ADE does not support Android ereaders or other devices.  You can try
Bluefire or Overdrive and see if they do.

Is there any way to create invisible link on Adobe Reader Android?
I made link type : invisible on acrobat pro 9, but the link still shows up on adobe reader android. And for interactive purpose, I don't want to use bookmark. Any idea?

You can't. Reader is just a PDF viewer and not much else.

  • Making an Arch Linux wiki-reader Android app - Looking for some advice

Hey guys, hopefully this is an ok place to post this. I've just finished a beginning Java course and I'm starting on the next one. I'm learning Java with the intention of creating Android applications as a hobby. Since I've found myself accessing the wiki from my phone on many occasions, and this doesn't seem overly difficult, I think this is a good place to start.
I've been playing with this idea for a couple of weeks and I'm trying to determine the best way to approach this. I'm looking for any pointers/advice from a development standpoint and any (potential) user feedback as well.
So far, with the help of other Archers, I have come up with the following three options:
    1) Obvious choice- Connect to the actual wiki online
    Pros:
    +Always up to date
    +Small application size
    Cons:
-More difficult to strip current style and "mobilize" layout (there is a lot of clutter and links to outside of the wiki)
    -More permissions that other choices
    -Requires internet connection
    2) Use the arch-wiki-docs package
    Pros:
    +Offline
    +Easier to add css styles
    +Hopefully would require zero permissions
    Cons:
-Application would be large ~40MB (Maybe it could be reduced by removing non-english languages?)
-Not up to date, but pretty close
    3) Use the arch-wiki-lite package
    Pros:
    +Offline
    +Small application size
    +Hopefully would require zero permission
+More of a native android application feel instead of a dedicated webpage reader
    Cons:
    -No links to other pages
-Would need to create style/layout from scratch
-Not really sure how this would work (Searching, etc)
-Not up to date, but pretty close
Right now I'm leaning towards the second option, but only if I can figure out an automated way to strip down the html pages and remove the non-english pages. I'm thinking that I'll start with an English only version, then add international support (or a second version) later on if people want it. What are your thoughts?

    Thanks for the response!
rickeyski wrote: 1. Any app you make will require you to generate your own layouts android uses xml layouts there are webviews, which provide some of this functionality if you need to use html, however this will require online access.
The arch-wiki-docs package is in HTML and I'm using WebView to read it locally. The arch-wiki-lite package is a text file. Maybe I could import it into a database? Either way, using that package will require me to create the whole layout.
rickeyski wrote:  2 you could use a wrapper like phonegap, but that would me writing everything in html, css, javascript and you will use virtually none of your java.
I've used Titanium Studio before, which I think is pretty similar to Phonegap, but I do want to make this one with Java.
rickeyski wrote: 3. 40 mb is a huge app, granted its before compression, but its also before all of your code and layouts to make it work.. You would be limiting yourself to only the newest androids, don't know which phone you have in mind, but might not be a problem for you.
40MB is the compressed size. The html docs are over 100MB uncompressed. I think I could significantly reduce the size by removing the non-english pages, but I can't figure out a systematic way to find them. There are 3551 pages and they use names like 00000965.html, 00000967.html, 00000968.html, 00000974.html, etc. (Of those 967 isn't english, but the other three are.)
rickeyski wrote: 4. the biggest plus is the android docs and examples apps are very good, start reading.
Yup. I've been reading through those a lot. They are a big help.

  • Adobe Reader Android Enhancements

A few suggestions for enhancing Adobe Reader on Android.
Allow the option of hiding the system button bar (immersive mode).
For the drawing tool, add the ^ option to return to the prior menu. There is room for it and it makes it consistent with the menu came from. It also makes hiding the button bar work better.
Add an option to move a mouse "cursor". That is, it would be like the drawing tool but not leave a trail. This would be used like a laser pointer when mirroring/casting the screen for presentations. This would be an easy way to make the app much more useful.

