Audition CS6 and iTunes

No track or title info shown in iTunes when importing a CD burnt in CS6.  Is this correct, or am I missing something when creating the content?

Yeah, Audition CS6 works fine with the driver type set to MME, then using an onboard sound interface (in my case, on my laptop, a Realtek).  I'd never use it for any recording purposes but just for manipulating existing stuff I've yet to find a drawback--I do theatre work and sometimes do this for a quick edit or whatever without hooking up one of my external ASIO interfaces.
Actually, I just thought of one minor drawback--if you want to use the same session on two different sound interfaces, you have to reset the hardware set up screen each time you change--but this isn't a biggy and can be minimised by using "Save As" and a different name if it you don't need all the changes available in both places.

  • Adobe Audition CS6 and Alesis Multimix 8 Firewire choppy playback

I recorded a whole podcast using both Adobe Audition CS6 and Alesis Multimix 8 Firewire, and I originally played it back it was fine.  Now after a week I play it back in Adobe Audition and the dialogue is choppy and repeating itself constantly every second.   When I export it in a multitrack mixdown as a WAV file it still does the same choppy repeating thing.  Has anyone else run into this problem who has a fix?
    Thanks!

I don't use any Alesis products but have heard rumours in another forum that they're having some driver issues.
Maybe as an experiment you could export to a wave file and try playing that through your internal sound card rather than the Multimix.  If playback is clean when not involving the Multimix that may suggest the problem lies in the Alesis gear.  If the skipping is still there then something is likely going on within Audition.

  • Adobe Audition CS6 and Alesis Multimix 8 USB 2.0 Help Needed!

    Hey Everyone!
I have an iMac that I'm running Adobe Audition CS6 on and need some help with getting it to recognize my Alesis Multimix 8 USB 2.0 mixer. Mind you, I have no idea why Audition only lists "Internal Microphone" as my only choice under "Audio Hardware," so every ounce of help will be much appreciated!
So basically, how do I get Adobe Audition CS6 to recognize my Alesis mixer as audio hardware to let me record through it?

I'm not a Mac user but a quick look on the Alesis site suggests you may need to installed specialist Mac drivers, available here:  MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 Integrated USB 2.0 audio interface and mixer
Edited to add...it wouldn't take a direct link but if you click on "Documents and Downloads" you should get what you need.

  • Adobe Audition CS6 and Alesis Multimix 8 Firewire multitrack problem

I have the Alesis Multimix 8 Firewire mixer and am using Adobe Audition CS6 for my recording program.
I'm trying to connect 4 microphones via XLR and have them run in individual channels in Audition but I can't get more than 2 to show up on the program even though I have 3 plugged in right now. On top of that, I have to run input 1 and input 2 as mono channels instead of stereo channels to get it to work at all.
I'm looking to do a Podcast with my set up, is there a better program to use to record and edit? Or am I missing a driver for Audition or the Multi Mix?
    Thanks!

Well, first the easy bit.  Microphones ARE mono devices so using mono channels is absolutely correct.
Beyond that, you mention drivers.  There are no special drivers for Audition but it is worth going to http://www.alesis.com/multimix8firewire to see if there are any driver updates for your mixer.
You don't mention what Operating System you're using but whichever it is, you should go to the Audio Setup page for Windows (i.e. not in Audition) and make sure it's detecting all the channels from the Alesis properly.  You may have to set the Alesis as your default audio device for this.
On the Edit/Preferences/Audio Hardware Setup menu in Audition, make sure you have the proper device type selected--I'd guess ASIO for a start.  Make sure your Alesis is selected as the default hardware.
On the Edit/Preferences/Audio Channel Mapping menu, make sure you can see all the channels from your Alesis.
Finally, on the Multitrack screen, set the Input for each track to be the appropriate channel from the Alesis.  If you're going to do this regularly, I recommend you get everything set up then save it as a Session template.
And I can't think of anything better than Audition for what you want to do...that's why it's used in thousands of radio stations around the world!

  • Audition CS6 and onboard Audio

I notice that the requirements for Audition CS6 contain a:
Sound card compatible with ASIO protocol or Microsoft WDM/MM
I did a search on here, and I saw that some people are using onboard audio for CS5.5, but I wasn't sure how cs6 would handle this? I'm not going to be doing intense audio editing - simply some of the ADR syncing tools and maybe filtering out background noise.
I attempted to check different motherboards to see if it said anything about the sound on the board being compatible with ASIO protocol or Microsoft WDM/MM, but no luck. It really doesn't appear too often, except when I look at sound cards in the $100+ range.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank You!

  • Hello! I have just bought Adobe Audition CS6 and I'm having trouble installing it.

Whenever I install it I keep getting the message that it  "Failed to install Microsoft Visual C   2008 Redistributable Package (x86)" So I went to the Microsoft website and downloaded the package. That would not work either. How do I get both to work? It cost a lot of money to get this software and I would really like to use it properly. Thank you for reading.
This is the note I get whenever I try to install the program:

Without knowing anything about your system we can't even begin to advise. These libraries are used by gigazillions of programs and even device drivers, so the most plausible explanation is that one of those other tools has installed an incompatible version or has flagged them as critical so they cannot be arbitrarily removed by other installers. Either way, this is nothing that can be solved easily. Also not that you have a "display requirements not met" error there, which may point to a configuration issue with your graphics hardware and potentially cause the collateral issue with the MSVC libraries.

