Authorization has become case sensitive

We have migrated from Stellent 7.5 (Windows platform with MS SQL db) to UCM 11g (Linux platform with Oracle 11i DB). We have implemented SSO using AD integration. The issue is that after authenticating the user the kerberos token passes the user NT ID in same case as its stored in AD (ex: MJack). However, in our database the user NT ID is stored in lower case (ex: mjack).
As Oracle DB is case sensitive while quering the DB the UCM application throws the error that user doesn't have priviledges, it doesn't finds the user prviledge information in DB with NT ID 'MJack'.
Is there any fix for this issue or someone else also has faced this problem.
Thanks,
Rajiv

What user privilege information can it not find?
Everything should come from AD I would think? Do you have a stack trace of the error...and can you tell us when it occurs.
If it does not recognise the user at all I would have thought it would maybe create a new entry in the Users table...

  • There is a problem with firefox find option in new version ! i have noticed after updating to the new version the find option has become case sensitive

Now the find option in the firefox page which can be activated by pressing F3 is Case sensitive and this caused me a lot of problems
this problem wasnt there in older firefox versions

Sorry, that "mail" thing isn't a standard part of Firefox. Seek support from the developer of the add-on you have installed that added that feature to Firefox. Support contact information should be on the download page for that extension.

  • Bug? - LR2 - Folder names has become case sensitive?

    Hi all
I am testing LR2, and experienced that I suddenly had my images spread over two Root folders.
I am using Windows XP SP3 and have all my images stored on a NAS.
When I imported the images I have used both small and capital letters on the name of the NAS.
    example: \\NASServer\Images and \\nasserver\images
With LR2 these appears in two different folders in the Folders-Navigator.
Now I have images on two separete Folder-structure on LR2
    example:
    \\NASServer\Images
    -2008
    -July
    - Macro
    - Portrait
    -August
    - Macro
    - Portrait
    \\nasserver\Images
    -2008
    -July
    - Macro
    - Portrait
    -August
    - Macro
    - Portrait
    Anyone else experienced this.
And any suggestion to how best fix it?
    Regards
    Bjorn

There are a lot of variations on this showing up espectially as regards editing in CS3. If you edit in CS3 at least in many cases the resulting import back into LR2 shows up in a separaet folder that is really the same folder. Sometimes it seems to have different case, but not always.
If it follows the trend, you will find you can remove (not delete) the photos from the duplicate folder, and synchronize the regular one and they come back in there. Though obviously with loss of any catalog records.
I have worked around this by defining CS3 as an external editor, once you do that, it seems to bring the photos back and stack into the same folder and not create this ghost folder.

My iphone 4 has become extremely sensitive i cant talk on the phone without putting calls on hold, mute or hanging up!! when i'm in a call it's like the screen has become super sensitive to touch! I tried putting on a screen protecter but this didnt work please help?

While on a call, the iPhone display should go black when lifted to your ear. Is this not happening or only happening intermittently?
Have you tried making calls without your silicone case on? Does this make any difference?
You could try updating or restoring the software to try to rule that out as a cause. If the issue remains after restoring then the issue is probably hardware related and may need to be serviced.

  • Problem in XI - JDBC (oracle) Scenario, case sensitive column name

I had a XI -> JDBC scenario, connecting to a SQL server, where the query was being generated using Message Mapping (XML SQL Format),
now the database has been migrated from SQL server to Oracle, and we are using the same XI scenario, but now the problem is, the query generated using message mapping doesnt work because it seems the query (UPDATE statement) requires the field name as having All capital letters, i mean the Column name in query to Oracle has become case sensitive,
    can u help me out

    Hi
Oracle doesnt have restriction that Query has to be in uppercase for any column. But it is good go use Upper case for the Query.
Use oracle editor to do the query if it is working fine and then use XML SQL in XI

  • Make material number in MM01 case sensitive

    Hi Experts,
I got an requirement like to make MM01 transaction while creating material number it has to accept both Lower and Upper Case..
Say for example : "a12"   as one material
                                  "A12" as another one material
    any suggestions please send.....
    Thanks.
    Preethi jose

