Audio Unit

I installed the  Audio Units Compolent , But I cannot find them in Garageband , How to enable them ? ( I can find the Audio Units but only Apple's )
I sure that's 64 bits Audio Unit

If the Audio Unit you installed is supported, it should appear in the same drop-down menu as the Apple standard Audio Units. Are you asking about GarageBand '11 as in your propfile signature, or are you using GarageBand 10.0 with Mavericks?

  • In your experience what are the best audio units to use

I hope that some of you folks are open to sharing some of your presets with others who aren't quite as good at toggling the audio unit section of garageband. I'm actually surprised that no site has sprouted up offering file downloads of presets for this section. Without the use of this section many mixes come out sound completely amateur and no better sounding than a 4-track recording vocals on a busy noisy sidewalk. For example I use the augraphiceq but it has no presets, which *****. I understand every voice has its own settings needs in editing or mastering, I just wish garageband offered a wide range of popular presets.
So let me get to what I am in need of from you wise fellow apple seeds, what au's do you use for hip hop vocals/ rock vocals/ or any genre you record. The master presets section do you use any? If so what do you use?
Can you detail your setting so I can create a duplicate to use myself ?
    Thank you

  • Apple's Audio Units Fail Validation in Yosemite

Why do Apple's audio units fail validation in Yosemite
Anyone else having this problem ?
    What's the fix ?
Even Logic Pro X 10.0.7 can't validate Apple's AU plugs.
[Rant:  i have never been so disappointed with a Mac OS as i am with YO.  Most of my midi/audio/video programs will not work because of the validation of AU/VST plugs.  I am this close to trashing Yosemite .  It reminds me of my OS 9 days: if you even looked in the wrong direction the system stop working.]

are there any AU plugs here, in the components folder...?

  • Some help please: how to remove incompatible audio units?

    Hello forum readers,
If someone knows, a little help would be appreciated:
When staring Logic Pro X, each time Audio Units are automatically being scanned. All the time I get a window with the message "Incompatible Audio Units found":
"While verifying Audio Unit compatibility, Logic Pro X encountered 1 Audio Unit plug-in(s) which did not pass the Apple AU validation. These plug-ins have been excluded from further usage in Logic Pro X to prevent possible problems or crashes. You can start the AU Manager now to review the validation results or continue the startup process."
When opening the Audio Units manager, I see that "AUSpeechSynthesis (Automap)applttsp"  (Manufacturer: Apple, type: generator) couldn't be opened. I don't know how to remove or bypass this plug-in, as the option "disable failed audio units" doesn't seem to work. Now each time I start Logic Pro X, the same message keeps appearing. I also can't find that file on my Mac, a searched for it and also the Finder can't find it.
Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks a lot in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Thijs

I have the same problem but I can´t figure out how to unwrap AUSpeechSynthesis. I can´t even find it in the filesystem with spotlight.....   ;o(
And yes I have turned on the 64bit plugin friendly option in Automap's Preferences.
    Thanks for your help!

  • "AuSpeechSynthesis" audio unit plug-in update for GarageBand for Snow Leopard?

I cannot open GarageBand and use it without this plug-in updated or an alternative solution. I get this error message:
"An error has occurred with an installed audio limit plug-in. GarageBand unexpectedly quit while trying to use the audio unit "AuSpeechSunthesis" by "Apple". This
    plug-in may require an update."
I've looked everywhere for an update. My computer won't accept the latest version of GarageBand.

Which version of GarageBand are you currently using?  And is your profile signature still valid? MacoS X 10.6.8 ?
Did you install any new software or update software, before this problem first occurred? Did GarageBand ever work for you?
The AuSpeechSynthesis plug-in is a standard plug-in, that is installed as part of the system in /System/Library/Components/AUSpeechSynthesis.component/.
If it should have become corrupted, you will need to reinstall the system.

  • Why are audio units not showing up?

