Audition is adding extra time when I record. Why?
At my radio station we record the broadcast and then post it online the next day. Everything was fine and great until a few weeks ago I noticed that when I went to edit it the ext day there was an extra 20 sec for the one hour show. instead of being 1 hour, it was an hour and 20 sec. So I then had to go throught the file and edit out 20 sec worth of umms and uhhhs from the host and guests. It doesn't always happend but it is a big time waster. We have a two hour show and we record each hour separatly. For hour two it usually doesn't add the extra 20 sec but it did a couple of times. The only thing I have been able to figure out with some consistancy is if I open Audition 30 min before the show and record 20 min of nothing and then stop the recording, delete it and then start recording again, it will not add the extra 20 sec.
Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know what is going on and how I can make it stop? Is there an effect that I mistakenly turned on?
Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.

First of all, let me confirm exactly what you are doing.
I notice you say iTunes is not recognising the change. So when you play the song in iTunes, it does not stop at the new time you've entered, is this correct? Or
is it playing okay in iTunes, but not on your iPod? If this is what's happening, you have Synced your iPod after the change, haven't you? (Any changes you make in iTunes while the iPod is connected to iTunes will almost certainly not be activated on the iPod until you do another Sync.)
(If you manually manage the music on your iPod, you will need to remove the track from the iPod and then put it back on again. Putting it back on should cause the newly revised stop time to be on your iPod.)
So if your stop time is shown (in iTunes) as 2:52, but the track is not stopping at that time - in iTunes - then I suggest you do a repair of iTunes. To repair iTunes, download iTunes and go through the instal procedure. (Do not delete or remove the existing iTunes.) Once the instal procedure sees the existing iTunes, you should see an option to either repair or start new, choose the repair option.
I've had to use the repair iTunes option myself, a few weeks ago, and it fixed the issue I was having. Can't remember what the issue was though!
Finally, if the track plays okay in iTunes but not on the iPod after a new Sync, the only thing I can suggest is a Restore of your iPod. This will remove everything from the iPod and the next Sync put back what it finds in your library. If you manually manage, you will need to put everything back on yourself. -
Captivate adding extra time to old RoboDemo projects
I am currently evaluating Captivate for my company with the
final goal of advising on whether to upgrade our RoboDemo
application. While there are several nice new features that are
great incentives to upgrade, there is one very annoying problem
that I cannot see a workaround to.
We have several complete RoboDemo projects (*.rd) When I open
these files in Captivate 1.01, it is adding 3.0 seconds to many
slides. On slides in RoboDemo that only had mouse movement and had
timing that I had meticiously edited by hand, it has defaulted all
mouse movement timing to 2.0 seconds and then added 3.0 seconds of
time where it is just the screen capture showing. In a demo where
many slides are like this and originally had times of 1.0 second or
less, it has made our demos 4 or 5 times longer!! VERY
Unacceptable.
I tried locking all of my RoboDemo slides and saving before
opening in Captivate, but Captivate still modified my timing. I
tried to copy RoboDemo slides to Captivate with no help.
Has anyone gone through this experience? I searched the
website and could not find anything. This is a substantial
hinderance to a possible upgrade and we would probably wait until a
newer version comes out for Captivate that resolves this problem.

it is the same as trying to copy the entire slide. I am unable to
copy an individual caption or mouse movement.

I am not familiar with the different software that you mentioned but as a
first step I would check compatibility which is done as below:
Get original operating system CD that was used to install Windows XP on the
machine in your post. When Windows XP is inserted into CD ROM drive it
normally will ask you to conduct compatibility check for the current
installation. See what it says.

I have tried to get it from KONP {by inputting condition record number}, but unfortunately time is not tracked over there, but the date is tracked.

Go to display mode of the condition record through VK13 transaction from the condition record overview screen go to menu Environment >Changes>Click on Change report now system will take you to the Change Documents for conditions selection screen here you input proper selection data then execute now system will give the all the details here you can find the time also.