  • Files names written in Arabic didn't show correctly in the "Files panel" in Audition CS6

In Adobe Audition CS6 and Unlike the previous version(s) of Adobe Audition the Arabic file name didnt show from right to left in the files panel and in the file name tab as shown
please note that I did select (English with arabic Support) when I installed Audition.
It must be read from left to right. while the correct reading of it is right to left. And the example above must be read "ملف للتجربة"
    # I think this problem is common with non arabic support in all CS6 software like after effect for example.

Audition does not support right-to-left language display at this time, though I'll submit a feature request.  I doubt it will be supported for filenames until such time as the application itself is localized for Arabic and other right-to-left languages.

  • My Adobe Audition CS6 is not working

I have Adobe Audition CS6 and when I want to play something or record it doesn't work, and when I go to "preferences" my notebook just restarts, what can I do?

If it's only Audition which crashes your notebook, then uninstall and reinstall it.
But by the sound of it, there's something rather more fundamental wrong with the notebook; Audition is a pretty solid bit of code, and Windows has improved to the extent that it can catch program crashes and just send error reports.

  • Does cs6 and cs3 install asio drivers?

    Hi
does audition cs6 and cs3 install asio drivers?
does they work only for audition , or they change the Operation system
i mean can i have benefit about asio using other programs?
because using other players like foobar the audio quality looks different
    thanks

Hmm... just answered this on AudioMasters.
Sound devices have their own ASIO drivers - Audition has nothing to do with this.
...and as a result of a follow-up query, I have now indicated that Audition is inherently ASIO, and obviously has ASIO components visible in the install files, but that these have nothing to do with individual device ASIO drivers, which have to come directly from their manufacturers.

  • Audition CS6 - won't record sound but will play...

    Hi,
Hoping someone can help. I'm using audition CS6 and having a problem recording. When I arm a track and press record the song I have recorded will play, the record button highlights red, however, no waveform bar appears on the selected track and as such no audio gets recorded.
To give you some background information - I haven't come across this problem before. I have a driver booster software that upgrades drivers when new versions are available. When my built-in mic (using a laptop) driver was updated I noticed the sound recording was terrible. I'm unable to perform a system restore due to a disk error that I can't fix so I went back to the old version of the driver. I couldnt then record - it was giving me the sample rates dont match error but I managed to change the sample rate of the speakers and input to 48000Hz to match the sample rate of the session. Another thing I adjusted was the input as it was selected as none.
This hasn't helped, unfortunately. If I create a new session I am able to record no problem but I have sessions I'm still working on that won't let me record audio to.
Sorry for the long winded story but any help would be greatly appreciated and if you require any further info let me know. Also go easy on me as I am new and won't be as advanced as most of you on the technical side!
    Stephen

For style council, I think ryclark's idea is a good one.  If the saved session is a different sample rate than your system is set to, it could be an issue.
For orbsphere, one suggestion is that you go to your Windows control panel (assuming you're on Windows--I assume Mac has similar but don't know about it) and shut down all system sounds.  Also, when doing sound recording shut down things like browsers etc. that may try to grab your computer's sound system and change settings on you.
Also, it involves spending money, but an external USB sound card with ASIO drivers will both improve quality and bypass the internal sound system with one that won't be "grabbed" by other programmes.

  • Quality issue with importing edited audio from Adobe Audition CS6 to Articulate 09

I have edited an audio file using Adobe Audition CS6 and the playback sounds fine. I then import the edited file into Articulate'09 and the audio sounds horrible, very tinny and not useable. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I have tried saving the audio files as mp3 and wav to see if that would help and it did not make a difference.

I checked - it certainly supports both formats, but you'd have to be a lot more specific about what's wrong, because 'sounds horrible' doesn't convey anything meaningful at all, I'm afraid. And we have no idea of the format you are using - it's very possible that if it's being resampled on the way in by the operating system. If that's the case you have to find out specifically what formats (in terms of bit depth and sample rate) that this software actually supports.
Bottom line is that I'm afraid that this isn't very likely to be an Audition problem at all - you may get a more detailed and meaningful response from Articulate themselves.