I'm just about out of my mind with this one- I've downloaded a number of plugins, namely DCAM synth squad, Flux Stereo Tool and Magnus Ambience Reverb, but no matter what I do I can't get them to show up. They claim they're 64 bit so that shouldn't be a problem, and I can't get them to show up in either Logic X or Ableton Live 9. I've re-scanned all plug-ins in both DAWs, I've deleted my plugin cache and had them rescan that way, but nothing works. I can see the .component files in my library, but nothing I do will get either Logic or Live to recognize them. I can open synth squad in standalone mode so the plugins themselves are working, they just won't show up as inserts.
The Ambience reverb is even recognized by the audio units manager and it says its validated and an effect, but it doesn't show up when I look at the available plug-ins on my channel strips.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Flux Stereo Tool is only available as a 32bit AU version so that won't work in LPX (or Live9 in 64bit mode)
Note: 64bit floating point is not the same as 64bit AU Plugin..........
Magnus Ambience Reverb is available as a 64bit AU Plugin but only if you download that specific version.... (However, several people have reported it doesn't work for them in 64bit mode in any DAW anyhow, even with the correct version)
Mac OS X Magnus Ambience Reverb Universal 32-bit and 64-bit AU
..and according to the FXpansions website DCAM free version is only available as a 32bit AU plugin so that wont work with Logic Pro X (or Live 9 in 64bit mode)
    In summary:
In order for a plugin to work in Logic Pro X it must be a 64bit AU (AudioUnit) plugin.... not a 64bit VST.. or a 32bit AU Plugin...

  • Logic audio unit bridge unresponsive/gui doesn't show up properly

Hi there, having a problem running some 32 bit plugins while running logic in 64 bit mode.
For those who are familiar with the Audio Unit bridge, when clicking on a 32 bit plug-in it brings up this grey window which prompts another click to bring up the interface. When I click on here the GUI appears for a split second then disappears again or sometimes doesn't appear at all. Noteably, the plugins still allow audio through, it is just the interface won't appear.
After a while of having a project open, I have also experienced Logic giving me this message presumably due to the same problem:
It lists all the 32 bit plugins used within the project and says they are unavailable, crossing them out in the logic mixer and removing them from the audio unit manager.
I have tried removing the logic .plist file which allows the loading of the plugins again but not does not solve the problem of the unresponsive GUI.
Really lumbered by this one, any potential resolution much appreciated.
    Thanks

this might be a graphic issue with my 2013 macbook pro retina 2.8gig
i went to preferences and changed the display type... the plugin then shows up. but left in any one of the modes, if i take out the plugin and recall it the same issues remain. Maybe my graphic card is failing

  • Is any Logic 8 (Studio) user able to open STP with audio units plug-ins?

All of my 3rd party audio units plug-ins work with Logic 8: UAD, Powercore, PSP, NomadFactory, and RND.
MainStage and WaveBurner open without any problems.
Soundtrack Pro will only open if all of my AU plug-ins are removed to a "Components (Disabled)" folder.
I tried adding a few AU back into the components folder. Some seem ok, but if STP crashes after more AU's are added, then those that previously passed inspection seem to then cause STP to crash on start up.
I've tried trashing the com.apple.soundtrackpro.plist, EffectsCache.plist with temporary benefit.
I would like to use STP for mastering Logic audio mixes before burning in WaveBurner. Isn't this one of the benefits of purchasing Logic Studio???
    What to do???

    A little patience pays off...
The problem is...the +_*&^%$#@!!! TC PowerCore plugins!!!
And I'm somebody who actually likes them.
After receiving a suggestion that the TC Assimilator in particular might be problematic, I decided to gradually add everything but TC plugs. STP is now well behaved. I tested the waters by adding TC ClassicVerb and MegaVerb. So far...OK. The TC ClassicVerb is one of the best out there besides the $699 TC VSS3.
I can live without the other TC stuff for right now.
Again, I really appreciated the support.