Adding extra audio tracks to an mp4 movie file?
I'm new to using iMovie or similar programs for converting/merging video and audio, so any help that steers me in the right direction is greatly appreciated.
I made an mp4 file of a movie, and want to add an audio track to the mp4 file. The audio track is an mp3 file. However, in order for me to have the new audio track sync up with the video, I need the audio track to start playing before the movie begins. Please note that I'm not interested in burning this to a DVD; I just want a new mp4 file with the extra audio track.
With this in mind:
1) What program would be best for merging an mp3 file with an mp4 video file, plus adding extra time to the video in order to accommodate the extra time in the audio track? I have iMovie HD 6.0.3, and the latest version of Handbrake, unless another program is better for this task.
2) What steps do I need to perform to merge the two files? I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this in Handbrake, and importing the mp4 file in iMovie will take forever.
As I said, I'm new to using these programs, so if you need me to clarify anything, please ask and I'll do my best to help out. Thanks!QuickTime Player Pro ($30) can do the job in just a few seconds. Its .mov container can have up to 99 tracks.
Open the .mp4 file, select all and Copy.
Switch to the .mp3 file, move the playhead to the needed start point and paste in the entire .mp4 file.
The hardest part is a pencil and paper to note the time of each file to find the proper insertion point. -
Extra time after click in recorded PPT projects
I am trying Captivate 5 on Mac OS 10.6.5
I imported a power point presentation and added audio for each slide. I am advancing to the next slide on click.
For some reason, when previewing the project, AFTER I click to advance to the next slide, the current slide is silently displayed for 5-15 seconds before advancing to the new slide and the new audio starts.
I have checked the audio and there appears to be nothing AFTER the audio. That is, the "END" indicator on the timeline matches the length of the audio. It sits there until I click, then the extra time elapses (silently) then the new slide appears with the audio for that slide.
This is very furstrating - any ideas would be greatly appreciated.I spoke too soon!
The above fix worked for ONE of the presentations (#8) that had this issue.
However, when I applied this solution to the other presentation (#5) that had this issue, instead of opening presentation #6 as defined in the settings, it opened presentation #2!!
All other settings for the slide, publication, and button are exactly the same.
One of my largest frustrations with Captivate5 has been trying to work around inconsistencies like this.
However, I found a solution (rather kludgey, but it does work):
The problem seems to be with the "Continue Button" If the continue button is eliminated on the LAST slide of the project, the next project loads just fine.
I duplicated the last slide so that it is now the last and second to last slide. I left the button on the second to last slide and deleted it from the last slide. I deleted the audio on the last slide. Then I moved the timer of the last slide so that it only played for 1/2 a second. Then the next presentation in line (#6) loads fine, and the 12-15 second pause after hitting the continue button completely disappears.
As noted elsewhere, be sure that the fade-in on first slide and fade-out on last slide on your project File > PUBLISH SETTINGS > Project > Start and End are turned OFF.
The ACTION settings on your last slide (with NO navigation button) should be set to
On Enter: Continue
On Exit: Go to the next slide -

Unless you have enabled auditing, this information is not retained in any way.
If auditing is enabled, you can write a powershell script to look for the specific event in the eventlog. More specifically, you should look for all security events with id 4732 containing the group.

Is it possible to record the time when a boolean expression is true, i.e if an =0 condition was placed on an AC signal, would it be possible to record the times when the wave crossed 0.

The real problem is to do with an engine crank sensor (Variable reluctance). When the sensor is placed on a toothed wheel (12 - 3 teeth), the sensor produces a sinusoidal like wave, with a gap 25% of the time. Teeth can be found on the wave as V=0 and dv/dt<0. The gap will then be used as a ref point.
My eventual intentions are to monitor the signal from the engine and calculate the angle of the shaft by looking at gap times between wave cycles. Before i use the real sensor i intend to fully simulate everything.
I now have an approximate simulation of the crank signal. i have attatched it.
I expected the =0 part not to work for the reason you stated but was unsure how to get around that. So, I thought i would produce a square wave first when dv/dt<0 and when -0.1<v<0.1. I was then hoping there would be a rising edge trigger tool that could give me times of these rising edges of the square wave so that i could record them in a table, but i cant find/think of a way to do this.
After i have a way of doing this i will compare gaps between teeth to find the ref tooth. After it is found i will increment a tooth counter everytime a tooth passes, and from there estimate angle of crankshaft.
As for how many teeth times need to recorded, i think 3 only. The last three teeth passing the sesnor will allow me to find 2 gaps bewteen teeth times which will allow me to find the wheels gap. I can use times between teeth to estimate a time per degree figure which is then used to increment an angle counter.
Any help is much appreciated i know there will be an easyish way of doing this, i just cant find it.

