Authorization in IDES SPRO

My company purchased SAP.SAP Implementation is running on.
IDES is installed here but there is no authorization for configuration in SPRO.
I just want to know that whether authorization is given by my company to me
or for Authorization we (our Company) have to pay extra to the Implementation Organization.
Please give relevant data also.

Hi,
No extra money for Spro.
Tell your Basis person. Provide acces in authorzation.
In sur system execute Tcode : su01 enter the username in edit mode goto the Role tab. enclosed the below said role & save.
or
This user have all acees.
username : idadmin
password : ides
Sap_all
sap_new.

She already did. That was step-by-step. Well, what counts as step-by-step without copy/pasting a lot of documentation. And she gave you a very elegant solution, too. You should be able to implement this directly!

Workbench Request for changing the Analysis Authorizations Switch in SPRO

Hi Gurus,
While changing the Analysis Authorizations Switch in DEV(SPRO), its asking to create a work bench request.
so it means after creating a work bench request should we transport that particular work bench request to QA.
Please help with some suggestion.

Just to add to this... the same way you need to transport a role up the stack, you have to transport AA object up the stack.

Create Display Authorization Profile for SAP Transaction SPRO (IMG).

Dear All,
In my current implementation project there is an requirement to create display authorization profile for SPRO. I have tried a lot but was not able to do so.
Any one is having an experience in creating display profile for SPRO (IMG) ? If any one has worked on this issue then please guide me.

This is security related question. I am not security expert.
But you can check this, Include the following authorization objects in the profile and assign this profile to the target user.
S_IMG_ACTV
S_PROJECT
S_PROJ_AUT
S_PRO_AUTH
and assign activity = 03 (Display).

Hi,
Use the S_TABU_DIS and S_TABU_CLI authorization objects to assign the relevant authorization to the user.
If you have created an IMG project, you can use transaction PFCG to create a suitable authorization for this IMG project. In transaction PFCG, you have the option of assigning one or several IMG projects. The corresponding authorization profiles are then transferred and can be defined as required.
Create a new role for this in transaction PFCG. If you are processing the role, you can use the menu "Utilities -> Customizing authorizations" to assign the relevant IMG project and/or project views to the role. The role is then adjusted according to this selection.The user can then start the corresponding setting transaction from IMG.

When I add SPRO to the role, it DOES NOT add all the authorization for

Authorization Group in CV01n Document Data tab

Hi SAP Gurus,
I went on to Configure the Authorization groups at spro / Document Management / Approval Tab,
but the same is not appearing in CV01N create document, Basic data tab. Screen......
can any one explain how to configure this Authorization Group and make use of this Authorization Group
i tried in PFCG, at object C_DRAW_BGR, also but the authorization groups i have created is not displayed at all.
what is the Configuration missing and to work with Authorization groups.

Thanks for ur reply. i have created the authorization groups in SPRO at the approval Tab,
and also can see the Field Authorization Group in CV01N basic data Field but
By pressing F4 or searching i could not find my Auth groups created there,
Nor i could find them at PFCG, at C_DRAW_BGR objects, at BEGRU
where has my created Auth group gone,
please explain how to work with Auth groups. where and all it has to be assigned and linked.
How to use Authorization Groups for Digital signatures and restrict users For accessing Documents And Original files specifically.

Role for display Authorizations

Hi All,
We need to know if thre are any standard Roles available by which i can have all Display authorizations in Production system.
Currently we have many Custom roles and this thisng is really messed up in our organization. So i have suggested to Standardized the role related issues and starting with MM, i would like to know if in production we can have access with all Disply rights for all relevant authorizations along with SPRO display. Can anyone suggest something on this?
Also if we need to create some "Z" or "Y" role; please suggest how we can achieve it.

Hi Prashanth,
First identify all the transactions which you want to have to give display authorization.
Go to PFCG--> Enter All transactions which everyou want to give authorization for display.
Save.
Go to Authorization tab check for objects vreated for relevant transactions and provide display as activity in those objects.

