Audio webcam

I recntly purchased the Creative webcam live. I have no problems with installation except thing. I have no audio playback in my videos. Anyone able to help here? Why cant hear any sound in my videos?
Are their any types of sound drivers that Creative would not configure with? My sound drivers are built ib to the mother board so I dont need a sound card. Could this be the problem?
Any help would be appreciated
Liz

Liz,
You need to enable Audio recording for video. See this Knowledgebase article SID7035.

  • Lync 2010 Voice & Video Support on Windows 2012 R2 SP1 RDSH & RDVH

    Hello - We have successfully demonstrated RDSH & RDVH using Windows 2012 R2, Windows 8 virtual desktops and Dell T10 Zero clients. RemoteFX has been successfully tested as well for Printing across RDSH & RDVH environments.
    Problem at hand is that we are unable to showcase Lync 2010 Voice & Video calling across both these environments (RDSH & RDVH).
    RDSH Environment
    In an RDSH environment, we observe that a Platronics headset connected to the Dell T10 thin client is able to get redirected to the RDSH Server using RemoteFX and in-turn the RDSH Server is able to detect the connected hardware. However, the Lync 2010 client,
    published using RDSH, is UNABLE to detect the connected audio device.
    As for Logitech Webcam connected to the Dell T10 thin client, we have no issues with device detection and the Lync 2010 client is able to see the connected Webcam device.
    RDVH Environment (Pooled Desktop)
    As for the RDVH environment, we observe that both the Platronics headset & Logitec Webcam connected to the the Dell T10 thin client are UNABLE to get redirected to the RDVH Server using RemoteFX. We have enabled RemoteFX via Group policy in this environment.
    Queries:
    A. Could you help providing some direction into troubleshooting/isolating the audio-device detection issue on Lync clients in an RDSH environment.
    B. Could you help providing some direction into troubleshooting/isolating the audio & webcam re-direction issue in an RDVH environment. FYI, our test bed server does NOT support GPU and wanted to check if that would be a limitation towards detection
    of these devices?
    Thanks

    Hi Dharmesh,
    Thank you for a response.
    We had already enabled Audio and Video playback option.
    But when we have tested with windows 7 desktop machine, the audio devices are detecting in Lync client in both RDVH and RDSH
    environment and we are able to make audio calls. So we are planning to test with the different thin clients. Post we will update the same.
    Thanks.

  • [solved] Radeon HD 3200 & AIGLX

    Hey all, I just purchased an HP Pavilion dm3, which by the way was a hell of a deal:  http://www.officemax.com/technology/com … rod2850237
    The machine is very thin and light, and has been the most linux-compliant laptop I've played with.
    At any rate, I've got arch up and running beautifully (after fixing HP's effed up partitioning *shakes fist*)  Everything is working:  Wireless, audio, webcam, suspend, hibernate, etc.
    My last problem is that I'm only getting sudo GPU acceleration, and no AIGLX.
    I'm running completely without an xorg.conf file (woohoo!)  Here's what I'm seeing:

  • Publishing Streams in Different rooms?

    Hi,
    So If i have someone streaming their cam and audio in a room. Then want to redirect that stream in a different room, but make it work in such a way where the user does not have to republish. is that possible. I understand you can be connected in multiple rooms at the same time. but could you detect that the camera is on in one room and redirect the stream into another?
    hope that makes sense.
    thanks.
    ...russ

    Hi Russ,
    When you connect to any room, you get a connectSession Instance,  and whenever any stream( A/V) has to be created, it requires the NetConnection which is obtained from the connectSession instance( Refer to any of the Audio/Webcam Publisher code for details about creating NetStream).
    Now if you are redirecting to a different room, it means a completely new connectSession and thus a new NetConnection, so you can't redirect the stream to a different room automatically.
    What you can do is , to have your audio/webcam publisher publishing to a different room, something like
    audioPub.stop();
    audioPub.connectSession = "newSessionInstance" ;
    audioPub.subscribe();
    audioPub.publish();
    to redirect your publisher to the new room that has the new connectSession.
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

  • Live Meeting on mac?

    Hello - I am considering using Live Meeting but I heard that it doesn't support Mac users well - specifically I heard the following are NOT available, but I am not sure if this has changed with any recent client updates. Does anyone know if the following
    are available for users on a Mac?
    • Computer audio
    • Webcam video
    • Docking of menu panes
    • Single-application sharing
    • Handout uploading and deleting
    • Breakout room setup/administration
    • Recording playback
    • English only UI
    • Desktop sharing from Mac to Windows OS

    Hi,
    As far as I know,there isn't new version of Live Meeting.
    In Lync Server 2010,Live meeting client is merged into the Lync 2010 as a unified client.
    Here is the detail about Lync 2010 compatibility.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg412817.aspx
    Hope this useful!

  • CRASHED: Microsoft has stopped working error!

