Authentication to iTunes U failed

We are trying to implement a workflow to post to iTunes U, which we have had but not used for nearly a year. Podcast Producer has been setup with the relevant iTunes U info, which does work in Woolamaloo and with our authentication script. I have double and tripple checked the Settings>Properties tab of Podcast Producer (willing to do it again) Non-iTunes workflows finish properly. Any insight and or criticicm would be awesome.
Using the vanilla "iTunes U" workflow for 10.5.7 server here are the relevant errors (at least they look relevant):
$ xgrid -h podcast.state-college.edu -auth Kerberos -job results -id 22

  • Secure link to itunes store failed computer not connected to internet tried ununininstalling everything to do with itunes no joy also error code coming up E0000225 anybody out there got any ideas

Secure link to itunes store failed, (computer not connected to internet tried uninstalling everything to do with itunes,no joy also errror code E0000225 appearing. Have turned off windows firewall and also my Bullguarg security settings. Can anybody out there please help me thanks.

    Hi,
You could be right that the response to clicking on help is a symptom of an entirely separate issue, but nevertheless the secure link to itunes is definitely failed, and I am unable to log into Itunes on either PC.
I also noticed that even if I click on the link to create a whole new Apple ID, I cannot do that either, presumably because the secure link is not working.
After I noticed that there were weird things happening this morning, I did change my Apple ID password in the hope that this might resolve it, but it seemed to make it worse.  Now, all of my apple devices keep constantly prompting me for the apple ID password, and randomly either accepting it, or telling me it is wrong.  I know the password is correct because I can log onto the apple Manage My Apple ID screens in a web browser with it.
I was starting to think that this is an ISP issue (BT Broadband), but I have not seen anyone else posting with the same issue.  Does Apple use a different security protocol to everyone else?  I'm asking because all other secure services seem to be working fine, but anything related to apple that requires a secure connection or authentication is having issues.
I have also seen reference to making sure that Itunes is listed as an allowed program in Windows Firewall.  I cannot seem to do this because it says that my Windows firewall is being managed by McCafee.  I have checked the settings in McCafee, and it appears to me that Itunes, Bonjour, and many other apple programs have been granted "Full" access.  As said before in any case I have tried temporarily disabling the firewall and even this did not solve the problem.

  • ITunes Launch Failed When trying to authorize Disney Digital Copy

I recently bought two older Disney Movies Tangled and Up that used the old disc based method for authorizing a digital copy.  On both movies, after selecting the itunes option, i recieve the error below:
    iTunes Launch Failed.
Your iTunes software is either out
of date, not currently installed in your computer, or does not meet the minimum
    system requirements. Click
here to download the latest version of iTunes. If you experience problems
with the iTunes software, please contact Apple support at http://www.apple.com/support/itunes.
This seems to be related to the new iTunes version 12.1.1 since this disc based authentication worked on ver 11 and 10 for me on the same computer.  I have tried on multiple machines all running the 12.1.1 version with the same results (dont have any with the old version )
The are all running windows 7 64 bit.  I attempted to redeem using the option in itunes directly and digitalcopyplus but it states i must authenticate with the disc.

I tried extracting the DVD contents and editing the xml to remove the version number but to no avail.  I am in the right place to get an answer for this issue?

  • ITunes Match fails to match recently ripped CD. Can I avoid matching this CD?

I have a CD from a band that is not available on iTunes that I've loaded to my MacBook Pro. As expected iTunes Match can't match this album. As a result, iTunes Match fails to proceed past the third step of the matching process and continously loops. How can I stop this album from being part of the match process?

    Hi,
What format have you ripped the CD? There are problems with some ALAC and AIFF files.
If the cd is in your iTunes library, there is no way of stopping match process. Once cd has been uploaded there is a workaround to make remove the tracks from the cloud and not your library.
However, to resolve your current problem you may need to delete the tracks.

  • ITunes silently fails to launch in just my user account

I'm running Windows XP SP3 32-bit with an administrator level account, installing iTunes for the first time ever on any of my systems in order to use it with my new iPod touch 5th gen, only to find that after install it won't launch.
Went through the Apple support instructions for a launch failure and discovered that if I created a brand new administrator level account, then ran iTunes in it, it would launch normally and go through it's new install setup, and nothing seemed to be wrong with it. So there's something about my primary user account that causes iTunes to not work at all.
When I try running iTunes, iTunes.exe will show in the Task Manager for a second or so, then vanish with no error at all. Running Process Monitor and filtering only for the iTunes process shows that it doesn't even establish a running process or any threads. There's a bunch of registry and file system access and nothing else before iTunes.exe terminates.
This has got me stumped, and all my searches haven't turned up any help on this, so I've come here. Is there any light any of you could shed on why iTunes is failing for me?

