Authorization Issue: Store says 2 Comps Authorized iTunes says 5 Comps
The Problem: When I log into my iTunes account and go to my Account Information, I see that I have 2 Computers Authorized. However, when I go to play a song that I have purchased, I get prompted to log into my account in order to authorize my computer to play content. When I log in, iTunes tells me that I have 5 out of 5 computers already authorized and I cannot authorize any more.
What I've done: I've deleted my SCInfo file as I've read in the troubleshooting guide. I have had Window's UAC setting turned off since day one of my Windows 7 Install, and I have verified that it is still turned off currently. I have also had this problem in the past numerous times and have only been able to get around this issue by reinstalling iTunes all together, and on one occasion I had to reinstall Windows all together.
I have bought my **** music, I just want to play the crap that I have legitimately purchased!! These kinds of consistent issues make me want to stop playing by the book. Or at the very least stop using the iTunes Store for my purchasing needs.
I have not been able to play some of my previously purchased songs in my iTunes library for a few months now. It then says that I need to authorize my computer, but an error message of 42408 pops up. How can i authorize my computer when it won't let me even do that to play songs, purchase new songs, or sync my iPod. The apple support people are of no help either. All they did was deauthorize all of my computers & now i can't reauthorize any of them. This problem ONLY started when i upgraded to the latest version of iTunes and they don't know how to fix it even though this is their product.

2 errors: "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable" and the sim says "searching" while iTunes says there is "No Sim installed" - but of course, there is! Any help please??
Hi Peter,
Thank you for the note - I have seen similar replies on other posting errors and I see how that could make sense. The thing is, my iPhone is not jailbroken - it is from an authorized distributor. However, when I told them about the "no service" problem on the sim, they were unable to assist. Then my phone messaged that an itunes restore was required - so I did that, several times, to the error message now noted on my post. I wonder if there is some other way to over-write this message? Thanks very much. -

How does one fix the problem of iTunes saying my computer is not authorized to play songs I've recently purchased, even though I continue to sign in for authorization? This is bullcrap.
Okay, that sounds like the dodgy tracks have been getting damaged during the download.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -
I purchased an album on iTunes on my computer, and one of the songs will not play. Itunes says that I need to authorize my computer to play it, but it is authorized. What do i do?
If you live in a Region that allows re-downloading Music...
Delete the Song(s) and re-download...

I need help in resolving a problem that prevents me from accessing the iTunes store. Message reads " iTunes cannot contact the iTunes store" and also says that my laptop is no longer authorized to access my account. Help!
Go up to the top of your screen on iTunes and click on 'Store'. Then go down to 'Authorize This Computer'. That should cover part of it unless you've already authorized a bunch of other computers to use your account. If that's the case, you'll have to go to one of those computers and click the button just below it to 'deauthorize your account' from that computer. If you're not able to access the store, check your internet connection to make sure you are connected. Hope this helps.. good luck!

iTunes says that my computer is not authorized.
I recently installed a new computer.
How do I authorize it?If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

iTunes says computer not authorized. When I try to authorize computer it says it is already authorized but will not play song. Note. Library was moved from PC to MAC. I am signed in to Itunes with the Apple ID created on the old computer which is different than the Apple ID used to set up the MAC.
I'm experiencing the same thing under iTunes 11.1.1:
iTunes says the computer is not authorized, prompts me to authorize
I enter my credentials, iTunes says computer is already authorized
When I attempt to play song, iTunes starts at bullet point 1 above over again.
My attempted fixes:
I tried everything in this support document, to no avail: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389 (Note: I cannot find a SC Info folder on my Mac)
Deauthorize and then reauthorize computer
Delete song and try to redownload from iTunes store - there's only a button that says 'purchased' with no option to redownload it
Note: I am using only one iTunes account, and I double checked the song info - I'm authorizing the correct account - 12 songs from the same album purchased at the same time play fine. As does the song in question - from the finder. Only iTunes stubbornly refuses to play it.
The most odd thing is that iTunes music is DRM free - the song in question was purchased only a few months ago. Thus there's no need to authorize the computer to play it.
I was hoping that iTunes 11.1.1 would cure it - no dice. -
When i try to sync my iphone 5c to my itunes it says my computer is not authorized. I've gone through the authorize steps and restarted my computer. It says "already authorized," yet the phone still won't sync saying, "computer unauthorized."
