"Authorization failed. Please connect to Itunes." Please help!

Hey I'm Irish and this is my first post.
I recently reset my password. I followed the steps as said and it said the reset was succeseful. When I try to download an app on my IPhone 2G the message in the title comes up. Well I connected to Itunes and nothing happend, and my password works on Itunes.
I'm just totaly lost on this and would classify my computer skills as a novice so act like your trying explain something to a 5 year old.

You're not alone. I'm American & this is my 1st post & I have 3G & everytime I try to buy an iTune or load an App I get the "Enter Account Information" & input my Username & Password & get the "Authorization failed. Please connect to iTunes." which is useless since I get the same message when I'm in iTunes.

My friend gave me some paid apps on a usb and i then put them into my itunes library, that worked. I then connect my ipod touch a start to sync. When it finishes it says "You are not athorized to use these apps". i tried athourising and deauthorising, still dosent work.
Can someone plz help me????????????

O.k. on my iPhone when I'm in an app I tried to purchase something and it won't let me by saying, Transaction Failed, Cannot Connect to iTunes Store.. But I'm able to use the same app on my iPod touch and I can purchase what I needed.... So can somebody help me figure out what the reason is behind it? Both the iPhone and the Ipod has the same account information and both uses the same computer to connect to iTunes.... So why does one work and the other doesn't? Also its an iPhone 3Gs...

Although you may be using the same iTunes Account, things can get a little strange if you have different AppleID's for each device. On your device, check settings ==> Store. The AppleID for that device is listed there. It can be confusing because syncing to the same iTunes account is not the same as managing App and purchases through the iTunes Store Account.
On your iTunes window the uppe right corner shows which AppleStore ID is logged in. If it turns out they are different, simply log out of the store on iTunes, and log in with the other account. Download the updates. Log out and then back in to the other account.
As an alternative, download the updates on the device they were purchased. Sync to iTunes, and the updated download be transferred back to iTunes and available to the other devices syncing with iTunes.
Or....... if your iPhone is Airplane Mode, turn that Airplane mode off and ignore everything from above.

Just make sure if it wifi is connected. if this doesn't work reboot your iPhone. If it's still doesn't work contact the game service center or something. lastly, make sure u have your credit card sign in. hope this help.

You need to go to Date & Time and change the date ahead more than a year. Then try and then you can change the date back.

I have a 8gb ipod touch i brought it in australia and now im back in england, i cannot seem to connect to itunes, when i plug the cable in it makes the noise to say its connected and then the ipod camera window pops up but still doesnt connect to itunes, ive reset everything and deleted all the media files now i have to re-install it but i still cant seem to connect to itunes to re-install. please help having a mini drama with this ipod!!

maybe log into itunes click the your account button on the right then change country?? no idea if that would have a difference but worth a try

Hi, im new with this. I just got a new MacBook Pro 13" with IOs X Lion. Im having a big trouble with my apple ID. I cant create an ID. first was the credit card security code. Somebody told me to follow the instructions in this link to solve the problem ( iTunes Store: My credit card's security code or zip code does not match my bank's records ) but i cant even connect to Itunes Store. PLEASE I NEED SOME HELP URGENT!!
P.D: I created an ID on apple page but it seems that doesnt work for nothing. I tried using that ID on both (Itunes an App Store) but doesnt work.

First and foremost, I agree with gdgmacguy about using the support link. That is most likely your best bet. But, I have read posts from other users that had issues with their Apple ID that you must enter your address exactly like it appears on you credit card statement. Don't abbreviate "street" or "road" - things like that - unless that matches your statement exactly. Have you moved and maybe not changed your address on your credit card statement yet...??
I am not saying that is the reason you can't create the ID, but it has been an issue for some. You could try what I suggest, but the support link is the best way to go if you can't get it accomplished on your own.

One way is to Drag and Drop the Entire iTunes Folder from your Old Computer to an External Hard Drive...
Then Drag and Drop the Entire iTunes Folder to the location of your Music on the New Computer...

Authorization problem- please help!

about a week ago i got a new hard drive installed because mine needed to be replaced for some reason or another. there wasnt a virus or anything. so before i got my new one put in, i brought my computer to a professional who backed all my music and other info onto cds, after the new harddrive was installed he transferred all the cds back onto my computer for me. my problem now is i cant play any of my purchased music. when i go to advanced-deauthorize computer, it says that this computer was not authorized, and to authorize the computer i need to play a song purchased on my account. so when i try this by clicking on one of my purchased songs, it says "you have already authorized more than 5 computers with this account, you must first deauthorize one of the other computers". im very confused, i never have used my itunes on any other computers, i read through the trouble shooting steps on itunes.com and i didnt realize i was supposed to deauthorize my computer before it was worked on, but i dont even know if this is what is causing the problem? all my other music is working fine other than my purchased music, and i have a lot of it, what can i do??? the thing is i dont have 5 computers authorized. when i went to do the deauthorize all under my account info screen it says i have "0 computers are authorized to use this" so there is no deauthorize all option! but when i actually try to authorize by clicking on a song in my purchased music folder, it says that there are 5. please help i dont know what to do!!

i tried what u suggested and my purchased songs still wont play. when i click on them it says you arent authorized to play this, and i have to enter my email and password. however, im starting to forget which of my two email addresses i used to purchase those songs. is there a way to figure this out? when i use my school email account to authorize them, a box pops up that says "you have successfully authorized 2 out of ur 5 computers" but the songs still wont play. when i try to authorize with my hotmail account, it says that i have authorized all 5 computers and it also still wont play. in my account setting window, it says that there are no computers authorized to my account, which is based on my hotmail account right now i think. im really confused!!
