Audioslave Album Song Names Different on iTunes?

When I import Audioslave's self-titled album to iTunes, the names of songs 11, 12 and 13 are changed from 'Bring Em Back Alive', 'Light My Way' and 'Getaway Car' to 'Intuition', 'Honey Honey' and 'How My Heart Behaves'. When I rip via Windows Media Player, the songs have the correct names. Why does this happen? Are they songs from a completely different band!?

Anyone?

  • Song Name Error in iTunes

For some songs in iTunes, when added to the library the name of the song is, for example, Dashboard Confessional - Hands Down. iTunes is for some reason automatically adding "artist -" infront of the song name. This can be fixed by right clicking the song and pressing "Get Info" but when you have hundreds of songs that this is happening to it takes a bit of time.
Anyone know of a fix for this?

iTunes displays what info is on the songs ID3 tag (aka Get Info). So the only fix is to correct its tags.
If these songs are being imported from a CD into itunes, you need to rightclick and hit "Get Info" on the CDs name BEFORE Importing

  • Generic track names instead of the correct artist/album/song name

I've uploaded songs to my itunes library for the past year on my ibook G4, and the bought music CDs I imported always displayed their full information (artist, song title, album etc). I just replaced my malfunctioning 40 GB black and white ipod with the 60GB color display video ipod, and now every music cd I try to import shows up with generic track names and no artist or album title. Is this due to the fact that I started using a new ipod? Or did apple change itunes within the past few weeks so that every music cd now shows up only with this generic info? Is this a copyright security measure issue?
    Thanks in advance.

To get the track names etc., when importing a CD, you have to be connected to the Internet.
    This article explains why.
To get the info later, select all tracks (with the generic track names) of an album and choose 'Get CD Track Names' from the Advanced menu in the menubar.
Very often the correct information will show up.
    Hope this helps.

  • 10.1 Grid View Album Song "Name" Column Gone?

In 10.1, Grid View, when an Album is selected and its individual tracks are shown, the "Name" column is no longer visible and there is no way to turn it back on, either in the contextual menu accessed by right-clicking in the column header or in View > View Options (Cmd-J). "Name" is not an option. The "Name" column is visible in the other view modes (Song List, Album List, Cover Flow), but not within an album in Grid View.
I've deleted the preferences and restarted iTunes, but no change.
Anyone else experiencing this or have any recommendations?

    kentonkeeter,
This is the way I would approach it:
    - Quit all applications
    - Remove ~/Library/Caches and ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist
    - Log out of your user account, and then log back in and test
    - Additionally, you can quit all applications and remove both com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist and com.apple.iTunesHelper.plist, then log out and in to see if that has an effect, although I normally wouldn't expect them to.
    If the same issue persists:
    - Quit all applications
    - Remove ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins (you can drag to the Desktop so as not to lose it; you can always put it back)
    - Log out and in, and test
Normally, this will take care of the issue so long as you follow the steps in order. If not, normally the next step is to isolate ~/Library/Preferences entirely by quitting all applications, re-naming the Preferences folder (like to Preferences1), and log out and in and test. Keep in mind when logging back in, your account will change appearance. You can revert these changes by once again quitting all applications, renaming the current ~/Library/Preferences (like to Preferences2), then change the original folder's name back to Preferences. Then log out and in.
    Hope this helps,

  • Song Count Different in iTunes Library and iPod

I am perplexed now. iTunes says I have 6643 songs in the library, and it says it is fully synched with my iPod. Yet the iPod thinks it has only 6603 songs on it. I have gone carefully through the library, and every song thinks it is downloaded. When I mount the iPod, and highlight it in the Source column, the library also reports that the iPod has only 6603 songs on it, so it agrees with the iPod. So what are the 40 songs that the library has that won't download onto the iPod?

Solution found. I find this amazing, but the iTunes library and the iPod treat duplicates in different ways. In iTunes, if one accidentally ends up with a duplicate song (for example by ripping the same CD twice, not realizing it was ripped before) the iTunes library shows the song twice (and the underlying mp3 files exists twice in the store). And the number of songs showing in the library includes both copies of the song, the original and the duplicate. If you then synch up the iPod, however, iTunes only loads one copy of the song to the iPod. So in my case it transpired that there were 40 duplicates on my computer, none of which downloaded to the iPod, and that is why the song count was higher in the iTunes library, and why the volume of music in the library showed as 240 MB more than what was in the iPod. Very strange design that iTunes knows enough not to download duplicates, but still shows them in the library. Solution is to go to Edit / Show Duplicates in the iTunes library, but be careful as there will be many false positives.

  • Capitalization in artist name different in iTunes and on iPhone

I recently found that when I change the capitalization of an artist's name in iTunes, that change does not carry over to my iPhone when I put the music on the phone.
For example, I had the artist Built to Spill classified as "Built To Spill" in iTunes, so I changed the artist name to "Built to Spill."
But when I put their albums onto my iPhone, it lists them as "Built To Spill" with the capital T, even though I changed it.
I'm not sure why my iPhone isn't recognizing the change in capitalization. I'm really nitpicky when it comes to organizing my music, so this is really annoying to me. Please help!

I also have the same problem as you. I changed "Panic! at the Disco" to "Panic! At the Disco" on my iTunes but it didn't change when it was synced on my iPhone. Help!

