Authentification error

Hi,
Suddenly, both my macs report an authentification error when joining any wifi network although no passwords have changed and the correct passwords have been entered. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks.

Thanks again iFelix but didn't work. I type correct passwords but I get an error message saying it's not the right password. The airport recog the networks (home, office, cybercafe...) but no way to join these networks!

Sims3 DVD authentification error after installing PSE 6

I have a strange problem with my MacBook Pro 15". I bought Sims3 and played it some weeks, then I bought PSE 6 for my photo editing needs. Now, the first time I wanted to start Sims 3 after installing PSE 6, the Sims 3 game starts, but when launching the city where to chose from my families, the error message occurs: "Disc-Authentification failed. Check of the Sims 3 Disc has failed, it could not be checked whether the disk is a valid disk."
Before asking the EA support, I checked updates (none), repaired access rights, checked my disc and reinstalled Sims3.
The EA Support hotline asked me to do a firmware update for my superdrive, but i don't find an available download.
Can someone help me?

Put the first disk in again, and set it to just install the DVD SP content, livetype, and motion content disks... if it fails, call Apple, as you might have a bad disk there.
But the applications themselves are already installed. What you're missing is the templates on those disks onlly.
Seems to me you can also just put the other disks in and install them one at a time.
Also, if this is an upgrade from a previous installation (FCP 5 or whatever) you really should do it as a clean install... all you need to have is your previous serial number.

Portal WebService User Authentification error

Hello all,
I created a portal webservice similar to the one described in tutorial "Creating a Web Service in Enterprise Portal 6.0".
When I tried to test it in Enterprise Portal Web Services Checker I got the error below:
The User Authentification is not correct to access to the Portal Service com.sap.portal.prt.soap.ContentService or the service was not found.
I already added group Everyone to my service in Portal Permissions and it still does not work.
I read weblogs below but none helped me:
1 - Unable to access portal service from web service..........urgent
2 - IllegalAccessError when calling a WebService
I checked the proxy settings and it seems to be ok.
Does anyone have another suggestion?

I found the reason.
I did not check End User checkbox for the Everyone group we inserted into Permissions of the Web Service.

HTTP Authentification Error after upgrading CRM 4.0 to Oracle 10g

Hi all,
after upgrading our CRM 4.0 Server from Oracle 9i to 10g, it isn't possible to connect from a local PC via EP 7 to the PCUI applications.
[Browser running on local PC] -> [EP7] -> [CRM4 with Oracle 10g]
no authentification possible
[Browser running on local PC] -> [EP7] -> [CRM4 with Oracle 9i]
works fine.
[Browser running on local PC] -> [CRM4 with Oracle 10g]
works fine.
[Browser running on EP7 server(!)] -> [EP7] -> [CRM4 with Oracle 10g]
works fine.
It looks like a network security feature of Oracle 10g which blocks "man-in-the-middle" attacks?!?
Anyone any idea?!

SSL authentification error -5938

Hi All,
can someone help me with this problem?
We are receiving this error more then two years at various instances of Netscape/iPlanet/SunOne Enterprise WWW server.
We tried find the explanation in documentation, in the Internet newsgroups but no luck ...
Exact error log:
... for host x.x.x.x trying GET /xxx, Client-Auth reports: Unexpected error receiving data: -5938
... get_auth_user_ssl: client passed no certificate.
Can someone explain this problem ?

Based on the events which you provided, it seems that the two events were related to certificate. If you have installed a certificate on the RADIUS server, a possible cause is that the certificate has something wrong. So please check the configuration of
certificate in your RADIUS server and client.
And for a better analysis about this issue, please provide more details about the configuration in your environment. Such as, what are you deploying with RADIUS, the operating system of your RADIUS server
and RADIUS client, the network policy and other configurations in the NPS, the configuration of the client etc.

I have tested the same service with Microsoft WcfTestClient and everything works..

Iphone 4S authentication error on Nike Matrix Treadmill

My gym just recently added new Matrix Nike + Treadmills. My iphone 4S will not work with it. According to the gym, I am the only one who is having this problem! It recognizes the phone, but then says there is an authentification error and will not work! The Nike App and all my music will not work!! Any ideas how to fix this?

Alright, I'll take a mea culpa on this. I just recalled the one thing I didn't try which was establishing an application-specific password for the phone:

Connection error with Crystal Report XI, VB6 and Sybase ASE15

Hello !
I have an error #4002 when I want to launch a report in VB6 with the ActiveX Crystal Report Viewer.
I use Sybase ASE 15 with an ODBC link and the reports run stored procedures.
This error seems to be an authentification error, but I don't know what parameters are missing or wrong...
- My reports works well in the report designer.
- The reports connected to a text file or an ADO recordset work in VB6.
- The Verify Database works in design mode in VB6.
- The problem is the same with tables, stored procedures, SQL and with or without parameters...
- I tried to connect the report to a DataEnvironnment but I get the same error.
The problem appears when I use the Crystal Wizard to create a form automatically AND when I create objects directly in code like :

I don't see any database logon code in what you posted. You need to log onto the database at runtime since Crystal Reports will never store passwords.
You can download and review the [Connection Properties|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00635998-751e-2b10-9cba-f50ee1e4ef81] document for more information on how to log onto your database at runtime. This document was written for CR9, but it's the same for CR10, CR XI (v11.0), and CR XI R2 (v11.5).

