AUR Download count

Is there any reason why we don't have a download count instead/alongside package voting. Surely it will give a better indication of what is to be included in community. Would it be hard to implement? Are there reasons against or for implementing it? Maybe this has alreay been discussed. What are your views?

Your missing the point. The votes don't tell the story of the most popular package, not everyone votes etc. A download count could give a more accurate picture of the most popular packages to be moved to the community repo. Or it could be a reflection on downloads and votes.

Content and Item Details download count does not jive

When I go to Reports > Details, the download count for a particular content title is 7,636. When I drill into the content by clicking on the hyperlinked iTunesID, I'm presented with a list of ALL detail items under the content item. When I add up the number under the download column, my total is only 7,388. I expected those numbers to match. Is that expectation wrong? If so, could you please explain why?

Since what you're trying to get is from iTunes U and hence carries no charge, have you tried just downloading it again from the start?
Note that, if you are in China as your profile indicates, there have been numerous and repeated problems with people accessing the iTunes Store from China as the government there sometimes blocks access to the iTunes Store (among many other web sites around the world) or otherwise may tinker with Internet access. So there may be little or nothing you (or Apple) can do.

Besides we are ignoring accessing by HTPP requests. Application is being access contents via RIDC API. Content access count of these access (actually no matter based on user, group nor another one in my case) just totally could be enough for us. In other words, my custom application webpage needs to show TopTen Usage/Access Contents on ucm. Is that expectaion in YES group?
I googled abit regarding to your mentioned about ContentTracker component and link you shared. Looked at ucm/cs Administration/SystemAuditInformation/ComponentResports navigation and i see below. I think we need to enable that. For now i dont know how to.

How to access Folio Download Count

Hello:
I would like to know how to check my total folio downloads count in the Digital Publishing Dashboard because i'm still not able to see any link or any section that shows me this information.

And is there a solution to see all downloads from all Folios with our admin account? Still we have to login with every account to see the numbers. That takes a lot of time ...

Download counts inaccurate

I've downloaded one theme from 3 different Adobe user IDs.
But it still shows zero downloads.
I've tried logging out and back in again.
It still shows zero downloads.
Other themes are showing accurate download counts, but not
this one.
Search for "Lydia" and you'll find it.

App Store download count

How can we tell how many times our app has been downloaded from the App Store?
We have an app up on App Store and our download count shows zero. We know we have had numerous downloads, but we have no idea how many downloads.
Is there anywhere we can get a download count for our app?? (other than waiting until the end of the month for the report)

Not yet, anyway. The download counts were on the App Store when viewed from an iPhone only on the first day, but then they disappeared. Now they're nowhere, and also not in iTunes Connect. AFAIK, developers will get a check and a financial report sometime after the end of a month reporting on the previous month's downloads and income (actually if it's a free app, maybe not even that).

Tracking of Download count

I have a problem relating to download track.
We're sending SMS of a link of the html page of our site. From that page .jad file can be downloaded in their mobile phones.We can count how many times those links are getting clicked. But is there any option to know whether the download is getting completed?

The default log format of Apache (and many other servers as well) does not allow you to identify interrupted downloads, because the log statement is written when the file starts downloading. You either need a more detailed log or let the download URL be handled by some Servlet that logs the successful download (even then it's not 100% sure, I think).

Hi Leon
You can surely link those images where users can download from site front end, but tracking of downloaded document needs to be done using a custom solution as it involves customer login, file count etc.
An easy way to achieve this would be to use Google Analytics which you would need to integrate , where it would record event tracking and report can be generated.

Also , you can try out using custom code for tracking the numbers , but that would involve whole body integration of download button, link to documents/images etc.

If you are using Business Catalyst to host your site , then let me know.
In BC we can use customer profile system and downloadable products, where the downloadable products/Images can be checked and report can be generated which would show the exact number of downloaded Images.
The above workarounds can be sued , there is no direct way to achieve this at current stage.

Once your book is published in the iBookstore can you get your book reviewed? How? Can you see the count of downloads of your book?

KM Report - Document hit/download count

Is there any way(report or other stuff) thorugh which we can track, let us say "a YYY document has been accessed by 75 people in the perio A & B".
How can we use WebTrend server in tracking user's access to KM Documents? Can we include Web Trend java script in some place.

I read one blog by Damien regarding the same some time back.
This can be done by developing a repository service which counts documents hits.
These are the steps to get this functionality:
Step 1: Creating a custom property: hitscount
Creating a new property is easy in Enterprise Portal.
Go to
System Administration/System configuration/Knowledge Management/Configuration/Content Management/Global Services/Property Metadata/Properties
and create a new property with the following attributes:
Description = Hit Counter
Unique ID = hitscount
Property ID = hitscount
Namespace alias = default
Type = Integer
Group = default
Mandatory = deactivated
Multi-Valued = deactivated
Read Only = activated
Maintainable = activated
Indexable = activated
Default Value = 0
Allowed Values (csv) = empty

Now, every documents in the repository list will have this new property (upload a new document and look in its details page, inside Miscellaneous tab!).
Step 2: Developing a repository service
Once we have created this new property we need a repository service which control it increasing his value in each document access.
To develop it we have used SAP Netweaver Developer Studio 2.0.12 with Repository Framework 7.1.5.
Substeps are:

The new service must be activated in those repositories that you want to control.

HT4059 Sample vs. Full book download count?

Does apple provide you with the number of iBook samples that were downloaded? So that you can compare it to how many full copies were bought.
My ranking keeps moving up, and I am wondering if it is becuase of many samples being downloaded. I know that a large number of copies werent bought yet.

Books which in their requirements section say they can only be viewed on an iPad are in .ibooks format and do not have page flipping.

Download count? Stuff posted on Itunes without consent!

I recorded an album with a good friend about 6 years ago. I recently discovered that this album is being sold on the Itunes Store without the consent of either the primary writer (my friend), or any of the musicians that played on the album (myself and others). Is there a way to find out how many times the songs have been downloaded, and who uploaded it? We haven't seen a dime, and my friend is really upset about this.
Also, how do you upload music to the Itunes Store. I have several albums I am interested in posting.

You'll need to contact the record label which licensed the album to the iTunes Store. That should be shown in the listing page for the album. Only the label could give you details on downloads and it's with them that you'd have the dispute over royalties.
As to getting other albums onto the iTunes Store, contact Apple via their web page for iTunes Marketing. You'll probably want to read their FAQ first.
They’ve reportedly been swamped with requests, so don’t be surprised if you don’t hear back from them soon or indeed ever. If you don't hear from them, you might want to consider working with the label who posted your first album (though you'll have to decide whether you can work with them or not) or signing up with a marketing service that already has a relationship. In another post, an Apple employee said that there are 600 already, including CD Baby and IODA. A new service that seems promising if true is TuneCore.