  • Purchased albums don't show in iTunes ... playlists missing

    Hi!
I'm using iTunes 7.3.1. and have noticed that none of the albums/songs purchased from the iTunes store do not display when I click on "Purchased" within the STORE section on the LH side of the screen. The files themselves are fortunately still there.
I also note that many of my playlists have disappeared although the playlist name still appears.
What might I have done to cause this. Help appreciated
    DAVID

    Ken:
Delete the iPhoto, iTunes and the iApps preference files. Then launch iPhoto followed by iTunes. See if that will let iTunes view the iPhoto albums.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Mac recognizing artist, song name, etc.

i'm trying to load up itunes on my wife's mac, i use a PC for myself. Don't know why, but the computer is not reading artist name, album, song name off of the cd's. Everything goes on to itunes as unidentified track 1, 2. 3 etc. Is there some setting that I'm missing?

Is the Mac connected to the internet when you are importing your CDs? iTunes picks up the track information from an online database. It will do this automatically if you are connected while you are importing or you can do it afterwards by connecting to the internet, highlighting the tracks and going to Advanced>Get CD Track names: iTunes for Mac- I don't see the names of songs
Also, what sort of CDs are they, commercial CDs or CD-Rs? If they are mixed ones you made yourself on another computer the track names will be seen as Track 01, Track 02 etc. and the information has to be keyed in again by hand (unless someone uploaded the information to the CD database): How iTunes remembers Audio CDs

  • WHAT ARE THE NUMBERS IN FRONT OF THE SONG NAMES (I.E. 1,50,31)

  • Why does iTunes display the same album art for different songs, but from the same artist?

    Hi,
a couple of days ago I decided I wanted all of my songs to have an album art. Before I didn't actually care, but since I discovered the view mode with the album arts at the top (the fourth one) I began searching for the right arts, since I like it this way.
I've stumbled upon a problem though. When I add two or more songs from the same artist, iTunes chooses to assign the same album art to the songs. It chooses the album art of the song I added first to my music library. How do I get it to show the proper album art?
I use a program called 'Mp3Tag' to change all the information of my songs. When it's just a single, I end up having an 'artist', 'title', 'genre' and 'cover'. The rest of the information doesn't bother me. With albums I add more information though.
    Here's an example:
I added two songs, one being 'Usher - Climax (Kaskade Remix)' and the other one being 'Usher - Scream'. The one added first was 'Scream'. As you can see below, iTunes somehow assigns the same album art to both songs, while clicking on 'get info' clearly shows the songs have different album arts.
    I discovered something else though:
When adding an 'album name' to the songs, they will show properly, as seen below. The thing is though, I don't want to add an album name. When I sync the songs to my iPod, my 'albums' list will show all of the songs as well, which I don't want.
Is there any way to solve this another way where iTunes won't sort by album, but by song title?
    Thanks in advance.

Can anyone please answer my question?

  • How do I create albums in iTunes, change song names/artist names, etc!!??

Ack! Please help me! I am a total dummy and I have no clue how to use my iPod video 30GB. First, I connected iTunes and all my old songs (previously dl from kazaa and limewire) were transferred over, only since the sharers spelled the artist names differently, I have Led Zeppelin (and every other artist) spelled a million different ways so all of the songs are listed in my library separately.
So, um, I need to know how I can at least manage my albums or whatever so that I can put all songs by one artist in one place and just name it something different, and also, if I do this in iTunes and then hook up my iPod will it automatically update to reflect these new categorizations? Also...if none of that is possible, how do I delete all of the songs from my iPod and iTunes so that I can try to arrange them differently in my music folder so that when they're imported into iTunes they can all be placed together more correctly?
Could it have something to do with the fact that when I installed iTunes I selected the option to "Do it myself" rather than "iTunes do it for you" option when selecting the songs from my music folder? ANY help would be so so so greatly appreciated!!!!!

In iTunes, right click on the song and go click on the selection 'get song info' (Or somthing like that, I`m not 100% sure, but i think it it similiar) and you can change what you want in there.

  • ITunes mixing up song names and the album artworks.

This is hard to explain but I'll do my best. For the record, I have 2 iPods that sync with the same playlist (iPod Touch 2nd Gen 4.2.1 for main music and iPod Nano 5th Gen for excercise). I decided to rip a recently purchased CD today and sync it to my iPod. I opened iTunes like normal and I noticed a bunch of unwanted songs in my playlist I use for my iPods. Upon investigation, I noticed the songs are my normal songs, but iTunes has given them the title and album art of a different song in my library. When I click Get Info the correct song name appears in the title box. When I click ok to get out of that menu, the song returns back to the normal title, artist, and artwork. (An example, a song titled Amarillo Sky by Jason Aldean was really Do I by Luke Bryan. When I left Get Info, the song corrected its info back to Do I) After rebuilding my entire playlist and having to re-locate several songs that were now listed under incorrect titles and artists, I syned my iPod nano and realized that some of the songs under the "Songs" category aren't in alphebetical order like they should be. This really bugs me as I like my songs to be in order. To make matters worse, iTunes insists on changing some of the songs back to the incorrect title after I fixed them (Love in an Elevator by Aerosmith keeps getting turned into Eat the Rich by Aerosmith). Any suggestions to fix this ordeal?

Try signing out of the iTunes store. If that doesn't work try rolling back to an older version of your iTunes database as described in Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.

When I sync iphone to itunes, why do my soundtracks not show as albums but via artist?  IE: Pulp Fiction has 16 songs by different artists.  In itunes I can pull up pulp fiction and play the 16 songs.  In iphone sync the 16 songs are seperate and listed by Al Green, cowboy junkies etc... How to fix this so the ipod part of my iphone will show & play the soundtracks as albums... thanks.

What is selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
If you have chosen selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres - if Pulp Fiction is available under the Albums section to be selected as an Album to be transferred to your iPhone, is it selected?
If so, when you select Albums via the iPod on your iPhone, the album is not available there to select?
You can always create an iTunes playlist with these songs placing the songs in your preferred order.