Problem in BI 7 Authorization

Hi All,
We have upgraded our system on BI 7 and we are facing a problem with authorization.
In BW 3.5 a role has below characteristics and values:
Destination --> *
Region ---> 1
Area --> *
Subarea --> *
This means destination, area and sub area take any values under region 1.
Could anyone suggest how to incorporate this in BI 7.0 using analysis authorizations?

in BI 7.0 the authorization concept has changed.
New BI Authorizations set in SPRO (maintenance in RSECADMIN)
-> During technical upgrade, and if you used an authorization concept in BW3.x
switch back to obsolete Concept with RSR Authorization Objects)
-> Important: After technical upgrade switch back to the new Concept and see

T - code : SPRO_ADMIN problem

We are using the SAP ECC 6.0 insurance module .
I have problem in assigining authorization T- Code : SPRO . Atually i want to give the user to acess particular path
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide > SAP Insurance > Collections/Disbursements " but the user should not be able to acess
the remaining items in SPRO
I have tried to create the project from T-Code : SPRO_ADMIN , & have assigned this project to a role , but when we see by
login that all the contents inside the SPRO can be accessed by the user .
Below are the steps which have done for creation of Porject :
1. In the T-Code : SPRO_ADMIN , created the new project
2. Under the tab Scope , clicked on the Specify Scope & have given the path .
3. Then i saved it . & assigned this project to a role .
Kindly suugest how to resolve thi issue .

Most of the links from Spro navigates to transaction codes SM30/SM31 to maintain table entries. You need to check authorizaiton given on object S_TABU_DIS. Basically to minimize them to least acess, you need to trace and execute all the links/area to which you want to provide access.
However, ths doesn't guarantee that user might not get access to other nodes as tables are grouped + user might need access to other tables for performing other actions.

PO creation from PR only

Dear Guru,
I wan to restrict some useres for creating PO only from the PR. If i do this thru user authorization using EFB (SPRO-MATERIAL MANAGEMENT-PURCHASING-AUTHORIZATION MANAGEMENT - DEFINE AUTORIZATION FOR BUYER), I face the problem of getting the quantity field grey and unable to edit the quantity while ordering. I wan to change the quantity with restriction of PR number. This requirement is only for material PO. I have also tried this feature using Define Screen Layout at Document Level- but we cannot edit fields related to transaction code ME21N.

Hi,
Please provide access only to ME59.And if they need to change the order qty, then let them change in the base document ie PR after that convert in to PO thru ME59.
This will also help to avoid the manual intervention while creating PO.ie amending qty directly in PO.
Caution: Ensure to make the PR field as mandatory entry in ME59.

Storage Location check during 101

Hi folks,
I am facing a problem and need ur help...
Though this is a security related issues but it requires Functional help...
A user who does not have authorization for Storage Location ABC (M_MSEG_LGO) is executing MIGO and is being able to do GR(101) against STPO for ABC...
The system trace shows that only 2 objects are getting checked viz M_MSEG_BWE (Goods Receipt for Purchase Order: Movement Type) and M_MSEG_WWE (Goods Receipt for Purchase Order: Plant). There is no check for Storage Location in Purchase Order...
The S Loc is defined in the PO and during MIGO it is getting picked from there..
How can i restrict this guy from posting 101 for ABC??...
Pls help before i am thrown out...
PS: The Storage Location authorization (M_MSEG_LGO) is available to the user BUT for a different location. Also the storage location ABC is authorization relevant in SPRO...

pls check the user roles defined. From what you have written, it seems that the object M_MSEG_LGO is getting bypassed for some reason. Pls check all the other roles that this particular user is assigned to. And pls don't worry. There's no way you are going to be thrown out with so many experts around to help you out with a solution. I'm sure everyone will echo my view. Be patient and check out the roles. Revert back.

Number Ranges in Q.M

Dear Gurus,
We have two plants in our company code and we are implementing QM for both the plants.I have regarding number ranges--> Inspection Number Ranges for Inspection Characteristics,Number Ranges for Inspection Methods,Number Ranges for Inspection Plans,Number ranges for inspection lot..etc
My query is -->Are these number ranges maintained at client or plant level.I think its client,but no sure.How can define number for different plants for the all above mentioned .

Ram,
As per SAP standard Inspection lot number range we can not maintain plant wise.
Please follow following path to get idea:
SPRO --> Quality Management --> Quality Inspection --> Inspection lot creation --> Maintain Number ranges.
Here you would see this number range are stored in inspection lot origin, they apply to the entire client. So it would be applicable to client wise not plant wise.
So if you maintain number range for "01" like From 010000000000 to 019999999999, then this number range would be applicable to all plant of client for 01 origin.
If you still want to assign number range plant wise then you can maintain custom table for number range inspection type and plant wise, but to define number range externally plant wise is not advisable.

When trying to create a new JDBC Connection Pool in WebLogic using BEA Type 4 driver
for DB2, I get the following error:

The commit and rollback commands are not allowed on protected conversations.

Connection Pool to DB2 Database

I get this exception when I try to establish a connection to DB2 database through Sun One Web Server Connection Pool.
I am using db2java.zip and com.ibm.db2.jdbc.DB2SimpleDataSource
data source. Please help.