First check conversion-exit of domain MATNR (something like MATN1) with Customizing behind, you will have to analyze your Customizing (and the list of extensions, solutions installed on your system) to find the actual field(s) which contains the external format of the material master id (e.g. MARA-MFRPN for a sample) AND look at table MATERIALID (domain MATNR_EXT is also not case sensitive), then you may, with a SSCR key for the object as it will be a change of the standard, change the domain(s) definition to allow lowercase. But consider before some problems like search help becoming case sensitive, it is usually (at least) not a good idea to have key fields case-sensitive...
If possible, my advice is to not make this change by a developement, but to look for Customizing, check

  • Create directory / object name must NOT be case sensitive

SQL Dev. 2.1 - the wizard, chosen from the left side navigator, submits a wrong create statement in which the object name becomes case-sensitive. This should not be so! Even if you write the new object name in small letters , the object name must end up in the data dictionary with capitals. kind regards Inger ([email protected])

Which wizard? If I use a create table wizard, for example, and enter the table in lower case, this is indeed stored in the DB as upper case, as you require.
Please provide more detail for your problem.

  • Operating system case-sensitivity

I'm new at DBA filed .I've read that while specifing filename in the parameter file , the operating system's case-sensitivity rules are applicable .If the operating system is case-sensitive , the filenames also become case-sensitive .
How i can know if the operating system i have is sensitive or not .
    Any explanation would be thankful.

Your sysadmin should be able to tell you this w.r.t your OS. Unix for eg. is case sensitive.
    Following eg is on solaris.
    $ ls tt
    tt
    $ ls TT
TT: No such file or directory
    $ ls Tt
Tt: No such file or directory

  • Changing case-sensitivity while upgrading?

The Macbook pro i recently inherited has a case-sensitive file system and I was hoping to change this by upgrading to Lion. So my question is, is it it possible to do this when upgrading to lion over the Mac store or do I need to get a solid copy of the OS?

Best to put a bootable backup/clone onto an ext FWHD formatted w/o case sensitivity, ensure that you can boot from it, and reverse the process. That should remove that from your machine. Installing Lion won't do the trick.

  • Hello. I keep my IPhoto library (about 90GB) on an external HD and am trying to back it up to another external drive. Both are formatted Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled). Recently, backup has failed from the start due to error 36. Howtoresolve?

Hello. I keep my iPhoto library (about 90GB) on an external HD and am trying to back it up to another external drive. Both are formatted Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled) and both check out when scanned with Disk Utility. Recently, backup has failed from the start due to error 36. Any ideas how to  resolve? Also, what's the maximum recommended size for an iPhoto library file? Thx!

Since you can't drag the library to the other EHD for the backup see if you can duplicate it (if you have enough room on the drive) by selecting it and typing Command+d (duplicate).
If you do rebuild the library without a backup and it goes awry you won't lose your photos but you may lose your orgnaizational efforts. So try the following:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library in the location of your choosing  based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
NOTE:  Fix 2 above might be the method you might want to try first with iPLM creating the new library on your second EHD. If it works that would get your backup copy on the second EHD at the same time as repairing it. If it does'nt work then go back to Fix 1.

  • I joined a website using an id with a name using small letters. Firefox has automatically put a capital in my id. How do I remove it? The website is case sensitive and won't allow me in with my id with an initial cap?

I joined a website with my id in all small letters. Firefox has automatically made it with an initial cap. The website is case sensitive and will not allow me in. How do I remove the automatically set id password and start over so that I may have access to that web site? Thanks.

I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in  mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.
I am starting to believe that Apple is Satan.

You can change the case sensitivity of the sparsebundle.. but I really doubt the error is real.
    See A8 here.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
The sparsebundle should have case sensitivity turned on.
I cannot even fathom how it could have changed.
Let me recommend before you start fooling around with the sparsebundle.
    Do a full network start.
Power everything off.. start up modem.. wait 2min.. power up the TC.. wait 2min.. power up any other network gear like switches.. wait..
Now power up the computer and try it.
If the error is the same.. I would do a factory reset of the TC.. give it all short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. Then reset TM .. see A4 in the same reference as above.. and do a verify of the backups.. A5 above and try the backup again..
    No luck..
Then erase the TC and start over.. it is sometimes necessary as TM does get itself in a knot.
