Audio Zoom Quick Key (like in FCP)

Still getting used to the switch from FCP to Premiere. Overall I am impressed, but there are still a few things that make me mental with Premierre. In FCP I can zoom in any window with the command + and return to full view with the command z quick keys. I know that just the + and \ works for the timeline in Premiere, but not in the source monitor. Is there any such thing like that in Premiere - especially when viewing Audio Wave Froms in the source monitor? That little slider bar drives me nuts and waste a lot of time. It's much quicker to just zoom in and return to full view with a key stroke like I am used to in FCP. If anyone has a solution, I would be most greatful. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Jim for the reply. I do know of that featuer toggeling the panel full screen, but what I am wondering is that once you do that, is there way quick key that will then allow you to zoom into the waveform like when you use the sliders at the bottom of the panel. In FCP, i can put the play head near the spot I want and press the command + key and it will then zoom in on a frame by frame basis - much like hitting the + key in the main premiere time line. Does that make sense? Thanks again!

can you slow audio just a bit with a quick key to check an editing point before cutting?

Logic 9 has speed fades that achieve this very easily. Plugins like Amazing slow downer could do this.
Have you tried turning the clip into an Apple Loop which follows tempo. Then slowing down the tempo of the project?

Cursor behaviour when quick key zooming

Is there a way to change the cursor behaviour when using a quick key (cmd-space) zoom?
When laying out complex forms i often need to quickly zoom in to accurately position (say) a checkbox i've just place on the page, but if i cmd-space zoom i have to then click the arrow tool before i can continue positioning the element in question.
Not a big problem with one element but if i need to zoom in tight to reposition a number of elements i've selected, the need to click the arrow tool after the zoom causes that selection to deselect. Which means zooming in on each one to position it.
In short, is there any way for acrobat to revert to the current tool after a quick key zoom?

JFrame.setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated(true) has bugs! I agree. I created my own lookAndFeel extending mostly from MetalUI components. I then made my own RootPaneUI and TitlePane, so I was knee deep in the MetalRootPaneUI code. You cannot fix the flicker problem. When resizing, the new bounds are determined and then setBounds is called on the window, either a Frame or Dialog. The setBounds call forces lightWeight components to repaint(), causing the flicker.

}What appears to happen is when a Dialog is closed over a JFrame, the cursor gets screwed up somehow. I was able to recreate the bug. I simply made a JFrame with a button that created a dialog. I then used the titleBar's closeButton to close the dialog. Just after clicking the closeButton, I moved my mouse quickly over the edge of the dialog before it had a chance to disappear. Sometimes I was fast enough and the cursor got stuck. The above code is all I could do to fix it.
The resizing was filckery or slow whether I used the real MetalRootPaneUI or my own. I also tried the dynamicLayout and noerasebackground with unacceptable trade-offs. Luckily my app only has one JFrame. So, I only setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated JDialogs, which are never resizable in my app. This means that my JFrame is the only window in the app that uses the OS TitleBar rather than my own. Although, my JFrame resizes without flickering.

Audio equivalent of keying?

Hi, this is something I've wondered about from time to time, but I've never known how to search for it in the manual or elsewhere, so while I'm thinking of it, I thought I would ask here.
Is there an audio equivalent of keying? For example, I have a sound effect, say just a constant tone, and I want it to be inaudible, unless another sound comes in, and then the tone comes in in proportion to the levels of the second sound (or the opposite of that, so that the tone is always audible, but dissipates in proportion to the levels of any other sound that comes in). If something like this exists, what is it called? Is this something STP can do?
Oh, and a bonus question while I'm here. Probably not so hard to locate this in the manual or elsewhere if it exists (apologies to RTFM people...):
Is there a way to keyframe effects? (e.g., could I have tone shift over a duration, or have the frequency on ring shifter drift over a span of time, etc?) If so, how is that done?

Bonus Answer - The same thing goes for nearly any effect, equalizers, reverb, etc.,
The additional step needed is to add the plug-in to your mixer and then view the plug-in parameters in the lower left pane. You need to check the ones you want to automate, this parameter will then show up in the envelopes for that track where you can key in your automation data.

NOTE - all of this automation can be written in real-time by adjusting the desired control on-screen, either in the lower left pane or the plug-in itself - as long as you are in touch or latch automation mode (the toggle menu at the top of the screen).