  • Windows 8 freezes while I try to watch online Flash content and running Audition CS6

I recently bought a online introduction course to Auditon CS6 on Vimeo.com
While I have a setup where I put the lecture on one screen and the program on the other I like to follow tutorials and learn how to use software.
However this proves to be impossible for me in Audition, because for some reason my computer gets completely unresponsive after a little while of watching the lectures with Audition running.
It never happens when Audition hasn't been launched, and I'm kind of suspecting a driver conflict, but I don't have a fancy audio card in my computer, (just built in Realtek,) and find it a bit
odd that it wouldn't be supported as it is some of the most common audio setups around. As far as I know the system runs stable with Audition running and no Flash content started as well.
This has happened for the last couple of months and I've updated Flash and drivers as they roll out. Audition CS6 is downloaded with the Creative Cloud application Manager.
Here is some general info on my computer:
OS: Windows 8 Pro 64 bit.
Motherboard: eVGA x58 Classified (Tried with stock BIOS and also updated to new BIOS)
    Audio Card: Realtek (on motherboard)
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti
The system storage device is a SSD (Firmware recently updated due to BSODs apearing, and seems to be resolved.)
I do believe that this might not be a Audition issue, but rather a issue with Flash. However Audition + Flash reproduces this problem faster than anything else I can remember this happening while
using other 3rd party software while playing Flash. (Not exactly the type of software.) I have a suspicion that it is something that occurs if Flash and other programs is paging/wiring/reading the SSD...
I can't remember this happening with Photoshop or other Adobe software, and so I'm also curious to how different Audition runs "under the hood" so to speak. What is it constantly checking
that could lead to a hardware conflict.

A month ago I uninstalled AVG Internet security from my computer making it a lot less potent to BSODs in general, (can't reacall having any.) So today I thought I'd try to learn some more Audition. I could Sit with it for a good while just playing around with recordings and settings and my system didn't react weirdly at all. So the next step was of course to try and load some of the Udemy lectures I had waiting.
As the video was buffering I turned away from the computer for a while, but when I came back it had completely froze up again... I don't think I've ever had a BSOD in this context either, instead of going into BSOD the computer just stops responding completely.
(I'm using the latest version of Flash, tried with both Firefox and Chrome.)
I'm thinking this is a very niche bug and I can't seem to se that it can be anything but a conflict with Flash. Weither it's a memory leek or what ever it is.
I can use Audition fine on my computer it seems, as long as I never start a browser in risk of loading a Flash application, (which would be fine if I was avid, but I need some lectures to get started.)
Nothing really seems to be overloaded (RAM/CPU) before the freeze ocurs either.
I  don't really know where or how to adress this to the Flash Player forum/community, (or if there is one.)
    Thanks.

  • Audition CS6 Crashes on Save and Attempts to Recover - Temp File Solutions?

After a 46 minute session recording in 44.1K, 16-bit, stereo running CS6 on Windows 7, my attempt to save the wav file resulted in a crash with Close Program or Look on Internet for Solution.
Attempts to restart the program and use recovery data worked initially, but subsequent save attempts resulted in the same crash.
Attempts to copy the wav file also resulted in a crash.
Shutdown and restart of the system yielded the same results, in fact worsening on some attempts to recover, where the data file reported 2 errors, eventually resulting in a complete freeze of CS6 when attempting the recovery.
At some point, the recovery option no longer was displayed -- may have been my fault, but there is a large 2+ GB file under c:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Temp\Adobe\Audition\5.0 named Audition5Temp9b878c42-d2e1-46cf-b433-9cebd47d6640 with no extension.
I tried importing this as raw data, 44.1K, 2 channel, 16-bit PCM, Default Byte order, but that resulted in what appeared to be a 3-hour file that was very high amplitude noise.
I'm hoping for a means of recovering this data file.  In the years I used CS5.5, I never had a problem like this and recovery always worked in those rare instances when it was needed.
This is my second extended session with CS6, and this crash has left me wondering why I bothered to upgrade.
Is there any hope at all here of recovering this session from the Audition5Temp file, or is it a total loss.
    Please let me know.
    Yours,
    M.B.

    Hi Kent,
This issue has come up from time to time and we've traced it to a third-party application that is often installed and running on pre-configured computers. SupportSoft makes a system monitoring application that Dell, HP, Comcast, and others install, but which can interfere with applications. Since Audition uses the OS file dialog API, whereas Photoshop and the other design applications use a native dialog, this support application can often cause us to crash.
It's simple to disable, which should prevent Audition and other applications from crashing. Click the START button (or whatever it's called in Vista) and type MSCONFIG and press ENTER. When the "System Configuration" application launches, click the Services and Startup tabs and uncheck any item that reads SUPPORTSOFT or SUPPORTCMD. Click OK and restart and see if that doesn't fix the Audition issue.
If not, or if you're unable to locate those particular applications, please let me know and we can dig into this deeper.
    Thanks,
    Durin

  • Audition CS5.5 crashes opening CS6 and CC sessions, but worked fine previously

    Hi Guys,
The radio station I work at, operates 2 iMacs using Snow Leopard. One computer has Audition CS5.5 installed and the other used to have CS6 and now runs CC.
When I first started working here, the CS5.5 machine would open CS6 sesx files without issue, but for the last few months, every session crashes the program when opening the file. Same happens with CC sesx files.
Restrictions don't allow to have the CS5.5 machine upgraded to CC, so I don't have the opportunity to try a new version.
I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and was able to find a work around.
    Thanks in advance

If you want to send me one (or two) of the sesx files which don't open in Au5.5 I will be happy to check them out and advise
You can send them to me via the contact details on the AATranslator web site
    Edit:
The problem is the reference to the 10 band Graphic Equalizer effect
I removed it and all is good
I didn’t have time to isolate it any further than that