Hi, i've got some troubles with logic!
Logic can't find my audio units, i've got a message which told me about midi delays issues(it's in french so i'm not sure about the translation)!
I tried to reinstall it, but it's still blocked.....i don't know what to do!
I've already repaired the permissions, but it didn't change anything....

I don't know if it can explains by this, but my IAC manager isn't working in the midi settings!!

  • 3rd party plug-ins are not displayed in channel strip audio unit insert

I have successfully loaded several 3rd party plug-ins (Wave Masters and IK multimedia Studio Bundle) into my MacBook Pro. The files are shown in Library>Audio>Plug-ins>Components, in User>Downloads, and they appear in my Audio Unit Manager (for each the box is checked for access from Logic Pro). Yet, when I go to a channel strip to launch some of the plug-ins, the product does not show up under audio units. How do I get these plug-in files to the insert list for my audio channels? Unfortunately, I need to launch these plug-ins in order to authorize them with the vendor. I must be missing a key step, but I have not had this issue before with other 3rd party plug-ins. Thanks for any direction.

Also, I know in the case of my IK Multimedia Classic Studio Reverb, it will NOT be available from within my 3rd party plug-in list, on a MONO channel.
I need to be opening the list on a stereo track (or stereo Aux), in order to be able to select those plug-ins.
See if it's something that simple...

  • Using Spaces with Audio Units?

I was trying to figure out if it is possible to have specific audio unit device displays in separate "spaces". It would be nice to have an entire screen designated for each window.
all i've tried so far is dragging the window, but it only seems to follow the space that garage band is displayed in.

Right now im actually using Ableton live rather than Garage band. In Live you are able to have the audio unit window open of the selected scene. when you scroll through your instruments, (if you have the AU edit window enabled) the different windows will pop up. i was trying to figure out a way to arm an instrument at the same time as viewing the AU via some sort of midi command (ie. arm track & ctrl+2 for my second space)
As far as i know, the audio units are the same no matter what host you use, so i thought i'd see if anyone here has figured it out.
also, does anyone know how to change the size of the AU window? all of mine are fixed at an awkward size.

  • Installing Third Party Audio Units

Wonder if anybody can help. I have just bought a G5 Dual 2.3 and Logic Pro 7.1 I can not find any way of "installing" third party plug ins. I have checked the ones I have ( Waves Platinum for AU for OSX ) and they are valid for Logic 7. I have put several plugs in Applications , but they are not even appearing in Logic Audio Units Manager. Im probably missing something really simpe here. Im also having the same type of problem trying out "demo" versions of some new AU instruments e.g. X treme FX and MOTU MX4 Soft Synth ( that is appearing in Audio Unit Manager but will not open, so maybe its not valid for Logic yet?) Pleeeeeeease Help. Thanks. Paul

    Hey Paul & Welcome!
I don't quite understand what you mean when you say you can not find a way of "installing".
You should have installers for your AU's. If you doubleclick one of those, it should take you through the installation process. Apologies if this is what you have done, but I become a little suspicious when you say you have "put several plugs in your Applications folder". This is sometimes the right procedure when it comes to installing certain applications (e.g. Reason), but rarely or never the case with plug ins. You need an installer.
Now, If indeed you have gone through the installation process, it is still possible that the plug in question won't show up as available. As you rightly point out, it may be rejected by Logics AU Manager.
    Check in your following folders:
    HD/Library/Audio/Plug Ins/Components
    and,
    Home/Library/Audio/Plug Ins/Components
wich is were your AU's are supposed to be located.
If they are not there, they are not installed. If they are there, they should be scanned by AU Manager and be validated or refuted.
When you have checked the folders, you can open Logic and run AU Manager and check the status of your installed AU's. The ones that have failed or crashed can still be selected by checking the little box, with the risk of making Logic unstable. You will indeed get a warning every time you open logic, telling you how many failed AU's you're currently running.
So, check for installers, check your component folders and cross reference with the AU manager.
Again, sorry if this is at a beginner level for you, I could not quite make out where you're at.
    Good Luck!
    Erik

  • Always ignore incompatible Audio Units?

