Audition 1.0 (Win) to Audition 5.5 (Mac) upgrade

So the upgrade options to Audition 5.5 start with Audition 1.5, but what if I switched platforms (Win to Mac) between 1.0 and 1.5 and never bothered to upgrade to 1.5 for due to the lack of native Mac support. Is there really no upgrade path now that Mac has native support? Anyone else in this situation and gotten anything or than brickwall from Adobe? Not that being an old timer get you anything but I used from Cool Edit Pro thru Audition 1.0, then only abandoned it because my platform wasn't supported. Would love to be able to go back to those old audition files...

I think that needs a little clarification - it's only previous session files that can't all be opened, but there's an app from Suite Spot that can convert them. The audio files themselves can still be opened fine. Thing is, Suite Spot's app is PC based not Mac.

Adobe CS5 MC Win to Adobe CS5 MC Mac Upgrade

Firstly, I am in India.
I asked this on chat with customer service they asked me to contact reseller regarding product swap for this, but when I contacted one listed they said that its not possible as Adobe CS5 isn't available anymore and only CS5.5 is + they don't know if cross-os upgrade is actually possible, but since I got new macbook pro due to (better backup feature and iOS development etc) I want to get my Adobe Master Collection from my old PC to new Macbook pro and I don't wanted to go for cs5.5 due to money issue(I would sit tight for cs6). I even contacted few other resellers and distributors it seems they are not quiet interested in this deal (passing from one person to another). What should I do?.

I made another post regarding this and other issue I got due to this issue that is 'upgrading to cs5.5 first' I got that one resolved and after 3 weeks I get that product + a two week of searching around and asking resellers if they are interested in selling one. Adobe's India head alteready made contact with me regarding this issue.
For first issue that is switing to mac, I followed Bob's advice temporarly and got creative suite on bootcamp so that I can start working on projects. Meanwhile I am in middle of a project so I can't sign LOD and not use software for a week or two (might take longer since 1 week is wait time in US). I will sign LOD in next 3 weeks most probably and wait for mac version.

Audition CS6 (Bootcamp Win. 7) Crashing from built in effects / plugins

Long story short:
I own a PC license for Production Premium CS6
I just bought a new computer (MacBook Pro retina 15")
I have (successfully) set up Win. 7 using Bootcamp on my MBP
I have (successfully) installed and tested my copy of Production Premium CS6everything was working okay (i.e. - previewing clips, changing amplitute, cutting), until I tried to use the built in effects / plugins on some audio in Audition
When I attempt to add an effect (i.e. - Noise Reduction <process>), after 2-3 sec. I get a crash notice, and my only option is to "close program". This is also occuring when other plugins are attemptedno option to see an error log, etc.
My Pro. Prem. suite is literally the only thing installed on the Windows side of my MBP, and I ran Adobe update for the suite after installing. I have scoured the web looking for answers to this issue, but have had no luck yet (this includes the forums here too).
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if more info is needed about my machine, etc. please let me know (this is my first forum post).

The location should be the same - Bootcamp allows a pretty standard Windows install with some hardware-specific drivers added in.
As SteveG mentioned, you should be able to find the Audition log files by doing the following:
Open Windows Explorer and in the Address bar, type: %APPDATA% and hit Enter.
Open Adobe > Audition > 5.0 > logs
Send "Audition Log.txt" as a text file to [email protected]
You may also find more helpful information in Windows error logs. To find this, open Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer and click on Windows Logs > Application. Find entries for Audition corresponding with the time of the most recent crash and you can copy/paste the details in the message as well.
It might be worth noting that I have some suspicion that keeping out-of-date or several versions of Microsoft .NET installed may have some impact. We're still investigating, but two users with similar problems have recently reported that updating or uninstalling old versions of .NET appear to have resolved the issue for them. If you have any versions of that installed, please let me know.
Can I verify the nature of the crash, though? Does the crash happen simply when you OPEN an effect, or when you click APPLY? If it's open, are you able to adjust parameters and hear the preview okay?

How did you download it? Did you download it from withing Boot Camp Assistant and save it in accordance with the instructions? How did you try to install it? You install the Windows Support software from within Windows. Did you read and follow the Boot Camp installation guide and help files?