As far as I know, when you sign OUT of your Cloud account nobody will be able to use that account again until the user signs back IN
Of course... any user who does not sign out and then turns the computer off will be (I think) the "user of record" when the computer is started again

I think its weird that I experienced both the 3194 error code and "secure link to the itunes store failed" diagnostics error on three computers running on different OS (XP, vista and 7), itunes version and connectivity types (wireless and cabled). Could it be possible that there is a problem on Apple's server?
    Are you still there, shintenhouji?
    Perhaps try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(I've seen a few cases in recent times of this sort of thing being associated with LSP issues.)

  • Itunes update failed on 2 computers, couldn't find msvcr80.dll files. Now have no itunes at all

iTunes update failed on both computers. Couldn't find msvcr80.dll, now I have no iTunes at all. Is it iTunes or the computers?

should be no problem. i'm doing this also.
Everything was working fine on both computers - Consolidated the library on the external drive and did the Change the location of the iTunes Media folder in Preferences on both computers, no problem.
However I added two movies and a few songs to my desktop Mac yesterday - all showed up and played fine after adding them - but when I plug the external drive into my laptop, the new additions don't appear in the library.
if you're purchasing content from the iTMS, you could use _*Home Sharing*_ to automatically add new content to all machines on your local network.
Am I right in guessing that it is because the iTunes Library file on the laptop isn't the same as the one on the desktop computer?
    yes.
Is there a way to add them to the library listing on the laptop? If yes, is that something I need to do every time I connect the external drive to the laptop if I've added things from the desktop computer (I never add stuff on the laptop).
basically, yes. however, there's _*Home Sharing*_ and ... see below.
Should I have put the entire iTunes folder - files, folder and media - onto the external drive?
that's one possibility, however, only one Mac @ a time could access that library. there are other options:

  • Secure link to iTunes Store failed: HELP!

I'm new to iTunes and purchased my first iPod yesterday night. The first time I plugged in my iPod to sync it, I wasn't able to. At first I had version 10 then it updated. On the previous version I was able to access the iTunes store but wasn't able to sync my iPod. I had downloaded the most recent version of iTunes (10.1) and then this problem occured.
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The network connection timed out. Please make sure that the network settings are correct and that your netowrk is connected, then try again."
I've read several different manuals and emailed Apple about it. I've tried a lot of different things to fix it.
    +-change firewall settings+
    +-redownloaded iTunes+
    +-contacted Apple Tech Support+
    +-changed proxy settings+
    +-changed permissions+
    +-disabled firewall+
    +-restarting iTunes+
    +-restarting router+
And several others. Nothing seems to work. I ran a diagnostic review and this is what came up.
    *Network interfaces verified*
    *Internet connection verified*
*Secure link to iTunes Store failed*
I'm not sure how to fix it now. These are what I copied from the diagnostic review.

What do I do? Any information and suggestions would be very helpful.

i found a solution that worked in my case..i found it in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2284692?start=0&tstart=0 in texlark's post..i copied and pasted it here:
The Fix (& It's NOT Your Firewall)
    A. Symptoms
When you try to connect to the iTunes Store you may receive the alert message "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occured (-9808). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
    B. Resolution
Check your computer's date, time, and time zone. Set the correct date, time, and time zone if needed. If your computer's date, time, and time zone are all correct and you still see this alert message, this issue can be resolved by modifying certain settings in the Internet Options control panel:
    1) Go to the Start menu and choose Control Panel.
    2) Select Internet Options.
Note: If you are using Windows Vista you may need to select Classic View on the left before you can see Internet Options.
Note: If you are using WIndows 7 you may need to change "View by" to either Large icons or Small icons before you can see Internet Options.
    3) Click the Advanced tab.
    4) In the Settings box, scroll down to the Security section.
    5) Deselect the option to "Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart)."
    6) Select the options for "SSL 3.0" and "TLS 1.0."
    7) Apply the changes and restart your computer.

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

    Hi msahed,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there is an issue with your PC establishing a secure connection to the iTunes Store and the firmware update server. Try following along with the articles below, as they should resolve the issues that you described.
iTunes: About the "A secure network connection could not be established" alert
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1470
iTunes for Windows: iTunes can't contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1814
    I hope this helps.

  • Secure link to iTunes Store Failed using XPSP3

I cannot log into the iTunes store. When I run diagnostics it indicates Secure  Link to iTunes Store Failed. It does not appear to be my related to McAfee security software as the issue remains when the file wall is disabled. I have following the trouble shooting steps from the website and have also tried disabling all start up programs except qttask and iTunes Helper.
Any other suggestions on how to restore the secure link and enable connection?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store

  • Secure link to iTunes Store failed ... cannot update iphone 3gs?

So i havent been able to update my iphone, I get a 3194 error after loading the ipsw file.
When i run a diagnostic i get a Secure link to iTunes Store failed error, which i think causes the problem
I have tried the netsh winsock reset fix, and still no results, as well as looking for LSP conflict.
Any help on this matter would be appreciated very much!