Is it possible to set Logic to always ignore incompatible Audio Units? I've got a few plugins which fail validation but are perfectly usable. It's obnoxious to have to click "Ignore" every time I start Logic.
Is there a plist or something somewhere I can edit that will automatically ignore failed AUs?
    Thanks!

No, no setting in Logic can disable that.
I have had the same question a few months ago, but a query on the net did only yield one possible solution; it meant tampering with invisible files having to do with the AUval application (also invisible) I followed the recipe, and: it didn't work, the warning kept popping up anyway.
    regards, Erik.

  • Incompatible Audio Units Found

    Hello,
I just downloaded and installed Final Cut Pro X (10.1.2 on Mavericks 10.9.4).
Each time I launch application I have to dismiss manually this alert:
in order to be able to start to work in app.
Any ideas why this alert appears and is it possible to repair the issue?
    Thank you,
    Maxim

    HI Luis,
    Thank you for prompt reply!
But.... If everything would be so simple...
I already followed the instructions on removing audio plugins from both places on my Mac. BTW there was no any audio plugins in those folders at all.
On the other hand the alert from FCP X shows exactly what plugin is the culprit in my situation: it is  AuNetSend audio unit.
As I know Audio Units are a system-level plug-in architecture provided by Core Audio in Mac OS X developed by Apple Computer. So the case is in one of the audio plugins from Mac OS itself.
So I don't know how and where to find this plugin and how delete (disable) it.
Do I you have any other thoughts on this matter?
    Thanks,
    Maxim

  • Location of Logic's "In-Built" Audio Units? (Sculpture etc.)

I'd like to be able to use plug-in instruments/fx like Sculpture, Space Designer etc. etc. in Nuendo, without having to resort to rewire.
With the program Plogue Bidule I can insert Au into Vst and vice-versa...
    (and much more...super prog.)
But...uh...where are these Logic "built-in" Audio Units?
Needless to say I have full registered versions of all of these.
They function as plug-ins so they must exist in some self contained format somewhere on the drive.
    Any Suggestions?
    Thanks
    Brutze

This is what I found as well (in response to my post
here), and it's a shame. I'd be happy to have to
have my dongle plugged in if I could use Logic's
effects and synths in external apps.
And a lot of us would be happy if we could have an Mbox plugged in and use RTAS plugins within Logic. And maybe some VST's as well. But that's just not the way it is.
Aside from the hypocracy on Apple's part (they say
AU's are good enough for 3rd party developers)
They are good enough for third party developers. I think you misunderstood what Apple was saying there. A third party developer is anyone willing to create a plugin in the AU format - a third party developer is NOT steinberg. . . and a third party product is NOT cubase/nuendo because it cannot be used in conjunction with Logic. If it can be used in conjuction with Logic (i.e. any plugin NOT made by Apple, but is still encoded using the AU format) but is not made by apple, it is third party.
expected to be able to use these components outside
of Logic, and was disappointed to find out this
    wasn't possible.
Use a few other DAW systems, and you will find that any native plugins are not useable in other DAWs. . . such as Digidesign's Beat Detective - I'd love to use that in Logic - but I can't.
Logic is not the only software that doesn't allow the use of its included plugins outside of the host software. It is EVERY DAW software.

  • Logic Audio Unit Validater

I have loaded new waves audio unit plug-ins into Logic Pro 7.1, when they are authorized they have shown up doubled, the 5.2 versions. One group validates, the other crashed. Thus, every time Logic Pro 7.1 is loaded at start up it lists the bad plug-ins and you have to click ok to every unvalidated plug in before you can get Logic to full boot up. Is there a folder that you can delete from for the audio unit validater? Does any one have any ideas? Thanks

Launch the AUManager and deselect the bad ones?
