Audio Units Izotope Iris Problem

Hi.
I have Logic Pro 9.1.7 (32-bit) running on a mid 2010 MacBook Pro. I recently bought Izotope's Iris and the problem is that it is listed as a validated Audio Unit in Logic, but I can't click on Inserts > Audio Units and Iris - Iris doesn't appear in this list!
I've looked through the forums etc and can find similar problems, but no solutions. I've tried changing Logic AND Iris to run in 32-bit mode; I've tried re-scanning the plugins and even deleting the "com.apple.audiounits.cache" file to get it to scan the plugins again - still no luck.
This is frustrating, because it recognises and validates Iris, but it just won't come up as an Audio Unit instrument / audio plugin in Logic!
Any help with this greatly appreciated
Z

Please ignore my ramblings.
This does work in the I/O option for Audio Instruments, though it's worth noting for new users like me that this is for an Instrument track, not an Audio track. Re-scanning for the AU Units helped I think.

  • Cant run Logic 8? 'Audio Unit plug-in' PROBLEM!Hello,

    Hello,
I have a Intel MacPro Quad and have been running Logic 7 for the past 9 months, along with a TC Powercore and Novation X Station.
I have recently purchased an upgrade to logic 8 and have attempted to run the program however upon opening it fails to find the 'Audio Unit plug-ins' and will not open. If I bypass the core audio, it will allow me to open a document but disables all plug-ins!?
Originally I thought part of the issue would be a conflict with the Powercore or X Station but I'm sure its not these causing the issues. If anyone has had a similar problem or knows any way of rectifying this problem then your help would be much appreciated. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
    Cheers, Si

No I haven't tried this only because I have ongoing projects in Logic 7 so I didn't want to uninstall any plug ins or loose any presets... maybe this is the only option I have.
    Cheers Alex

  • Logic pro 8 audio unit problem

My logic pro 8 install doesnt seem to go anywhere from the dialogue box that says that it is updating the audio units. I get to the menus but if I try to start the audio unit manager, it crashes. I have tried uninstalling all my audio units and other software and updating to the latest version but it did not help.
Im running the latest version of Leopard (10.5.2) on a 2 GHZ intel core 2 duo macbook.

Yep I had the exact same problem. I'm running MacOSX 10.5.2.
I deleted the file ~Library/Caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache as described in this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1086
and my Logic runs perfectly now...
    Hope this helps.

  • Garageband Audio Unit (AU) problem

Hello, my name is Ryan Minor and I use Garageband to record original songs and I use my USB keyboard to use the software instruments. I recently installed Garritan Personal Orchestra and Toontrack EZDrummer and I know these programs are compatible with Garageband however, when I try to switch the generator on a midi track in Garageband, Personal Orchestra and EZDrummer do not show up on the list. I have tried other free Audio Units (Crystal) and they work fine. Is this a common problem that I am overlooking. Please help me so I can use these programs!
    Ryan Minor

I think i may have found the problem, I am using Leopard 10.5.2 now and i do not think that the Personal Orchestra and EZdrummer audio units are compatible with leopard yet, I am thinking about reverting to tiger so I can use these again Let me know if you think this may be the case or if anyone else is having these same problems. Thanks
    Ryan

  • Problems with Audio Units

I have a bunch of Audio Units in my components folder, yet in both Logic and Garageband, none show up. I try to force them in the menu, and still, none of the ones in components folder show up.

    Hi,
Since when did you notice their disappearance? Or when you installed them they simply did not show up? How many are we talking about here?
Anyways, here is the magic krypto-key to unlcok the secret Audio Unit level.
    Are you ready?
IF you are on an INTEL chipset Macintosh, and you use PPC Audio Units:
    You will NEVER see them.
You need to make sure that each and every one is Universal Binary, and approved for Intel macs.

  • Apple's Audio Units Fail Validation in Yosemite

Why do Apple's audio units fail validation in Yosemite
Anyone else having this problem ?
    What's the fix ?
Even Logic Pro X 10.0.7 can't validate Apple's AU plugs.
[Rant:  i have never been so disappointed with a Mac OS as i am with YO.  Most of my midi/audio/video programs will not work because of the validation of AU/VST plugs.  I am this close to trashing Yosemite .  It reminds me of my OS 9 days: if you even looked in the wrong direction the system stop working.]

are there any AU plugs here, in the components folder...?

  • Some help please: how to remove incompatible audio units?

