Author Flag and IPC

Hello All,
Our project involves usage of IPC along with IS- A-VMS . My understanding is that for a configurable material with characteristics, each Characteristics will have a Author Flag attached to it. The author flag is set by IPC and passed back to SAP.
Can some one explain what is meant by an author flag and how does the IPC influence this Auhtor Flag? Please reply back at the earliest to my yahoo is [email protected]

a specific photo can only exist in one event
If you duplicated the photos in the source event then flagged the new one (actually either one) you could do taht - you would, of course double the storage used for those photos winch there are now two of each - and any edits, =delete, etc would only operate on the one you did it to leaving the other copy alone (maybe what you intend?)

MUP always fails to run with spurious folder access and IPC issue.

Dear Mobile Heroes,
Every time I run a MUP on our Mobile Sales Application, the MUP fails
during the first folder copy (MSA\Layout). The log gives an incorrect
description of the error saying that the layout folder cannot be
accessed. The actual issue, and manual fix, is to go to
C:\program files\sap\mobile\tpsfiles and in properties uncheck
the "read-only" flag and cascade the change to all subordinate files. I
also need to kill the "IPC Start" process. After doing this, I can run
the MUP successfully.
What is the SAP fix for this? Is there a new
ClientUpgradeTarget.exe to prevent all this nonsense?

We are running Mobile Client 70SP4, the ClientUpgradeTarget.exe has a date of 16/07/2009 (size 436kb).

A bug with flags and active view? Or is it a (bad) feature?..

As I mark an image in a folder view as flagged and then switch to a collection view and look on the same image, it's not flagged.
I expect, that information about marking the image as flagged remains on that image, not on a current active view.

It's as designed - Flags are local to a Folder/Collection.

Flags and colors not taking (seems like a bug to me)

I'm seeing a bit of an issue I am not sure I understand.
I have a folder called
"creative" with four albums in it:

3
4
If I select all the images in the folder and TAG them and add a ORANGE COLOR these tags and colors show up on all the images in the Folder.
However, /some/ of the images in some of the folders have images that are showing up without the Orange Color and in some case there are images without the Flag or the Orange Color.
This is so confusing it seems like a bug to me.
What am I missing?

Hi. The first image is where I selected all the images and FLAGGED AND COLORED THEM.
The next two images show SUB-Albums in this folder where there are images that are either not flagged or not colored...

My computer keeps defaulting from a GB format to US format keyboard with a US flag in the top bar. How do I get it to go back to a GB flag and stay with a GB flag?

I have seen much on line as this seems to be a common problem, however none of the suggestions posted seem to work.

On clicking the US flag I had previously then unchecked the US box. It has rechecked itself, and I have unchecked it again. The GB English remains checked.
The flag icon has now gone completely from the top bar (just replaced with character and keyboard viewer) -but that's fine. That's different to previous attempts to fix the issue.
Hopefully now I will remain able to type a £ sign on the keyboard rather than get the criss-cross symbol. It may well default back in about an hour (which is what has been happening since this started 2 days ago). If it does I'll come back on here. Many thanks in the mean time for your help.

It goes like this.
Whenever i connect my iPhone5, it starts to sync. later when it reaches the 4th stage of 'Tranferring Purchases' it stops and says me to Authorize my computer.
But i had already authorized it and even signed my apple id.
Moreover, i have only authorized 1 out of my 5 computers.
Please help me.

Can't open the document again in FM Author 12 "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel".

I have never used Forms, so I'm not exactly know what you mean.
But APEX application definition have version attribute that you can use.

Environment open flags and multithreading

Do I actually need to create an environment explicitly if I want to read only from a database in a multithreaded program (no other process, no write operations)? I don't need to use DB_INIT_LOCK as there is no thread writing to the database. And I don't need to use DB_INIT_MPOOL as there is no other process using the very same database. As the database is read-only the open flags DB_INIT_LOG, DB_INIT_TXN and DB_RECOVER don't provide any benefit either. Is this all correct? I don't need to use DB_THREAD either (which I found in the documentation of DbEnv)?

I still have to debug the code to find out if I am doing anything wrong. But are there any known issues that it makes sense if I try to use some flags and maybe create the environment explicitly? Currently I only use DB_RDONLY to open the container.

PS: I just saw that the API reference contains a flag DB_THREAD. If I open the container with DB_THREAD though I get another error message:

I'm a bit confused now: Either DB_THREAD is not required for thread-safe access or an environment must be created explicitly in order to use DB_THREAD?

Non authorized applications and Itunes sync.

I have an new Ipad2. Most of the apps are bought by me (I mean with my App Store ID), but I have some installed app which are bought by my girlfriend (with her Apple Store ID) , and which she uses from time to time.
I connected the Ipad to my PC's Itunes, and transferred my purchases to the Itunes Library.
My Itunes is authorized with my Apple Store ID (*not* with my girlfriend's). When I try to synchronize my PC with my Ipad, Itunes says that the non authorized apps will be erased. I don't want to authorize my girlfriend's App Store ID on my PC (I don't even have the password, and I don't want to know it).
Is there a way to make Itunes synchronize my (authorized) apps and leave my girlfriend's alone, without wiping them everytime I try to synchronize?

You need to do that from the device itself, either physically or through Virtual Network Computing.

System flags are defined by the IMAP spec and every server has to support them.
User flags are defined by the application. Different IMAP servers may have different
limitations on user flags.

Possible bug with Pick flag and Collections

Odd behaviours in v3.3 (Windows) with pick flags in Collections:
Create (or use) a Collection Set which contains a number of different collections
Assign Pick plag to one photo in each collection
Bug 1: Highlight Collection Set and note that none of the images shows the Pick Flag in the thumbnail view. Also Filtering this view with Pick flag fails to pick up the Flagged images
Now return to one of the Collections within the Set and create a Virtual Copy of one of the images that has a Pick flag. (Note virtual copy does not have a flag - which seems logical). Return to Collection Set and (Bug 2) note that Pick flag has disappeared from original image and now appears on Virtual copy.
Something wrong here somewhere I suspect.

I could partially repeat bug 2.
I have Collection Set (Test) which contain to collections: "Collection 1" and "Collection 2". Both Collections contain 4 images.
I selected "Collection 1" and applied Pick flag to all those images. When I select Test (Collection Set) I got 8 images shown, which none had flags. Ok, this works as expected. I selected "Collection 1" and then selected 1 image and made Virtual copy from it. Lr show me now 4 images with Flag and 1 virtual copy without. Again, works as expected. I now select Test (Collection Set) and I get 9 images (as expected), but one of them, the virtual copy, has pick flag applied. Not as expected. If I go back to "Collection 1" I get four images with Pick flags and one virtual copy without. (as expected.)
