Audition Won't Actually Write A CD, But It Will Spin It!

Greetings Helpful People:
I am still kinda new to using Audition, but all things are working well, except for CD writing.
A couple weeks ago, when I was ready to burn my first CD in (trial) Audition, the CD spun around and around and all the appropriate bars lit up and it told me that all was well an CD writing successful - but there was actually no music or anything on the CD - and the disc was still usable (not a coaster).
So, I went online here to the Support pages here and I read about errors when writing to a CD and how to fix them.
The document I read said to navigate to the Adobe file on my PC and delete the 3.0 folder.
I did this and it worked great after that.
So now, after a fresh install of Audition (full edition) everything is cool, ecxept for the CD writing again.
I have deleted the 3.0 folder, but Audition still goes thru the burning process and tells me CD successful though the disc is still empty.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can get this to work?
I thought that ther'd be something in this forum, but my search didn't turn up anything.
Thanks in advance!

nothing yet huh?
do you have other CD burning programs such as Nero or Sonic/Roxio
and (if you do) can you burn from those with that burner
I'm thinking 3 things
either AA doesn't like your burner
or
some system service Registry entry or Group policy etc. is preventing you from accessing the burner with AA
or
the burner is about to go fritz

  • QT won't play certain .avi files but VLC will - Both files using same codec

    Hi,
I have numerous video files and all but two will play on quicktime. However, they will play on VLC. The files are .avi just like the others and the codecs on the two streams are xvid and mpga. The other .avi files have the same codecs. I have all the norm codecs perian, div x, x vid etc.
The files do open in quicktime but only last 5 seconds as opposed to the full 42 or so minutes. The audio and video for the 5 seconds is fine. On VLC, they play for the entire 42 or so minutes.
any idea why they will play on VLC but not fully on quicktime? is there another codec I should get? Thanks for your help

The files do open in quicktime but only last 5 seconds as opposed to the full 42 or so minutes. The audio and video for the 5 seconds is fine. On VLC, they play for the entire 42 or so minutes.
Could be timecode breaks (would normally suspect the audio track). The QT Player is particularly strict with them. If you have QT Pro, you might try extracting both tracks to separate players and see which is causing the problem. If just the audio, you could then fix the timecodes (MPEG Streamclip?) or convert to another compatible format and and re-merge the original video with the "fixed" audio track.

  • Arch won't load my mdraid array, but ubuntu will?

    Hi guys,
So I had a Mythbuntu 8.04.1 box set up in a mdadm RAID 5 with the /boot on a usb drive, but the mobo is out for warranty.  I threw all the drives in my desktop and copied over the mdadm.conf file, but it only assembles and mounts at boot sporadically under Arch.  If I use my Ubuntu /boot usb to boot up, it works fine, and normally rebooting from Ubuntu and going back into Arch it will then detect, assemble, and mount correctly.  I used that as my go to fix up until now, as attempting to reassemble under Arch has not been successful.  But that isn't working today.  ATM, cat /proc/mdstat is showing only one drive out of the three.  What could possibly be causing this behavior?
    Thanks.

    Hi Rustyintegrale,
    A couple of questions...
    1. Does the unit immediately kernel panic when power from the bus hits the drive?
    2. Does it happen in multiple users?
    3. If you startup, interrupt the boot process and boot to the startup manager (by holding option on startup) and then plugin the SuperDrive does it kernel panic there as well?
When a peripheral causes a unit to go into this state, there's little that can be done to troubleshoot from a software perspective. Especially if your answer to all three questions above was "yes." You can certainly try resetting the PRAM & SMC, to see if there is any change. But, I think the next best step might be to bring the machine and this optical drive to see a qualified technician.

  • DVD won't play in my mac, but it will in the DVD player

So we made this great little film about our son swimming and burned it to a disk. The disk playes just fine in regular dvd players. However, when we tried to view it on the computer, it says that it is a blank disk. Why would this be and how can I view the movie on my computer?
    Thanks

    Welcome turk_cubed
Try making a disc image from the file menu of your iDVD6 project first. Test that disc image with apple's DVD Player application. If it plays as expected then use apple's disc utilities or toast to burn to Verbatim DVD-R or Maxell at 4x or slower.
    Hope this is Helpful.

  • How come a USB will work with both Mac and Windows (as in that there are already files from Windows and Mac can still read and write onto it) but a external Hard Drive won't (as in there are files from Windows on there but Mac can read but not write)?