    Hello forum readers,
If someone knows, a little help would be appreciated:
When staring Logic Pro X, each time Audio Units are automatically being scanned. All the time I get a window with the message "Incompatible Audio Units found":
"While verifying Audio Unit compatibility, Logic Pro X encountered 1 Audio Unit plug-in(s) which did not pass the Apple AU validation. These plug-ins have been excluded from further usage in Logic Pro X to prevent possible problems or crashes. You can start the AU Manager now to review the validation results or continue the startup process."
When opening the Audio Units manager, I see that "AUSpeechSynthesis (Automap)applttsp"  (Manufacturer: Apple, type: generator) couldn't be opened. I don't know how to remove or bypass this plug-in, as the option "disable failed audio units" doesn't seem to work. Now each time I start Logic Pro X, the same message keeps appearing. I also can't find that file on my Mac, a searched for it and also the Finder can't find it.
Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks a lot in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Thijs

I have the same problem but I can´t figure out how to unwrap AUSpeechSynthesis. I can´t even find it in the filesystem with spotlight.....   ;o(
And yes I have turned on the 64bit plugin friendly option in Automap's Preferences.
    Thanks for your help!

  • "AuSpeechSynthesis" audio unit plug-in update for GarageBand for Snow Leopard?

I cannot open GarageBand and use it without this plug-in updated or an alternative solution. I get this error message:
"An error has occurred with an installed audio limit plug-in. GarageBand unexpectedly quit while trying to use the audio unit "AuSpeechSunthesis" by "Apple". This
    plug-in may require an update."
I've looked everywhere for an update. My computer won't accept the latest version of GarageBand.

Which version of GarageBand are you currently using?  And is your profile signature still valid? MacoS X 10.6.8 ?
Did you install any new software or update software, before this problem first occurred? Did GarageBand ever work for you?
The AuSpeechSynthesis plug-in is a standard plug-in, that is installed as part of the system in /System/Library/Components/AUSpeechSynthesis.component/.
If it should have become corrupted, you will need to reinstall the system.

  • Why are audio units not showing up?

I'm just about out of my mind with this one- I've downloaded a number of plugins, namely DCAM synth squad, Flux Stereo Tool and Magnus Ambience Reverb, but no matter what I do I can't get them to show up. They claim they're 64 bit so that shouldn't be a problem, and I can't get them to show up in either Logic X or Ableton Live 9. I've re-scanned all plug-ins in both DAWs, I've deleted my plugin cache and had them rescan that way, but nothing works. I can see the .component files in my library, but nothing I do will get either Logic or Live to recognize them. I can open synth squad in standalone mode so the plugins themselves are working, they just won't show up as inserts.
The Ambience reverb is even recognized by the audio units manager and it says its validated and an effect, but it doesn't show up when I look at the available plug-ins on my channel strips.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Flux Stereo Tool is only available as a 32bit AU version so that won't work in LPX (or Live9 in 64bit mode)
Note: 64bit floating point is not the same as 64bit AU Plugin..........
Magnus Ambience Reverb is available as a 64bit AU Plugin but only if you download that specific version.... (However, several people have reported it doesn't work for them in 64bit mode in any DAW anyhow, even with the correct version)
Mac OS X Magnus Ambience Reverb Universal 32-bit and 64-bit AU
..and according to the FXpansions website DCAM free version is only available as a 32bit AU plugin so that wont work with Logic Pro X (or Live 9 in 64bit mode)
    In summary:
In order for a plugin to work in Logic Pro X it must be a 64bit AU (AudioUnit) plugin.... not a 64bit VST.. or a 32bit AU Plugin...

  • Logic audio unit bridge unresponsive/gui doesn't show up properly

Hi there, having a problem running some 32 bit plugins while running logic in 64 bit mode.
For those who are familiar with the Audio Unit bridge, when clicking on a 32 bit plug-in it brings up this grey window which prompts another click to bring up the interface. When I click on here the GUI appears for a split second then disappears again or sometimes doesn't appear at all. Noteably, the plugins still allow audio through, it is just the interface won't appear.
After a while of having a project open, I have also experienced Logic giving me this message presumably due to the same problem:
It lists all the 32 bit plugins used within the project and says they are unavailable, crossing them out in the logic mixer and removing them from the audio unit manager.
I have tried removing the logic .plist file which allows the loading of the plugins again but not does not solve the problem of the unresponsive GUI.
Really lumbered by this one, any potential resolution much appreciated.
    Thanks
    A

this might be a graphic issue with my 2013 macbook pro retina 2.8gig
i went to preferences and changed the display type... the plugin then shows up. but left in any one of the modes, if i take out the plugin and recall it the same issues remain. Maybe my graphic card is failing

  • Is any Logic 8 (Studio) user able to open STP with audio units plug-ins?

