Audio Unit (AU) Validation Failure In Logic Pro

Hopefully somebody out there can assist?
I am having trouble validating AU's in Logic Pro. The AU's in question are Access Virus TI and Waves GTR both of which had previously passed validation but for some reason Logic decided to re-run the validation exercise and has now failed them! The problem cited is some sort of 'buffer overrun'. All other AU's (mostly NI Komplete) of which I have 60 odd pass OK. The problem does not stop the failed AU's working within a project I'm working on but nonetheless confusing and irritating.
The only software I have installed and therefore change to my setup that may be conflicting somehow is the loading of Finale.
Any assistance to correct the problem would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris

Appreciate the heads up Rik. Have searched posts and realised the problem is as you say with the os update. Should have cloned but didn't! No harm done as AU's seem to work just fine by forcing them to load without validation. Cheers, Chris

  • Audio Units won't delete from Logic Pro

Recently I deleted a few AU that didn't work. They were originally installed by dragging them into the Components folder. As far as I can tell there is no trace of them in the Hard Drive. Logic still recognizes them and insists on scanning them every time I open Logic. I tried it on another user account and I tried trashing the prefferences for logic, but it still tries and fails the scan every time I open logic and they appear in the Audio Units Manager. I am beyond confused as to how to fix this issue. If anyone has any ideas or has had a similar issue I would apreciate it!

First, delete the cache file found here..
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache
(Note: This is found in your User Library.. not the Local Library found in the Root of your System Hard Drive)
Restart your Mac and restart Logic. It will then rescan all your AU plugins.. and see if that fixes things...
    If not then....
If you have truly deleted them from the correct Library then Logic cannot see them... so they must still be in one of the two libraries..
Check both the Library in the root of your System drive and the Library under your User name..
    If that fails...
    Download FindAnyFile from here
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
and use that to hunt them down...

  • Apple's Audio Units Fail Validation in Yosemite

Why do Apple's audio units fail validation in Yosemite
Anyone else having this problem ?
    What's the fix ?
Even Logic Pro X 10.0.7 can't validate Apple's AU plugs.
[Rant:  i have never been so disappointed with a Mac OS as i am with YO.  Most of my midi/audio/video programs will not work because of the validation of AU/VST plugs.  I am this close to trashing Yosemite .  It reminds me of my OS 9 days: if you even looked in the wrong direction the system stop working.]

are there any AU plugs here, in the components folder...?

  • M-Audio 61ES not playing nicely with Logic Pro X!

The 61ES has been doing some really wacky things: I opened it up out of the box for the first time last night and right off the bat the middle octave of notes on the controller were very quiet compared to the high and low notes on the board. It was like the velocity wasn't working properly on those keys or something. The sounds worked fine in Logic when I pencilled them in. But I was too tired to mess around with it more, so went to bed and figured I'd deal with it in the morning. So this morning, the middle octave of keys seems fine, but the middle G just won't play at all. And many of the notes aren't tracking, or playing- especially during fast passages.
I pulled up Pro Tools 10 and the 61ES worked fine. So something is going on between the controller and Logic. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm running it on a MacBook Pro with 10.8.5. And the latest version of Logic Pro X- 10.0.6. Thanks for any advice!

  • Will Logic Pro accomodate a M-Audio Fast Track Ultra?, Will Logic Pro accomodate a M-Audio Fast Track Ultra?

Will Logic Pro accomodate a M-Audio Fast Track Ultra?, Will Logic Pro accomodate a M-Audio Fast Track Ultra?

M-Audio is a bit slow getting drivers out but they eventually get it right so take heart... even companies like Focusrite don't have 100% compatible drivers for some of their hardware.
Not sure if -all- of the recent USB changes were released on time. I'm regularly in touch with a couple of plugin developers and both say Apple is notorious for last minute changes. Don't know if it's true or not.

  • Core Audio Drivers not Found Error (no Logic Pro Installed)

I am receiving the following error in GarageBand 08 and was hoping someone might be able to assist.
When recording with a USB mic in GarageBand 08 (MXL USB.006) I sometimes get the following error: (Core Audio Drivers not Found). The error occurs after I have completed a recording session and removed the USB mic. (The error occurs regardless of if I close GB before removing the mic; but only occasionally)
In checking the GB preferences, the Built-In audio option has disappeared from the drop down menu entirely for both Audio Input and Audio Output (although it still can find the USB mic if I reattach). In the Utilities folder, audio preferences, the Built-In audio option is also missing from the drop downs. (Not grayed out -- missing).
In researching the problem, it looks like a similar problem occurs with the Logic Pro suite but I don't have that installed on my Mac (and never have). In contacting MXL support, they noted that it was a problem with Leopard and they didn't have a fix.
At this point, I'm looking for either (1) a fix I've missed in my research or (2) an easy way to reinstall/replace/find the drivers without having to restore my system from backup. I've received the error three times now and restoring from back up - which clears the error and restores the drop down - is getting tiresome.
    Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestion! I believe that was the issue the first time I lost the drivers. Unfortunately, even resetting the inputs and closing GB before disconnecting doesn't guarantee my Built-In audio won't disappear. Thank you for trying though!

