Audiobooks on iPhone 5c

I purchased an audiobook this morning through iTunes on my MacBook and loaded it onto my iPod Classic.  Now that I'm not at home with my computer, I've realized that for some reason only part 2 of the book transferred to my iPod.  I decided to try to get access to the full audiobook on my iPhone but when I go to iTunes on my phone and look at purchases, it only shows music, movies and tv shows.  What am I missing here?  Where can I find my audiobook purchases?

In future buy your books from Audible.com. They're generally cheaper, and you can redownload them anytime you like. Plus if you use their app you can access chapters. You can't access chapters in the Apple app, which is just a pain.

    Hi Betty,
Do you see a iTunes sync alert when the issue occurs? Try following along with the instructions in the article below to verify the audiobook syncing is setup correctly in iTunes.
iTunes 11 for Windows: Add iBooks and audiobooks to iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13698
You can download iBooks to your computer and use iTunes to sync them to your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad. You can also use iTunes to sync audiobooks to your iPod or iOS device.
Sync iBooks or audiobooks to your device
Connect your device to your computer and select your device in iTunes.
    Click the Books button.
Do either or both of the following:
Sync iBooks: Select Sync Books, then click “All books,” or click “Selected books” and select the iBooks you want to add.
Sync audiobooks: Select Sync Audiobooks, then click “All audiobooks,” or click “Selected audiobooks” and select the audiobooks you want to add.
    Click Apply.

  • Is there a helper program to use WMA audiobooks on iphone 5?

Is there a helper program to use WMA audiobooks on iphone 5?

Thanks for the link, I appreciate the help.  I've been using Overdrive on my iPad 1 for as long as it's been available, just recently got an iPhone 5.
It was difficult but I was eventually successful at downloading a WMA audiobook via Overdrive.  Had to download to my ancient Dell, then transfer to the iPhone 5.  Took forever.
Unfortunately, it completely erased my entire iTunes library, omitted chapter 3 of my book (which I was unable to recover), and completely garbled all of the "parts" and chapters of the book making it almost impossible to find my place next time I wanted to listen.  Oh, and no bookmarks!  It was a disaster, nothing like the normal terrific Overdrive product I've apparently been spoiled by for years.
MP3 only from here on out.

  • Can't find downloaded audiobook on iPhone 4

I downloaded an audiobook via iTunes on my iPhone 4. First off, the download "stuck" and I had to call apple to get it to push through. It did eventually load to my phone. I found it in audiobooks under "more" but when I tried to click it, it wouldn't do anything. There was a red circle with a square in it, so I clicked that and the whole thing disappeared. Did it delete? If so, how do I get it back and then listen to it? It really shouldn't be this difficult. I'm so confused and frustrated. Has anyone experienced this?

Itunes is a joke, ive searched everywhere to answer this question and all i see is other ppl with the same prob and no one from itunes answering. Wise the F**k up itunes and responed to the ppl making u F**king billions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can't find Audible Audiobook on Iphone 4s

    Hey everyone,
First post here, so hopefully I get this right.  I've searched around and can't find anyone with a problem similar to mine.
So I downloaded a book from audible.  And when I put the book on my iphone, i went to the audiobooks section to listen to it... and its not there!  However, If i type the name of the book into the spotlight function, it does show up. And if I select it, it opens the itunes app and plays it.  So i know its on my phone I just can't figure out where my phone is storing it if it isn't in my itunes app.  (i also have not downloaded the audible app so I know its not there either).
Can anyone tell me how to find it?  I wouldn't mind having it on there so much, except that now i've finished listening too it and want to take it off... but since I can't find it... I can't delete it.
    Help?!
    Thanks.

  • How to CORRECTLY Remove Audiobooks from iPhone

After much trial and error, I have finally unlocked the mystery of how to remove Audiobook files from the iphone without changing the file name or type.  Here are the steps:
    1.  Plug in your iPhone to your computer
    2.  Launch iTunes
    3.  Click on the left-hand menu option that says "books"
    4.  All the audiobooks (such as iTunes or Audible) will be here with cover art for each one.  If you right click on these titles, you will have the option to "Uncheck Selection" or "Check Selection" depending on whether or not it is on your iPhone.
    5.  If you want to remove an audiobook from your iPhone, simply right click and select "Uncheck Selection"
    6.  Sync your iPhone
    7.  If you are still having problems, you have probably changed your sync options for music.  Change them so that you are only syncing selected items(there are 2 different places to control these options, the "Summary" tab(which should have the "Option" "select songs and videos..." checkbox checked) and the "Music" tab(which should have the "selected playlists, artists,..." checkbox checked).
    8.  Magically those pesky audio books that you know and love are no longer on your iphone
    9.  Write Apple a nasty email and ask why $10 million in audiobook revenue hasn't warranted a software change to make this easier to understand and do.