All of my 3rd party audio units plug-ins work with Logic 8: UAD, Powercore, PSP, NomadFactory, and RND.
MainStage and WaveBurner open without any problems.
Soundtrack Pro will only open if all of my AU plug-ins are removed to a "Components (Disabled)" folder.
I tried adding a few AU back into the components folder. Some seem ok, but if STP crashes after more AU's are added, then those that previously passed inspection seem to then cause STP to crash on start up.
I've tried trashing the com.apple.soundtrackpro.plist, EffectsCache.plist with temporary benefit.
I would like to use STP for mastering Logic audio mixes before burning in WaveBurner. Isn't this one of the benefits of purchasing Logic Studio???
    What to do???

    A little patience pays off...
The problem is...the +_*&^%$#@!!! TC PowerCore plugins!!!
And I'm somebody who actually likes them.
After receiving a suggestion that the TC Assimilator in particular might be problematic, I decided to gradually add everything but TC plugs. STP is now well behaved. I tested the waters by adding TC ClassicVerb and MegaVerb. So far...OK. The TC ClassicVerb is one of the best out there besides the $699 TC VSS3.
I can live without the other TC stuff for right now.
Again, I really appreciated the support.

  • Installing Third Party Audio Units

Wonder if anybody can help. I have just bought a G5 Dual 2.3 and Logic Pro 7.1 I can not find any way of "installing" third party plug ins. I have checked the ones I have ( Waves Platinum for AU for OSX ) and they are valid for Logic 7. I have put several plugs in Applications , but they are not even appearing in Logic Audio Units Manager. Im probably missing something really simpe here. Im also having the same type of problem trying out "demo" versions of some new AU instruments e.g. X treme FX and MOTU MX4 Soft Synth ( that is appearing in Audio Unit Manager but will not open, so maybe its not valid for Logic yet?) Pleeeeeeease Help. Thanks. Paul

    Hey Paul & Welcome!
I don't quite understand what you mean when you say you can not find a way of "installing".
You should have installers for your AU's. If you doubleclick one of those, it should take you through the installation process. Apologies if this is what you have done, but I become a little suspicious when you say you have "put several plugs in your Applications folder". This is sometimes the right procedure when it comes to installing certain applications (e.g. Reason), but rarely or never the case with plug ins. You need an installer.
Now, If indeed you have gone through the installation process, it is still possible that the plug in question won't show up as available. As you rightly point out, it may be rejected by Logics AU Manager.
    Check in your following folders:
    HD/Library/Audio/Plug Ins/Components
    and,
    Home/Library/Audio/Plug Ins/Components
wich is were your AU's are supposed to be located.
If they are not there, they are not installed. If they are there, they should be scanned by AU Manager and be validated or refuted.
When you have checked the folders, you can open Logic and run AU Manager and check the status of your installed AU's. The ones that have failed or crashed can still be selected by checking the little box, with the risk of making Logic unstable. You will indeed get a warning every time you open logic, telling you how many failed AU's you're currently running.
So, check for installers, check your component folders and cross reference with the AU manager.
Again, sorry if this is at a beginner level for you, I could not quite make out where you're at.
    Good Luck!
    Erik

  • 32 bit audio unit bridge unexpectingly quits

I've just updated to Snow Leopard and I've been using Melodyne to fix vocals. When I used Melodyne on the first 3 vocals, everything in Logic was functioning fine but when I try to import the last vocal track into Melodyne, the 32 bit audio unit bridge unexpectingly quits. I've tried quiting and re-opening Logic and the same problem happens at the same spot. On the previous 3 vocal tracks that I fixed with Melodyne, I have already bounced those tracks in place and have got rid of the old tracks. So, the Melodyne plug in is only open on the last vocal track. It seems strange that my Melodyne plug in was working fine with the 32 bit audio unit bridge (as are all of my plug ins) until now.
    Any advice anyone?

If you are running Logic in 64-bit mode with a variety of plugins, you're going to have to realise that things probably won't be stable until updates get released.
The AU bridge is a workaround for the transition period, and one that many third-party developers haven't had much of an opportunity to test with their products, so you may well get funky behaviour in certain things.
If you're really stuck, go back to 32-bit mode for your edits, and it's worth contacting the developer of your plugins to see what they say about AU Bridge and 64-bit compatibility.