  • Failure of Logic Pro to translate Final Cut Pro XML data

I have been running some tests to debug a problem with audio dissolves failing to work when transfered to Soundtrack Pro. I considered mixing my FCP project in Logic Pro using the export to XML feature in FCP 5, then opeing the XML file in Logic Pro. (Hoping to get around the bug)
My simple test sequence in FCP fails completely in Logic pro.
Here is a posting of results.

  • RECORDING AUDIO through ROLAND FANTOM G8 on LOGIC PRO

Guys, I have been struggling for days, with such a ridiculously simple issue. I need to be able to record audio through my mic which is connected through my Roland Fantom G8 on one audio track in Logic, while simultaneously hearing the beat on another audio track through my computer's built-in output. Garageband does this automatically.
When I set the core audio input to the Roland Fantom, I can record just fine, but then I cannot hear the beat play through the computer's output. If I set the core audio input to built-in input, then I can hear the beat through the computer, but Logic does not detect my mic.
The program detects the Roland without me setting the core audio input to Roland Fantom, as I can record sounds on a midi track while simultaneously hearing the beat on an audio track. So why can I not record my vocals through the Roland on one audio track and simultaneously hear the beat on another audio track through the computer's output?
Somebody please let me know ASAP because I need to get this album of mine under way. It would be GREATLY appreciated.

It's quite common - people who are used to using entry-level tools don't necessarily realise that the software is designed to do a certain amount of hand-holding.
When moving to a professional program, people somehow think that the new program will do everything the entry-level one did and more, but everything will be even easier.
However, professional software is designed specifically to not do any hand-holding. It's assumed that people using professional software have a certain amount of skills. The software is designed to help them realise what they want, rather than constrain them in "easy-mode".
In short, it doesn't hold your hand, it doesn't tell you when to go to bed, and it won't look all dissapproving when you turn up the following morning with a hangover and half your clothes missing.
The trouble with having the pro stuff so accessible is a lot of people who are really at the level of using entry-level programs are using the pro stuff simply because they can - and then they get frustrated because these programs require some knowledge to use effectively.
Sit someone in front of Maya or After Effects (as an example) who has very little knowledge or experience, and they won't get far. And the software is not going to try to educate them.
And we see this with Logic Pro 8 like never before, as a lot of new users have come on board, whether because the price point or value is so attractive, or because LP8 is accessible in a way LP7 and before wasn't.
(Note, this is a general thing, not necessarily applied to the OP here...)

  • Audio issues and glitches using either Logic Pro 9 and iTunes library from OS 10.9

Since the new update to OS 10.9 have been experiencing some unwanted glitches with beach ball pop ups when working in logic pro 9.1.8 and itunes 11.1.3.
Can anyone tell me if this a troublesome Maverick OS 10.9 bug that needs fixing or am I just having trouble with logic pro 9, audio interface Apogee, or internal hard drive issues???
Your reply would be gratefully appreciated.

    Hi Guys
Thanks for your help, i've managed to solve the problem by myself
    Solution
    1. Start Logic in 64bit mode - see here for more info
    2. Open the crashing file
    3. The file will crash but this time you'll see a message on the pop dialog saying "32 Bit audio unitbridge quit unexpectedly while using the Massive plugin"
    4. Confirm the plugin name cousing problems in the error/crash report - look for this line; Plugin identifier:Massive.MusicDevice.componet - in this case, the Native Instrument Massive caoused the problem and had to bounce a short audio loop, I am lucky couse the AU wan on looping melodies. Try to reload the application in 32bit mode or use alternative.
    5. Problem solved

  • USB audio fault using vrm box with Logic pro X

    Hello,
Having problems with audio output from both usb ports on my Macbook Pro - I have a VRM box connected to the usb port and sound is coming from the left side of my headphones only.  Any help / advice with this much Appreciated.
    Ian

I'm afraid you have quite a learning curve ahead of you.
MIDI is not audio, the MIDI tracks you record are not sound, they are little tiny bits of data that tells what key note was presses and how fast (velocity) you played it. The data you're recording will play any sound on any MIDI Instrument. To get the sound of the MOX8 -IN- Logic you would have to record the audio outputs of the MOX8 into Logic as an audio track.
As with most Workstations you can set up a "Performance" mode that has different instruments on separate MIDI channels, this is for use with the Internal MOX8 sequencer but can also be used by an external sequencer like Logic. For instance, you could have different instruments on MIDI Channels 1 thru 9 and a drum set on channel 10, In Logic you could have ten tracks set to the MIDI channels you want to play on the MOX8... however, the sound would not be in Logic, the sound comes from within the MOX8. To actually get the sound in Logic you have to record it as an audio track. There are other more advanced methods but that's enough to think about. You will need to the Yamaha MOX8 manual and figure out how to set up a performance mode.

