Authentication password disabled

On both iPad and iPhone authentication password disabled each time I try to configure email settings.
Mail is sent to Outbox because server rejects it.

If you mean the password to unlock you iPad, you can disable this in Settings>General>Passcode Lock>Turn Passcode Off.

  • Resetting authentication password

My authentication password does not work for some reason. So I searched on here and found directions to put in the installation disk, hold down "c" and restart the computer. Then select "reset password" from the installer menu. Well the "reset password" was grayed out. That didn't work. Then I read somewhere to disable the open firmware before doing all of the above. I have no idea how to disable the open firmware, where it even is, or what it even is.
    Please help!

*Well the "reset password" was grayed out.*
Features of Open Firmware Password Protection
Blocks the ability to use the "C" key to start up from an optical disc.
Since I understand that you were able to boot from the install cd/dvd, it would seem that you do not have a firmware password. There must be some other problem.
Here are some other ways of changing the password.
Changing password from single user mode:
You can also change the administrator's password from single user mode. These steps are more complicated.
You need to get into single use mode for steps one and two.
This page will tell you how to get into single user mode.
    http://www.securemac.com/macosxsingleuser.php
Basically, you hold down the command-s key when powering on. The command key has a little apple symbol on the lower left. It is between the alt/option key and the space bar. On a PC keyboard, it will be the windows key, I think.
    1) Get the Mac to set up a new administrative account. You can then change the password on your old account.

OK, restart your computer, hold down Command-s and type in the following:
    /sbin/fsck -y [Enter]
    /sbin/mount -uaw [Enter]
    rm /var/db/.applesetupdone [Enter]
    reboot [Enter]
Once you've done that the computer reboots and ask you to set up an admin password. From there you just change all other account passwords in the account preferences!!

You will need to scoll down to see this post. Search for applesetupdone
Once you have a new administrative account, you can change the password of your old administrative account
blue apple > System Preferences > Accounts
    2) You can change the password on an account. ( Do you know Unix. You are in a Unix single user console. )
To find out the users on the system type:
    ls /Users
Pick one of the users and type passwd a-user-name and enter the new user password. You need six characters. One of these account will be the administrator.
The root account isn't enabled by default. I am not sure if changing the password on root will enable it.
How to crack Mac OS X password
I recommend changing your password, but with a lot of computer work you can find out your current password.

  • Windows NT Authentication type Disabled

    Hi,
Windows NT Authentication type Disabled after Insatall SAP Integration kit
    Best Regards,
    Reddeppa K

NT auth is not an option on a java app server it is only an available dropdown in client tools and IIS (.net) deployments. This means in 3.x it will never be available for the CMC and only available for infoview deployed on IIS. On top of that it should not be used with any of our supported versions of AD The plugin is deprecated and will be removed from the next version of our product. Use the AD plugin it can connect to anything the NT one can and much more.
    Regards,
    Tim

  • Authenticating password

I was recently given a previously used G4 from a family member that cant remember the authentication password and is having a hard time finding the original install disk. I have the new 10.5 cd and still need a password to download it. Until then I can't use my printer etc...Can you help?

I'm thinking that if the 10.5 Installer DVD doesn't work for you to reset the administrator password, you'll probably have to get ahold of a 10.3 installer DVD in order to reset it. Short of that, you may have to take it into an Apple Store or someplace that works on Macs and have them do it for you.
Did you try this procedure, taken from (10.4.x's) Finder Help using "reset admin password" as search terms, using the 10.5 installer DVD?
If you don't remember the password and automatic login is turned off, you can reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X User Install disc. To reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X disc:
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc and restart the computer.
    2. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the "C" key until you see the spinning gear.
    3. When the Installer appears, choose Utilities > Reset Password.
    4. Follow the onscreen instructions to change the password.
    5. Quit the Installer and restart your computer while holding down the mouse button to eject the disc.
BTW, is the G4 clock speed greater than 800 MHz? I'm just asking because I thought I heard that Leopard won't run on 800-MHz and slower machines.
PS - this probably wasn't the most appropriate forum for you to post in; so if what I say here doesn't work out for you and nobody else here posts a workable solution for you, try posting your question in this other forum instead.

  • HT5622 password disabled?

Even tho I just reset my password I still get a message that it has been disabled.  How do I get past this?