Sure.. the PC connects by SMB.. the Mac connects by AFP or SMB..
But you can simply share SMB directly from the Mac.. there is no need to copy files through the TC. Go to system preference, sharing, and turn on SMB for the folder you want to share files to / from on the Mac.
Make sure you have a common username and password also helps.
If you have a TC already can you copy files to it via the windows machine??

Yes.
Unlike most of Adobe's perpetually licensed software, the Lightroom serial number is multi-platform: works on Mac and/or Windows. You just need the correct installer for the platform (.dmg for Mac or .exe for Win).
If you own any previous version of Lightroom then you can buy the upgrade to LR5.

BO 4.x Auditing vs BO 3.x Auditing

Once we enable auditing, is it possible to know
1) all the universes accessed by the end user?
2) what are the objects that he has accessed from those universes?
3) when did he access those universes etc.,?
4) Would the ADS_Event table in 4.x Audit schema give those details?
5) Are there any equivalent tables in 3.x?

     No. You will know only is the Universe accessed, updated.

     You can get from ADS_Event and ADS_Event_detail table.

Adobe Audition CS5.5 Crash on Start-Up in Mac OS 10.10

I am getting this crash when starting up AA CS5.5:

The crash log indicates this occurs as Audition is trying to create the temp cache directories. Is this installation of OS X 10.10 an upgrade from 10.9? A common issue with OS X upgrades is invalid permissions on some user folders, so it's always worth checking this first.
Launch Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.app and click on your main hard drive, then select "Repair Disk Permissions." This should scan and correct folder permissions and Audition may launch successfully after.
If this doesn't help, let's verify that Audition's preference files haven't become corrupted during the upgrade. Open Finder, click Go in the menu, hold down OPTION, and click on Library when it appears in the location list. Then navigate to Preferences > Adobe > Audition and rename the "4.0" folder to "4.0.BACKUP" or something similar. Then launch Audition once more and it should rebuild everything to its default settings.
If that still fails, let us know and we can continue troubleshooting.

Audition CC and out of application memory issue (Mac osX 10.9.4)

Hi All,
I'm trying to do an "Automatic Speech Alignment" between two AC3 5.1 files (~170Mb and ~ 80Mb, ~59' each), and at 35% I'm running always out of application memory (and I cannot continue, even closing all applications and maintaining only Audition up and running).
My Macbook Pro Mid 2012 has 4+4 Gb RAM and a SSD disk.
I would like to know if I can use the disk with a sort of Disk Cache to help the process.
Any piece of advice will be appreciated.

Is the Database Vault portion of Audit Vault only for the Audit Vault DB?

Hi all, first of thanks in advance.
I am doing a bit of research in order to fulfill some security system requirements for an upcoming project. In summary the requirement states that DBAs should not have the ability to view personal health information stored in the database.
My initial thought was to use Oracle Label Security but recall that SYS is exempt from the OLS policies. Next I looked into Oracle Database Vault and the product appears to meet the requirements. However another part of the requirement states that we must prevent undetectable data tampering - which to me sounds like we need to have an auditing product in place not only to audit access and data changes but also to make sure that audit logs can't be tampered with. It seems like Oracle Audit Vault should meet the requirement. When looking into Audit Vault it mentions it comes with Oracle Database Vault and there is some wording which makes me believe that the Oracle Database Vault component is only for the Audit Vault database. Short of installing the product I thought I would post a message to see if my assumption is correct.
If the assumption is correct it sounds like we would need to purchase both Audit Vault and Database Vault to fully meet the requirement. Can anyone think of any reason we need to include OLS as well?

I imagine you are dealing with the HIPAA compliance requirements and facing the same issue faced by many others.
To audit who has viewed data ... SELECT statements ... you can use Fine Grained Auditing (FGA).
To meet the government's auditing requirements, as well as those for hospital accreditation Audit Vault will do the trick.
Keeping DBAs out of the data can be done by a number of means but the issue often comes down to the applications you have purchased and the quality of the vendors. One major source of hospital software in the US, for example, has installed thousands of systems with the exact same password for the schema owner ... and that schema owner has DBA privs.
So before your run too far down the road of closing the back door ... make sure the front door isn't wide open.

