Audition CS6 fails to load default i/o device - requires reboot to work

We've got a workstation at our radio studio that runs Audition CS6, version 5.0.2, build 7 under Windows XP SP3.  It uses a Digigram VX222v2 sound card as its default with an ASIO driver.
The problem...
The production engineer will open the program and get the following error message:
"Loading the default input and output devices failed.   The device could not be opened.  Would you like to review Audition's audio hardware preferences?"
When clicking "OK," the operator gets a message that the driver or device is unavailable and the program defaults to the built-in Windows sound card and MME driver.  Only a complete system reboot will get things working again.  She has no other programs running on the system that use the Digigram card.
Any thoughts?

Is the "Use machine specific device defaults" box ticked in Preferences/Audio Hardware? This should ensure that the correct device is selected when Audition starts. Also make sure that "Release ASIO driver in background" is not ticked.

    Hi philip,
You may try to follow the steps below:
    1.Close the Creative Cloud application.
    2.Navigate to the OOBE folder.
    Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    Mac OS: /Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder
    3.Delete the opm.db file.
    4.Launch Creative Cloud.

  • Flash Pro CS6 fails to load

Flash Pro CS6 loads and suddenly disappear while "loading fonts".  I found similar discussions, and their solution suggests to find fontinfo.txt and edit it, but i fail to find the fontinfo.txt but found a missfont.map.
    Help needed, thanks in advance..

    Hi,
The fontinfo.txt file can be found at:
    C:\Users\«YourUserName»\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS6\en_US\Configuration
Firstly, let me know if you are able find the fontinfo.txt file at the said location. Secondly, if you manage find it, empty the .txt file, save as Read Only (you need to ENABLE this option, not Disable as in your post), and then try restarting Flash.
Please see if it works for you. These are steps as described in the forum discussion Ned referred, and I would request you try these to see if the issue still persists.

  • Setting the default ALSA Sound Device, wiki methods not working?

    Hi!
I want to set my default audio device different from the current one, namely different from my default laptop analog output.
My laptop has two outputs, analog and HDMI, however, IF it is connected I want my default audio output to be my USB Dac.

alternatively, it is also okay for the default to be set at boot time, as i shutdown my laptop when changing setups.
i tried the method with an alsa-base.conf file in /etc/modprobe.d/ and also the /etc/asound.conf file.
with the alsa-base.conf file, I get error msgs when executing even aplay -l, while the asound.conf method gives me:

has anybody an idea on how to possibly fix this?
    thanks a lot !

Thanks for the link you posted.
Unfortunately, i don't really get the advice posted there...
I figured out one thing by myself though, in my asound config the name of my DAC was wrong, I missed an 'U' in the front.
Still, I am not sure why i even have to do any config at all, really. Or maybe my expected behaviour is not the default.
I think of it like that: always use my laptop output as default, however: IF i plug in another audio device, it's got to have a reason why i plugged it, so change the default to the newly plugged in device.
Is there a way to do that?
ps. eg now it got somehow f'd up and i have TWO default devices. no idea how it did that/how that's possible.

  • JavaScript blocked or failed to load

    Hello,
Sometime ago I suddenly realized that JavaScript was not working in my Firefox. I get a very explicit error message from Stack Overflow:
"Stack Overflow requires external JavaScript from another domain, which is blocked or failed to load."
Many other websites also do not work.
I currently am running Windows 7 and on typing "java -version", I get the following output:
    java version "1.7.0_40"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_40-b43)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.0-b56, mixed mode)
I know Java is installed and working because I can compile and run .java files from NetBeans.
I am in a fix as I have spent many hours troubleshooting this problem but could not solve it. I am very hopeful for a solution here.
    Thanks

Firefox has a single global setting for JavaScript: either it's enabled or it isn't. If JavaScript works on any site, then that setting should be fine. If you're not sure, you can check here:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''java''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) If '''javascript.enabled''' is not set to its default value of true, double-click it to switch it back to true.
Firefox does not have a user interface for applying site-specific scripting restrictions, but this can be done using extensions or using "capability" preferences. I don't see the best known script blockers on your extension list (NoScript, YesScript, Controle De Scripts) so I suggest checking for the hidden preferences first.
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Scroll down to prefs.js and open it in a text editor (note: you can't save changes while Firefox is running, but you can exit Firefox if you find something you need to edit out)
Search for '''capab''' (the beginning of the word capability). Do you find any preferences that contain capability and javascript and noAccess? If so, that may explain why scripts cannot run on some sites. Feel free to post those lines here for analysis.
To test the extension possibility, could you try some of the problem sites in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
    Any change?

  • Multitrack recording in audition cs6 - input hardware question

I use audition cs6 on win 7 pro for editing and hospital radio production work.  Soon to take delivery of a Sonifex S2 desk for the main studio and have a need to be able to record two seperate stereo outputs from the desk simultaneously (for example, speech tracks and music tracks) for ease in re-editing live broadcasts.
The desk has parallel analogue, AES/EBU and SPDIF outputs on both the main and audition busses so I could do with some advice on input hardware to give me the two stereo ASIO channels on the pc for recording by audition.  Latency isn't an issue in this case, and if the input hardware uses the digital outputs, the clock can be provided by the desk if necessary.
This is not a scenario that would be expanded, it is a fixed studio installation so 2 x stereo line inputs are all that will be required.  I just don't know what is suitable hardware.
Obviously cost is an issue, being a charity.
    Any advice welcomed!