When I copy and paste from one source material to another within adobe reader, all the words are in one sentence. I have to take extra time to separate the words using the space bar. Can this be fix?

I use an Allen & Heath broadcast board. When I record to my computer for later broadcast there is a low end hiss/hum barely noticeable when im speaking BUT very prominent when there is a quiet moment.
Sounds like gain may be tooo high, BUT its not. When I do a LIVE broadcast using same equipment all is fine!
ThoughtsWell, several thoughts here...
First, what are you using to get from the A&H mixer into your computer and is it in the chain when you broadcast live? I ask because a lot of built in sound cards are pretty noisy and that could be the source of the problem, fixable with even a very cheap external USB interface
Second, if the hiss actually starts at the mic/mixer, I know the A&H XB series has a high pass filter on every mic channel. Have you engaged that?
That said, it's pretty rare for hiss to be such a low frequency that the high pass filter will kill it. You may get on better with the Noise Reduction feature in Audition, applied after the recording.
Anyhow, to repeat how I started, what's your signal chain when recording and how does it differ from when you go live? -
Form_trigger_failure in when-validate-record fired message three times

I have a problem with one of my forms. Indeed, I have used when-validate-record trigger to validate fields block.
So, when user fills a duplicate I display an error message with two choices. Accept or proceed to change. The action button 1 is impeccable.
But when the user clicks the button 2 of the message, I raise form_trigger_failure exception. What is strange is that my error message appears three times if I get out of the record by the mouse but once I get out of line by the tab.
Is there someone who can help me on that?

Thank you for your answer but I still working without success.
I found that the trigger W-V-R is fired thee times so the value of :CTRL2.MATCH_REC is recalculated every time (as shown by Kevin D Clarke about validating duplicate http://forums.oracle.com/forums/profile.jspa?userID=8905) witch is correct.
If I affect 0 or null to :CTRL2.MATCH_REC, it's not raising finally the form_trigger_failure (F_T_F), so it's working has button 1.
Note that I found after catching others exception (exception when others then...) a 100501 non-oracle exception.
I don't know if my repetition is caused by this exception?
Note again that, when I put other statement instead of raising F_T_F, it's working fine. His just only when I raise F_T_F that I have this behaviour.
Do you have any idea ?

Form Validation using Javascript error when adding extra fields

I have a form (with a few fields which require validation) which works just fine. I have added extra fields to the form and require them to validate too. My problem is that they are not showing via the behaviours/validation box and I can't figure out how to sort it! They are contained within the form element. I have tried to delate the original validation and start again but to no avail.

How to record the time when a checkbox was checked?
I would like to insert the value of NOW() at the moment when a checkbox is changed from unchecked to checked.

It may appears as a
• simple task:
if the checkbox is B2,
in C2 enter =IF(B2=TRUE,NOW(),"")
The time will be displayed when you will check the box
• not so simple
the time displayed in c2 is a "living" one.
It will change each time when the sheet will recalculate. So the value will not be accurate.
Here is a script which will give an accurate result:

I have only found how to add think times after the recording, but I would like the times to be injected automatically at record instead.
How did you get through to customer service? They've changed the website and I can't even find phone numbers or a chat button any more.
Here's my story that I posted on discussion yesterday, but no one has replied:
I am screaming and pulling my hair out right now! The last six months with Adobe has been a nightmare.
Once again I am completely locked out of Creative Cloud and cannot use the apps even though my automatic monthly deduction for payment was just made a couple of days ago. Creative Cloud continues to reset itself to the trial version which runs out in 30 days and after that I am locked out once again.
Now it looks like it is harder to access support than before. Where are chat and the phone numbers now? This was a nightmare with countless hours spent on chat and the phone over the last six months, and now I don't even know how to access support in order to spend even more time that does not solve the problem. What am I to do?
I cannot use the product I have paid for!
