Audition shuts down when I go into edit view

Just recently, when i tried going into Edit View Audition has begun crashing after i receive the same 2 error messages. I have been able to duplicate these messages every single time I try this. (Also the program loads and performs perfectly in Multitrack view). Anyway, the first message is...
Shutting Down...
To continue working where you left off, please restart Audition
[OK]
(then after I press ok...)
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Audition 3.0\Audition.exe
R6025
- pure virtual function call
[OK]
Since this has started happening (maybe 3 days ago) I've uninstalled EVERYTHING that I have installed in the past week, tried renaming the 3.0 folder, tried reinstalling audition and many other things that I've read online, and absolutely none of it has helped. Does anyone on Earth have any suggestions, because not being able to go into Edit View is absolutely crippling.
Audition 3 worked perfectly for me for over a year now and just suddenly I can't do a damn thing with it. I really think we need to finally figure out a real solution to this (because I know many other people have had this problem, although i'm not sure if it's just when they try to go into edit view...)

I suspect changing the audio driver won't make a difference, though it's certainly worth a shot.  Generally, when something like this occurs in certain editing modes, but not others, it's related to the Workspaces documents.<br /><br />It's pretty simple to verify:  Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\3.0\ and move or rename the two Workspaces folders.  (Note: AppData may not be visible by default depending on your configuration, but you can manually append it to the location bar and it should become visible.)<br /><br />After moving these folders, launch Audition.  Audition will rebuild them to the defaults.  Let us know if the problem still occurs.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Durin

  • Palm Desktop 6.2 automatically shuts down when trying to create/edit calendar events

    Hi,
    I have a Palm Pre and PD 6.2 installed on my computer. Right now I have Win 7 on 32 bits installed but I have encountered this issue also on Win XP 32 bits SP3, Win7 64 bits, on my machine and also on other machines.
    PD shuts down automatically when I do any of the following actions:
    -Calendar - Right Click - New Event - PD Shuts Down
    -Calendar - Left Click to create event - Type some text in - Then click outside the event slot - Then right click on the event - Click on Edit or Repeat - PD Shuts Down
    -Calendar - Import an existing event - Then right click on the event - Click on Edit or Repeat - PD Shuts Down
    My PD6.2 is clean. I have re-installed my OS on my machine for many times. Just right after the install when I go to Calendar and I try to create/edit and event it shuts down. I have tried on some other machines. I have tried also on WinXP - same results.
    I have trying to remove the datebook.mdb file out of Documents\PalmOSDesktop\Devicename\Datebook, but still with no luck.
    The only thing that comes to my mind is that the installation might be corrupt, but I'm not doing anything abnormal, I install PD following the recommended settings. I have downloaded PD 6.2 from Palm's web site also. I just don't know what to do.
    I hope that someone has an answer to this.
    Thank You

    You are correct this is a result of a corrupt install. Is there anything that could be connecting the installs of Palm Desktop? Like the same CD being used, same download file, or the same data?
    Here is the instructions for a clean uninstall:
    You should first make a copy of your data. If you have Palm Desktop 4.2 and lower you can copy your user folder by going to C:\Program files\Palm or PalmOne. Once in here look for your username and right click on it and copy it. Then open up My Documents and Pasting it in here. If you have Palm Desktop 6.2.2 go to My Documents/Documents --> Palm OS Desktop. Copy the folder(s) in here and Paste them in My Documents/Documents
    Now you will need to uninstall Palm Desktop. First go to Control Panel and in XP go to Add and Remove documents, in Vista Programs and Features. Then look for Palm Desktop and uninstall it. Then go to C:\Program files\Palm or C:\Program files\PalmOne and delete this folder. If you have Vista you will need to go to here:
    C:\Program files\Palm
    C:\Users\[Vista Login Name]\appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm or PalmOne
    C:\Users\[Vista Login Name]\appdata\Palm or PalmOne
    *Note you may need to view hidden folders to get to appdata. To do that go into your Control Panel and open folder options. Go to view tab and uncheck hide hidden files.
    One this is done you will need to delete some registry keys from your registry.
    Word of warning, going here and deleting the wrong thing can cause your PC from starting up, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel you are unsure of your self see if you have a friend that can help you or a PC technician that you can pay to help you. This will show them everything they need to delete. To help against this we need to do a backup.
    Go to start and run type "regedit" without quotes
    Highlight MY COMPUTER, go to File --> export. Should pop up with a Save As box. Current location is fine should be in My Documents. In the file name on the bottom type "backup[todaysdate]" i.e. backup07072008. Next, the hard part.
    Easiest way to make sure your doing the right one highlight the key i.e. Palm Quick Install, and press delete on your keyboard. It will ask you are you sure. Say yes. Do the same thing for all keys below.
    If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician. BUT do not turn off your computer.
    The Registry keys are as follows (Note: some of these Registry keys will not be here but if they are, delete them)
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc.
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmOne
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource
    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource
    Next reboot your computer
    Then reinstall your palm desktop from the CD and do a hotsync. If it asks you for a username and you synced your device before, put in 'test" if you did not sync before create a hotsync name.

