Audiobook "get info" no longer works - itunes treats my audiobooks as music

When I add my audiobooks to Itunes it no longer allows me to "get info" and change them from music files to audiobooks. It just doesn't save., Anyone know how to fix it? Have tried uninstalling and going back to an earlier version but it doesn't work.

Try Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.

Get Info no longer works in iTunes store?

Whilst browsing in the iTunes store I often like to 'Get Info" on the tracks im looking at to see the songwriters and other info. Having just upgraded to iTunes 9 it appears that that function is no longer available (unless you actually buy the track and look at it in the normal Library window). Does anyone know whether this is the case or am I just missing something??

Find one of those "greyed out" songs on the exHD.
Right-click > Properties
The "Read Only" box should be blank.
edit: Or you could just right-click > properties on the exHD drive letter, and set everything to non read-only at once. Just make sure that box isn't checked.
Read-only tells Windows that no changes can be made to that file.

"Get Info" no longer works?

My old computer crashed a few weeks back. Luckily, I had all my itunes music on my external hard drive. I got a new laptop today and downloaded the newest version of itunes. I dragged the itunes music files from my hard drive to itunes. They showed up fine, but I'm not able to edit any of the songs using the get info feature. The blanks are all greyed out and don't allow changes. I'm just trying to change some songs to compliations so I don't get multiple artwork. It worked fine on my old computer. Am I doing something wrong?

Do you have iTunes match? You need a computer to manage an iTunes match library.

I think I solved the problem by going to File -> Library -> Organize Library

That... Everytime I click "get info" on a song iTunes crashes, but if I select more than one song and then select get info it doesn't crash... Help please, this is driving me insane D:

You may have a corrupted webpage but you can try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
launch iWeb and try again.

Try to update iTunes.
Or - Remove iTunes from your system, download from https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
And install.
In simple words (reinstall iTunes)
i guess you have updated Yosemite not clean install.
Anyway, for me updates not worked 100% stable. i always do clean install and this is the best way to go, only problem is that there are no official way from apple to make a bootable drive - all the time this is big problem...

Spotlight Get Info Button Not Working

I see some older posts asking about the "get info" button in Spotlight but no solutions.
It used to work for me also, but no longer is working.

Hi, I have no idea what a Spotlight Get Info button is, since the 1st thing I do with a new computer or install is to permanently disable Spotlight, I use EasyFind, as Spotlight isn't reliable or helpful to me...

ITunes music on iMovie no longer works (iTunes 7)

I just upgraded to itunes 7 and now the music i had on an imovie does not work - saying the computer is not authorized (but it is!!!).
The same song on itunes is fine - imovie does not play that song!

Same problem. I created my iMovie project on my iMac (G5), stored it on my LaCie drive which I then plugged in to my Mini so I could burn it to a DVD. Now I'm told I'm not authorized to use the two songs in the project - but only on my Mini. I just updated all the Mac software on the Mini tonight, and it still does not work.
I have OS 10.4.7 on every mac I own, and all the software levels are the same on every computer. However, the Mini is an Intel, and my other stuff is G5. Does that make a difference?
The project is Christmas greetings from home for the troops in Iraq, and it's my daughter's 4H project. We have to mail the DVDs by December 1 in order to get them to Iraq by Christmas, so I urgently need some answers.

Have to restart Apple TV to get Home Sharing to work, iTunes 12, Yosemite

I am running Yosemite 10.10.2 and the latest Apple TV software 7.0.3 and using the latest build up iTunes 12.
Nearly every time I sit down at the Apple TV to connect to my iMac through the home sharing system that is accessed when you click "Computer" on the Apple TV, I am unable to load video content. The videos just load (spin) forever. My Apple TV has a wired connection to a Apple Router being used as a Ethernet hub. Everything has a wired connection, but Home sharing only works intermittently. The sure fire fix is restarting the Apple TV which will restore connectivity. I have had this exact same set up for a while but have only recently experienced this issue after upgrading to Yosemite and iTunes 12.
I have tried changing the name of he iMac which restored connectivity after Yosemite was loaded initially, but I am still unable to figure out why I have to restart my Apple TV every time to get home sharing to work.

