Auditing Oracle Mail

Hello,
Is there anyway to audit Oracle Mail? I just wanna know who is talking with who. I don´t want to archive all messages, just list (like a report as well) from user to user.
Do I need 3rd party software to this?

Oracle Mail webclient error and Oracle Files web error

Having some problems with Collaboration.
I've made a single-box installation on a Windows 2000 with SP4.
The installation was successfully done.
The problems that I have are listed below:
1) Error in Oracle Mail webclient
When accessing the Oracle Mail webclient, I'm getting the following messages:
"Application Error. An error occurred during log in"
then, when I click im "Mail", I get:
"Application Error. Error occurred while refreshing folder list"
I've tried the steps related in the 247517.1 document, but I'm still getting the same errors.
On the Collaboration Suite start page (when user logs in), the user can see the Oracle Mail portlet whithout any problem:
Welcome to Collaboration Suite Mail, USERID
You have 0 message(s) in Inbox.
0 unread message(s), 0 voice message(s), and 0 fax message(s).
2) Oracle Files is not accessible in the HTTP page.
I can access the Files by a FTP client, but when I try the http://host:port/files/app url, iget the 503 error message.
I've seen a lot of messages about this here in Metalik, but none of them could solve my problem.
Any Ideas?

Oracle Mail Configurations

hi all. I am trying to switch to OCS specially for the Oracle mail service. I am facing problems in configurations of Oracle mail services. Even after trying so hard for weeks i couldnt come up with any solution. No mail sending and and no mail recieving not even mail from same domain. i have tried adding my domain in to local domains. even that is not helping me. Kindly tell me a way or solution so that i can just enable this service and start testing it before i could implement it in my office. Waiting for a solution.

Thanks for the help, reinstalling helped me and now all systems, service are up and working...Thanks Alot once again. BTW i am using OCS 9.0.4 on microsoft 2003 enterprise server.

Customizing Oracle Mail SSO login screen

Hi all..
I just wanted to know how can we customize the Oracle Mail SSO login screen ( login.jsp file) so as to put Corporate logo and remove the unwanted Online help content etc.. Is there any way to customize the screen other than editing the sso/login.jsp file manually ?

Can any one to tell me how to customize Oracle mail UIX Pages.I want to add advertisements and links to our application in oracle mail.I tied to import UMClientApp.ear to JDeveloper 10g preview edition but when i try to open any uix file i had the following error "UIX runtime failed to render the page ...."

Please remember this is not supported by Oracle or me. You'll need to get a copy of jspell html war file and deploy it to and OC4J instance as jspellhtml and make sure it works. I created a separate oc4j instance just for this. I also created a spell check button that I can email you if you like. In the $OH/j2ee/OC4J_UM/applications/UMClientApp/um_client/templates theres a file called message_compose.uix that youll need to edit. BACK IT UP FIRST!!!! Read the docs on using JSpell, youll only need to add two things. The javascript and the button for the user to click to spell check the email. You should be able to look at the uix code and get a good understanding of whats going on and where to put the code. If not let me know and Ill try to help. I could always just send you a copy of my message_compose.uix too.
Ive been using it for about 9 months now with no problems. I understand that Oracle will have a spell check in the 9.0.4.2 patchset for OCS. Ive also been told that its not as nice as this hack.

Trying to configure syslog process, for Oracle auditing, Oracle 10gR2

Folks,
I am trying to use the OS (UNix Sun Solaris 10), syslog process. So I can write my Oracle db 10gR2 audit logs to a location, where Oracle userid on unix cannot modify/delete.
For that I have set following values in the Oracle 10gR2 parameters :
audit_file_dest string /flood/u01/app/oracle/product/
10.2.0/db_1/rdbms/audit
audit_sys_operations boolean TRUE
audit_syslog_level string USER
audit_trail string OS
Actually I have set audit_syslog_level = 'user.notice' value in the database
Also made following entry in the syslog.conf file

user.notice /var/log/oraaudit.log
# if a non-loghost machine chooses to have authentication messages
# sent to the loghost machine, un-comment out the following line:

By chance did you restart the database and syslogd? ( I think that a "kill -1 syslogd" will work for that.)
Your configuration looks very similar to what I did - and mine is working ok. One difference I noticed: when I do the "show parameter audit", I get the whole string of "audit_syslog_level string LOCAL5.NOTICE"

Auditing Oracle

Dear all,
I have a problem that out of a sudden sessions gets disconnected for some users from core application built under Oracle 8i and forms 4.5.I enabled auditing to database but couldn't find any helpfull information!!!

To modify it for the logoff event you need to replace after servererror on database with before logoff on schema.

Sending Attachment via oracle mail packages

Hi,
I am using utl_smtp and utl_tcp pacakges to send an e-mail. I would like to send an attachment through it, is this possible? and if yes how do i do it?

I am frequent visitor and contributor to this forum.
About the link, I waned to try the same thing as I never tried this before and I am getting some hickups.
May be you can help as you seem to be familiar with this subject,
1. I down loaded the two java packages one for mail and one for activation from Java web site.
2. Executed the down loads which provided me with mail.jar and activation.jar
3. Zipped them again using Winzip as per Tom's suggestion(this may be where I may be doing some thing wrong).
4. Transfered the mail.zip and activation.zip to my UNIX server and have our DBA try loading the files under SYS account. It is throwing error, following is the loading endeavor just for mail.zip, the other one just similar.
$ loadjava -u sys/manager -o -r -v -f -noverify -synonym -g public mail.zip
initialization complete
loading : mail.jar
creating : mail.jar
Error while creating resource mail.jar
ORA-29547: Java system class not available: oracle/aurora/rdbms/Compiler

Auditing Oracle Data

Being on this board I've found what asking questions often more difficult than answering them. Most of people have problem with that and I am one of them.
This one is also not easy to raise because it is wide-ranging
I am looking for good examples and opinions for detail table data auditing.
Very large table, 9i, high level of all DML transactions, there are manual transactions and several ETL processes

What, precisely, do you mean by "purged and archived"? This is a terminology issue. Let's say: Audit table will be partitioned, and old data periodically moved to archive.
What's what I was afraid, to go to details too much...
Why are you trying to design your own?-There is another applications using the audit table, building reports and something else.
-This actually a "revolutionary" decision to switch to Oracle auditing and this is certainly a management issue as a high risk decision.
-Timing, may be...Not even sure if auditing features are available
I'd certainly be looking at Oracle auditingWell, this is already a helpful advice, and I would like too.
Can we do all this for one or several tables in 9.2.08?
I probably have to look at documentation and make some experiments if possible.
I still would like to see some good links on it.

Auditing oracle applications

We have r12.0.4 installed on solaris..
Now the management is asking to audit all the financial users, basically they want
to know the user login ,log0ut, transactions he/she did, daily activities.
Told them that this will be heavy on the systems..need some additional
points about auditing ...is the above achieveable through auditing ?

It is not feasible to enable auditing on all applications users and all transactions as this would have a big impact on the system performance.
Enabling auditing on the application users can be achieved by setting "Sign-On:Audit Level" profile option.

I tried sending a mail from Pl/SQL. got a procedure in net. I gave proper hostname and portal name. The procedure is created and executed without any errors. But I am unable to receive any mail.
