Authorisation Question

I have some music purchased from the music store and downloaded to my PowerMac G4. Having bought a new PowerMac G5 and used the setup assistant to firewire my home folder over, I was asked to authorise my new G5 to play.
Fair enough - but the resulting message said I have now authorised three computers. Does my iPod get automatically authorised and count as the third one? If not, where is the third computer?
Also, whilst my G5 will now play all my purchased music, if I try to use it as music to an iPhoto slide show, it asks for authorisation again. Any idea what's wrong?

Mick, no, your iPod is not counted as an authorized computer. It is not necessary to authorize iPods to play iTMS purchased songs.
Unfortunately only you know where that mysterious 3rd authorization might be. If you just can't figure it out you can use the iTunes Music Store Customer Service page and ask them to de-authorize all of your computers. Then you can authorize only the ones you know you will be using.

Now we want to give both users also display rights to the other company documents.
So
User A can change documents of cc 1000 and view documents of cc 2000.

Is this cumulative? According to SAP rules can user A now CHANGE documents from cc 1000 AND cc 2000?

The activities aren't accumulate, but just as I said you need to use the same object several times with different activieties.
I've create a test profile with the object FI_BKPF_BUK, I use it twice:
- A) Activity: 03, BUKRS = A
- B) Activity: 02, BUKRS = B
Then I've created a report in order to test this profile:
.parameters: p_buk type t001-bukrs.
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'F_BKPF_BUK'
         ID 'BUKRS' FIELD p_buk
         ID 'ACTVT' FIELD '03'.
write: '03', sy-subrc.
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'F_BKPF_BUK'

BW Authorisation on Adhoc Queries

Hello All
An authorisation question on BW. We want to give BW users the the permissions to save queries (created using the Adhoc Query Designer) to a designated role. Further, users should only be limited to modifying their own queries and denied modify access to others' queries.
If any of you have done this, is there a particular Authorisation object I should be looking to make the following restrictions:
1. Allow users to save to a particular role.
2. restrict modify access to be limited to the queries created by the user.
Much appreciate any suggestions/ideas/thoughts.

        I think you can do this by seting the Authorization object of the report owner to the follwing my give you this result RSZOWNER = "$USER" allows the user access to activities in all the components he is an owner of.

Tab pages in PIQST00

hi everyone,
I got an authorisation question in transaction code PIQST00 of Campus Management.
It's very strange that the tab page Qualifications is changing between display and maintenance when I'm switching from one tab page to another. I think I have given enough authorisations, such as PLOG objecttype CQ, ST etc.
Who knows sth. about this problem?

Cannot see Sharepoint with iOS8

Just Upgraded my iPhone 5 with iOs 8.
Before the upgrade I was able to connect to internal IIS 8 Webservers (Sharepoint and a couple of other IIS applications)
Now I get the Authorisation questions and then the page remains white .
It seems to happen with IIS Web applications. Passive browsing is not affected.
Tested the behaviour with a iPhone 5S runnig iOs8 and the same.
Please fix.

We are using SharePoint 2013 and it does not work. And it is not just SharePoint. We have other internal web apps that use Windows Authentication and it does not work with those either. Chrome works fine will all of them on iOS 8.
James Ward4, are you using Windows Auth or Forms Auth?
And CCI_INC, you are correct about iOS 7. When iOS 7 first came out, it did not work with sites using Windows Auth and was fixed in iOS 7.0.3. Hard to believe they left out that fix in iOS 8 - I suppose it could be a different bug.
Unfortunately, Chrome is not really an option for us because we have a workflow system that sends out hyperlinks in emails that go to our Windows Auth sites, and Apple will not allow a default browser other than Safari, so tapping a link in an email always goes to Safari.

Authorisation of an old account on a new mac, Password not working, no longer have access to that email address, and security question not working. But I do have my mac authorised! ...is there anyway to copy or get authorisation info off it???