Thanks for the suggestion and I can certainly do that but it seems less then ideal. I actually already had set my iphone to only sync selected music playlists and until I read your suggestion I didn't realize that a new playlist had been created and checked to sync! I wonder why Apple treats Audiobooks inconsistently from an interface point of view to podcasts. Both show up as Library items in the Itunes pane, both have special category buttons to access in the ipod application and both store the listening position you were at when they sync back to itunes. Yet when it comes to how to specify sync preferences to the iphone one has it's own tab (podcasts) that allow you to a number of useful options such as ALL, SELECTED or ALL UNPLAYED and audiobooks get a playlist that only shows up on the iphone music sync panel and is either all in or not ???! Wow Apple's UI watchdogs must have been asleep at the wheel! I would have expected the exact same treatment as podcasts perhaps just putting another listbox of books and the same choices as podcasts on the same tab in the iphone sync UI panel.

  • How to get Audiobook on iphone to itunes

I purchased an audiobook and a book by the same name and downloaded them on my iphone. The book syncs with my itunes but the audiobook doesn't. I dont't even see an audiobooks category in itunes. I have the latest version and already looked in edit > preferences. There is no option for "audiobooks" there.
So i tried to go to the itunes store and download the already purchased audio book but in the itunes store it wants me to purchase it! No "download" link. How do I get the audio book from my iphone to my itunes?

You should be able to copy it from your iPhone to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, and it should then show in the Books part of your iTunes library (there isn't a separate audiobooks section, they and ibooks both go into Books).
Also audiobooks are currently a one-time only download (the same as ringtones) so you won't be able to re-download them from the store - so ideally you'd take a backup of it.

  • Deleting photos and audiobooks from iphone

How do I delete photos and audiobooks from my iphone? How do I see how much memory I have left?

By not syncing them on next sync.
To see what is available, go to Settings, General, then About.
    Or plug into iTunes.

  • How do I remove Audiobooks from Iphone???

Unlike Podcasts or music, audiobooks seem to be always put on the iphone even after they have been listened to. I cannot seem to find any way of getting them off the iphone after I have listened to them besides removing them from my itunes library or changing them to some other media type. Anyone figure this one out? Why doesn't Apple allow you to check off whether you want individual audiobooks put on your phone in a manner similar to podcasts???

  • Syncing audiobook between iPhone and MacBook

    Hello,
is it somehow possible to sync the current position of an audiobook between MacBook and iPhone?
E.g. if I listen to an audiobook on my MacBook and want to continue on my iPhone I need a way to sync the current time.
Does anyone know, if there's a way?

Assuming you have sync contacts with the Address Book selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, try resetting the sync history on your Mac. This is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application if your Mac is not running Lion.

  • Disappearing audiobook from iPhone and iTunes

Hello. An audiobook I downloaded onto my iPhone 5C 10 days ago played fine for a week, and has now disappeared completely. Everything else is still there. It also doesn't appear in my iTunes library on my Mac; no trace at all, anywhere, as if I had never purchased it. It disappeared after I synced my iPhone with iTunes on my MacBook Air. It's still in the iTunes store, but I would have to pay all over again to download it. Any tips very gratefully received!

  • Re: audiobook download to iphone - how to listen to audiobook on iphone without wifi?

If you rent from your iphone, then you cannot watch from any other device.
Why can you not download it to your iphone?

  • How can I get audiobooks to iPhone

I just purchased an audiobook through the iTunes Store. I'm told its not available in iCloud. Can I still get it to my iphone? Sync-ing doesn't seem to do the trick.

    1.  Have you downloaded the audio book to your iTunes library?
    2.  Have you selected "Sync Audiobooks" in the bottom part of the Books pane in iTunes?  You may have to scroll down to see that part of the screen if using a laptop.
