Authentication error message

I recently bought a BT 600 wifi extender, since then although signal has improved I am repeatedly getting an " authentication error" on my mobile phone and kindle fire and I have to keep reconnecting to the WiFi, sometimes several times a day. I have given up completely on using my Smart TV.
I thought esp as I have a BT Hub the two would work well together, but I can't be doing with have to reconnect all the time. Sometimes I don't notice my phone has disconnected so this month I've had to pay out for going over my data limits.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks

    Is the Facebook app. for the Droid down today?  I ask because my Droid hasnt been working properly lately and I have no idea if its just my phone or if the whole Facebook app for the Droid not working?  Sorry for a silly question.

    It started working a few hours after i posted this.  the issues i have been having is that the the phone freezes and does force close.  it will also automatically change the time to a completely random time zone.  i get that authentication error message even on my email account that is synced to the droid.
    overall i like my droid, it just seems very temperamental.
    thanks for your response.

    We've had that problem. We opened a ticket with Sun and they confirm it as bug in 7.1.

  • Can't send email because of 'password authentication' error message.

    I am having a problem sending email. I can receive emails but not send. The message I am getting is "The SMTP server "mail.grandecom.net" (my provider's server) doesn't support Password authentication. Please check you account settings..."
    I have checked my account settings and tried all of the variables many, many times already. i have called my ISP and confirmed the settings with them. I have 4 different mail clients on my computer and they will all correctly receive and send using the same settings as those on the ipad yet still get them same error message.
    I am using the iPad over wi-fi.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I would delete the problem email account and re-enter the the account. It is easy to make an error in setting up the account but hard to find the error and that is why deleting and reentering it is often better,

  • LDAP Authentication Error Message in web log

    Hello,
    I am using Iplanet 6.0 Enterprise.
    I am trying to set up an acl on a particular directory on my web server, but I keep getting an error which I don't understand:
    <b>
    [11/Mar/2002:15:32:27] security ( 68):

    </b>
    Here is the entry in my acl file:
    <b>
    acl "uri=/dnt";
    authenticate (user,group) {
         database = "ldap://home.directory.ray.com/ou=person,o=raytheon.com,c=US";
         prompt = "Please login using your Corporate Directories login";
    deny (all)
    (user = "anyone");
    allow (all)
    (user = "all");
    </b>
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    -Mike

    Try changing your acl entry for "database". Instead of defining the ldap url in the "database" entry, specify the "database=default" and define the ldap url in the userdb/dbswitch.conf file. The following entries will need to be defined in the userdb/dbswitch.conf file:
    directory default ldap://<url>:port/o%raytheon
    default:binddn cn="Directory Manager"
    default:encoded bindpw <encoded bindpw>
    You can use the "Configure Directory Service" option in Admin Server GUI(using "Global' settings tab) of to create the entries in dbswitch.conf file.
    Hope it helps.

  • Authentication error on Linksys RE6500

    Hello, i am from holland.
    My setup Ubee EVW 320B set up as bridge, hardwired to the linksys EA 6900 and trough wifi connecting to Linksys RE6500. After the setup everything works great but, after a while if you are in range of the extender all the devices (laptop, Mac book, Ipod, iPhone, Ipad) will loose connection and it says authentication error. (verificatiefout in dutch) Can some one please tell me what is wrong? the range extender is in good range of the EA 6900. Already went back to the store and got a new RE 6500 because i thought it was broken but the new one is doing the same. All firmware is up to date on the devices
    Greetings Erik

    The authentication error message is unusually. Can you provide more details on that?

  • Authentication Error WRT54G

    All of a sudden the last couple of months, wirless devices will be unable to log onto my WRT54G router. You get an "authentication error" message. The only way to clear this up thatI've been able to find so far is to reboot thte router. This never happened before up until a couple of months ago. Now every couple of weeks. Very annoying since I'm not here much of the time to rebott and I need some devices connected. What can I do about this?
    BTW, the wired ethenet connections do not drop connections.

    Since you already have the latest firmware, I suggest that you reset the router by pushing and holding down the reset button using a pin or a paper clip for 30 seconds. Power it off then for another 30 seconds and wait for the power light to go solid. Once the power light, you may the reconfigure the router. For instructions, you may refer to these links: Setting up a Linksys router with Cable Internet service, Setting up a Linksys router with DSL Internet service, and Setting up the wireless settings on the Linksys router using its web-based setup page.