Be more specific.  What password, to what device/service/system/etc?
Is it your password to your Apple ID?
How to reset your Apple ID password.
Go to iforgot.apple.com and type in your Apple ID, then click 'Next'.
Verify your date of birth, then click 'Next'.
You'll be able to choose one of two methods to reset your password, either E-Mail Authentication or Answer Security Questions.
Try it one more time (sometimes it takes a second attempt).  If still unsuccessful, you'll have to contact Apple Support.
    Go to https://expresslane.apple.com
    Choose 'iTunes', then 'iTunes Store'.
    A new page will open.
Choose 'Purchases, Billing & Redemption', then the most appropriate sub-category, usually 'Apple ID account billing'.
This is actually an 'indirect' way to get in touch with a live person, usually via chat.

  • 802.1x Machine Based Authentication - Password expired

    Hi,
I would like to ask 1 question about machine based authentication on 802.1x.
1.We are deploying 802.1x on wired user.
2.Some user are using machine based authentication in order to authenticate their port.
3.However, after the user password expired, the user need to change their password and then the machine are unable to authenticate. The error i got is "External DB user invalid or bad password". Then switch assign the user to Guest Vlan
4.But, once i plug out the cable and plug in back the UTP cable after the user login, the switch will assigned the user to proper VLAN.
5.User wont be able to access their share drive n etc since the guest vlan only have access to the internet.
5.Anyone have any idea what is happening? It seems that the machine is sending the old password during authentication process to the ACS.
Anybody can shed a light to me. Thanks.

This should certainly work with that rev. On your passed (or failed) auth log, you should see the username of the session authenticating. If you see the FQDN of the machine, this is a machine auth. Also, machine-auth typically executes before the GINA is displayed to the user. It sounds like machine-auth is failing and we need to determine why. Has this machine been away from the domain for long?
    This also might help:

  • PDF calling webservice - handling an incorrect authentication password

    Hi All,
I have a PDF, connected to a webservice.
Connecting to this webservice requires authentication (username & password).
In the event that the user enters an incorrect password, how do I handle this on the PDF form?
I noticed in LC server logs, it logs that an incorrect password was attempted on a WSDL, however I dont seem to be getting anything back.
I have put a try catch around the connection in the PDF, but I recieve nothing.
Surely, I am missing something here about handling Webservice responses when calling from a PDF.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Gerben,
Thanks for hint. I created a new credential for SOAP. But there is a new issue. While calling the webservice, parameters are not passed properly. Service provider considers those values as null and returns an exception. Am I missing any other setting here?
I have checked Admin guide already. But not much of help.
    Thanks

  • Where are the authentication passwords stored in Firefox?

I created a web site which was set up with a password and I have forgotten it.
When using the URL it requires authentication the field has dots so password must be stored somewhere in Firefox but where?
    Peter

It is quite possible that this website displays those dots (bullets) as some default place holder if they appear in the password field.
Does Firefox fill a user name as well?
You can inspect and manage the saved passwords here:
*Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"

  • Safari 2.x vs FireFox v2.x and authentication (passwords sent as clear text

    Hi All,
first time poster here. I have been asked by a colleague if Safari 2.x under OS X 10.4.x behaves in the exact same manner as FireFox 2.x - specifically with regard to authentication challenges and sending text in the clear. In safari, He has stated that when accessing a specific proxy site with auth the dialog box say that the password will be sent in the clear.
Advice, correction, suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

  • Oracle 8i : Internal Password Disabling-Advice

We are having a severe problem at at client's site as everybody there is breaking into the Oracle8i database as internal with internal password.Inspite of trying manytimes, we were not able to find a solution. Is there a way to disable the internal provision as a whole?Kindly advise

Also, internal is just an alias for the sys as sydba user. They removed INTERNAL because of redundancy with sys as sysdba not because of lack of security.
You could also delete the old encrypted passwordfile and recreate it with the ORAPWD utility. You can create it with a new INTERNAL password.
    Hope that helps!
    ROb
    Hi,
Internal can't be disabled. Solution: upgrade to 9i: no more INTERNAL there, for obvious reasons....
Internal can be given a password to make it harder to use. Security acts different on NT than on UNIX. Lots of information on this is on metalink.oracle.com, search on keywords 'orapwd password internal'. You're not the first struggling with this.
