Australian daylight savings time wrong under Mac OS X 10.7

The 'set date and time automatically' option displays the wrong time under Mac OS X 10.7 in Australia. I use Apple Asia (time.asia.apple.com) and I don't think it accounts for daylight savings time. I know I have the option the set the time manually, so it is not a large problem, However I'm just raising the issue. The time currently in Australia is 5:45pm and my computer running Lion displays 4:45pm. My iPhone running iOS 5 has no issues and displays the right time.

IPOD and Mac did not properly adjust for Daylight Savings Time

Hi, I have noticed that my iPod and my Mac Mini do not appear to have the latest update for Daylight Savings Time. There were a few adjustments this year that do not seem to be reflected on the Mac devices ??? I was using my iPod for time and was thrown off when time change before DST went into affect.

So, in your system preferences on the mini, under Date and Time, you have the box checked that says "Set date and time automatically"? Then, on the time zone tab, you have selected your correct time zone? I typically leave the box there unchecked that says to try and set automatically using current location.

Outlook 2011 for mac daylight savings time issue

I have a problem in my company where after daylight savings time meetings are shown an hour off in the calendar, but in the body of the meeting the time seems fine. The real problem is when after updating the meeting from it's body (just pressing save and
close) the meeting is bloated by an hour.
E.g. if a meeting after daylight savings time is from 11:00 to 12:00, it's shown on the calendar from 12:00 to 13:00, but after updating the meeting it's shown from 11:00-13:00.
This happens only on the macs in the company.

IPhoto 9.2.1 displaying wrong time on photo after changing back from daylight savings time

Europe went back to standard time (from daylight savings time) on Sunday morning, Oct. 30. In my Nikon D7000 I changed the time accordingly by retaining the time zone (UTC+1) but switching Daylight Savings to OFF. The times on the photos display correctly in the camera and in Finder. They also display correctly in EXIF-O-Matic. In iPhoto 9.2.1, however, they display with one hour added. Has anybody else encountered this problem?
Just tried to reproduce the error but could not. Without changing any of the time zone settings I shot a photo and imported it into iPhoto. The time in iPhoto is now correct. I am absolutely sure that I set Daylight Savings to OFF in the camera before taking any photos on Oct. 30. Perhaps the problem has to do with importing on Oct. 30, the day of the change?

You should not be importing that Library.
Never import one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
You simply restore the Library from Time Machine and then open it.

2007 Daylight Savings Time Changes

What, if any, effects will the 2007 changes to US daylight savings time have on the operation of the LabVIEW 7 Express development environment and deployed applications created with it?

I believe the answer depends on the OS the application runs under.
If MS has there act together and the machine in question has recieved updates, there should be no issue.
If you are running Unix (or a variation o such), a patch must be applied (at least that was the story my wife gave for working all night Saturday night).
I can not answer this Q for Mac or LV-RT running under Pharlap.

Daylight Savings Time for the USA

I am trying to add a new entry for the new daylight savings time change implemented in the United States in a 4.6C system. I am trying to make the change per SAP note 919538.
The problem is when I go into transaction STZBC, and try to add a new entry for the USA, after I input what was stated in the SAP note and try to save the new entry, I receive an error "Choose the key from the allowed name space".
How have others implemented this change? I am unsure of modifying the entry that is there already for the USA since the sap note says to add a new entry.

Isn't this message informational only?? It does not show as an Error. If you hit Enter a couple of times, it should go thru...
I am not sure if it will wipe out the previous entry under the Key "USA"from the table.
Make a note of the previous values before u hit enter. After you have made the change, check if it overwrote that value.
If not, then you should be fine..If yes, chnage the value under USA to he original values and open up an OSS message.

Has anyone had problems in v5.0a of Iplanet calendar installed on a Sun box with creating events and daylight savings time?

Events created around 4/6/2002 at 8pm get created with the wrong time (9pm) and there are several other creation and display problems tied to Daylight Savings in April and October. Version 5.1 of the software seems to fix that but we are looking for a fix until we can upgrade. We have been using Windows systems to access the calendar.

