Hi Workflow Experts,
I have one req with Error message dispaly.
requirment with when ever User accessed work items in business workplace in R/3 System then Error Message should display.
when ever work items for portal access then user can access.
for the above requirment what i need to do?
Please respond to this ... very urgent

It is possible when ever that user does'nt have authorizations for that object then aumatically the error message will display.
So, you need to check for that particular users should not have Authorizations to open(related object workitem) in workplace.
You should contact you Basis consultant.

Hello all,
We have an urgent client requirement to create material master using workflow.
Different views for the material master will be created by the relevant departments.
ex: Accouting 1, 2 will go to accounts deptt.
I have studied the workflow tutorial (20 units) on SAP help for leave of absence and have some understanding of objects, methods, bindings etc
I am however finding it very difficult to define the steps to create a workflow for material master. Are there any standard steps already defined that i can use.
Any help/inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
You need to speak to a workflow consultant.
You can get workflow to do many things (including creating a material master) but it takes a lot of coding and design.
For those of you who think that workflow is just used for the standard SAP workflow tasks, you have to realise that workflow is far more powerful and far more useful than many people think.
It is always referred to as "Event triggered messaging" but it is more accurate to call it "Event triggered events".
Within workflow you can chain together many different transactions and or ABAPS and so you can get it to do virtually anything you want (as long as you know how).
In this case you need the workflow to trigger an ABAP or BTCI session etc. that works through the MM01 transaction. It is relatively easy to get it to do this, but I am not technical enough to be able to help with the steps involved (sorry)

Purchase order release workflow - urgent

Hi friends
When iam creating purchase order it trigger the workflow WS20000075 for releasing purchase order in that purpose what can i do..
How can i set the Agents
How can i trigger the events - i think in that purpose using pftc we trigger the workflow.. so i need clear steps from beginning onwards..
my exact requirement
once i create purchase order, the workflow will be triggered..
after that the mail goes to the approver.. if he/she click that mail purchase order release statement want to be open.. after that he/she release purchase order it will goes to the next level..anyone give the step by step procedure..for that

You can get step by step workflow for PO using standard workflow
Release of Purchase Order :WS20000075
And for two levels of approvals you have to configure in SPRO the path is
Purchase Order:
SPRO> Material Management->Purchasing->/Purchase order-->Release procedure ---> Procedure with classification ---> set up procedure with classification ---> double click on Release strategies and Workflow.
If you don't know about this configuration, you have to confirm with your MM consultant.
after finish this iam triggering events using pftc
in that pftc iam choosing business object bus 2012 for po release..
i think thats enuf..
After that it is possible to trigger workflow.. when iam create purchase order..

These transaction code willbe helpful SU01,PFCG. Once you have created a role through PFGC , then goto Authorization tab of the role and need to carry out the following.
Role Name

> Role Name < ur role name>
< > are value to be specified
And also on the menu tab please create a folder , here you can save your BEX Query as Workbooks. when you assign this role to the new User-ID , on the SAP Easy access page the user will be able to access these queries/ Workbook.

When I am looking for Workflow standards, that's what I do:
Maybe is not the easiest solution but it work's for me
1.- Go to the transaction SWETYPV.
In that transaction you can see all the buses and workflow that the system has.
Is the relation between the bus and WF.
You have to make a list of all the buses that you have there.
2.- in the transaction SWO1 you can check for what is each bus and then you can choose which WF is going to work.
3.- In the transaction SWDD is the transaction for building WF you can enter the standard WF and look how is build. I recommend that if you are going to make some changes make a copy of the WF and work in the copy.

Parked document workflow(urgent)

Hello all,
I have modified the std wf for parked documents(ws00400004).I hav e to implement the subworklfow (ws10000052) fro 2 level release for the main workflow.i.e.I have three steps in my main workflow(Complete,release and post).At the 2nd step I want to implement the Subworkflows(For release based on amount).
For this ,What settings I have to make so that the corresponding release level workflow gets triggered (as per the customization settings n SPRO for amount).How do i define the exact point where the subworkflow shud get triggered and in order to do so,do i need to make any settings at the workflow level or this can be entirely done through Customization settings?

Can't find Expense Report process in Find Process in Workflow - Urgent

Hi,
I have a submitted expense report. I tried to search for the Expense Report number in the Find Process window in Workflow administrator responsibility.
But it did not give me any result. When I query ap_expense_report_headers_all using below query for the same Expense Report number, i got the data.
select * from ap_expense_report_headers_all where invoice_num = 'WEX308147'
Then i tried searching for the notifications recieved by the Approver of the Expense Report. Enter Approver Name in TO Field in Find Notifications window in Workflow Administrator resp. But no notifications are available in that approver list.
When i query in the APPS.wf_notifications table for notification from this process, i could find that the notification is in closed status.
Can some one help with the pointers, why the Expense Report is not displayed in Find Process window and Notification is not displayed in the Find Notifications window?

Try using the Status Monitor in the Workflow Administrator
use APEXP as the 'Type Internal Name'
change the 'Workflow Started' to 'Today'
The item Key for your workflow should be the expense report number, pick yours and drilldown in to the workflow to see where you it is waiting.

Wait for Event step in Workflow (Urgent).

Hi,all!
I am unable to implement the wait for event successfully in my workflow..
Sceanrio: I have created a container element in the WF with of type a BOR(ISUPARTNER) whose CREATED event is being waited for in the workflow.
Then in the WAIT FOR EVENT step in WF I m giving putting in the details of the event..
Then putting a send mail after this.
Problem: Now my workflow is throwing error and the send mail task is not executed even after the said event is done in the system..
Plz... suggest as to how to do it..