  • Ldasearch against Microsoft AD - authentication error

    Hi,
    I'm having a strange issue with ldapsearch against Microsoft AD.
    I'm using this query:
    ldapsearch -p 389 -h <ad_host> \
    -D "CN=oraclesso,OU=Service Accounts,OU=Admin,DC=<domain>,DC=<domain>" \
    -w "<the_correct_password>" -s sub -b "DC=<domain>,DC=<domain>" "(&(objectcategory=person)(objectclass=user)(iceNc=1)" dn
    This query correctly returns the DNs I'm looking for on AD, but strangely ad the end of the command the following error message il also reported:
    LDAP AuthenticationException javax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - 80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C090334, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 525, vece^@]
    I've researched the "data 525" error and it means "user not found" and this is very strange because I'm sure that the "oraclesso" user exists on AD (this user is member of the Domain Admins group) and also I can successfully bind using that DN:
    ldapbind -D "CN=oraclesso,OU=Service Accounts,OU=Admin,DC=<domain>,DC=<domain>" -h <ad_host> -p 389 -q
    Please enter bind password: <the_correct_password>
    bind successful
    And if I use a wrong username I correctly get this message:
    ldapbind -D "CN=<wrong_username>,OU=Service Accounts,OU=Admin,DC=<domain>,DC=<domain>" -h <ad_host> -p 389 -q
    Please enter bind password: <a_wrong_password>
    ldap_bind: Invalid credentials
    ldap_bind: additional info: 80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C090334, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 52e, vece
    If the "oraclesso" user doesn't exist on AD (as indicated by the "data 525" error) I should not get any result from the ldapsearch command or at least I should only get an authentication error message. Instead I'm getting the correct list of users plus the authentication error at the end. I cannot explain this.
    This is preventing me from configuring the OID-AD integration because the initial bootstrap of the users is failing as the authentication fails.
    Can you help?
    Thank you

    I assume the same user definitions will exist both in AD and internal store
    If so can achieve as follows:
    - define an i]dentity sequence. Select Password Based authentication method and select AD in list of "Authentication and Attribute Retrieval Search List". Select "Internal Users" in list of 'Additional Attribute Retrieval Search List". Can also select the option "If internal user/host not found or disabled then exit sequence and treat as "User Not Found" to ensure that only users defined in the internal store get access
    - Select the defined Identity Sequence as result in the Identity Policy for the TACACS+ service
    This means that when TACACS+ request is received, authentication will be performed against AD. If that succeeds then attributes will be retrieved for the internal user and can be used in policy

  • YouTube app - Authentication Error

    I've been researching for over an hour and a half, thinking I've found the answer, only for it to fail.  I'm a bit aggravated, and this is my first post here, so forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong area.
    Okay... deep breath.  Here it goes.
    I'm attempting to log in to the YouTube app on my iPhone 4S (with iOS 6.1.2).  Every single time I log in, I get that dreadful "Authentication Error" message pop up.  I found that apparently I needed to set up a 2-step verification process via my Google account.  I did.  I then added the YouTube app to the "Application-specific passwords" section.  When I attempt to log into the app, it tells me I need to log in with my Google account password - not the password I was just given.
    The thing is, I can log in via the mobile site on my iPhone - minus the pesky authentication error!  So what's the problem here?  What am I missing?
    HELP!

    I've been having the same issue.
    The 2-step verification and app specific password worked for the (non-native) Youtube App on my iPhone 5.  But it did not work for the native Youtube app on the iPad.
    Very frustrating that I cannot access my subscriptions on the iPad, as that's where I view Youtube the most :S

  • Back up Authentication Error

    VNI Authentication error message appears when submitting a Backup Job in the OEM

    Ok - cracked it.
    Changing user's permission on the hard drive of the computer didn't help.
    So I looked at user rights on the back up drive (is that what you meant anyway?) and there were none shown - so I changed them to full rights and back up went ok.
    So ..... if you meant to check user rights on the back up drive, and I have now changed user rights for all users on the computer hard drive (drive C) then have I created problems for myself (there seemed to be a lot of scary warnings about reducing security etc).
    In practice this is a home computer only used by me and my wife (unless a technician has to repair it etc and they no doubt have the knowledge to do naughty things if they want) so unless the user right changes cause operational problems there won't be any security etc issues (will there??)