We have not seen exactly this, but many users appointments are lining up in the wrong time slots. Also, when scheduling, the time display is off by an hour. We have found what looks like a temporary fix.
We noticed that the problem only affects users who have the start of the week set to Sunday (when daylight savings time started). Setting the week to start on Monday fixed our display problems (you can do it in the users, options section).

In 2007 when the US changes the start/end dates for daylight savings time, will Apple patch 10.4.x, 10.3.x etc?

Apple has already patched Mac OS X 10.4 for the changes; this is included in Mac OS X 10.45 and newer.

All Event times change with Daylight Savings time

With the time change associated with daylight savings time (March 8 2008) all my event times were changed by one hour. EG: events that were 8:45 am are now 7:45 am. I have tried using Time machine to restore to pre March 8 status,but an adjustment takes place and the events remain 1 hour ahead. I have looked through the discussions pages and don't even see the issue identified. I have looked through the menu and preference items and find nothing to help.
I am surprised not to find this a front page topic today, March 9 2008.
Can anyone offer some help ?

I never have changed time zones. Are you suggesting I should have time zone support enabled ?
I just tried turning on Time Zone Support, then restoring my calendar using Time machine. No change here.
As I mentioned earlier, this same problem occurred in the fall (although I don't remember which way the event times moved), this time they moved forward. At the Fall change I was using a Mac G4, which I used as a target to build this machine. The only thing I can think of that makes me unique (although I'm not in that small of a group) is that I have altered one of the files in iSync to allow iSync to sync calendar events with iCal. The syncing has always worked OK.
Right now I'm leary of attempting to do anything with iSync. I'm also finding it difficult to believe I'm not one of 10,000 people experiencing the same problem, but I don't see any other posts.
I found a time zone in south america which returns my times to the correct figure, with time zone support enabled, but that looks like a deeper hole to dig out of.

Reinstall issue: Is this a Daylight Savings Time Glitch?

I was reinstalling my system software (Garage band was lost when hard drive was backed up)and, after reinstall, the system goes to login screen. After login, the computer immediately goes to Unix login.
I looked at other threads, and can get back to the Mac login but never past it. I found a suggestion to run a diagnostice command "tail -10 /var/log/system.log" and the messages I get all included "unable to synchronize window backing store" The word "sychronize" made me think about the Daylight Savings time change as a source of the problem.
Any ideas?

I have not been able to find out what the message means, without any success. Someone may come along with the knowledge to solve that riddle.
First, I suggest that you boot from your install disk and run Repair Disk:
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
If that does not help post back with a description of exactly what is on your screen when you try to boot.

I have used RealVNC Free program (http://www.realvnc.com)in all my systems with no problem, if interested hereis a quick way to install it.:

Daylight Savings Time and Calendar?

What will happen to my iPhone calendar events come daylight savings time?

I have had that problem on my mac and iPhone. In my calendar it shows one hour later and even on my alarm clock app it is changing times, just odd random things.
On my iPhone I changed the time setting and it did not help. I am avoiding doing a total wipe and restore or whatever, because I don't want to go through the hassle of re doing everything.
I keep fixing my calendar and it keeps giving me trouble. Let me know if anybody has any ideas.

This must have been asked and answered before, but I haven't seen it: is there a download to re-format the Mac for the new Daylight Savings Time dates?

You will need to upgrade to 10.4.8 first, and then run this update:

Is there and update for the new Daylight Savings Time on March 11, 2007. the government changed it for this year. iCal won't let you modify the event.

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
As you have noticed, you cannot modify a subscribed calendar.
Since your system has been updated to 10.4.8 it will recognize the change, but the current Holiday Calendar available through Apple-Mac OS X-iCal-Library has not yet been updated to reflect the change.
If you want to subscribe to a different calendar, it appears that the iCalShare Holiday Calendar has been properly updated to reflect the correct Daylight Savings time.
