Audition adds _01 to the file names of my audio files

.I record an input and give it a file name like My test audio. What I end up with is My test audio_01.wav. Strange behaviour.

No it's not, and no they don't 'magically' get renamed again unless a file of the same name already exists - which it might well.

No it can't. Audition in multitrack mode is a direct-to-file recorder. You can't just record another file of the same name in the same place, because the OS wouldn't let you without a warning. If you wanted this as an option, then every time you tried to record another track, you'd get an OS message about an overwrite that you'd have to agree to - and that would be a PITA. So instead, when you try to do this, you get an automated addition to the end of your file, which at least lets you continue to work without interruption.
So, it's like this for a good reason, and the reason that you can't turn it off is because of the way the OS is organised, not Audition. The only alternative would be to create a new sub-folder every time you hit record on a track. How much more mess is that going to cause?

Working from my defective memory, this happened to me, but stopped if I unchecked 'Open safe files after downloading' in Safari Preferences/General.
At least I think that's how I stopped it - it hasn't happened since!

How to add Tooltip to the Iview name.

     I have to add tooltips to the iview name. When I bring the mouse over the iview
     name a message should display as the tooltip describing the purpose of the
     iview I am not able to found the tooltip option in the iview properties.
     Is there any coding involved for tooltips option or any other options available.
     Please guide me. Looking for the fast reply.

     When I gave the descripition, tool tip appears in the
     Content Admin -> Portal Content -> (Under the folder I have created the Iview).
     But the tool tips should appear in the iview when I display that iview to the end
     user.How to make that possible.

When I connect my ipad to the computer and click import photos and videos, the computer says that there are no photos or videos on the ipad it says the file is empty I can't even add anything to the file!!!!!

It looks like the card may be the problem, and your best bet is to try the Card Reader - this will make the card accessible by the Finder and you may be able to drag the pics off to the desktop or, at worst, try recover the pics with an app like MediaRecover

example of filename: u201CS141. SPPFE860. 20110421114559u201D (The plant code has to be the same used in the field STABEMT presents in the header).

I'm trying to format a 3D pie chart and the series name is nearly unreadable depending on the angle. I would like to add some space between the series name and the chart.

PSE4 - Add tags to the files themselves?

Is it possible to have PSE take the tags that I've used for a particular photo and add those tags to the image file?
I am thinking about switching to another photo organizer program and dread having to re-tag 5,000+ photos.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

There is a command in the Organiser under File > Write Tag Info to Files. This will do as it's name suggests with the exception of RAW images. The only draw back is that this will also change the DATETIME field to the date when you issue the command. If your other Organiser uses this as the date and time the image was created it will be wrong.
Out of interest which Organiser are you thinking of switching to?

Firefox crashed 2 days ago and will now not open, and won't uninstall via Control panel add/remove programs; the files are still there on Windows Explorer. IE8 still works.

My PC is a fujitsuscaleo 600, last year I had a new hard drive and some extra RAM fitted and since then has been good - have used, and updated Firefox for over 6 years. in August I installed TrendMicro antivirus and for different reasons this has been uninstalled/re-installed twice. AFter letting it expire, I re-installed ParetoLogic PC health advisor (I think in August too)and allowed it to try updating some graphics drivers following a scan - this was unsuccessful so I marked them to ignore (something about my graphics card not supporting the drivers downoladed). I can see the mozilla files on WIndow Explorer but if I click 'remove' (control panel, add/remove programs) I get a very short 'hourglass' then nothing; if I click Firefox icon I get the same. Help!