'Edit in Audition' Does Not Open The Audition App

I have a PPro CC sequence with a few audio tracks that I want to edit in Audition. When I select the command, it seems to prep files, but Audition does not open. Is that a bug maybe?

Yessir Jim - I've restarted the PC and tried different clips in the existing project as well as new projects with the same and different clips. My "Edit Clip in Adobe Audition" has never been grayed-out, like I've seen referenced in other posts, and it behaves the same way no matter if I right click on the clip and try to send to Audition or if I try via the Edit menu. Same result.
I previously had the CS6 Production Premium Suite installed and I just moved over to CC. The issue was not there w/ CS6. I'm still adjusting to CC and I had thought that I was just missing something.
I did just discover that, somehow, Bridge CS6 is still installed on my pc even though it does NOT show up in the Control Panel - Programs list. Bridge CC is installed as wlle. I'm guessing this most likely has something to do with my issue...

Error in Audit object link to Oppurtunity (Audit Management)

select available oppurtunities i get the following error message
"No values found"
However, I found that there are entries for oppurtunities (BO Type :
BUS200111) in table CRMD_ORDERADM_H.
I have created Audit object attribute type Y1 following the
configuration guide "D80: Client & Project Acquisition " from SAP Help

using windows explorer mechanism i can see the folders that i created in the CRM config.
Now in Portals KM i did the following steps:
a) Created an HTTP Data Source : with URL = the URL that the service crm_prt_km_dav generates.

b)Created a memory cache
c)Created a WebDAV respository manager with the following details:
Description :WebDAV
Prefix : /PRD (PRD is the BO Hierarchy name that i have set in the CRM config)

Repository Service : svc_acl
ACL Manager cache : ca_cm
Security manager : ACLSecurityManager
Memory Cache :webDAV(same as what i had set in step b)
I restarted the portal server. and then tried doing the test by going to
Content Admin ->KM Content ->root
But i dont see the /PRD folder out there.
Any clues on that???

Admissions audit conversion issues and "no audit found"

hello,
We used the conversion programs provided to convert any old admission in SAP that was in "created" status to attach an audit.
However, this process would not work for any approved or rejected admission records.
We need to be able to reverse a decision in certain cases or even update the year and session.
If we try we get a "no audit found" error message at the bottom of the screen.
We also can't delete these admission records to re-create them with an audit due to this error.
Has anyone run into this problem and if so...did you find a solution?

This might help in defining, creating a more advanced custom program to solve this issue.
The most easy solution is to have a new admission record. This could have the same info but has an own (new and correct) status, will have a correct audit profile attached to it and you are able to change any data in future. Subsequently you then can delete the old admission record (direct via tables or via custom program).

Audition CS6 vs CC 2014 for podcast work (mac)

Here's what boils down to a financial question.
I'm going to be working on a podcast, that will be free and will never, ever earn any money.
I currently do not subscribe to CC - I understand Audition CC 2014 will cost me $20 a month, $240 yearly.
I have a friend who works for Adobe, and I may be able to get Audition CS6 for something like a one time $40
For the kind of work I'm likely to need to do (editing podcasts to make them sound good) is Audition CS6 likely to be good enough, or is there enough new stuff in CC 2014 to justify an ongoing yearly expense?
I've also looked at Audacity which honestly wasn't bad, but it lacks some functionality, and I think my workflow might be better with Audition.
So while I'd like to keep the cost down, I am willing to spend a little money if it will make my life easier and make it better to produce a quality podcast quickly.

There's nothing at all in CC2014 that will make it any better than CS6, no. CS6 will do an excellent job of podcasts - as would Audition 3...

Slaris 10 u6 auditing - pam_unix_cred: cannot set user audit Bad address

When I switch on auditing (execute /etc/security/bsmconv command), after rebooting system I cannot login to the system. When I try to login I can see the followin message:
pam_unix_cred: cannot set user audit Bad address
I have not idea, what to do
