Hi,
I have a Lenovo T430 which has been working for over a year. Recently, I have found that audio/video sometimes does not play. I need to restart my computer and that fixes the problem.
I was wondering if there is a way to fix this permanently?

As per the query we understood that you are facing the issue with Audio/Video on ThinkPad T430.
This kind of issue will occurs if there is an issue with drivers. Please uninstall both Audio & Video drivers from control panel – program & feature option and restart the system.
Download & install ThinkVantage system update utility from Lenovo support page, and run the application so that it will check all the required application and drivers for your system and it will install.
After performing all the above steps restart the system once again and check it once.
Below is the link to enter the downloads page and download latest application accordingly, please click on "Select Product" then in "QUICK PATH" enter the MTM no. select the exact model.

Video problem, help please!

I just bought the music video to "Call Me When You're Sober" and now it won't play. I've tried every way I could think of to play it, I've even used Quicktime, but it still won't play.

Thanks---but I thought of this also. Indeed it is a jumper setting, and I can see nothing so changing BIOS is not an option for me. I also cleared the BIOS at the respective jumper. It does not work. Perhaps it is just truly a bad mobo.
But it seems to me that the video should work no matter what since one cannot diagnose much easily without it.
A nice addition to the manual might be a trouble-shooting guide. I was also told by the seller that there were returns on this mobo---which means little I suppose---but no returns for video problems. This is why I wanted to double and triple check before returning it.
I am a newbie, although I have built dozens of computers as an instructor/technician. But we researched and then learned just several mobos which we always used in the machines for the schools. But this time I had to grab an unknown board (at least to me) due to the requirements of a client, and it's my money I am learning with!

Hi8 capture audio/video problem

I have a Sony TRV740 that will capture my Hi8 movies through Firewire but iMovie will drop the audio every half second or so and when I play the video back it plays at twice the normal speed. Any suggestions?

No, but I can use Google.
Don't use DV NTSC Basic. Use regular DV NTSC, unless your audio is 32k, in which you'll have to make a 32k DV NTSC preset. There might be a problem with the FW800 connector. Quite a few people are reporting problems with these cables. Definitely use the rear FireWire port. Do you have any other devices connected?

Audio Console Problem - Help Need

Hey everyone.
I'm having a problem here with my creative audio console. I have a Soundblaster Audigy 2 Value series. I've been using this card for about month now and everything has been working great. I've been using the latest beta drivers since i got the card and i've had no problems. I'm using the latest audio console too and it's great. I need the console for the Advanced EQ settings.
The problem is: I went into the console to change the EQ to 'rock' but when i accessed the 'EAX' tab, it was all blank, no settings, nothing. If i go to the 'speakers' tab, there is nothing to choose from also. Anyone got any idea what the problem is?
Audio works fine, just not these features.
I have had this problem occasionally before, but after a restart of windows, everything re-appears again. This time nothing is coming back after a restart.
I've tried re-installing the drivers and console, but nothing works.
Any help would be very greatly appreciated. I do love my Advanced EQ.

I am thinking, the beta read me states, some audio console apps may not fuction. The only last resort thing I can think of is a 00% clean sweap. Unistall drivers and ALL media source ap

Also make sure to delete install sheild and delete C:\Program Files\Creative folder .
Use driver cleaner after you uninstall drivers also, this is to remove all reg keys.
In C:\Program Files folder you should have an installshield folder (hidden) in there are GUID named folders.
Go through them all and any that have a reference to creative, delete the folder.
Install your drivers and apps from the CD. Then update all the media source ap
ps.
Then update you driver. Do not uninstall the drivers though, just over right them and make sure to say yes to over right shared driver files.
NOTE: When you update media source apps, use the auto updater.
Before you do this though, as a test go to windows control panel and you should have audio HQ in here, open it and see if you can change EAX settings in here. If you can, then its just a bad install of media source ap

Audio Editing Problem- Help!