  • IMic USB Audio System will not play in Logic Pro X, help?

Hi guys.. I'm still pretty new to Logic. I'm currently trying to connect a guitar for recording using a 1/4" cable connected to an iMic USB Audio system. When I plug it in Logic recognizes it immediately, however it will not record. When I play it nothing happens.
Here's what I've checked and tried:
In system preferences, when I select iMic as an input and play the guitar the signal picks up successfully.
In Logic Preferences, I have iMic USB Audio System selected for the input, and system setting for the output (to hear as I play).
I create a new "guitar" track and make sure it also has iMic selected as its input source.
It works fine in GarageBand, but not in Logic.
I've searched everywhere looking for an answer and can't seem to find anyone with this problem! Help!?
    I'm using Logic 10.0.5 on Mavericks 10.9.2.
    Thanks!

Known problem with 10.0.5 I think, upgrade to 10.0.6

  • Logic Pro X with OSX Mavericks 10.9.2 Audio output cuts out 3-5 minutes into running software?

Logic Pro X with OSX 10.9.2 Audio output cuts out 3-5 minutes into running software how can I fix this?

    Well, first....
Are you using any 3rd party plugins in your project?
If not then my suggestion wont be the cause......
To see which plugins you have installed (Though it's only if they are being actually used in the project that would cause your issue..) you can see them via the Audio Unit Manager found under the Logic Pro X menu bar..... Logic Pro X..... Audio Unit Manager
Also, any reason you are still using 10.9.2 instead of updating to 10.9.5?
Do you get any message when the audio cuts out?
Are you only using internal audio hardware or are you using an external Audio Interface? if so, which one?

  • Kontakt instruments playback in Logic Pro 9 but they don't bounce to disk.

After much searching and random attempts with settings in both Logic Pro and the Kontakt player, I haven't found a way to send the playback from the Kontakt player to Logic Pro. In Digital Performer (e.g.) it's accomplished by recording real-time playback of the MIDI-to-Kontakt (or other player being used as a plugin) and then drop the audio file into an audio track. I don't see a way to do that in Logic. When I bounced in realtime I heard the Kontakt instrument but it wasn't recorded. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
MacBook Pro, M-Audio Fast Track Ultra

I believe I am running it as a plugin. Kontakt is checked in the Audio Units Manager as available in Logic Pro and it appears in the Library when I create a stereo External MIDI track. If I create a Software Instruments track (which doesn't see Kontakt), I can reassign the track as a MIDI Instrument and select Kontakt 5 Virtual Input. That justs reassigns the channel as an External MIDI instrument and I'm back where I started.
In Kontakt, the Output for Channel 1 (st. 1) only allows me to select my audio interface - M-Audio Fast Track Ultra. The only selections that will enable stereo playback in Logic appear in this screenshot:
I tried using Reaktor in the same way and got the same result - playback but no bounce.
In response to your multi-timbral setting idea, RT, the patch is a stereo sample and the multi-timbral aspect would only apply if I were loading a Software Instrument track (which apparently only allows selection of instruments within Logic).
I tried working in the Environment window hoping I could cable Kontakt to Logic but that failed as well. I'm stumped.
Thanks for the suggestions. Any other ideas are welcome!

  • Where dose Logic/Mac Pro store its audio units?

    Hello,
dose anyone know wich folder AU (audio units) are stored on a Mac Pro? they are usually in Library>Audio>Plug-ins>Components. but there is nothing in that folder and i am trying to get one of my plugins (Atmosphere Intel Mac Wrapper) to find its AU, its in that folder but the program is not finding it. so i thought if there was a diferent folder that AUs are stored it might find it there.
    thanks!
    Luke.

are you looking at a users library? try the system drive... select hard disc then library e.t.c.

  • Is any Logic 8 (Studio) user able to open STP with audio units plug-ins?

All of my 3rd party audio units plug-ins work with Logic 8: UAD, Powercore, PSP, NomadFactory, and RND.
MainStage and WaveBurner open without any problems.
Soundtrack Pro will only open if all of my AU plug-ins are removed to a "Components (Disabled)" folder.
I tried adding a few AU back into the components folder. Some seem ok, but if STP crashes after more AU's are added, then those that previously passed inspection seem to then cause STP to crash on start up.
I've tried trashing the com.apple.soundtrackpro.plist, EffectsCache.plist with temporary benefit.
I would like to use STP for mastering Logic audio mixes before burning in WaveBurner. Isn't this one of the benefits of purchasing Logic Studio???
    What to do???

    A little patience pays off...
The problem is...the +_*&^%$#@!!! TC PowerCore plugins!!!
And I'm somebody who actually likes them.
After receiving a suggestion that the TC Assimilator in particular might be problematic, I decided to gradually add everything but TC plugs. STP is now well behaved. I tested the waters by adding TC ClassicVerb and MegaVerb. So far...OK. The TC ClassicVerb is one of the best out there besides the $699 TC VSS3.
I can live without the other TC stuff for right now.
Again, I really appreciated the support.
    Best