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
    If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
    But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

  • MBP shuts down when not plugged into wall

    hey there,
    was wondering if anyone has experienced this paritcular problem or knows what to do...
    I've had my MBP for about a week now, and I just notcied a day that it randonmly shut down... but it was only once, so I though it wasn't that big of a deal. I left the computer charging all night ast night, and when I tried to start it without it being connected to the wall, it wouldn't boot. I checked my batter power, which is 89% full, reset the PRAM and reset all of my premissions, but it still shuts off everytime the DC adapter isn't plugged in. I aso ran the memtest program for RAM which someone on this forum had suggested, but it says that everyhting is A-Ok... What do i do? Somebody, please help!

    I am having the exact same problem as you! The computer will run all day plugged into the wall, but after I remove power, it shuts down within 10-15 minutes. It usually refuses to start up again at all until you plug it back in, even though the lights on the battery indicate full charge. After plugging in and restarting, OS X still reports full battery charge. I have tried resetting the PRAM and PMU, and also cleaning the magsafe connections. Apple Hardware Test reports no problems.
    I added a stick of Techworks memory from OWC when I got the computer. Other people with sporadic shutdown problems seem to be pointing to bad memory as the culprit. I don't know if that applies here though, because the problem only happens on battery power. Also, I installed the memory as soon as I got the computer and it's been working fine for almost a month now. My shutdowns didn't start until a couple of days ago. I think i will remove this extra stick of memory and see if the problem goes away, just in case. Maybe you should try removing the additional memory you got from the apple store to see if you got a defective piece.
    I haven't tried calling apple yet regarding this. Have you? I'm curious to see what they say about it.

  • Why Is Dreamweaver CS4 Shutting Down When Making Changes In Code View?

    Hi,
    When in Code View, and trying to make a change to such, Dreamweaver is automatically shutting down. Heck, I can't even press Enter while in Code View without it shutting down.
    I had this problem before, and a friend suggested holding down the Shift key while restarting DW. It worked at that time, but that suggestion is not working now.
    I've tried restarting the computer, repairing disk permissions, and still having the same problem.
    Does anyone have a remedy for this?
    Thank you.

    Yes, I am on a Mac.
    The application Dreamweaver quit unexpectedly.
    Don't have any DW extensions.
    Deleted the plist files, and still had the same problem.
    Found another DW pref file. Deleted that, and it works.

  • ICal shuts down when I edit an entry, without taking the edit

    Since installing Leopard on my Macbook, I have had a whole list of problems. Here's one: iCal shuts down when I edit an entry. In particular, I'm trying to remove an alarm from a recurring event. I click "none" and then before I can click "done" the whole program shuts down.
    Help!

    I am still using OS X 10.4.10. Since this weekend I ma unable to do anything with ICAL. As soon as I try to make a change, it crashes. I have tried reinstalling, etc. Any suggestions?

  • IMac shuts down when i try to log into some user accounts

    Installed Lion on my mid 2010 iMac.
    Now when I log into one of my accounts it starts to log in, then decides it doesn't want to and restarts the machine.
    Guest account works fine, and when I made another account that works fine as well.  Just keeps shutting down when I try to log into my main account.

    Thanks for that.  It looks like it is mail causing the problem.  Took mail out of launch at start up and seems to be working ok now.
    All I have to do now is make sure I remember to turn off mail before I shut down my computer.

  • MacBook shuts down when not connected to power supply

    Hey everyone, I'm making this topic for an issue that has gotten me edgy lately.
    My MacBook (not new) has a habit on shutting down on me instantly for some reason when the MacBook is not plugged into charge. Here is the strange thing though, if I unplug the charger plug and set it still on my desk, I have more of a chance of the laptop not failing on me, but when I carry the MacBook around, it has a 90% (guestimate) chance of shutting down on me.
    Even after having the laptop plugged in for 12 hours, the laptop just goes into suspend mode.
    I have to wait a couple of seconds before I can turn it back on (by pressing the power button, not any key).
    Also, when I shut down more programs at certain times when not plugged in, and having the screen brightness low, the Mac does not shut down so fast.
    Any advice?!
    Thanks

    Could be you battery. Mine shuts down when showing 40% charge left and I have to plug it into the power supply to fix it. I found out it was the battery by downloading coconut battery. It's an application that allows you to check the status of your battery (Link at bottom). I suggest you get that and when your macbook shuts down again, plug it into the mains, start it up and run coconut battery. If it shows your nearly out of battery power then that's your problem.
    I was showing 40% left when it shut down. Did the above and I had no power left. It happens when the battery is old about 250-400 loadcycles
    Hope this helps.

  • Iphoto keeps shutting down when making a book

    Iphoto just keeps shutting down when I am trying to make a book. Every time it shuts down, it erases most of the content of my book. Help!

    birdiemac:
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Where in the process does it shut down? When you try to drag a photo into the book or into a page?
    If it's when trying to add a photo, can you edit that photo without crashing and do you use Photoshop Elements or Photoshop for any of your editing?
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application, iPhoto dB file backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar

  • Itunes shuts down when clicking anything

    My iTunes shuts down when I click anything on the screen other than the music. If I click anything on the sidebar (Store, Playlists, Library, etc.) or the album artwork it shuts down. I have tried pulling all the iTunes preferences out of the library and restarting the computer. This does not fix the problem. This has been going on for a few months, but I have been downloading the newest versions of iTunes and it continues to happen.

    Hey chaimoy,
    It seems like you may be experiencing an unexpected quit from iTunes when importing a file into the iTunes library. I have an article for you that addresses this circumstance, and it can be found below:
