Hi,
I have a query on a multiprovider (fetching data from 5 DSOs) with 20 columns.
Is there a way I can setup security such that when user 1 runs the query, the report displays data for all columns.
However, when user 2 runs the query, 15 columns contain data but the remaining 5 are blank (because the user does not have authorization to view those columns)
really appreciate your help!

Dear Pradeep,
I am afraid that there is no standard way for getting this. BW always shows a message "No authorization" and suppresses the complete result, if characteristic values or key figures are in the drill down although the authorization check fails.
The only way I see is using calculated characteristics/key figures and to decide in the underlying ABAP code, what values have to be shown.
I hope, these hints help to find a solution.

Authorization BI 2004s : restricting access to infoproviders in multi prov

I have a multiprovider that contains 5 DSOs.
Is there a way I can setup security such that user 1 has access to all 5 DSOs, however user 2 has access to only 2 DSOs.
Thus, when user 1 runs a report off the multiprovider, they will have access to data from all the 5 DSOs.
However, when user 2 runs the same report, they will have access to data from only 2 DSOs. So, the columns that are relevant to those 2 DSOs contain data, however, the columns relevant to the other 3 DSOs are blanked out?

we have a special characteristic authorisation object known as OTCAIPROV through which we can authorise the certain number of infoproviders to some person by giving this authorisation to his role.

Overdrive download errors: 2004

Each time I try to download a EPUB book to my iPhone 4 via the Overdrive app, I get this error message.....
"ACS4 Authorization Error: 2004
Adobe Request
Error: E_ADEPT_UNKNOWN-"
The only thing that has worked is deauthorizing and then reauthorizing my Adobe account, but each time I do that I get another error message....
"Fulfill:2004
Adobe Request
Error: E_ADEPT_LIC_TOKEN_NULL_DATA-"
Once I clear this error message, my books just start downloading on their own.
I have no idea what these mean, but it's getting a bit annoying to do this every time. Any suggestions?

Are you downloading directly onto the iPhone Overdrive app, or are you downloading to ADE on a computer then moving the books to Overdrive?
If the second, try using the Bluefire app on the iPhone instead of Overdrive.
It seems to be more reliable then Overdrive app; and it can read Overdrive library books (with proper authorization), but can't download them directly.

My computer(A toshiba) crashed and when I bought a new computer(a Mac), my previous apple ID does not word and I was only able to get songs that I bought in 2004. I am unable to authorize my account to get to songs that I purchased recently. Please help.

While this won't help if you are having password problems, I did want to point out that you do not need to access old machines to de-authorize them. Once you are signed in at the iTunes store, access "my account" by clicking on your username in the top navigation bar. Then "manage devices". You can remove any old machines that way.

Authorization problem in Sneak preview 2004s ABAP version

I have successfully downloaded the sneak preview 2004s ABAP version, I hv created the client 001 for BI. when I try to create DataSource or Transformations system saying You have no authorization for DataSource and when i try to create infosource, it is saying <b>You are not authorized to display the InfoSource</b>,but system allow me to created info cube.

thx a lot for your quick reply.The problem is i cannot find it.
I run SE80 trx, i create a simple WD application and a view. I select the view, then and i have three "frames" (from the left):
- The standard SE80 tree
- In the "layout" tab of the WD application, i have the browser preview (but it shows the standard IE error page) and a window with the UI of the windows, designed in a tree (rootuielementcontainer).
But nothing about view designer.
I have sapgui 6.40 patch lev.20

Authorization 2004S

Hello,
I tried to develop authorizational object in 2004S just like 3.5. Using transaction RSSM it doesn't work. Therefore you have to use transaction RSECADMIN. The client wants to have a simple authorization concept. E.g. User1 x is only allowed to look at 0Fund 1000 and User2 0FUND 2000. We have done all the necessary work that be done if you look at the document http://asug.prod.web.sba.com/client_files/Calendar/Upload/Analysis%20Authorizations_Amelia_Lo.pdf
In 3.5 you could use transaction SE38 using PFCG_ORGFIELD_CREATE to add organisational levels in transaction PFCG. If you make use of derived roles this is necessary. In transaction RSECADMIN it works differently and using transaction se38 is not possible.
My question is what are the necessary settings ( OBJECT in the role) and how can I make different roles with only a different 0FUND authorisation (organisational level)

The documentation has been read by me en there are 3 documents that I found on the internet, But none of them solved my problem. Actually there are 2 problems. How can I make a motherrole with derived roles beneath that have different values in the authorization field objects. And why is there no security if you start the portal with limited authorization. In my query I made an authorization variable. Transaction Iused are RSECADMIN, PFCG, RSA1, query designer

Authorization BI in Netweaver 2004s

Hi,
we have authorization object define in RSSM wich don't correspond to an IO autorization relevant.
In the past we use this auth object to make an authority check in a customer program.
Now with the new concept we want to supress the old autho object (we have made with RSSM) but how to include an authority check without old authorization object and no IO autho relevant???

Why don't you create a standard authorization object in the ABAP workbench? As I understand you've used RSSM to create an auth. object but you're only using it in customer programs. Using SE80 is not as comfortable but I think it will do fine and it's the common way to do this.

Authorization for Process Chains in BW 3.5 (2004)

'Transport Connection' tool-->
Click on 'Object Changeability' pushbutton-->
And for Object types RSPC and ISIP make "changeable/Not Changable" .
Note: This will work only if your system is lockect aganist the changes as it is normally in Production.

SAP BI 2004s "Analysis Authorizations"

Greetings to all in the forums, long time listener, first time caller. OK, so lousy introduction... Anyways... I have been told to prepare for a NW2004s BI upgrade (from 3.5 we have now), and unfortunately for me my CIO is very "gung-ho" about this new catch phrase.
I've searched the SDN forums, and SAP Help, but have only come across standard BW security documentation. Can anyone point me to information on these new BI Analysis Auths? Are they similiar in regards to setting up hierarchy auths?
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully see some of you at Tech Ed in Vegas.

We are in the midst of a Netweaver upgrade and the new authorizations model has probably been our biggest issue. There isn't much expertise (Marc Bernard excluded) in this area yet. We've implemented dozens of OSS note fixes and still have some high priority customer messages open. Your issues will depend on what your current environment looks like. For example, one of our primary issues right now is configuring our BPS Salary Planning application security. I'm confident that we'll get by the issues but MAKE sure that you have a robust plan to test all the new authorizations and MAKE sure that you have serious client testing commitments.
I don't have any pre-documentation that's any better than what you'll find here (or at the ASUG site or any of the other SAP sites).

Authorizations: A new concept for analysis authorizations is in BI 7.x, based only on authorizations as elementary objects. Old 3.x authorization concept (reporting authorizations) is replaced. Move from SAP authorization concept (like R/3 or ECC have) of authorization objects. New concept includes any authorization-relevant characteristics and treat single values, intervals and hierarchy authorizations the same. Navigation attributes can now also be flagged as authorization relevant in the attribute maintenance for characteristics and can be transferred into authorizations as characteristics. See Notes 923176 and 820183.
- Authorization check for MultiProvider: Note 927872.
- Analysis authorizations: You can no longer use customer exit variables to assign hierarchy authorizations in the new authorization concept. See Note 820183, section 3f.

I have gotten the above message when trying to download Overdrive. How do I resolve this?

No one here can reset your activations for you. You need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

Itunes keeps asking for me to authorize purchased songs again and again

I placed all my songs on an external harddrive. Then I got a new computer. I am now using a Vista machine with an Intel Dual Processor. I placed the songs on a new internal harddrive using SATA. I reinstalled Itunes, etc. Now, whenever I ask for a song purchased from Itunes to play, it says that the machine is not authorized to play the song. So I put in my password and a prompt comes up indicating that my machine is now authorized to play the song. I push okay. The song does not play. If I push the play button, a new prompt comes up saying agin that my machine is not authorized to play the song. I then put in the password and a new prompt says that my machine is now authorized to play. I again push okay, but the song does not play and I do this again and again and again.
I have tried to get rid of the sd file. I have tried changing my password. I have tried changing my ID. I have never changed my account. It's always been the same one since I joined Itunes in 2004 or 2005. I have purchased 280 songs since then, so I'm really upset that I can't access those purchased songs. Everything that is not purchased works fine.
I should say that my new computer stutters sound and video a little bit. I've done some things to minimize that but it still happens. I don't know if the two are related.

Report to check the open authorization in Roles

Hi All,
Is there any standard SAP report or option to find out the list of roles with open authorizations(auth data incomplete) in the R/3 system?
We are on R/3 4.7.

I've found a solution on netweaver 2004 for which I think does work on 4.7 as well:
Use SE16 to get the data from tables AGR_1251 and AGR1252 with the following selection criteria:
For the "LOW" field open the selection subscreen, go to "exclude ranges" and in the lower limit you enter "#!" where the exclamation mark is the lowest in the ascii range (character 33) and the hash is there to escape any special meaning so SE16 will accept it. In the "upper limit" enter "ÿ", character 255. Now you've told the system not to return any row with a valid ascii character in the "LOW" field for the objects.
You may want to filter for "DELETED" <> "X" as well in AGR_1251.
