Audition CS5.5 will not install

Well, I'm afraid this is hardly a new question, but, after spending hours on trying tips in previous threads, I'm no further along.  I have Adobe Audition CS5.5--a single disc Education Edition. I'm using Vista (32 bit).  It installs up to 54%, then jumps to the following message:   ----------- Payload: {D5B1535A-FDFC-4B40-B2E2-21DA83D9CB57} Adobe Audition 4.0.0.0 -----------  FATAL: DS003: Cannot extract 'D:\Adobe Audition CS5.5\payloads\AdobeAudition4All\Assets1_1.zip' to 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\adobeTemp\{D5B1535A-FDFC-4B40-B2E2-21DA83D9CB57}'. Error: Error 1 Incorrect function.   WARNING: DW036: Payload cannot be installed due to dependent operation failure  ERROR: DW050: The following payload errors were found during install:  ERROR: DW050:  - Adobe Audition_AdobeAudition4en_USLanguagePack: Install failed  ERROR: DW050:  - Adobe Audition: Failed due to Language Pack installation failure   I've tried uninstalling everything Adobe on my computer, giving "read" and "full operation" permissions in the registry per various tips, using the Adobe Application Manager and install cleaner. I also tried copying the disc over to my desktop, but it won't allow the copying of several files.  Any help would be highly appreciated! :-)

Success! One recommendation from Adobe was to try copying the files from the CD to the desktop, and then launch "setup" from there. When I tried that, I kept getting copying errors. Looking up the copying errors, I saw on one site that it could be the CD ROM.
I took the Audition CD to another computer and copied it successfully to a thumb drive, took the thumb drive back to the original computer and successfully copied the files to the desktop.
When I launched "setup" from the desktop, it continued on through like a dream.