  • When I install Flash Professional CC 2014, I got the Error: DW039: Failed to load deployment File

When I install Flash Professional CC 2014, I got the Error:
Exit Code: 16 Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting.
    For example,  ERROR: DW039 ...

ERROR: DW039: Failed to load deployment File

The solution mentioned above doesn't work for me.
Change language, restart Macbook, error again, change language back and forth, restart every time, it just doesn't work.
I was installing same app - Flash Professional CC 2014.
    I got the same error

    So, same problem, same question.

  • Mic not recording at all or loud on Audition Cs6

My mic is not picking up any sounds at all on my Adobe audition Cs6, or sometimes it does record but it's not loud at all unless someone screams into it, does anyone please know how i can fix this? I have an M-audio Fast track and my mic is called a bluebird idk if that helps. So can i make everything go back to normal, where i can record and see that my audition cs6 is actually recording my voice. Thanks

Well, if it was working previously, then I'd suspect from the symptoms that you should have a careful look at the mic lead for a start - this sounds rather more like a hardware problem than a software one. Initially, the easiest thing to do is to try it with another lead.

  • Can't load ASIO driver / device could not be opened error in Audition CC but not Audition CS6

I have a M-Audio Fast Track Ultra USB 2.0 that I use for audio.  I installed Audition CC and it wont let me use the ASIO driver for it.  I get the device could not be opened error.  On the same system I have Audition CS6 which works with the ASIO driver fine.  Also have Vegas, Premiere, etc - all on the same machine and no problems with the M-Audio driver.  I can load the Blackmagic ASIO driver but don't use that for audio mixing.  Changing Use Machine Specific Device Defaults and Force Hardware to Sample Rate does nothing.   Running Windows 7 64 bit.

M-Audio 64-bit driver is apparently troublesome, but the 32-bit one works fine - which explains why CS6 works and CC doesn't. As far as I can find out, you aren't the only person with this problem - have a look at this Reaper forum thread - you may get some useful information from it (no promises!)

I'm trying to download the Audition CS6 from the cloud using the AAM but I get a error message:
Installation Failed.  The download appears corrupted. Press Cancel, wait a few minutes and try again. (-60).  I've now try to install Audition CS6 8 times and still receive the same error message.
I've downloaded several other applications without any issues using AAM and I have not downloaded other versions of Audition that might conflict with the CS6 version.

  • AME CS6 Fails while while loading

My PC crashed (blue screen) while  encoder was exporting a vid.
After restarting pc, encoder now fails to load at the splash screen. When it's loading the plugins etc it freezes when it gets to thelastproject I worked on.
    What I've tried:
Deleting the "Watch Folder Info" file in "C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\6.0"
Deleting the whole 6.0 folder in "C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\6.0"
Deleting all temp files  relating to the project in "C:\Users\AppData\Local\Temp"
    System:
    Win 7 Ultimate x64
    16GB Ram
    nVidia 560 Ti
    Intel  i7 2600 CPU

Great report and an admirable effort at troubleshooting the issue.
Try deleting (or renaming*) three more folders from C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\:
\Common : this contains an AME folder as well as the media cache, which could have a corrupt file from the BSOD
\dynamiclinkmanager\6.0 : This is an executable that AME uses to read sequences from PPRO and comps from AE.
\PProHeadless\6.0 : This is basically a version of PPRO that DynamicLink uses to render frames from a sequence that AME is encoding.
*I recommend renaming these folders, which effectively hides them from AME, rather than deleting them. That way, you don't lose anything in case the step doesn't help--just delete the new folder and rename the old one to its orginal name.

  • Audition CS6 plug in scanning failed after upgrade to OSX 10.9.1

I upgraded a machine to 10.9.1 Mavericks and Audition does't show any thrid party plug ins, no AU no VST, no VST3.
I've pointed AU several times to folders, trashed all preferences and user settings as decribed here in the FAQ - no go!
The funny thing is that all plug ins from all companies (of course only legal ones!) work in all formats in all other applications, DAWs and what not.
It is ONLY AU CS 6 that does the scanning for many minutes, I can see the plug in names flying thru, but afterwards nothing is available.
I'm now puzzled. Any hints how to get my plug ins back in AU CS 6? Thank you.

Ok - no help here. But I found a kind of solution. I deinstalled Audition CS6, deactivated before, and made a fresh re-install. Then I copied old Mountain Lion Audition preferences from a Timemachine backup. From there I made a new plug in re-scan and it worked.

  • Premier Pro 2014 opens Audition CS6 when editing audio clip from Premier

I own Adobe CS6 Master Collection installed (for legacy projects) and I also have the CC subscription. When I am running Premier Pro CC 2014 and then try to edit an audio clip in Audition the CS6 version of Audition loads rather than the CC 2014 version. Any help or thoughts on why this is happening would be appreciated.

I detected this with photoshop--I think its an OS issue--The OS doesn't appear to recognize the two versions are different.  In my case, I had PSP CC loaded, but then loaded the 32 bit version of PSP CS6 (so I could scan directly into the program using "IMPORT")  Windows changed the default to the 32 bit version.  When I tried to change default using windows, windows would not show the CC version as an option--just the 32 bit version.  Without editing the registry, I couldn't find a way to force windows to ignore the 32 bit version and open the CC version.  My workaround was to always open the CC version from the icon and then click on the file I wanted open.  It appears that if any version of the program is already running, the recognized default won't open.  This might work for you on Audition.
