Audition does not playback

Hello,
Suddenly audition (5.5 CS built 1815) does not play any tracks anymore. I treid my best but can not find the problem. I removed it and reinstalled the whole product again.
I can load an mp3, and the waveform is showing up in the editor. When I push the play button in the transportscreen nothing is happening. The markerline doen not move and when I drag it along the waveform manualy there is no sound from my speakers (my soundcard is working, a radiostream works fine).
One thing that noticed me is that at the lower hand corner, where playing is displayed, there ie a message but it is showing so shortly that I can not read it.
Can anybody help me wit this.

Thanks for your reply. I found the solution to my problem myself... Had to buy a new pc to find it because it gave the same error on a new one after changing the audio output wires..... It was in the setup routing the correct audio channesl to the output. After that is start playing immediately.

Adobe Audition CC does not playback any audio file. He opens it but does not react on the play key. It is after use audio hardware usb wi-fi headphone and return to build-it out. The program don't react now.
I see problem:
I am unable to get playback at all in CS6 on Mac. The play button or spacebar will not move the playhead or make sound come out of the foamy things with the magnets. The play button toggles back and forth between green and white, but it isn't working. This is true in both multi track and waveform view.
Anyone have ideas on what the issue could be? Thanks!

Best bet would be to go into Preferences > Audio Hardware, verify your input and output devices are correct, and probably switch your Master Clock to the opposite setting. If that fails, we can continue troubleshooting.
I have the same problem as the author writes. But these actions do not help

Unfortunately I believe that requires purchasing the new version, and I do
not have budget approval for such a purchase.

'Edit in Audition' Does Not Open The Audition App

I have a PPro CC sequence with a few audio tracks that I want to edit in Audition. When I select the command, it seems to prep files, but Audition does not open. Is that a bug maybe?
I can open Audition myself and find the project file to open

Yessir Jim - I've restarted the PC and tried different clips in the existing project as well as new projects with the same and different clips. My "Edit Clip in Adobe Audition" has never been grayed-out, like I've seen referenced in other posts, and it behaves the same way no matter if I right click on the clip and try to send to Audition or if I try via the Edit menu. Same result.
I previously had the CS6 Production Premium Suite installed and I just moved over to CC. The issue was not there w/ CS6. I'm still adjusting to CC and I had thought that I was just missing something.
I did just discover that, somehow, Bridge CS6 is still installed on my pc even though it does NOT show up in the Control Panel - Programs list. Bridge CC is installed as wlle. I'm guessing this most likely has something to do with my issue...

Audition does not play sound

Hello to everybody,
the following problem occurs:
after transferring the whole Macsystem (MBP 2010) to a new model (MBP2014) I have a problem using Adobe Audition. It does not play any sound, when starting a window tells me, that some hardware has changed, audio channel assignment says unknown... the audio devices are found..
btw: Adobe Premiere does work, it plays the video as well as the audio. I already killed Audition and re-installed it... but no changes, what can I do?

Dear friends, pleasae, help. I use Adobe Audition sound processing program, my sound cars are of the Audigy line. Recording control does not work, a known bug, says Adobe. Play control works fine, but I'd like to make quality recordings. Something is not O.K.with the ASIO system, I figure. The case is the same with PCI as well as PCMCIA Audigy products.
Tell me, please:
-Is there a patch or workaround to fix this problem?
-If not Audigy, what sound cards then?
Getting help from Adobe isn't quite simple, but maybe, Audigy fans know better.

If you mean the recording source/level control in Surround Mixer (etc.) ... it is not working because of it's bypassed by the ASIO driver ... so, it's not a bug but normal behaviour. You just adjust the recording level in Audition (or in any other software). Normally you need to select
- "AnalogMix()" input port option for analog line sources like Line-In, Audio CD, AUX-In, etc.
- (Mix L and Mix R are equal w/ the famous "What U Hear" ...
- S/PDIF for digital input

Remember also set monitoring properly in software so you can hear what you're recording. This is normally set through a tiny 'speaker icon' found in every tracks header ('settings options').
BTW, if you check the "Wave" source channel/slider when running in ASIO mode, you'll find out that it won't work either (it's all the same if you mute it). This is normal behaviour too, even when working in WDM/KS (Kernel streaming mode (or w/ Asio4All (which uses WDM/KS functionality))) ... it's just because of the kmixer is being bypassed ...

