Audition 5.5 on Windows 7 64bit?

When clicking on the demo system requirements link all I get is a 'Broken link' message.
Will the demo of 5.5 run on a dual core Win 7 - 64 bit system?

Perhaps this is true of this forum but I doubt it. That would contradict nearly all of retail, service, and product support history. Those that have problems are 70-80% of the voices normally heard. There may be the occasionally piling on effect for good or bad, but that doesn't near equal the complainers.
If we want to bash on ME or Vista by all means, one was useless and one was a pig of an OS in either x86 or x64. However, as someone who beta tested Win7 and then has implemented it in two different business-one audio, one not-without hickup it perhaps behooves me to add a note or suggestion here and there. I wish I had time to be around more often and perhaps would if this forum were more easily accessible via smart phone such as via Tapatalk, but it isn't.
I have implented Audition 3.01 and CS5.5 on Windows 7 x64 Pro and Ultimate without any BSOD or other hickup including on two eight year old laptops. Win7 didn't even particularly require substantial tweaking though plenty of such guides exist whether through Blackviper or elsewhere.
My location recording services are classical/broadcast in nature utilizing two chained Fireface 800 (HD24XR redundant) and the track count is normally 4-16 tracks at 88.2k/24 though on occasion video services are requested and then I roll at 96k/24. I have never had any software issues and have been very happy with the agility of CS5.5. It is not as light as Reaper but Audition is much more complex and suited to my needs more fully most especially so in post production.

I have a brand new HP laptop windows 64bit that is having issues installing Itunes 10.6.3. I thought this was an issue with the new version, and attempted to retrieve/install older versions of Itunes and same issue occurs. I have tried other forums and resolution tips from : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3551 and nothing still. It appears that apple installs bonjour and nothing else. I have tried extracting the itunes package and installing the executables seperately, but everytime the error stil arises. I cannot repair the apple software update as it cannot install from the error mentioned above. Looking through the logs, it shows error : 1721, problem with windows installer package.Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try?

I updated to itunes 11, uninstalled it according to directions, and re-installed itunes 10.7.021 for windows 64bit. Now Iget the message itunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by an earlier version of itunes

How can I resolve this problem?

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

VC6. is rather old, but you can try to convert the VC6 project using the upgrade wizard of VC2012. Depending on the content of the project your code will work more or less without problems, at least it will compile without errors.
You could also go the 2nd way and create in VC2012 a project type using the wizard that is very similar to your current VC6 projcet (MDI, SDI, Dialog Based, ...). Than you replace the files generated by the wizard with the content of your project. Sometimes
this way is more successful.
But at all the automated converting success depends on the code of your VC6 project. I had both, conversions without big problems and also conversions that need a lot changes to run on a current VC version.

Reinstalling audition cc on a windows 8 computer

How do I reinstall Adobe Audition CC on my windows 8 computer, I've had to restore to an earlier date and it's no longer on my computer, files on all have been removed. So I need to download it all over again. Creative Cloud just shows that it's up to date and no way to reinstall. Is this something that can be done or should I just cancel my subscription?

There is a known issue with Dbcontrol when try accessing the URL via Internet Explorer
Can you check by accessing the Dbcontrol URL via a different browser like Firefox or Chrome

Log in to Enterprise Manager Console using Internet Explorer 7 and higher fails with "Internet Explorer cannot display this page" or with Security Certificate Error (Doc ID 1498203.1)
If still an issue then check the status of Dbcontrol to ensure its working fine

Thank you for you answer, but it isn't heart of the problem. The problem is that I don't have choose iTunes version manually, it's happens automatically, and start downloading iTunes for Windows 32-bit.

I definitely recommend 64bit Windows, the principal reason is memory addressing limitation.
In my standpoint do not exist benefits to use Windows 32bit with Oracle Clusterware/RAC.
32-bit processors have address registers that are 32-bits wide (can address up to 4GB physical RAM).
You can to use a workaround by enabling the addressing of more than 4GBytes using parameters in Windows (AWE/PAE). But if I want to use more than 4Gbytes, I'll go to Windows 64bit.
The 4GB addressable space per process is divided into system and user space. By default, the system space is 2GB and the private user space is 2GB. Each user process shares the same 2GB System address space.
The services of the Clusterware, ASM and Listener will consume at least 1Gbyte of memory initially.
If you create an instance to to use 1Gbytes and you have 50 connections you will have problems with connections to the database raising the following error.
TNS-00510: Internal limit restriction exceeded
32-bit Windows Error: 8: Exec format error
TNS-00507: Connection closed
32-bit Windows Error: 109: Unknown errorReason: Problems of memory usage. i.e. Out of Memory.
Another point:
With Windows 32-bit using Clusterware/RAC 11.1 you can set Automatic Memory Management(AMM) feature (MEMORY_TARGET) but you cannot use if you create 2 Instances on same Host.

I belive that is reason wich Oracle not support Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2 on Windows 32-bit. You cannot use ASM 11.2 on Windows 32-bit.
Definitely do not exist reason for me to to use Windows 32bit to support Oracle Clusterware.
There are lot services involved wich require memory and a big limitation of memory on 32-bit.
At present all latest CPUs support 64bit. Then install Oracle Clusterware/RAC x64, even when you are use less than 4GBytes memory, you only have benefits.
Benefits of Use 64-bit are:
64-bit versions of Windows have implemented up to 16 terabytes of virtual address space
64-bit programs use the 16 terabyte tuning model (8TB user / 8TB kernel)
No performance penalties for large memory
Unlimited user connectivity
64-bit Windows versions allow addressing of large physical memory sizes without using PAE

The GUI of the Windows 64bit version of Minefield (4.2a1pre, 4.0b13pre and earlier) is somehow corrupted. The tabs and the address bar contain vertical left-out spaces as well as other parts. The browser itself works pretty good.

PS: after applying the update of 2011-04-14 the version number has changed from 4.2a1pre to 6.0a1. What does this mean exactly? Won't there be a released Firefox 4-x64 version anymore but instead this is already an alpha for a future release?

Trying to transfer Audition preferences/hotkeys into Windows 7

Hey gang - I've loaded Audition 2.0 in windows 7, and am trying to transfer all of the customized settings I had set previously under Audition in WinXP. I've found the folder where all of the settings files are located, but under Windows 7 that folder doesn't exist! Can't for the life of me figure out where Audition stores all of these settings under Windows 7. I've searched the drive for files/folders with the same names as the old INI and XML files, but no luck. Has anyone been able to copy over their Audition settings successfully into Windows 7 without having to re-create them all from scratch?

Steve - thanks for the info. Wasn't aware of the registry issue. In the past, all I've had to do was copy over the files in the Application Data/Audition/2.0 folder to the same folder on the new system, and Audition would pick up all of the customized compression setting, etc. that I'd created previously. My issue is that after installing Audition under windows 7 x64, and customizing a few settings, I can't even locate the Application Data/Audition folder. There are other folders, but none for audition. that's what's got me confused. But I appreciate your info - I'm going to check hidden folders/files and keep looking.
