  • Can a freelance LabVIEW programmer become an Alliance Member?

Looking at the application form it is clear that NI are (understandably) only interested in established companies who will generate lots of hardware sales for them. What about all the talented LabVIEW application and instrument driver developers who work on contract with smaller companies - any exposure for us? These are exactly the kind of people who need a central advertising space but cannot normally fund it themselves.

    > Thank you for the question! I'm curious for the official answer of the
    > company. I asked the same question at a regional meeting and got a
    > "you have got to draw a line somewhere" answer.
    > I think a lot of small businesses are interested in a paid
    > quality/expert-based mini-alliance membership.
    >
This isn't an official answer, but I can tell you what I have seen.
There are individuals that enter into the alliance program. They
typically have expertise in some area that makes them a good integration
choice for engineers using NI products. The key in my opinion is to
gain the confidence of the local sales person and convince them that the
regional users of NI products would be better off if you were doing
    integration work with the allianc
e program affiliation. You can also do
integration and not be in the alliance program.
Ultimately, the salesperson wants to see the people they sell products
to be successful in using them. If you have something to add to this
situation, then they will be open to sponsoring you into the program.
If you are looking to get your feet wet and get some experience, what
I'd recommend is approaching an existing alliance member in your area, a
busy one, and let them know that you are interested in free-lance work.
It will let you try things out, see if this sort of work is up your
alley. If things work out, then you have something to approach the
    salesperson with.

  • Widgets? - best option for recruiting company to display various 'current positions vacant'?

Which is the best widget in MUSE for a recruiting company looking to LIST vacant positions?  So a LIST of all the current positions then when you click on individual position titles, all the text info comes up about the role and perhaps even company logos and other industry images for that role??  Cheers for any help.

    Hi,
You can use a composition widget for this purpose. And if you want a compact one which can expand when clicked on it, then you can use the accordian widget under panels in the widget library.
Perhaps, if you could share a screenshot or a link to a website which has such a list , then it would be easy for us to help you with the most suitable widget for this purpose.
    Hope this helps

  • How to choose member position during ERPi metadata load ?

    Dear All ,
We are using ERPi to load data and metadata from EBS to our target Hyperion Planning Application .
during metadata load , members set to be at the root of the dimension .
My question , How to choose where the extracted members to be placed at certain position at EPMA Hierarchy

What you would do is set up your load rule as a dim build too. First pass you would load the data file as a dim build adding unknown members to a default parent like "Unknown Members". Then second pass, load the file again as data load and all members will exist for load to complete successfully.

  • Positions Vacant

My employer is currently looking for several people with Adobe Central Designer skills. At this stage they are looking at offering 6 month contracts to start ASAP.
If you are interested or know of someone who is and are in the area of Australia/Melbourne, please email me at [email protected]

I think that advertising on a help forum is telling me that I don't want to be a coworker. I'm glad that I'm not only not in Australia but I'm not retired from my current full time job yet. Besides, I doubt if your employer could afford me. No matter what the relative cost of living might be but my 36 years in the IT business (including the last 7 years using Central Pro & Output Designer) may not have gotten me to the 6 digit salary point (US $) but it has gotten pretty close.

  • Trouble positioning a stepper motor accurately (to one step)

I'm using a PCI-7344 with an MD7506 motor driver from RS. I'm testing angle sensors whose voltage output is proportional to (you've guessed it...) angle.
I'm stepping the motor round by one step, checking that it's got there by reading the encoder, measuring the sensor voltage and repeating.
My problem is that the motor sometimes 'hunts' around the target position. In closed loop (with an encoder associated with a motor) this results in sometimes not being able to reach the target exactly with the pull-in moves.
Using open-loop and reading the encoder directly I get better results because I can loop more times, but the motor will still 'hunt' around a target point, changing direction a few times as it over
    shoots by a step.
As there are a million MAX settings for this I won't list them all here, but I'm checking for a move complete when the InPos flag is set and I have a deadband of 0 steps too. I'm only rotating at 120 step/sec with a 10ms pause between steps.
Do I have to accept that stepper motors are only accurate to +/- 1 step or am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Mike,
Maybe other people will have better suggestions, but in my case I can advise to either:
    1. increase the number of pull-in moves,
    2. increase the microstepping of your drive,
2a... together with a higher precision encoder...
Other than that, the accuracy is advertised to +/- 1 step, so maybe you would like to consider a stepper with more steps/rev.
Good luck!, I hope other people will give other suggestions.
