Authorisation on a computer not connected to internet?

So I downloaded a tv show episode on the mac, and i want to put it onto a windows laptop. The laptop does not have an internet connection however. Is there a way to be able to still watch it on the laptop without the internet connection needed for authorisation? Help would be much appreciated

the laptop needs to be authorized to play purchased content and, in order for it to be authorized, you need a connection to the iTMS.

  • Secure link to itunes store failed computer not connected to internet tried ununininstalling everything to do with itunes no joy also error code coming up E0000225 anybody out there got any ideas

Secure link to itunes store failed, (computer not connected to internet tried uninstalling everything to do with itunes,no joy also errror code E0000225 appearing. Have turned off windows firewall and also my Bullguarg security settings. Can anybody out there please help me thanks.

    Hi,
You could be right that the response to clicking on help is a symptom of an entirely separate issue, but nevertheless the secure link to itunes is definitely failed, and I am unable to log into Itunes on either PC.
I also noticed that even if I click on the link to create a whole new Apple ID, I cannot do that either, presumably because the secure link is not working.
After I noticed that there were weird things happening this morning, I did change my Apple ID password in the hope that this might resolve it, but it seemed to make it worse.  Now, all of my apple devices keep constantly prompting me for the apple ID password, and randomly either accepting it, or telling me it is wrong.  I know the password is correct because I can log onto the apple Manage My Apple ID screens in a web browser with it.
I was starting to think that this is an ISP issue (BT Broadband), but I have not seen anyone else posting with the same issue.  Does Apple use a different security protocol to everyone else?  I'm asking because all other secure services seem to be working fine, but anything related to apple that requires a secure connection or authentication is having issues.
I have also seen reference to making sure that Itunes is listed as an allowed program in Windows Firewall.  I cannot seem to do this because it says that my Windows firewall is being managed by McCafee.  I have checked the settings in McCafee, and it appears to me that Itunes, Bonjour, and many other apple programs have been granted "Full" access.  As said before in any case I have tried temporarily disabling the firewall and even this did not solve the problem.

Can you use the computer browser to check?
BTW, this is iPhone forum not iTunes.
Hint: Ask the question in the iTunes forum.

Safari reports "computer not connected to internet" (but it is). Firefox works normally. What kind of issue is this with Safari? Corrective action?

Hello. Safari 5 has a bug that causes you're router/modem to crash cutting internet access for many on it's users. This can last for several seconds in my case. Their are many threads here on the case and you can Google, "safari can't connect to server" and look for the most recent cases. The only work around that has worked for some has been open dns. Apple will have a fix soon.

  • Help - computer not connected to internet

i have just bought a new ipod. it required an upgrade of itunes, so i downloaded it (on my flat mates laptop) and installed it on my computer WHICH IS NOT CONNECTED TO INTERNET. uploaded fine, but everytime i click on a song or do anything, a window pops up saying "you are currently working offline. to access the itunes store you must be online. would you like to go online now?". i click no, and then it pops up again when i click anywhere, super annoying, made it unuseable. i can't get internet on computer.
any ideas how i can stop this? i have looked everywhere?!?

iTunes should work OK when not connected to the internet, but it does need to connect to the internet to do some things. I often use iTunes with the internet unplugged and have never seen this message.
I wonder if the tracks you are trying to play were purchased from the iTunes store? If so your computer may have lost authorisation and needs and internet connection to reauthorise. If that's it can you get the PC to your friend's house to reauthorise it?
But this would not affect tracks you ripped from CDs.
I checked on My PC to see if Show/hide ministore (View Menu) produced your message but it didn't on my PC.
I am not sure if having "Show links to the iTunes store" checked in Edit>>Preferences>>General could cause your message.
The other thing is do you have any pending downloads? I don't see how you could if the PC has never been connected to the internet, it it might be worth looking in your iTunes Music folder to see if you have a folder called downloads.
If there is a file called list.plist in the downloads folder, try deleting it.

  • ITunes belives computer not connected to internet.  Computer is connected. What can I do?

iTunes on my PC believes PC not connected to internet (will no connect to iTunes store.). PC is connected.  I tried reinstalling iTunes it did not help.  What can I do?

Run the diagnostics (Help, Diagnostics), and check to see if there are any security software callouts.  Like your firewall or an Antivirus program that may be preventing iTunes from accessing the Internet.

  • Installing trial on private computer NOT connected to internet

I have a pc - windows xp - computer that I use, I am trying to install the trial for photoshop cs5 extended, I saves the extension to run it there BUT it needs to be connected to the internet because once the installer shows up, it asks for the ID and password for Adobe, but since it is not connected to the computer I can't do it...How do I fix this? I intend to have this computer connected maybe by the end of next year being in the country and not having many internet options I can only have my labtop connected...SO, I need help installing the trial and I also need to figure out how to install the serial number later when I buy the product....Is that also going to be a headache?

Thanks for answering Jeff, I can't seem to pass the ID part on the installation, the Adobe download assistant does not let me go forward, I just downloaded the triacl version for LR3, and that worked perfectly, but lightroom did not need from the adobe assistant to install, aparently PS does, so not sure how I am going to do that.
I am not sure how I can get that computer going, since I have a built in internet card in my labtop, I wish I had wifi, but I don't.

  • Installing iTunes and QuickTime on computer not connected to internet

I'm planning on giving my current iPod to my father-in-law. He has a computer but it isn't connected to the internet. If I just download the iTunesSetup.exe from this Apple web site, does it contain everything needed to install iTunes, or will it try to download other components from the internet. If so, is there a way to get the full iTunes/Quicktime software so I can bring it over to his place (either burn it on a DVD or put it on a USB)?
    Thanks,
    -D

    Wlecome to AD!
iTunesSetup.exe should have everything you need.
QuickTime is bundled into the install - so are Safari, Apple Software Update, and a few other things.
Cross your fingers that it goes well. Othewise, you're nowhere near the internet to get answers if an error message or problem crops up.

Right click - "Get Info", change the ID3 tag.  You can copy and paste album art too.

  • Podcasts stopped downloading, says not connected to internet but laptop is.

Podcasts stopped downloading. Refresh dosent work. Tried connecting to iStore but error message says computer not connected to internet but it is.

Here are several things that you can try that might help.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    Check Settings>General>Date &Time>Set Automatically>On.
Reset your router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again.