I have got a new Mac, I am trying to share my itues on it as well as my old mac, I have had two itunes accounts in my life, one is current now (this account) one I have not had access to the email for years. Since I have bought music off both accounts, I wish to play it all on both my macs. My Old mac has both accounts Authorised fine and all is good.
My new Mac, I have thios account running fine, but keep getting prompted for the password for my old account, I have no idea what my old password is, I have not had access to that email address for 5 years, and for some strange reason the security question isn't working eaither.
Since I do still have one Mac where it is Authorised, Is there any file I can copy accross or anyway to get the password out of the OSX 10.6.8 for my old account.
Secondly, is there anyway to roll both accounts into just my current one.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select
          Change Settings for Keychain "login"
In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
          Keychain Access ▹ Preferences... ▹ First Aid

That doesn't help me. For itunes it brings me to the express lane which doesn't help because my case is not in it. It's all standard procedure things. I understand those but my situation is different. The combination of a passport forgotten and an non-existing email adress (and birth dates that are not correct or not accepted). What I need is my password emailed to another email adress than the original one because that no longer exists.

I only have iTunes on one laptop/pc, but it has asked me to authorise my iTunes over a year after I've already done it - referring to my iTunes as the 2nd out of 5, and is asking me for my security questions. But I have no other authorised users.

You can authorise a computer via the Store > Authorise This Computer drop-down menu e.g.
For the security question, if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.

If you need to reset you security questions, do not know the answers and no longer have access to that email account, see the last sentence under Note in step 5.
You'll be asked to answer 2 of your 3 security questions before you can make any modifications. If you are unable to remember your answers, you can choose to send an email to your rescue email to reset your security questions.
Note: The option to send an email to reset your security questions and answers will not be available if a rescue email address is not provided. You will need tocontact iTunes Store support in order to do so.

Ok I have looked through previous posts and nto quite found the answer
We are implementing the new authorisations in BW and we have done the following:
1: Made 0profitcenter authorisation relevant along with the special characteristics:
0TCAACTVT
0TCAIPROV
0TCAVALID
2: Creat Analysis Authorization (eg: IT) by executing transaction code RSECADMIN
3: Inserted the InfoObject 0profitcenter and given it a required value (95595 for example) and operator "EQ" (single value).
4. In PFCG created a role Z_USER_PC_95595
5: Put in authorization object S_RS_AUTH and added the IT analysis authorisation saved and generated
No when we exectue the report we get an non auhtorisation issue on subselection.
I ahve solved it by created a variable in the report on profit centre and selection it as an authorisation variable so the value 95595 for profit centre gets automatically filled.
The report now works.
HOWEVER,
Do I always need to create the variable in the report to compliment the work in PFCG and RSECADM or is there a way to do this without the variable so the restriction is automatic and not visible to the user???
If i do not need to create the authorisation variable then what other way is ther? Please give detailed steps

To automatically fill the values in the query by those the user has authorization you have to use variables. This is because when you're executing the query you have in there the profit center, the system doesn't know what values the user is executing has authorization and tries to send them all. After this the system checks all those values with the user authorization and fails if it don't find a match. So you have to use a variable to filter the values.
Now you could create several types of variables.
An authorization variable ready for input. This variable will automatically fill the values the user has authorization but allows the user to see those values and change those values. Imagine the user has authorization for 100 types of profit center. By default the system would fill those 100 profit centers, but the user could change those 100 to only 1 or 2.
An authorization variable not ready for input. In this case the system would automatically fill the values the user is authorized for but won't let the user see or change those values. This is good if you want transparency in your authorization. The user doesn't even has to know he/she will be checked for that authorization. In this case the system would always execute the query with authorization since all the values the user is authorized are always filled. You can put this characteristic with the variable in the filter or in the free char.
A normal variable, ready for input. In this case you allow the user to enter the values but don't pre fill them. You let the user insert whatever he/she wants. Off course in this case the user could insert an amount of values he/she is authorized and not, and the system will validate all of them. If the system encounters any value the user is not authorized will prompt an lack of authorization message if not it would execute the query just fine.

Question re authorising my computer

I installed Digital Editions and tried to authorise my computer but got a message saying "Activation Server Error - Code E_AUTH_NOT READY". What does this mean? What do I do now?

Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
E_AUTH_NOT READY is another common incorrect message.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
In extreme cases on the mac, the following extra step has helped some people. Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash. Can someone tell me if it's possible configure FMS 3.5 so that it authenticates against Webseal so that only authorised users can have access to the media?

Does the normal version of FMS support cookie passing? We have Webseal infront of FMS and it seems that our flash player doesn't always pass the authorisation cookie through.
Also could you expand more on the use of LoadVars, XML send/load, NetServices, or XMLSockets to communicate with Webseal?
