Authoring Problems - Please lend expertise!

Hello and thanks in advance:
Here is what I would like to happen:
A DVD that can transition in and out of a Main Menu to a play all that calls to a Main timeline and return back using transitions in between.
A Scene Selection Menu that can call to a Main timeline and return back using transitions in between And highlight the appropiate button. Sometimes the overlay does not show up at all until you arrow up down left or right.
I am trying to bend Encore to my will but it is not working out to well. I am an experienced Scenarist guy, but have fell in love with Encore for it's simplicity. Here's the rub: I am not able to get a menu return call to return to the Main menu that I called from. Instead it returns to the scene menu highlights button one which is the same number as the play all button on the main menu. I have programmed this 8 ways to Sunday all with different problems. But I have finally came close enough that I need one small glitch fixed and I am there.I am using transitions in and out of every menu, and there are Scene menus as well. Here is how the DVD is layed out:
I have a "Main Menu" with a play all button that links to a "Main Menu to black" timeline.{I use all timelines for my transitions so that that Return to last Menu will work if I have to use it. I would rather not use Return to last Menu because I like to transition in and out of every menu.}
"Main menu to black" timeline links to a "Chapter Playlists". This chapter playlist has every chapter of the "Main Program Timeline". The "Playlists" has the folliwng code: end action, menu overide, menu remote are all set to call to "Fade Up Main Menu" timeline, which transitions back to the main menu.
I also have a "Scene Selection Menu" that has a fade in and out of it using timelines. The "Scene Selection Menu" will act as follows when a scene is chosen: ie. Scene 3 is chosen. Scene 3 button calls to "Scene 3 to black" this fades the Scene menu to black and then calls to the chapter in the "Main Program Timline". "Scene 3 to Black" has the following code:end action-goes to chapter 3, menu overide-none, menu remote-a timline called "Black to Scene Menu" which calls to the scene menu.
Lastly, the "Main Program Timeline" I have a show with 10 chapters of video each of which have a end action that calls to "Black to Scene Menu" My idea here was that all chapters will call back to the scene menu unless they are 'overiden' by a play all scenario. The "Main Program Timeline" has the following code: end action-Black to Scene Menu, menu overide-none, menu remote-"Black to Scene Menu"

When remote is hit from the Play all button here is what happens: it goes to the "fade up from black transition to Scene menu" which is the end and menu remote command for the main timeline. I had to do this so that my scene selection menu transitions in and out would work right. You see I have all of my scene buttons from the scene menu call to a scene menu transition timeline which inturn calls to the main timeline chapter points. Each chapter point has an end action that transitions to the scene menu, and because no menus were used for transitions, the correct button still highlights. The scene menu-main timeline reacts properly and I am happy with the results, However, the play all call from the main menu is more complex due to the fact I can't find a way to overide the main timeline's menu remote settings. Chapter lists,Play lists,overides, all have been tried with different results.
****Basically, I need to go to and from the main menu with transitions and to and from the scene menu with transitions to one master timeline and be able to have the menu remote button call back to two different menus. If you came from the play all button I would like a menu return call to bring you back to the Main menu transition in timeline. And if you came from the scene selection menu a menu remote call should bring you back to the Scene menu via a transition in timeline.***
This sounds so simple but it is really prooving to be difficult. I thought Chapter Playlists would be the answer but I get line 331 errors and internal software errors when I try to use them beyond simple chores. I will try your above advice and see if it works. Any other advice is greatly appreciated.