I have a Seagate Drive that I'm hoping to copy some movies from my Mac onto (because it only has a 512 SSD and I'd rather keep that empty and handy for more readily needed files) but it won't work. It shows up as a drive when connected (with the orange USB drive icon popping up) and is appropirately labeled "FreeAgent Drive", but when I try to copy files onto it it won't work. There are already windows files on there, such as some windows backups and lot's and lot's of pictures and videos. However, I have several USBs which already have windows files on them (namely movies, music, and other stuff) and copying and stuff works fine. Why won't it work with this hard drive and would work with USBs? Please help me out here guys, I am not experienced with Hard disks and formatting and stuff like that. 10 points for whoever helps me out the most. Thanks.

We will need to reformat your EXT, but it will then work on both Mac and Win
Connect the drive to your Mac, open disk utility
Go to the partiton tab and select '1' ... format should be ExFAT ... in options select MBR
    Format the drive
It should now work on both OSs; report back

  • Audition won't open except through Premiere Pro CS4

So last year my issue was when I got CS4, Premiere Pro wouldn't open unless I had After Effects and Audition 3.01 already open; and then I had to attempt to open Premiere three times -- then it would open. That was the magical solution. I don't know why it worked that way, but that's the way it was.
After years of faithful service, now Audition won't open. On the other hand, Premiere Pro opens the first time without any other Adobe program being open.
    My jaw dropped.
Audition will open if I want to edit a sound file from Premiere Pro. I haven't added any new Audition VST goodies lately.
But if I try to open it from the desktop, the error msg reads:
AppName: audition.exe    AppVer: 2.0.5306.2    ModName: unknown
    ModVer: 0.0.0.0   Offset: 6c694620
I tried the Run As solution that was posted here, but no joy.
In fact, I can't even uninstall and reinstall Audition because the process halts with a message that the
components.msi in the Windows folder is missing or bad.
I'm running this on a Sony Viao VGC-RC219G with Windows XP SP3.

Thanks, Steve, for your prompt reply.
I would have liked to uninstall and re-install, but either XP or Audition wouldn't let me.
I kept trying 'Repair' under the Add Or Remove Programs, but consistently there was an error message saying that a file '_1FEE7blahblahblah' in Data1.cab was missing or corrupt. I happen to have another copy of Audition running on my laptop, so I copied the Data1.cab to a thumbdrive and copied it into the Audition folder on my desktop computer.
It finally allowed me to run the repair and everything seems OK.
Even CS4 Premiere Pro has gone back to being broken. . .although I think it's a Quicktime issue.
    The fun never stops.

  • Audition won't open an MPEG 2 (.mpg) file states

audition won't open an MPEG 2 (.mpg) file states it is either corrupt or unsupported. On a windows 7 system I have DLMS enabled and still can't get it to work.
    Thanks,!!

You haven't said which version of Audition you are using. From the appropriate Adobe page:
Adobe Audition 3 can not open MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 files. An earlier version of Audition, Adobe Audition 2.0, could read MPEG files only if it was installed as a part of the Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio software suite. (Audition does not include the software license required to encode and decode MPEG files; the license was a part of Production Studio.)
I'm not sure about whether Audition CS5.5 will, but I think that CS6 and CC should.
Or perhaps your file is corrupted!

I have an external hard drive, from Iomega. that I can open and see my files. However, I cannot copy or save any file to it. On my PC I have it says that is possible to read and write in it, but in my Mac, it says I can only read. can somebody help me?
Also, Im a photographer, so I like to name a lot of files at the same time (used to do in on PC and it was very usefull.) cannot find out how to do it on my Mac. Really appretiate if some one can give me a solution! Thanx

Your drive is formatted with the NTFS file system.  OS X can read but not write to the NTFS file system.  There are third party drivers available that claim to add the ability to OS X to write to an NTFS partition.  I have not tried them and don't know if they work.
The only file system that OS X and Windows can both write to natively is the FAT32 file system.

  • Hp 7525 Photosmart printer won't scan to my PC but will scan to other PCs on the LAN

Hp 7525 Photosmart printer won't scan to my PC but will scan to other PCs on the LAN.  I tried to install the printer software but it says it is already installed.  Do I have a security setting wrong?
Other PC names show up on the printer's touch screen but not mine.  We are all on the same wireless subnet with the printer at a fixed IP address.
I can print from my PC and scan from my PC but I can't scan from the printer touchscreen to my PC.

    Hi,
You may have to start from your computer first:
Double click printer icon on desktop,
        Select Manage Scan to Computer
        Click Enable -
Restart your printer to see, is your machine in the list ?
    Regards.