AVI Files import audio fine, video does not playback correctly

Premiere Pro CS4 imports my AVI file's audio, but video playback does not match up; that is, the audio will playback until finish, but it appears that the video portion only reaches the third or fourth frame of the video! All other video formats import just fine.
This issue did not occur in CS3.
I use Windows XP SP3.

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I solved the problem by installing the proper codec (LEAD MJPEG).
Now I have another problem -- when scrubbing through videos, it seems as if the audio doesn't follow the cursor. That is, if I scroll to the MIDDLE of a video, I hear audio from the BEGINNING of the video, as if I had just paused and resumed.
What could be the problem here?? This appears to happen for DivX movies, which I actually don't use often. But still, this would be a nice problem to solve.

Audition does not play nor record

Auditon CS6 does not play nor record.
I can click into the file but when I press play or space there is no reaction. "no transport".
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. No luck.
Earlier the onboard processor hat to be replaced (hp warranty). Could it be that this has caused Audition to react strangely. Maybe due to a processor id not being equal to the original setup?

When Audition's transport doesn't work, it's because it has become disconnected from your sound device. Go into Preferences > Hardware setup, and reconnect it! Should all work fine then, assuming that your sound device is actually okay...

Why does Captivate 6 create mp4 files that the swf does not playback clearly?

Captivate 5 created a .swf which suited my training purposes very nicely. There were swf files in the library, embedded in the (rather large) .swf that I asked the students to run. Now it seems that Captivate 6.0.1.240 won't do that. Captivate 6 creates external mp4 files for the video portion (audio is separately recorded mp3 that is imported to the finished demo video slide) and they look terrible when the .swf runs them. Those mp4 look fine on their own but the .swf must resize them to properly fit with the TOC on the screen.
The HTML created when I make the .swf looks fine but it does not all fit on the screen as does the .swf so I don't like it and don't want to use it. Thanks, in advance, for any replies and suggestions.

I assume you are launching your program from C drive. Are any
components of Captivate stored on the remote drive? (I am thing
your user profile, are you the only person who accesses Captivate
from that machine?)
Does this happen all the time?
What I have noticed in my own network is that there are
periodic "dropped" connections on the network. I have never figured
out what it causing this, but Captivate does not like it. (Every
once in awhile if Word or Excel are writing to a file on a share,
they will become thoroughly corrupted too.)
The problem with Captivate is that it needs a lot of a
computer's resources and takes what it can get. It also seems to
write to a temp file a lot (while a capture is taking place) an
only "binds" it up when the user stops and ends the session. The
only thing I can think of is that during this process there is a
inturruption in your network.
Sorry I couldn't fully answer your question.
I would try (if you can) loading the software on a machine
that is not on the network and try to do a series of long captures
and see if the problem persists.
I work in a large network and I do not have the problem, but
I have also installed the software myself and made sure of the
installation. I also make sure the program I am recording is local
(whenever possible). Additionally, do you have problems with any
other programs and corrupted files?
Again, sorry I don't have a quick answer.

Af:objectMedia does not playback video

Dear all,
Iam using Oracle ADF 10g. in an Oracle ADF page I want to present video stored in a file path within the file system of my OC4J. I have set the 'Source' attribute of my af:objectMedia to the URL of the video.
However no embedded video player appears in my ADF page, ready to play back the video.
When I open the URL path directly from the browser, the video play backs with the video player of my desktop. So the URL path of the video is ok.
Instead of video I have also tested it with images and again, no image is rendered
Does anybody know what could be wrong?