  • Marketplace Google Account Sudden Authentication Error

    I've looked for an answer to this and can't seem to find one.  On wife's Droid X I attempted yesterday to go to the marketplace.  A sign-in window appears asking for a password.  I enter the password and another widow pops up requesting the goofy set of figures be entered.  Authentication error message keeps appearing.  Others have reported this problem but there's no solution posted that I can see.  Anyone?

    This usually happens when someone has attempted to log into the account to many times and the the account temporarily disable log on and ask for authentication to verify ot was your account and the correct user to access the account, its just a security feature to verify the device that you are using to access the account...
    After you complete the form you are able to access account correctly right?

  • Facebook authentication error

  • Authentication error when trying to connect to home WiFi

    My Galaxy 3 won't connect to my home wireless. I've entered the correct SSID and authentication method, I've removed the connection and re-established it, I've rebooted the phone, etc. I do not have this problem accessing WiFi anywhere else. If it matters, the home service is Comcast--and it's the exact same modem & general service as my daughter has, and I have no problems accessing her WiFi.
    This question or similar has been asked before, but it looks like no one has been able to answer it so far. I'm hoping that a new discussion might find someone out there who has figured this problem out and fixed it.
    Thanks,
    Suzanne

    I am having the same exact problem.  Up until a week ago my Galaxy3 phone automatically connected to my home network whenever I was in my house.  All of a sudden, my phone powered off and when it came back up I no longer can connect to my home network.  It will work with any other network outside of my house.  I tried all the same things that you did including powering off my modem etc.  My home computer and tablet are all fine.  My husbands Droid X phone still works.   Everything can connect to my home modem except my Samsung Galaxy3 phone.
    I don't know what happened buy every time the phone tries to connect to my home modem, it gets an authentication error message.  When I look at the settings, it looks like the IP address is missing.  The phone won't let me "forget" or remove the address.  I have tried countless times.  I also can't add the IP address manually...there is no way to do this.  I would appreciate Anyone helping.  It's very frustrating.  Did you ever get an answer?
    LMK..thanks

  • Error Message For BISystemUser: User not authenticated

    We have migrated from DEV to PROD env.(11.1.1.1 -> 11.1.1.3). Along problems with bipublisher - there are some strange thingths: we successfully loging using weblogic account into AdminConsole и Enterprise Manager, but in Answers we get an error: invalid username or password.
    nqserver.log:
    ...[ERROR:1] [] [] ... [tid: 1090] Error Message For BISystemUser: User not authenticated.
    ...[ERROR:1] [] [] ... [tid: 1090] [nQSError: 43126] Authentication failed: invalid user/password.
    In oracle support we found such issue (Doc ID 1308389.1):
    OBIEE 11g Error: "Unable to Sign in. invalid username or password was entered" After Changing Repository, Deleting BISystem User, Adding it Back (Doc ID 1308389.1)
    Applies to: Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version: 11.1.1.3.0 [1905] to 11.1.1.5.0 [1308] - Release: 11g to 11g
    Symptoms: In OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0 using default authenticator, it is not possible to log in to OBIEE after changing repository. To troubleshoot, BIsystemuser was removed from global roles and added back again.
    Getting error: Unable to Sign in. invalid username or password was entered
    Changes: Changed repository, deleted BISystemuser, added the user back
    Cause: Several changes e.g changing rpd, deleting bisystem user, adding the user back etc. occurred in the environment and caused log in to OBIEE to stop working
    Solution: After a lot of troubleshooting e.g re-starting system in the correct order, refreshing GUIDs, re-start OBIEE with default SampleAppLite.rpd and web catalog, the error persists. The system was uninstalled and re-installed to avoid further corruption and configuration problems in the new installation. This resolved the problem
    Does we have to 'reinstall or make a lot of troubleshooting e.g re-starting system ' to solve this error?
    It seem to be funny for PROD environment. How we cam resolve this problem?

    Are you saying you upgraded both dev and prod from 11.1.1.1 to 11.1.1.3 or that you migrated a dev 11.1.1.1 to a prod 11.1.1.3? What did you migrate?
    At a rough guess the BISystemUser password is different in dev and prod (created by system on install) and in your 'migration' you've moved the dev credential across to prod.
    If that's the case you need to change the bisystemuser password to something known and update the credential store password.
    Another possibility might just be that you need to regenerate the GUIDs:
