Audition is taking over the sound on my computer

I used audition 3.0 and now I can't hear anything when I'm on windows.
I have the volume set on the correct device.
I also went to Audition and did Edit >Audio Hardware Setup and checked the box that says "Release AISO driver in background"
I can't figure out how to get my windows sound working again, any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It's windows, every version has problems... plus, it's not necessarily the OS's fault (more auditions fault), the guy who posted below me is using XP and had a similar problem.
Oh, it's the OS's fault alright - possibly in both cases, admittedly. Not Audition's, because in terms of audio streams, Audition only deals with what it's given, and doesn't itself have any influence over OS settings. Audition 3 uses ASIO streaming, and whatever sound device you use either has to be able to deal with that directly, or use an interface like the internal Windows Sound Driver, or alternatively ASIO4ALL, which does the same thing only with better diagnostics. But these are the only ways in and out for the audio, and there are no settings at all within Audition to alter anything else about it.
Yes, the supported formats settings could upset the internal audio arrangements, but generally only if they've been played with. One thing that can make a difference to this behaviour though is the installation of extra codecs - these sometimes grab streams when they shouldn't, and there are one or two which have been known to cause havoc all over the place. I don't recall exactly which codec pack it was, but the only cure was to uninstall it.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

I'm using the default camera app with the phone.  Happens every time with videos that I take with the camera.  does not occur when watching other videos, only videos taken with the phone.  and when the video is uploaded to a computer or online, the hiss stays with the video.
I just bought the phone a few months ago, so this is the first time I’ve tried taking video with it.  I’ve tested repeatedly to see if its intermittent but it’s constant.

When you switch to iTunes backups, the device will start to make any further backups to iTunes on your computer. It will only do this when it is connected to iTunes and a power source. (If it is set to sync/backup wirelessly, it will only do so when it is connected to a Wi-Fi network)
When you switch back to iCloud backups, it will basically resume where it left off and start to back up once again to iCloud. There is no moving of backup files between iTunes and the cloud when you switch between backup options.

  • The sound on my computer freezes/skips

The sound on my computer freezes/skips when I watch/listen to anything. I have an HP Pavilion g7 Notebook with 4g and AMD Athlon II P360 Dual-Core Processor.  The bios is F.04 - from 3/29/11.  Any help would be greatly appreciate.
HP Techs were not knowledgeable whatsoever.  They had my put the computer back to factory settings (didn't work), check the bios (didn't work), check the hard-drive (both short and long test) (didn't work).  I hesitate to call them again because all 3 of them have been unhelpful throughout the process.
I've read that people have had this problem consistently with HP, even getting new HP's from the company and they still have the same problem.
    Thanks!

    @paulfulks
Try the following steps in sequence.
Perform a hard reset on the notebook. In order to do that, disconnect ac adapter, battery and any adittional devices or peripherals connected to the notebook. Press and hold down power button for 5-10secs.
Power on the notebook and Uninstall Audio drivers of your notebook from Control Panel and restart the computer. After the restart is done, install the updated sound drivers by downloading it from here

    Hi!
I remove by mistake the realtek audio device high definition audio bus. Now, the sound of my computer is not working. What should I do?

first go to start-all programs- windows update is at the top of the list follow the prmpts to install microsoft update which is the new version of windows update if microsoft update is all ready installed go there and select custom then let it look for updates
then if it detects missing drivers it will install or guide you on what to do. If you have an r52 laptop then try this link.
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_CA/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-58599 the best of luck.
2 if that doesnt work then try this  open device manager right click on the sound device you may have to expand sound, video and game controlers on the tab that comes up select properties then select the drivers tab  select update driver.
do it this way incase the driver installation failed the frist time it may not ask you to update again if you didnt uncheck the box that came up on frist try.
3.find a mother board disk and search the disk using explore for ac97 realtech driver. actually windows update should solve it also try there  FIX IT web site there are many automatied fixes there for your use.

  • My audio disappeard when Im working in a project but the sound in my computer works. How can that be?

My audio in Logic Pro disappeard when Im working in a project but the sound in my computer works. How can that be?

    Logic Pro>Preferences>Audio>Devices>Coreaudio
That can be because Logic can have its' audio hardware configured, different from System Preferences>Sound, which is the config all other apps use. You've probably assigned Logic to some inactive audio port.

  • HT5517 In multiple Apple TV's installation how can one prevent one iOS device from taking over the connection of another iOS device?

I am working on a system design where I would like to install 5 Apple TV's so when clients walk in with their iPhones they can connect to the network and be able to stream their audio to facility zone speakers where they will be working. But I am looking to prevent others from taking over that connection. I have never installed multiple Apple TV's in one site but I assume one would name them differently (Apple TV 1 - 5) when setting them up. I am also assuming when I walk in with my iphone and use the airplay I would see all 5 Apple TV's listed. Once I choose Apple TV 1 for instance, I do not want others to walk in and see Apple TV 1 on the list any longer so they do not have the oportunity to select it inadvertantly. Is this doable?

You can't remove them from the list, but you can set a password for airplay to each Apple TV

  • Can I control the sound on users computer

    Hi
I have a high school lab with 25 new intel iMacs. Is it possible to control the sound on the user computer so they can not use it. I have Mac server 4.10.10 and Apple Remote 3.0, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
    Perry

Assuming you can't reset this by removing or locking the particular Sound settings in System Preferences via Workgroup Manager (WGM), then take a look at:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1141459
It's not exactly the same, but it might well point you at a solution.
If you're just getting going with Macs in this particular environment, then you'll likely come to realize the Workgroup Manager and Server Admin tools are going to be your BFFs.

  • How do I reset the sound on my computer?

I've been having problems with the sound. It seems to be more of a software issue than a hardware issue. I switched to a guest account and the audio worked fine on my macbookpro. When I switched to my private account the sound didn't work at all. I think that by reseting something everything would go back to normal. Any suggestions?

I have had this happen occasionally on my iMac. One or the other of these has nearly always worked for me:
    • In System Preferences, select Sound, then click on the Output tab. After making sure the Mute box is not checked (if so, a headslap is required    ), drag the blue pointer on the Output Volume slider to any new position. You should hear a 'beep' (or whatever your system sound for such action is), and you're in business.
    • If you're using any external device for sound (a speaker system, or headphones), unplug and replug the connection at the Audio Out jack of your computer.
On the very rare occasions where neither of the above solved the problem, a Restart did the trick.