On the ATV go to settings and test your network. You must choose the proper network speed you have, its mostly a guess so you'll need to try again if needed. Once done then sign out of home share on the ATV and on the Mac then sign back in and finish by restarting the ATV. This was my sequence of events to get home sharing to work. Airplay is a good backup though.

'Get Info' command locks up iTunes 8.2

Whenever I use the command 'Get Info' (which I do often), iTunes locks up. Doesn't matter if I use the mouse, keyboard shortcut or the menu command, iTunes will lock up.
Any suggestions out there? It's getting very frustrating.

Unlockable file and 'Get Info' doesn't work

I have a file from an existing external hard drive that I brought over to my new Mac Mini. I can not delete or unlock this file. When I do a Command I (get info) the finder/desktop just flashes and no menu comes up. Therefore I can't uncheck the 'locked' box. I can't move it to the trash either.
The file is a Shockwave Plugin from OS 9 (ShockwavePlugin.class). I'm on a Mac Mini core duo, running 10.4.7
I've searched everywhere on here and can't seem to find a solution. I even tried using TextEdit and saving a new file with the same name as the locked file (to replace it) and TextEdit won't allow me as it says the file needs to end in ".rtf"

First off, thank you for such a quick reply.
I just tried doing what you suggested, hit run, and then in the bottom of the menue (below in the window where I pasted what you said to run) it says 'false'
I then tried to move the file to the trash and it won;t allow me. The eror message I get says "the operation cannot be completed because the item "ShockwavePlugin.class" is locked.
Does this tell you anything more?

I cannot get my new install of iTunes 11 to recognize my music library

I had been happily using Vista and iTunes 11 to access my music on my NAS. I had changed the iTunes media folder location to "\\READYNAS\media\Music\iTunes" and all my songs showed up in iTunes.
Then I switched to Windows 7 (clean install) and installed iTunes 11 and again changed the
media folder location to" \\READYNAS\media\Music\iTunes," but the songs do not appear in iTunes. All that appears are the three sample songs located at C:\Users\Public\Music\Sample Music.
I have enabled both "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library."
Also, I answer "yes" to the pop-up question, "Would you like iTunes to move and rename the files in your iTunes new media folder to match the 'Keep iTunes media folder organized' preference?"
How do I get my new installation of iTunes to find and use my songs on the NAS?

If you're interested in why it went wrong, and how to avoid problems next time... read on.
Changing the location of the media folder in and of itself doesn't alter where iTunes looks for existing content, nor make it add content from a new location into the library. iTunes expects everything to stay where it was. Keeping the library files on the computer with the media on an external drive or NAS creates a split library. This is harder to move to a new system or preserve during an OS upgrade. Unlike a split library a self-contained portable library in the usual layout can be moved to a new path providing the relative paths from library to media folder remain unchanged. Before upgrading or migrating a library it should be possible to rearrange the library into this portable shape, move the library, test that it works, then if necessary copy the library files back to internal storage for performance. since update to 8.2 airtunes option has gone from itunes so no music through airport express, all correct settings in itunes and have done hard reset of airport express which is working fine (green light), also iphone remote can no longer connect to itunes,

Hello I am Traveling abroad and Currently i am in Turkey do to a mishap I had to restore my Iphone 4s Verizon which had been working fine the day before. So I restored it and now when I plug it into Itunes it says that the number is N/A and the phone tells me I have no service. So I called verizon and they told me that the phone was activated. So I tried to make a call and it called but it can not send a text or use any data which is strange cause it could yesterday. When I power on the phone it tells me to wait for Activation and that it may take some time its been a day now and nothing has happened. I really need this to start working. I called verizon and they told me just to reset the phone which I had already tried and it was no help. I am in desperate need of help and any advice will help. I do have a international plan.