Thanks for you requests. We have made a note of the same and shall try to incorporate them in one of our future releases.
    Thanks,

  • Is there a line marker for adobe reader android

I am using reader for knitting patterns.   The highlighter tool doesn't work with charts as it assumes it is a graphic.

No, Adobe Reader on Android doesn't currently support this feature. Though, it does support free-hand drawing tool, if that helps. We have taken note of this feature request and would try to provide it in one of our future releases.
    Thanks

  • Adobe reader android browser plugin

Why does adobe reader not allow the mime type application/pdf in an object tag to work in a web page?  Instead it wants to download the pdf instead of viewing it in the browser like your desktop application.  All you have to do is write a library .so file for the arm processor and include it in your adobe reader app. Then register the plug. The browser would see the mime type and look it up then run your library to interpret the data and display it in the object tag on the browser.

You must have used some file that was created with that program.  It is completely unnecessary for Safari or Firefox.  If you have installed Adobe Reader, it should have put a plug-in into your Internet plug-ins.  Find a pdf file in Finder, then select it, then right click, get info.  In the window, make sure that the pdf file opens with Adobe Reader, then click on Change All.  It tells the Mac to handle all pdf files with Adobe Reader, and IF you have the plug-in, you should be able to read it.

  • Adobe Reader for Android - Arabic support issue

    Dear Support,
I am trying to reach the developer for long time but the email provided is a mailing list which no one else has the right to post to it except their team.
There is a big problem with Arabic words searching in an Arabic PDF file with adobe Reader for android. To search for a word, I have to write the words backward, like instead of "Adobe" I have to write "ebodA" but in Arabic language. I know that your app developers are Indians, but please let an Arabic person show you how he can't search for a word in an Arabic PDF file. Please fix it urgently. it is very important for the Arabic language readers. Thanks for your action.

Please try the Adobe Reader Android forum.
You might find that this is a limitation in either the software or the file. Some Arabic files are written left-to-right internally, and look right but are backwards in each line.

  • Installing Adobe Reader on an Android tablet.

I downloaded Adobe-Android to my Android (2.2.1) tablet, with no problems.  When I go to install it, I go to App Manager, hit "Install", get a screen that asks, "Do you want to install this application?, followed by "Allow this application to:"
This is followed by (in orange) a Caution sign & "Storage - modify/delete SD card contents", and
a second orange Caution sign & "Network communication - full internet access".
I hit "Install", my tablet shows, "Installing...." for 10-15 seconds and I get a message"Application not installed".
My internet connection is good, all the Virus protections are off (that I can find), Java is enabled, Cookies are enabled, etc.
    What am I doing wrong?

  • Is there / will there be / a "Read Out Loud" access option for Adobe Reader on the android?

Adobe will "read" a pdf thru a Windows computer sound system.  Can we get the same feature on Adobe Reader / android version?

Great question!!! When I travel I would like to be able to listen to some multi page documents....it would be like a book on tape.

  • Does Apple read these posts? I'm having the same trouble connecting iphone4s to my  2012 Prius V. Apple said it was a Toyota problem. Apple needs to help us all!!!!!!!

Cannot connect new iPhone 4S to my Prius V bluetooth . Have been trying so many different fixes. Maybe if the almighty Apple read the posts, the problem could be fixed. Help!!!

    From http://www.toyota.com/entune/what-is-entune/phones.html we read:
"Android™ and Blackberry® wirelessly connect your phone to the available Entune™-equipped Toyota using Bluetooth®. The iPhone® is connected via a USB data cable."
There's clearly something different about the iPhone's bluetooth capabilities than the other two phones.  To say it's only Apple's or Toyota's problem isn't very helpful for anyone because, yes, Toyota should have designed Entune for full compatibility with iOS devices and, yes, Apple should have designed the iPhone to be at least as capable as the other phones wrt bluetooth.
I still don't know who to holler at.
