Hello dusten from san diego,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you would like to re-download previous Audiobook purchases that were made in iTunes. If this is the case, please read over the information in the attached article on how to proceed.
Download past purchases from iTunes in the Cloud - Apple Support
Audiobooks
If you made a backup of these items on your Mac or PC, you can sync the items to your iOS device. You can't download these items again from iTunes in the Cloud.
If you can't find the item that you purchased in the iTunes Store, report a problem with the item. You can report a problem with a purchase made within the last 90 days. If you have a problem with an older purchase, contact iTunes Store support.
Have a great day,

  • Genre Audiobook missing (or lack of grouping in Audiobook section)

I got my new ipod nano 3rd gen today and put some audiobooks on it. They show up in the Audiobook meny. Annoyingly enough each track on it's own, but I know that's how it is even if I wish that a way of grouping them by author and book would be implemented soon.
However, previously I've done (with my 2nd gen nano) instead is to chose Genre -> Audiobook and thus getting the grouping by artist and album (author and book), but now there is no Audiobook in the genre menu... How do I get the Audiobook genre to show? Or is it impossiple?

  • AudioBooks Missing from iTunes

i cannot find my audiobooks in iTunes after reinstalling OS X Yosemite on my early 2008 MackBook Pro.  Can anyone help to give a solution?

    1) You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception to the one download rule.

    2) Report the issue. Itunes should resolve within a day:

  • ITunes audiobook missing

i've just bought an audiobook from iTunes on my iPad and i can't find it. however i received the purchase confirmation!

It should have downloaded into the Music app - have you checked in there ? When you have audiobooks on an iPad you will get an Audiobooks option under the More button at the bottom of the Music app.
Note that audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store (so they won't appear in the Purchased tab for re-downloading), so you may want to copy it to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you can take a backup copy of it - it should copy over to the Books part of your iTunes library (Audiobooks if using a Mac with OS X Mavericks+ on it).

    Thank you in advance

    You cannot redownload audiobooks.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer..  Copy them from your backup copy of your comptuer.

  • I plugged my iPhone into my MacBook and my audiobooks are gone. When I go to iTunes it looks as though I never purchased them. Please help me figure out how I might recover my missing audiobooks, thank you.

I have run into this problem once before last week and I called to solve the problem. But when I plugged my iPhone knot my MacBook again my audiobooks were gone again. If you could help me recover my audiobooks that would be great!! Thank you!

  • Missing iTunes Purchased Audiobooks after iTunes Version Update

HELP! I recently updated my iTunes version on my laptop. Afterwards, I plugged my iPhone5 into the laptop and it synced as it usually does, however, I am now missing audiobooks and other files that I purchased via iTunes. Where can I go to recover these files? I have tried to pull them from my iCloud but they apparently are not yet able to be backed up by iCloud. Where can I go to retrieve all these files?

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download them the store, but depending upon what country that you are in you might be able to redownload music, films and tv shows, either via the Purchased link under Quicklinks onthe right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes, or the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app (apps can be redownloaded via the Purchased link on your computer and the Purchased tab in the App Store app). For the audiobooks, if you don't have them in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library nor on your backup of your downloads, then if they are still in your country's store then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a redownload : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Missing Audiobooks Listing

In the past 24 hours my library list (audiobooks only) is totally missing. I can't even import the ones I have backed up on my external drive because they will not show up. The only ones that do show are only coming up when I look in my Recently Purchased lists. Any ideas?

I have a similar problem, my iPhone died today and I was going to continue listening to the book off my mac book pro... but I cant see the book. Does anyone know how to re-download the audiobook?

  • HT203167 I am missing my audiobooks after upgrading ipod to new os

I am missing my audiobooks after upgrading ipod to new os.

Even though Apple iTunes has reached agreements with the Music and Film industries, they cannot offer Audiobooks over the Cloud.
So, when you buy an Audiobook, you must download it to your main machine and hold it there. If you upgrade your hardware (iPod, iPhone, or iPad) or IOS software, the audiobook on that device disappears and you will have to download it again from your main machine. This means wiring it up "old school" and not wifi.
As a consequence, it is advisable never to buy an audiobook from a portable device as it will not sync and will not be available for download elsewhere. I did this and I had to ask Apple to "push" a new file so that I could download it on my main machine.
    Hope this helps.

  • I purchased an audiobook but missing part 1 of4 and says part one could not be found how can I download part 1

I purchased an audiobook but is missing part 1 of 4 - says original file could not be found. When I ask to find it asks for a file name - as a beginner a have no idea  Thanks

I have been getting the message from time to time over the last couple of weeks.  I just click through, and the download haooens anyway.      The other day I looged onto my accout in apple.com, and it simply wanted me to verify the ccv on the credit card.
I am glas your solution worked, but I am not sure you needed to do a full wipe and reinstall.   There is some goofy stuff going on with the store, but nothing you can't get by.