    Dear all,
    Recently, I have installed Microsoft Lync 2013 32-bit on my Lenovo K2450 Windows 7 laptop. It has never been run before on this laptop. When I tried opening it, the following message "Microsoft Lync has stopped working" is displayed and closes unexpectedly.
    Other Microsoft programs like Excel, Powerpoint 2013 works fine. I have looked up similar topics on this forum and tried the methods below but still encountered the same error.
    E.g. - tried disabling/uninstalling Bluetooth driver
          - uninstalling Microsoft Lync 2013 and reinstalling it back
          - repairing Microsoft Lync 2013 and restarting
    Any help will be greatly appreciated! Any suggestions I will be happy to test/try it out. Thank you in advance!
    Here's the error message:

    There are almost always driver related.  Try booting in safe mode with networking and see if you can get it to start without crashing.  Also try using generic video/audio/webcam drivers one at a time to see if you can identify the culprit.

  • W520 Fan too noisy

    Hi,
    I have just done a clean install of Windows on my thinkpad. I had put most of the drivers on by hand, but I missed a few things like the lock key and the power manager app (I did install the battery driver, just not the app) so I downloaded system updater and got all the updates I needed (I left out the audio, webcam and network drivers because Windows has found them and they work fine)
    The fan has now got stuck on about 80% and is unreasonably noisy. I have tried switching from "Maximum Performance" to "optimal for power source" but it still seems to be running at near full whack. I dont mind when I am doing something intense, but this is just while I am browsing the web or idle on the desktop. How do I slow it down?
    I've seen there are a few applications you can get to over-ride the fan speed but is there a Lenovo solution? The whole point of the clean install was to get rid of all the rubbish I had accumulated!

    Welcome to the forum!
    My favorite one is TPFanControl, it was done specifically for Thinkpads and works fine in most of mine.
    Checking the fan is clean would be also a good idea, you need to remove the keyboard, block the fan with your finger and use compressed air to clean all dust bunnies.
    Check the Lenovo Hardware Maintenance Manual for the steps to remove the keyboard: Click me!  (Chapter 1060)
    If none of the above does help it will be about time to replacing the thermal compounds... But let's check that later

  • Few questions about reset to factory settings

    Hey!
    When you reset your laptop to factory settings (HDD Recovery), does Windows get deleted too? And audio, webcamera etc?
    I mean, when you have restarted the laptop, is it ready for use? Can you just use it like normal? Or do you have to install drivers and so on?
    I appreciate help.

    Hello Elodie and welcome to Toshiba forum.
    I will try to offer some answers:
    > When you reset your laptop to factory settings (HDD Recovery), does Windows get deleted too?
    Generally speaking everything will be deleted. With other words certain partition will be formatted at first and OS (recovery image) will be installed.
    > And audio, webcamera etc?
    Yes, everything. The whole partition content.
    > I mean, when you have restarted the laptop, is it ready for use?
    When the recovery image installation is finished after notebook restart it will be ready for use.
    > Can you just use it like normal?
    Yes.
    > Or do you have to install drivers and so on?
    Original Toshiba recovery image contains operating system, all necessary drivers, Toshiba specific tools/utilities and some additional software so everything will be installed.
    If you have more questions you are welcome. ;)

  • Is there a way to import video/audio clips from Logitech webcam?

    I just purchased a used Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro for Mac. A Logitech driver is apparently not required. I connected it to a USB port on my mini. I couldn't find any way of downloading Photo Booth so I downloaded Funny Photographer (http://homepage.mac.com/spillnerclan/fabian/funnyphotographer/Funny%20Photograph er.html).
    With Funny Photographer I am able to capture still photos.
    Eventually, I intend using the webcam with Skype. In the meantime I would like to capture audio and video clips. This is not possible in iMovie6 (at least with a USB device). Is there a way to do this? Might Quicktime PRO work? Thanks.

  • Inspiron 1525 not able to select internal mic for webcam, nor is it showing up on Control Panel, Sound, Audio Devices

    Initial problem was Dell Webcam video recording records no sound.
    In Control Panel, Device Manager, Sound Video and Game Controllers there are two High Definition Audio Devices listed: Location 1 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus) - I deduce this is the internal mic; and Location 2 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus) - I deduce this is external microphone jack. Both have the same driver version.
    The Control Panel, Sound, Recordings Tab showed 2 devices that looked identical except the bars that show green with volume were only on the first one, which is also the default one, and would detect sound if you got real close to the webcam mic when talking. Both devices displayed as 'working'.
    Accessories, Sound Recorder recordings are silent no matter how close you get to internal webcam mic.
    Dell WebCam Audio Source tab has two selections, both reading Microphone (3 - High Definition Audio Device). Both selections record sound with the EXTERNAL MIC jack. There is no way to select the internal webcam mic, it is not an option.
    Per instructions found on the web, I uninstalled the first device only in Device Manager and rebooted. The same driver version as before was installed. But now the settings have changed. Device Mgr still shows Loc 1 and Loc 2. However, under the Sound, Recordings tab there are still 2 devices, but the first one says 'currently unavailable' , is still the default, and the sound bars that go green for audio testing are on the SECOND device now instead of the first one. If you check the Properties for each device, they BOTH are showing the same location Location 2 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus), i.e., the external mic jack.  Loc 1 device (built in mic) is not showing up!!
    Accessories Sound Recorder works with the EXTERNAL mic. (How does it know which one to use, it's not giving me a choice?)
    So the Location 1 device (internal mic) is not showing up anywhere besides the device manager. I want to use the internal mic for skype and webcam. Somehow I need to get the Loc 1 device to show up on the Sound - Recording tab and in the Webcam Audio Source list? What do I do?
    Thank you in advance for your help.