I can play video with sound on sites like YouTube and embedded audio clips work on some sites, but recently, I cannot hear embedded sound files on video and audio clips on sites like Tumblr and Wikipedia. How do I fix this?

How to create apple quick key to lock screen in 10.6.8 WITHOUT using screen saver or expose feature.

Hello All,
I frequently use my mac in an office that many of my co-workers have access to. I'd like to know of a quick way to lock my screen without putting it in sleep mode or using the screen saver/expose feature. I have the Lock Screen icon in my menu bar but i'd like to know how I can assign a quick key to quickly activate the "Lock Screen" function.
Any suggestions?

Send to back quick key = unexectedly quit

I'm running Illustrator CS4 Standard on a PC. When asking an element to be sent to back via quick key function - Illustrator unexpectedly quits. What's up?

I'm on a PC. With the object I want to send to back selected I hit. . .
Control . .shift. . .bracket key
Doing that doesn't make it unexpectedly quit 100% of the time - probably
more like 80% of the time and only after working in the program with

All of the movies that we watch on I tunes have intermittent interruptions to the audio. It's like a one second blank every 20 seconds and we miss what is being said. This is independent of which movie is playing. Our Apple TV is hardwired.

Our Apple TV receiver is hard wired back to our network hub and the hub is working correctly. There is no problem with the video. What could be causing this problem?

I own the movies and I want them to stay in my iTunes library basically forever.
But in both cases the file name no longer shows in the movie list, so I don't know how to re-download it from the Cloud.
iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

and techncially, you don't "own" the movie, You simply have a license to use it.
Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.

FYI: You should keep copies of all yoru iTnue spurahses as the labels/movie studios/copyright owners can pull their product at anytime and it won't be available to redownload.

Workflow question - need to do quick speed adjustments in fcp and maintain

Tried the documentation first...
I have a project where I will be adjusting the timing (speed) of most of the clips. Once I have the video and audio locked i will undue speed changes in fcp and use motion to get the most precise results / renders. Check me if I have this part wrong.
to facilitate editing i would like to do the speed changes for a clip in fcp and keep it's associated dialogue track in sync. ultimetly this will be a silent film so the dialogue will fall away. is there any way that speed changes applied to a linked video and audio clip can be made in fcp while preserving pitch? otherwise higly annoying to edit.
if not and i have to go to sound track pro to maintain pitch what does the workflow look like to make speed changes and keep audio at the same pitch.

That's what I am doing with Batch Export now. I just wish that I didn't have to create a new destination folder for each bin. This is an insurance documentation project. W/o going into too much detail, I have 3100 clips from 54 different buildings, 395 different units in those buildings and the clips for each unit in their own bin. I need to keep that structure intact as I export.
I'm guessing that using Batch Export is the only way to go with out an upgrade to go straight to compressor from the Browser.

Bridge will not let me reject files using the quick key: option+delete

This is really starting to frustrate me. I'm trying to move quickly some large quantities of files however, for some reason all I get is a error tone when I attemp to reject a image with the quick key after selecting it, or in full screen preview.
I'm running a OSX 10.9.1 Macbook Pro, with the CS6 Production Suite, Including Adobe Bridge Ver 5.0.2.4
Can anyone shed some light on why this might be happening? Or what the next possible step would be?

Not a mac person, but frequently a tone when doing task is a warning from the OS. Tone may be coded to indicated error.

Sorry, but no. The only Apple router with an audio output jack is the AirPort Express.

How can I change the measurement of the kerning quick key? (When you press option + arrow keys)

Right now when I am using the quick keys to kern type, everything jumps too far. I want to lower the measurement or unit that it moves when I use this, as it is currently driving me nuts.

Not likely you can change it, unless something out of wack is causing it.

In photoshop under Help>System Info find the version of photoshop at the top of the list?
Which version of photoshop were you using before?
Have you looked in the Character panel while kerning to see the increments of kern while pressing the shortcuts?

Can we define own short cut keys like shift+a for check boxes

My problem is that on a specific form i have 30 check boxes with the labels like c1, c2 c3 ...
The user wants as access key for every check box to rid of the mouse by checking all the items one by one.
Oracle developer access key option does not solve this problem . Is there any function in oracle by which i can define my own short keys like shift+1 for 1 and shift+2 for 2 .....

You can do this by using an ampersand (&) in front of the character in the Label.
The ampersand will not show up in the label itself.
For example, Print &Forms will define F as the shortcut. Print &Queue Manager will define Q as the shortcut.