Can't add most of my files to iTunes

Hi gang. I'm looking for some help.
I got a new PC recently, and installed the current release of iTunes with no issues. I am trying to add my music and podcast files to the iTunes Library. I have over 20,000 files (~17,000 songs + ~3,000 podcasts and a few videos). All are stored in the same directory, on an external drive (a Drobo).
When I go to "File -> Add folder to Library" and select the topmost directory, it only adds ~6500 of the files. I've rerun many times and gotten the same result. I've tried clicking and dragging the file icon into iTunes, and gotten the same result. I've noticed that most of the files are by artists early in the alphabet... it's as if iTunes starts importing Abba, Adam Ant, etc, but then peters out by the time it gets to Little Feat. Zappa doesn't stand a chance!
BTW, if I try to add one of the missing files manually (by selecting the folder with the band's name on it), it adds with no problem. It's just that it's not happening automatically when I add the highest-level, "umbrella" directory. It used to work fine with my old PC. I have so many files, that I can't possibly add them all manually. I've tried everything I can think of! Any help is appreciated...

There have many reports here of large adds not running to completion. Sometimes it will die on a certain troublesome file, and sometimes there is no obvious reason.
Since you have verified that the individual files seem to be fine, the workaround is to add the folders in smaller batches.

How to add current timestamp in file moving using "Odifilemove" in ODI

I am moving some files from one location to other and want to add timestamp in the file name while moving. I am using "Odifilemove".
For ex. file name before moving is "abc. csv" it should move the file and name it like "abc<timestamp>.csv"

Here is a simple method.

call the above query in refreshing tab and select any oracle schema in a variable and call the variable get_timestamp ( please change the name as per your need )
In the package
Step1 . Refresh the above variable - get_timestamp
Step2 . In the OdiFileMove , target file will be abc_#get_timestamp.csv

What determines whether the Label name and/or Caption appears in the context help window but in other cases, both the label and caption appear in the context help window?

I am trying to polish an application, and find that I cannot seem to reliably control which of the label or caption text appears in the context help window because I don't understand what rules are in place to determine which should appear. It seems like if I reate a named constant, then use it's right click menu command "Create Indicator" I get a control with only a Label (as long as I don't add a caption). This then appears in the context help window as the label name followed by the description text (after entering some description text). But if I add a caption, the label name is shown in bracket

I thought the purpose of having a seperate caption was to make the text that appears with a control programmatically controllable, but if that control is not extended to what appears in the context help window, it limits the usefulness of the caption and forces me to re-consider some Label names. However, the problem goes deeper than that because then even when I make the label and caption exactly the same, or if I delete (via a select caption text-backspace or select caption text- delete key .. sequence) the caption for a control, the label name in the context help window still appears in square brackets!

If adding notes in browser-based review, you cannot edit the Author name used in the note tool. Its uses the fixed Windows login name shown in Edit > Preferences > Identity.
If you turn off the "Always use Log-in name for Author name" setting, the Author can be changed when adding notes in Acrobat itself, but the Author is fixed to the Windows login name in browser-based review.
Therefore, I was wondering if anyone knows if this can be changed in the Registry? I've found the login field name here (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\Annots\cAnnots\cAnnot\tauthor) but it unfortunately does not update the Author field.

You can replicate this in Acrobat 8 as follows:
- In Acrobat / Edit Preferences / Commenting, turn off "Always use Log-in Name for Author Name"
- Open a PDF in Acrobat > Add a Note > Right-click Properties > General tab > Rename the Author to "TESTING" > Click "Make Properties Default" > Click OK
- Set up a Network Folder Online Comments Repository as follows: In Acrobat / Edit Preferences / Reviewing, set Server Type to "Network Folder" and browse for a folder to save comments to.
- Open Registry and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\8.0\Annots\cAnnots\cAnnot\tauthor
- tauthor should be showing "TESTING" that we entered earlier
- Open a browser window and drag a PDF into it
- Add a Note, the Author name is fixed to be the Windows Login name.

I might add that all the files are aliases. There are 40 altogether and I am aware I could create 10 sub-folders so I only have 4 aliases in each subfolder which would mean I only have to rearrange 4 aliases each time but this is still not ideal. I have been using Macs since the 1980's and up to now files have always stayed where you put them unless you selected Arrange By in the Finder View Menu.