  • Audiobook titles missing?

On my new iPod Touch, some of my audiobooks show up with titles like "Part 1 of 35" rather than the real title. These titles show up normally on my "regular" iPod. The "35" appears on every book where the title is missing-- I have no idea where the 35 comes from, but it's 35 on all the books. The titles are missing only on multi-part books, though not on all of them.
Is this common, or is it just me?
Also, is there any way to see other information on the book-- album name, etc?

Hi! I believe the tagging information of your audiobooks files determines what is displayed. Are the audiobooks that you are having problems with mp3 or itunes/audbile purchased audiobooks? I have a mixture of both types, for my mp3 files I have the Author, Title and Track # in the file tag. It's possible when you added them to your touch that it used the same tagging information for a multiple transfer to the touch. You could try removing all multiple part books and re-transfer one multi-book at a time and check to see what the file looks like when it gets on the touch.

  • Audiobook or Podcast missing menu artwork?

After reading a few threads and posting some thoughts about audiobook artwork that seems to be missing from either the main menu or the music menu with ipod software, I thought I would do some research. I noticed that on the Apple website where you can preview demo videos for the various ipod models, you can see a short demo video for the ipod nano and the ipod classic (and the others). With both of these ipod models, there is a demo video for using audiobooks and using podcasts.
What I noticed is that the ipod classic demo video for audiobooks does in fact switch to artwork for the sample audiobook (Harry Potter) when the click wheel is moved over the audiobook option, before the click wheel is pressed. However, in the ipod nano demo video for audiobooks, the "artwork" side of the menu screen does not seem to switch to the artwork for the audiobook. What I did notice for both the ipod classic and nano is that the demo videos both show that there should also be some sort of podcast artwork as well. Both videos show a sample podcast from G4 with a yellow screen and both sample videos show this "artwork" (which might just be a random screen shot of the video file, like how the ipod does for movies/videos/etc. for main menu "artwork") on the right side of the menu. This happens to be a video podcast, but it does not provide an example of an audio podcast, because there is not much to see on the ipod screen in that case. Currently, I believe all ipod models have the grey podcast logo that appears on the right side of the menu and lists the number of active podcasts on the ipod (audio and video)...
Does anyone remember if older firmware from last year (when the ipod classic was just released) ever showed audiobook artwork or podcast "artwork" as it is shown in the Apple.com demo videos?

*** Apple! I just bought an ipad mini & expected it to be better than my ipod. Its bad enough that I lost paid audio books that I paid for because they are not covered in the cloud (I will never buy files not covered by the cloud again. And no I don't own a computer because I'm broke after spending money on a ipod that was old in less than a year so then bought your new release ipod & lots of money on itunes.) but geez GIVE ME AUDIO BOOK CHAPTER NAVIGATION OTHERWISE ITS POINTLESS TO USE MY IPAD MINI FOR AUDIO BOOKS AND DO IT QUICK CUZ I MIGHT JUST GO BUY A COMPETITORS DEVICE FOR IT. Get real Apple, I had to buy a Samsung Galixy S3 not because I like it better that the iphone 5 but because I had no choice due to your prices off of one of the major cell phone providers. Maybe I just should have bought a Galixy tab :/

  • ITunes audiobook downloaded but missing from Music app

I purchased and downloaded an audiobook from iTunes but it does not show up in the Audiobooks section of the Music app.
It shows up on the device when I enter the title in the iOS7 Search bar (so it definitely downloaded).
It will play when I tap on the Search hit (so it downloaded successfully).
When I tap the "back" button while it's playing I get to the "Audobooks" page in the Music app: but the book isn't shown in the list of available titles!
So it's on my device but can only be accessed via Search.
    I've force-quit the Music app.
    I've hard-rebooted by iPhone 5.
I haven't synched to my Mac in 2 years (not even sure my Mac iTunes is up to date)

The exact same thing happened to me - I downloaded an Audiobook and it entered a black hole. This is ridiculous! I even tried pluggin it into my iMac and transferring purchases to my computer and then syncing it again that way and it did not fix the problem. It seems though that other audiobooks that I did purchase on my Mac and then transferred to my iPhone worked fine, but I'd rather not have to plug it in to my Mac.

  • In iTunes I'm having problems changing the "Media Kind" with a number of playlists in the OPTIONS menu from "music" to "audiobook". After going through the steps, the next time I check the items have reverted back to "music". What step am I missing?

In iTunes I'm having problems changing the "Media Kind" in the OPTIONS menu from "Music" to "Audiobook". After going through the steps, the next time I check, the items have reverted back to "Music". What must I do to save it as an "Audiobook"?

After more digging in the Support section here and some Google work, I turned off iTunes Match and lo and behold!  I can change the media kind to Audiobook!  So, it looks like iTunes Match locked the files up somehow and for some reason.
I went into iTunes Store > iTunes Match > "No, Thanks" to disable it on the local PC.