I've been having problems with audio editing in iBooks Author.
I edit a track I'm using across a text, editing just the portion I want played, and it all works fine in the program, when I move it over to iPad for testing, it won't play the right part I've confirmed is working fine in the program itself, instead it seems to revert in every audio link to the last portion I put into a link.

I'm not sure your problem is exactly like mine, but it pertains to placing the audio in a widget in ITA (itunes author).
The issue to look out for is we took our video and audio clips into our layouts to publish and apple validator rejects the audio clip saying the "audio is outside of the widget." and creates an error code. It seems to accept the video fine, but the AAC clip has been run through QT, or iTunes or Compressor and we still get the same error code. I' thinking there's a bug. So ours runs fine on the ipad, but won't validate. Like I said, maybe not your same issue, but the audio in a widget is a little buggy unless I'm overlooking something. Let us know how you work your problem out.

Sequence Nesting Audio/Video problem

I am nesting sequences, when I playback Sequence One which houses all sequences, there are audio pops (meaning every audio in-cue literally pops) and certain video stutters especially chyrons. When I open each sequence separately for palyback this does not occur. I completed a project recently before this one and this did not happen. I have not changed any presets or preferences.

Have you methodically rendered & mixed down each sequence individually and then also rendered & mixed down your master 'Sequence One'?

Creative ZEN audio video problem.

I've got a SDHC card 8GB in my ZEN and I converted some family guy videos which are perfect if I play them on the computer.
I have put all the episodes of family guy on my ZEN and when I played it, it just played but the longer it plays the more the video stays behind on the audio. But when I play the SAME episodes which I put on my ZEN, on the computer it just works fine...

That sounds like a software conversion problem. Try using this program http://forums.creative.com/creativel...thread.id=2983? to encode the video & then? load it on the card. I've used it & it works really good,fast & no playback issues. It also has a preset for the Zen

Video problem help quickly please

i've downloaded a video and it doesn't work on my 5th gen iPod but i also downloaded a programe that converts videos that don't work on ipod to files that works on iPod like mp4 and mov stuff like that but the video i've downloaded is not a format that even the converter can understand it's (Windows Media(TM)Video file) if any body knows a programe that can convert it to iPod format help quickly PLEEEAASSSEEE

i've tried Videora but it's converts to avs and this format doesn't work on iPod can anyone find another programe also does anyone knows good dvd movies converter so i can watch my DVDs on my iPod ?

Cropping in Elements 11 - Floating in Video Problem - Help Please!

From my point of view, I believe I know what you did, and I need no screenshot, unless you cannot confirm the following results.
I am essentially certain that I fully understand what you did. It was your use of the Crop Tool and its settings that needs fine tuning.
If you want to crop out that curtain from the left side of the Green Screen Clip, then please try this and let us know the results.
a. Drag the Crop Effect into your Green Screen Clip on Video 1, either into the Monitor or the clip on the Timeline (Expert view) Video 1.
b. Make sure the clip is selected, go to the Applied Effects Palette and the Crop Panel there. Expand the Crop Panel so that you see the settings options.
There are Left, Top, Right, and Bottom sliders there. I cannot give you exact number for your specific situation, but follow this scheme:
Left Slider, move in direction to cut out your curtain on the left side of the Green Screen Image.
Top Slider, move in direction to bring image to the top of the frame just until there is no black showing at the top.
Right Slider, move in direction to bring image to the right edge of the frame until there is not black showing at the right side
Bottom Slider, move in direction to bring image just to the bottom of the frame until there is no black showing at the bottom.
Place a check mark next to Zoom. The frame should be filled with no black border and your person image should be seen intact.
Go back to the Timeline and apply the Green Screen Key Effect to your clip.
I have just done a run through to YouTube with this workflow. Please compare my first upload to YouTube (no cropping) with the current upload that incorporated cropping to get the curtain (seen in the first upload) cut out of the picture.

5D Mark III Video Problem -- Help Needed!