Now for this I m actually creating a container element of type BOR B in my workflow n putting a step WAIT FOR EVENT in which I m putting the CREATED event. For triggering the CREATED event no instance is required...
- Once again, Wait For Event step is only possible when the Object Key is available to the Workflow container when the flow reaches the event (are you waiting for a specific ISUPARTNER to be created or you don't care as long as some ISUPARTNER is created).
my event CREATED is not getting triggered automatically...
- First check if the standard system triggers the event for your object. If not explore different options for doing that.
For your scenario, check if you can trigger a custom event BORB_Created for BORA when BORB is created and use BORA in the Wait step.

An event has been defined in a delegated business object and linked with a workflow. My Problem is that i am unable to find the code related to this event. Is there any code required for triggering this event? if yes ..where to find?
My second question is that when this event get triggered. the agent table get populated. i checked the binding between workflow container and event but didnt get anything means some entries are there but not related to agent. I think some rule is linked to this workflow . how to find the rule which is attached to workflow.
Please send me ur valualble solution n suggestion.

Hi Manoj,
There are lots of ways in which an agent can be determined.
If it is not getting passed through the event -> workflow binding then there might be a background step before your dialog task to determine this "Agent". Check if you have one such background step in your workflow.
You can also set initial values in the attributes of the container element (You can access it by double clicking on the container element and clickng on Initial value tab). Check whether any initial value is set for your container element.
If it is a standard workflow and if you can provide the workflow template ID we can check it in our system and let you know the details

Email ID truncating during Workflow -- URGENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Work flow is configured during the PO Creation. The issue is EMAIL Address is getting truncated when the address is more than 30 Characters.

Sorry, but I do not understand what your problem is. You are saying that the e-mail address is getting truncated. Which e-mail address? Which workflow?
Are you using WS20000075? That workflow does not take an e-mail address from the triggering event, or indeed in the container. It does send e-mail, but the workflow initiator is used as recipient, so no e-mail address there either. I therefore believe you must be using a different workflow, but I have no idea which one.
In general, if you are having truncation problems, you need to check the data flow (bindings and programs involved if any). Somewhere along the chain you have char(30) or equivalent data field that is used to hold the e-mail address.

Random error when executing a workflow (urgent!!)

We are sometimes getting the following error message when a workflow is executed:
"com.waveset.util.WavesetException: Can't call method getObject on class com.waveset.server.InternalSession com.waveset.util.InternalError: ID not passed to ObjectCache.getObject"
This error occurs randomly (sometimes happens and sometimes don't, even when repeating the same test) when executing the create user and update user workflows.
The problem is that in spite of this error, the user is successfully created and provisioned to all resources (when executing the create workflow) and all changes made user to the user are also successfully provisioned (when executing the update user workflow), so we are not quite sure what is causing it.
So far, we've checked across our code to make sure that every time the getObject method is called we are passing to it the following code as context:

Indeed we are using the inbuilt Approval process in all of our workflows. We call that process from our approval activity and we pass to it the "approver" variable as an argument as follows:

Workflows Urgent!!!!

I am trying to launch workflows automatically through import Manager.For this I had assigned the workflow name in Import Manager.The trigger action for my workflow contains all the 4 i.e. Record import, add, update and Manual. My workflow steps contains Start->Process-> Match-> Stop. Its Launching the workflows but I am not able to do any further process. I mean to say when I am Login in as reviewer, its not showing mark as done or undone. Same is with MAtch process also. Its not running matching strategy.
But If I am launching a workflow manually, I am able to the whole process. Even when I am adding a record or updating records workflows are working fine. Its only not working with record Import.
MAXIMUM POINTS WILL BE REWARDED FOR APPROPRIATE SOLUTION.

Hi Dilmit,
1. Go to worklow stencil (Visio). Put both Assignee user and the send next step to user Id in all steps and save that workflow. It might be the case that matching step is going to other userid, and you are not allowed to perform that step.
2. You should be the workflow owner,
     Autolaunch = Immediate
    Trigger Action = Record Import
    Active = yes
3. Check the setting in Import manager Configuration.
4. Now your workflow should work.
and if the send next step = any other user id, but you are the workflow owner and launcher then you can right click and assume that you are going to perform next step.

Accounting docs created through Workflow ---- Urgent pls

Can anyone please let me know how do we know if any particular document has been created through workflow?
Eg.
1. Lets say one clerk posts a document and number 1000001 is generated.
2. Clerk parks a document - Supervisor gets email thru workflow and he posts the document. 1000002 is generated.
So in the above case, is there any identifier(Field) from any table using which we can findout how many documents were created through work flow - Case 2.

First instinct would be to check BKPF to see if there is anything obvious at you site that shows this e.g. Tcode. Otherwise I'd suggest (a) see if change history reflects this (BSTAT changes from V to space when posted), or (b) look for the workflow container data in tables sww_contob & swwwihead.

PO - workflow -- urgent pls

Hello all
I need to develop a simple report to show, how many PO's are in waiting to be approved by the supervisor.
Eg.
There are more than 25 clerks, and 5 supervisors , So each clerk will be creating the PO's and they are in the inboxes of their respective supervisors.
If we need to find out exactly how many POs are there still in waiting to be approved.
How can we get this info? Can anyone please suggest which tables should we look at?

No need to customize a report, try to use standard t-code like
ME2N- Purchasing Doc by Document Num
Goto Dynamic selection-Purchasing Doc Header
Select:
1.Rel strategy (choose the HOD)
2.Rel indicator (X-Blocked)
3.Created BY(your option if you want to see who created the PO)
