  • I'm having website certificate problems.

    Recently, when I try to purchased anything on eBay, a box pops up stating:
    "The certificate for this website was signed by an unknown certifying authority. you might be connecting
    to a website that is pretending to be checkout.payments.ebay.com....."
    Is there something i can do about this? For now, I use Firefox and don't have any certificate problems but
    I'd prefer to use Safari.
    Thanks
    jt

    This question has nothing to do with iBooks, nor anything to do with OS X Server — this question is really getting bounced around the forums, too! — and probably nothing to do with the particular web browser you're using.
    This is either something weird with local DNS or the host you're connecting to (that would be bad), or something weird with the certificate being presented by the eBay web site you're accessing:
    Launch Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and issue the command
    dig +short checkout.payments.ebay.com
    Here's an example of what that command looks like, with the $ prompt and with the output shown before the next $ prompt:
    $ dig +short checkout.payments.ebay.com
    66.211.180.57
    66.135.215.197
    $
    I've posted the two IP addresses that I get from that command.
    If you get those two addresses, it's probably eBay's error.
    If not, post what you get for IP addresses.
    If you don't get anything output from the command, or if you get something different from those two hosts, you might have an issue with your local DNS setup.

  • Radius certificate problems...

    Hello,
    I am using AirPort Extreme's with Radius configured in Mac OS X Server 10.6. Authenticating works, but only with a certificate error on the clients. So I purchased a certificate and installed it (including the intermediate certificate in the System Keychain. But I keep getting a certificate error, on my iPhone for example I get a display with: "Not Verified", however in the server Certificates page it says: "This certificate is valid". When I use the same certificate on the Web service with SSL, there seems to be no problem at al. See http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html?hostname=api.serverdensity.com#hostna me=core.hondsrugcollege.nl
    +I tried several certificates: Comodo, Thawte and now GeoTrust. Neither worked, with Radius. Not with iPhone, not with Windows clients. With Windows clients I got this error when connecting via Radius:+
    +The Credentials provided by the server could not be validated. We recommend that you terminate the connection and contact your administrator with the information provided in the details. You may still connect but doing so exposes you to security risk by a possible rogue server.+
    +Radius Server: core.hondsrugcollege.nl+
    +Root CA: GeoTrust Global CA+
    +The server "core.hondsrugcollege.nl" presented a valid certificate issued by "GeoTrust Global CA", but "GeoTrust Global CA" is not configured as a valid trust anchor for this profile. Further, the server "core.hondsrugcollege.nl" is not configured as a valid NPS server to connect to for this profile.+
    What should I do to troubleshoot this?
    Message was edited by: Cybex

    One of the key terms I can see in your post is 'Trust Anchor'. Have a search around about this and it may just shed some light.
    In a windows wireless client setup using 802.1x you may notice a screen in the wireless profile setup with a tick box saying 'Validate Server Certificate'. Underneath there you need to select the Trusted Root Authority certificate to use to validate the certificate you have installed. There must be something similar in MacOS and iOS. Alternatively you could untick the 'validate...' check box and the problem should go away, but you are likely reducing security by doing this.
    Sorry i cant help with specifics but hopefully I've pointed you in a direction that can solve the issue.

  • Is it possible? (S40 CERTIFICATE PROBLEM)

    I am a customer of Nokia s40 series phones, especially of Nokia 112.
    I didn't know about the consequence of deleting Authority certificates before.
    Unknowingly I deleted all of them except three untouched certificates.
    Consequently It always shows "Certificate not on sim or device" when signed apps are tried to be installed from Ovi store or any.
    Though I have installed all 42 certificates from http://bit.ly/NokiaCertificate in which 2 or 3 are expired, but still the problem is unsolved.
    I have no computer or pc through which I could be able to install certificates without any error.
    I know certificate installing is impossible without pc or going to nokia store.
    Inspite of those, can anyone tell me how to install certificates without the help of pc?
    Is there any online, or different way to do it perfectly?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    You do not need the latter two because those are certificates which got included for a handful Java MIDlets signed in a wrong way, a handful. Normally, JAD files include the latest (still valid) version of that certificates automatically, because they are just intermediates. You have the CA already. No need to bother about, especially because you cannot set the app-signing bit on those either without a computer.
    For app-signing, you need the three certificates mentioned in my link. Furthermore, those three need the app-siging bit set (see Nokia » Menu » Settings » Secturity » Authroities » highlight the certificate » Options » Usage). Furthermore, you need the Nokia Online Content CA. Only those four certificates are relevevant for the error message you get.
    The GlobalSign one does not matter for app-signing, because it is used only for accessing web services like HTTPS via SSL/TLS. You get that from there …

  • Installing a new Authority Certificate on E71

    I need my university WLAN's root certificate installed on my E71. So I downloaded it but when I save it, it gets saved in the 'Trusted Site Certificates' folder. I need it in the 'Authority Certificates' folder. Anyone know how I can get it in there?

    I think I have the same problem as the original poster; I need to install both a client certificate and a CA certificate, in order to access a WLAN.
    I copied both certificates onto the phone's memory card, and then opened the client certificate (.p12) which installed fine.
    I then opened the CA certificate (.der), which also got installed, but under "Trusted Site Certificates" instead of "Authority Certificates". I have also tried to open the certificate using the built-in web browser, and it will still install as the wrong type of certificate. If I open the certificate using a web browser on my computer, the certificate is recognized as a CA certificate, so I believe this is an issue with my E66.
    Any ideas?