    This is Vista.
    Go to the Inspiron 1525 support page. Find the small blue "Change OS" and click on the arrow. Select Vista.Then download and install these 3 items with a restart between each one.
    1. Dell System Software in the System Utilities category.
    2. Intel Mobile Chipset in the Chipset category.
    3. Sigmatel audio driver in the Audio category.
    See if it works any better after you get the Sigmatel driver installed.

  • NX Ultra Webcam, audio and video not in sync...

    I have a problem with my NX Ultra webcam. When I record video the audio is never in sync with the video. There is always like a 2 or 3 second delay. It's really annoying. Does anyone know of a way to fix this? I have the latest drivers and everything.
    Check out this link to see what I mean...
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=w7IYYi0-ZeM

    BrainDamage,
    Yes, the files are indeed large with no compression. But that confirms that the camera and soundcard are working fine. At this point, you will want to try different compression methods and / or reinstall your video codecs with the latest revisions and see if that improves your sync issue.

  • No Audio on Webcam

    When I try to record a video using my webcam, there is no sound. I reinstall the Realtek Audio Driver, but it did not work. I don't know what to do. What are my other options? My model is a Satelitte A205-S5879 and  I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. The webcam is bult-in and its name is Camera Assistant Software.

    I have the same problem also & have not found a solution. I also show a hardware buss that has no signiture so I can not install a driver. I think that may be part of my problem??

  • Webcam/Audio Input

    I am admittedly an amateur at Actionscript, but I'm trying to
    produce an example of Flash's ability to process video/microphone
    data as a "jumping off" point for other projects. My problem is:
    I am using some open source to pick up web cam movement and
    produce a matrix based on such. I have added the code to receive
    microphone input, which worked in the example (provided at
    kirupa.com) that I composed on my machine. I am trying to replace
    the "dot_mc.1=255" value with the microphone activity value
    (0-100?) yet I am getting a response of "The property being
    referenced does not have the static attribute." I understand this
    statement, but I am unsure as how to re-form this statement to
    accept variable data.
    Here is the code so far:
    import flash.display.*
    import flash.geom.*
    mic = Microphone.get();
    _root.attachAudio(mic);
    mic.setUseEchoSuppression(false);
    function initialize()
    setInterval(this,"snap",100)
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("snap_mc",this.getNextHi
    ghestDepth())
    snap_mc._x=(Stage.width/2)-(scale*w/2)
    snap_mc._y=(Stage.height/2)-(scale*h/2)
    m=new Matrix()
    m.scale((output._xscale/100),(output._yscale/100))
    now=new BitmapData(w,h)
    rt=new Rectangle(0,0,w,h)
    n=0
    for(x=1;x<w;x+=o)
    for(y=1;y<h;y+=o)
    ++n
    dot_mc=snap_mc.createEmptyMovieClip("dot"+n,n)

    Altering the dot_mc value varies the colors of the webcam
    matrix dots, so I just need the activity level on the microphone to
    act as the value and perhaps multiply it by 2 (since the dot_mc
    value can be up to 255).
    Any Ideas on how to repair this?

    Thanks for the suggestions. A few hours after posting my issue I switched everything on and all was as before. I could control the audio input level in system preferences and use the webcam for skype calls as before, using it as the audio and video input device.
    Now I have swithched the machine on again and it seems to have reverted back to the same problem as described in my original posting......very frustrating. Nothing registering on the sound input levels in system preferences. Tried restarting several times without success.
    The Midi settings for the "Unknown USB Audio Device" i.e. Webcam are as follows:
    Source Default (Grayed out)
    Format 48000 Hz 1 ch 16 bit
    M Channel volume slider is at the mid point, Value 0.49, dB 18.28, Mute and Thru both unchecked
    I Channel slider grayed out and all else blank.
    Since everything started working again I haven't touched these settings so I assume that they are the same with or without the issue.
    I know issues that occur randomly such as this are least likely to find a solution but further suggestions welcome.

  • Help - Creative WebCam Audio Control disabled

    Hi, Just set up my Creative Live Vouce webcam for Skype use and everything is going well but when I select the WebCam Audio Control to play with the different settings it appears to be disabled. No option is highlighted and I can't select any of the options. Any thoughts?Thanks.

    Yeah, it's very strange - I've been fiddling with it since; basically I get sound more often than not now when I turn it on.
    When I plug in the headphones they always work - the problem seems to be the decoder; it jumps away from the dolby PLII settings to stereo, and obviously coming in through the optical cable there's no stereo...
    Could it be something like a dodgy DIN cable, or is it something more serious?
    It's become less of an issue now - it only cuts out occasionally, which while annoying is bearable.
    Any help would be great.