Maybe I was not clear enough. My 'Source' attribute has values like "http://myserver:port/...".
As I had mentioned above, the videos are accessible from a browser, so there is not any issue regarding the validity of their URL.
This is an excerpt of the HTML output when viewing the source of the ADF page:

Audition Does Not Start

Nothing has changed on my computer, as far as I can tell, and all Adobe applications were working fine.
Yesterday, I tried to use Adobe Audition (CS6) fro the first time in a month or two. The Windows mouse cursor spins for a few moments, and Adobe Audition appears in the Windows Task Manager for a second or two, but then it disappears and Audition doesn't start. I get no error messages of any kind.
I have uninstalled Audition, and then reinstalled Audition.
I have uninstalled Audition, including the preferences, and then reinstalled Audition.
I have uninstalled the entire Production Premium CS6 suite, and reinstalled the entire suite.
Nothing changes!
Any ideas what may be going on, and more importantly, how to fix this? Maybe the registry needs clearing of all mentions of CS6 ? Why is Audition the ONLY application that's no longer working?

It appears that MSVCR100.dll is causing problems. After reinstalling Production Premium, and doing a Windows Update to see if the version of MSVCR100.dll would be updated, it was not, and I'm still unable to open Audition.

Memorex 52 max CDRW burns but does not playback after installing 7.0

I have a Memorex 52 MAx CDRW which worked fine with version 6.0, but after installing 7.0 and all recent upgrades it will burn the playlist ok but when attempting to playback recorded or regular cd music, it will skip from one song to the next on the cd without playing it. If i install the 6.0 version it will play ok, but 7.0 and up will not. Any suggestions?

I rename an iMovie 08 project and now my project video does not playback!!!

I rename a completed project and now when I scroll the curser across the various video imports, the sound plays, but I do not get video playback. I can see the video fine in the thumbnails, but they don't play.
Any suggestions short of creating the whole project from start again?

In the middle of my project, I just went up to File -> Reveal in Finder. It brought up the Finder with what looks like a 'hidden' location of the file. Here are a couple of pictures that might help show what I did:

Audition does not recognize audio from Lifecam Cinema

I just connected my new cam but when I go into Audition's audio set up I cannot get it to work as the default input device. It is listed in the control panel as an input device but even when I move it to the top and check it the default input device designation is greyed out. Any ideas?

Are you running Vista? You might need to enable the device's audio input in the Sound Properties tool in Vista. (You can get there by right-clicking on the speaker icon in the Vista system tray, and selecting Properties.) Once enabled at the system level, Audition should be able to access it as an input.
That would be my first guess as to the problem, since Audition sees the device okay, but doesn't recognize any input channels. If that's not the case or if it still fails to work, please reply and we can continue to troubleshoot.

Music Video does not playback it looks like a white negative!!

Please please help...I have downloaded itunes7 and now I cant watch any of my new or old music video's...the music plays but the video looks like a white negative...you can make out the faint outline of people and things moving but nothing else??????????????

I read a solution somewhere that worked for this music video problem, that was before i gave up on my music skipping and reverted back to i-Tunes 6 (so music no longer scratching but videos not working without delay/skipping.)
Anyway the solution was, Quit i-Tunes, select start menu -> control panels -> quick time. Click on advanced tab, uncheck box next to enable direct 3D video acceleraion and then open i-Tunes

Upload WMA files and project does not playback

I am using WMA files to create my project in Soundtrack Pro. Everything is fine when I create the project and it plays just fine but after it is saved, the media is collected and I close out then reopen the project I don't get any sound. In looking at the project the tracks are there but nothing shows up in the meters.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way around it? Do I need to save the WMA's as something else before adding them as tracks in the project?

I'm surprised that WMA seems to work at all. It is a compressed fileformat (like mp3) invented by Microsoft, that's two reasons not to use 'em in STP.. Your suggestion to convert them up front seems ok, best to the .aiff format. But if you can, try to avoid compressed audio at all.
To convert the WMA you can use MPEG Streamclip (free). Open a .wma, choose "export Audio", filetype .aiff.