Been using my 5D Mark III for video for about a month now. I noticed a problem occurring in the middle of certain shots where the color seems to shift. The problem is so slight that it will take full screen, full HD and a high level of concentration to detect. I believe the most obvious occurence is at 28 seconds where the valley below suddenly takes on a different color. Here is a video of my issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xw9IHYkUEqQ
I run these settings:
Manual Focus
Aperture, ISO: Manually set
Shutter Speed: 1/50
1920x1080 ALL-I 24p
Picture Style: Faithful
Custom White Balance
Auto Lighting Optimizer: OFF
Highlight Tone Priority: OFF
High ISO Speed NR: OFF
I tried to see if these were detectible on the LCD screen on the camera, but to the naked eye they are not. The original .MOV files that were transferred from the camera show them.
Could it possibly be the Chromatic Aberration or Peripheral Illumination Correction? I have not disabled these, and they are the only automatic settings that I can think of that would be changing mid-shot.
I believe ISO was set to 100 for these shots.
Any ideas what might be causing this? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

This looks completely normal. I don't see a problem.
Be aware that our atmosphere has diffractive properties just like a lens. When the sun is at or near the horizon it's going to bend light differently depending on the wavelength (i.e. color) of that light. Colors in the atmosphere and on the ground (since the only way it gets to the ground is to go through the atmosphere) will vary depending on where you point the camera and the position of the sun. As the sun rises it wont take such a angled path through the atmosphere and this effect is greatly diminished.

IPod touch iOS 5 audio split problem, help??

I've had my iPod touch with ios 5 for a month now, and when I listen to music it used to be fine. But now when i listen to music, I can hear a different things in different ears, even with the apple regular earbuds. For example I hear a guitar in one ear and hear background beat in the other. Or for hip-hop music, I hear a beat a lot more in one ear, even a singer's voice is occasionally louder in one ear. Can anyone help me with this problem, cause I really hop it isn't a jack problem.

Widget audio question/problem help

im currently having an issue regarding audio.
i made a widget with audio. it plays properly but the problem is after i play it and close the widget i have another audio on the page.
tapping it wont play. the only thing i can do to make the page audio to play again after tapping is to navigate thru some pages and play something else and then go back to the previous page for it to play.
im thinking that the audio inside the widget is not making me play the audio outside the widget after i play it. is there a way to refresh the audio inside the widget after it plays. then maybe after playing the audio inside the widget i can play the audio on the page after closing the widget.
i cant believe i use the word widget so me

i just tried making a new book with just one widget and audio and the results is the same....
if i play the audio in the widget first and exit the audio on the page wont play. but if i play the audio on the page first it plays and opening the widget after.
i just noticed when i play the audio inside the widget and close the widget without letting the audio finish, when i went back and open it again it plays where i left off. maybe this is the reason why the audio on the page is not playing after playing the audio inside the widget. i think the audio inside the widget never restart automatically.
is there a workaround in that?
the only way i can play the audio page after the audio in the widget is to navigate away to tahe page and play something else then go back

Audio CD problem/Help?

When I burn an audio CD none of the other five players I have will read it. Only my iMac will recognize the disc as an audio CD. I have tried five types of media(non RW), several burning methods including: iTunes, Disk utility, third party apps... I just bought this iMac in july and have just recently tried to burn audio. Could this be a laser alignment problem?

Update. Called apple. They think that it is an alignment problem and are replacing my drive. I hope withdraw while it is being repaired is not to bad:)

Audio / video driver help

I recently formatted a friends lenovo laptop, to the same operating system (win xp sp3), and I can't seem to properly install her audio and video drivers.
All the product/model numbers are
3000 n100 0768 09u
i think 0768-09u is all that matters
i tried all the drivers on this page:

still no sound, and proper video output. wondering if anyone can clue me into what I could be doing wrong? or maybe how to locate the exact drivers that came with that model computer.

This is the proper drivers page.
It's possible that the driver is extracted to a local drive and not executed for installation.