  • E6 EAP-PEAP MSCHAPv2 authority certificate

    I am unable to connect to our company WLAN. I tried various username/domain/realm combinations for the EAP-PEAP MSCHAPv2 settings but it keeps giving message authentication failed. Our ocmpany does not have authority certificate and hence I select "not defined". I was told by our network admin that Nokia phones have this problem that they cannot connect without authority certificate.
    Is there any work around? I tried excporting an interim certificate of our company from my laptop but to no avail. Pls help.

    If there is actual workaround to get EAP-PEAP MSCHAPv2 to use with WLAN to use Eduroam, that would help me and many other people.
    Maybe Nokia has not build it to Nokia E6 phones.
    But if there would be an update for Belle OS to use this security authentication with WLAN that would help as well.

  • Adobe AIR 3 Performance Issues and Code Signing Certificate Problem

    I recently updated to Adobe AIR 3.0 SDK (and runtime) doing HTML/Javascript development using Dreamweaver CS5.5 in a Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).
    The AIR app I'm developing runs well from within Dreamweaver. But when I create/package the AIR app and install it on my machine:
    1. The app literally CRAWLS running it in my Windows 7 12G RAM machine (especially when I use the mouse to mouse over a 19-by-21 set of hyperlinks on a grid) --- IT IS THAT SLOOOOWWWW...
    2. The app runs fine in my Mac OS X 10.6.8 with 4G RAM, also using the Adobe AIR 3 runtime.
    About the Code Signing Certificate problem:
    When I try to package the AIR app with ADT using AIR's temporary certificate feature, I get the error message "Could not generate timestamp: handshake alert: unrecognized_name".
    I found some discussions on this problem in an Adobe AIR Google Groups forum, but no one has yet offered any resolution to the issue. Someone said Adobe is using the Geotrust timestamping service --- located at https://timestamp.geotrust.com/tsa --- but going to this page produces a "404 --- Page not found" error.

  • HOW TO INSTALL ROOT (Authority) CERTIFICATES ON S4...

    Recently i bought a 6500 Classic and stupidly deleted my Authority Certificates.
    After trwaling the net for info on how to re-install certificates i couldnt find an answer apart from NO YOU CANT DO THIS.
    Well to that i say NUTS!!! because you can and i will show you how by simply following these steps.
    1. Create a New Folder on your desktop and call it whatever you like.
    2. Open notepad on your computer.
    3. Copy the text below into the Notpad file. (I got this from some website as they were using it for smething else but it does work so thanks to them or thanks to you if this is yours)
     <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD XHTML Mobile 1.0//EN" "http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/xhtml-mobile10.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <title>Install root CA</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>
    <a href="der1.cer">Download a CA Cert1</a>
    <a href="der2.cer">Download a CA Cert2</a>
    <a href="der3.cer">Download a CA Cert3</a>
    <a href="der4.cer">Download a CA Cert4</a>
    <a href="der5.cer">Download a CA Cert5</a>
    <a href="der6.cer">Download a CA Cert6</a>
    <a href="der7.cer">Download a CA Cert7</a>
    <a href="der8.cer">Download a CA Cert8</a>
    <a href="der9.cer">Download a CA Cert9</a>
    <a href="der10.cer">Download a CA Cert10</a>
    <a href="der11.cer">Download a CA Cert11</a>
    </p>
    </body>
    </html>
    4. Save the Notpad file as type ALL FILES but when naming it just call it cert.html and save it to the folder you created on your desktop earlier.
    5. Now downlaod the Root Certificates you need to the same folder on your Desktop.
    6. When saving the first Certificate to the folder call it der1 ((make sure not to take out the file extension eg .cer)) then the second der2, third der3 and so on and so on till you get to der11. (Dont worry this will not rename the certificate when it installs on your phone.)
     Example of what the files in your Desktop folder should be called der1.cer, der2.cer etc etc.
    7. Now transfer the whole folder from your Desktop to your Mobile phone. (I did this by using Nokia PC Suite.)
     8. When the folder with the certificates and hmtl we made have been transfered to you phone navigate using your phone to that folder.
    9. Go into the folder and open the cert.html file. (Your browser will now open a page with 11 download links available)10. Now all you have to do is click on each link and accept each certificate remembering to save and they will install on your phone. (On my 6500 Classic i can check this by Navigating through my phone to Menu>Settings>Security>Authority Certificates)
     Notes:- Some errors you may receive when trying to download the certificates through your phone browser may be Already Exists, Expired Certificate and the most annoying is Corrupted Certificate.
    Already Exists - Shouldt allow you to save (DO NOT SAVE IF IT ALLOWS YOU)
    Expired Certificate - (DO NOT SAVE)
    Corrupted Certificate - Install the certificate on your computer first, then go to Tools>Internet Options>Content>Certificates.
    (save the certificate to other people tab) Browse for the certificate you installed then export it in DER format to the Desktop Folder you created then start process over again to get it onto your phone.
    Remember to delete any certificates as you go that you have already installed so you dont get mixed up.
    Any issues reply and i will do what i can to help and if anyone has Hutchinson 3G Root Certificates please let me know.
    Thanks.