Problem with Connection on Terminal Services

CR XI Pro VS 2005
I've got several reports in a .net application.
Connection data is initialised the usual way with a ConnectionInfo object.
On the client workstation a CRRedist2005_x86.msi is installed.
Everything is working fine.
But when I try to open a report while the application is running under Citrix nothing is happening for a long time - then a message box appears with textboxes for server, database, user and pwd. The first three are the correct entries from the conn-object, the pwd is empty.
When I try to enter the password, a MsgBox says: 'Authentification Error. Try again.'
I hope someone can help me out.

I did install the SQLNativeClient on the server but nothing really changed. Afterwards I did deinstall the Redist-Utility AND my application and installed both of them new.
And now it works.
I really wonder why and what has been wrong before.

Can't login to Directory Service Control Center 6

After installition of Sun JES 5 Directory Server (OS Solaris SPARC 9) i'm trying to login to DSCC.
I provide username admin and a password for admin.
But after clicking the LogIn Button I see a message Authentification error.
IWhen I explore a Directory server through LADP browser (as cn=Directory manager) I can't see the cn=Administrators,cn=config subtree at all (and cn=config subtree is missing, too).
This subtee is present in the <instance-path>/config/dse.ldif file, however.
Is it normal? Or should I create this subtree manually?

I've tried recreating registry several times.
But when I'm trying to login (after restarting directory server), the problem persists ;(
I still can't login. But when I observe DS logs (Directory_Server.instance-path/logs)

My flash player has problems

My flash player is not working. I try uninstalling and then reinstalling, but lately whenever I try to reinstall I keep getting an authentification error. My computer doesn't recoginize Adobe as a publisher for some reason. The strange thing is, I was able to reinstall it using my Opera browser, and my flash is working on Opera MOST of the time, but it is pretty inconsistent. A lot of times it will not work. I've tried adjusting security settings, but this has not worked. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm using Windows 7 64 bit.
It will often not work on any of my browsers. Currently, I able to use Internet explorer version of flash (though this has also been inconsistent and I often have problems with it as well) but not on any of my other browsers. A few weeks ago it only seemed to be working on my Opera browswer. I've tried Firefox as well, but right now that is not working either.
When I am able to install it sucessfully, it will usually just not load pages that require flash, or whatever video I am trying to watch will not load. Sometimes I will be able to install successfully, yet pages will continue to prompt to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
However, my primary problem is that, more often than not, when I try to fix this problem by uninstalling and the reinstalling Adobe Flash, when I try to reinstall, I will get a certificate authetication error, and Flash will not install.

EP Authentication through WebService

Hi all,
I need to implement a login module in a .NET standalone application that gets the user profile in EP 6.0 SP2. Next the app will send some SOAP messages to SAP XI.
I want to validate the user and password from a .NET login screen and validate the user & password in the Portal.
I have read something about UMWebService but it doesn't include any login method.
Another question is how to authenticate in the UMWebService if it's set HIGH_LEVEL security zone. I am able to execute it with Everyone access permitted, but if I avoid Everyone access to the security zone how can I pass the user & password to the WebService from .NET app. If this is possible with something like "Credentials" object, I can execute some dummy method in the standard WebService and if I get response I assume that the user is authenticate because it has been able to execute the webservice. If not, and exception "Authentification error while executin UMWebService".
Any solution for this problem?

why explicitely verifying user and password? What about doing it implicitely by having some "ping" like portal web service which requires authentication and using that web service then? If you add valid credentials to the web service request, authentication to the portal should succeed and you should receive a response that contains some expected "ping" data.
No need to alter security zones then

ERP2005 MSS reporting in a federated portal network

Hello,
We are implementing ERP2005 MSS on a federated portal network, and were facing a problem with the MSS reporting IView (application mss~rpt).
When we execute this function on the producer portal (the portal connected to the ECC backend, with the BPs and Webdynpros), the IView launches well, a report can be selected and finally in the second step, the button Report Results opens up a new portal window. The URL of this window contains a navigation target which points to an IView of the standard ERP2005 Business Package:

This IView will then launch a session which starts Internet service HRWPC_FC_EXEC on the integrated ITS. Directly on the producer everything works fine and the report is displayed in an ITS session perfectly. Works as designed so far
However, when we execute this on the consumer portal (with remote role assignment) a popup window opens when clicking the button Report Results, and nothing happens no report.
The cause of this is that the external popup window links to the consumer portal, and NOT the producer portal. Since the business package is not deployed on the consumer portal, the navigation target cannot be found and no content is displayed.
Now, the quick and dirty solution would be to deploy the BP on the consumer portal, but this is of course not in the strategy of federated portal. Displaying the report in the same window should also do the trick, but I didnt find any option to do this.
Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this without having to deploy the BP on the consumer portal?

Here are some tips.
Firstly, make sure you use NWA to read the exact error in Default Trace. If you are experiencing the 'User Authentification' error or needing to add the Super Admin role to J2EE_GUEST, then it is highly likely that you have an SSO problem between your consumer and producer. Try a simple test...Log on to the consumer and then type or copy in the url of your producer. Are you getting the logon page? If so then SSO is definately not working. You can try vice versa as well but for simple fed scenarios, producer to consumer is not required.
You should not have to modify settings in Visual Admin. You can do it directly in NWA Trusted Systems. Client is referring to the client number of your JAVA engine...Don't worry about any BASIS administrators who insist JAVA has no clients! The default client is 000 but this may have ben changed - its a ConfigTool setting in UME. You can see it in NWA Trusted Systems. It tells you the client number of the portal you are logged into. You must ensure that when you load up this portal's certificate, the client field must be as it is set here.
