  • What is Speech Recognition and how do you use it?

Hello, people. I was on my System Preferences and just out of curiosity, I clicked on Speech. Then there was a tab on the right called Speech Recognition. What is Speech Recognition and how do you use it?

When you turn it on the default should be listen only when ESC key is pressed. Hold the ESC key and say, in your normal voice, "show me what to say".
For fun.. say "tell me a joke"

  • What is javadoc for and how can i use it?

    Hello,
I want to know what for
*/is and how I can use it?

    It works like this:
You add comments between /** and */ in your source code for all your classes, methods, variables etc. Then you run the javadoc tool, which is included with the JDK. Read the Javadoc Tool Documentation for instructions about how to use it.
The javadoc tool looks at the comments in your source code and generates a directory containing HTML pages. The HTML pages contain the documentation of all your classes and methods.
Why would you want this? Because other people who are going to use your source code do not want to browse through all of your source code all the time to find out how your classes work. Having a good manual in the form of HTML pages generated by javadoc is much more convenient.

  • What does this do, and how do you use it?

    Thanks.

It's a sports-related title. Double click it and it will be edited as a connected clip above your primary storyline.
Select it and in the Inspector click on the Video tab. There are two drop zones. Click on one of them and select an image from your event. Repeat for the other. Hit Apply Clip.

  • What is this hidden "feature" in mobile Safari for and how can I use it?

OK, one day, like any geek would, I was in the car messing with my iPod touch. I was playing in Safari, typing in email addresses and such to get the exciting "WARNING - PHISHING SITE" screen. So I then tried typing "/" into the address bar, and when I hit "go", something interesting happened. The "/" changed to "file:///", and it tried to load it, but then popped up with an error message that said "This page could not be opened because it is a local file". Now I'm not new to the "file:///" thing, and I've used it to access folders using Chrome that Explorer wasn't showing for some reason. So, what if that tag used for? Obviously Apple has a use for it somehow since they included a little shortcut to get to it. I'll post some screenshots below so you can see what everything looks like:
So if this happens to have any use at all, I'd like to know about it!
I also asked this question over here:  http://lockergnome.net/questions/157444/what-is-this-hidden-feature-in-mobile-sa fari-for-and-how-can-i-use-it

That is a shortcut for opening a file locally stored on the iPod. This is not really useful since iOS does not permit such access to its file sustem.

in the top right corner of my iphone screen there is a small padlock with a circle around it, what is this for and how do i get rid of it, it has just popped up...

That is the orientation lock indicator. It means that you phone will not go into landscape mode when tilted on it's side.
To turn orientation lock off double tap the home button, to access the multitasking menu, then swipe your finger to the right over the multitasking bar at the bottom and touch the big button on the left with the padlock.

  • What are muse templates and how do i use them?

what are muse templates and how do i use them?

thank you for the information. the reason i am asking is that i am having a problem with a website i am building in muse, specifically the functionality of my accordion menu. the accordion menu is on the left side of the page with a couple of elements directly beneath it. i would like the elements directly below the accordion menu to be pushed down when the menu is opened, however the menu is pushing everything on the page that is below down when it is opened. i have attached images to illustrate what i am talking about. is there any way that i can have the accordion menu push down just the elements directly below down and ignore all of the other elements on the page?

  • Ringbacktones - what are they and how do you use them

I went to VCast tones to download some Ringtones and accidently bought a Ringbacktone.
I would like to know what the Ringbacktones are and how do you configure them to work on your phone.
Downloading Ringtones and setting them up for different users is easy.   However, I don't see any way to download Ringbacktones or how to set them up for contacts.
Any information or instructions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

What are Ringback Tones? Ringback Tones is a new personalization service, which replaces the standard ringtone for your friends and family to enjoy. Choose a song for your callers to hear before you pick up a call. Use the language of music to express yourself before you answer a call and say a word.
How to purchase Ringback Tones? Ringback Tones may be purchased through the Internet, and through text messages to the Ringback Tone shortcode (728), use "RBT", "LIST", or the 3-digit song code in the message.* *Not Available in ALL Markets Check the Service Availability tab on the Ringback Tones Website.
Click HERE for more info on Ringback tones
You cannot upload your own ringback tones or make them. Ringback tones are stored to Verizon's servers. So you just cannot. You will have to buy one directly from Verizon if you want it
