Authorization of the computer

I want to re-"authorize" my computer with my Adobe ID.  I'm using the latest ver. of Adobe editions (1.7.xxx)  When I go : "library > authorize computer" all it does is come up with an old e-mail address I first used.  I see no option or choice that can be selected  to change it.   When I go on-line I don't see an option under my Adobe account to change anything.   All the Adobe support info (slim and useless at best) is no assist.   I have over $4k worth of technical ref info on this computer and it will be stuck there unless I can enable the Adobe ID.   I even called their tech support and they were useless as well.  ($39 not well spent).  Any clues ??

Don't take my word for it but deauthorize that computer (ctrl+shift+d) - adobe editions will then shut-down.
Re-open Editions, and it should prompt you to enter your info in.

  • I had to replace my hard drive and memory on my laptop. Couldn't de-authorize because the computer was corrupted but now I have two authorized computers but it's the same laptop. How do I get my old iTunes library back?

Basically I want the library from my old memory drive, which was authorized on my "first" computer. If I de-authorize both computers (even if it's really the same laptop, different hard drive) can I get library from both? How does this work? Help!

The apps that you had will be listed in your purchase history if you login to your account in iTunes on your computer - the list isn't very user friendly though as it's listed by date order and will include all app updates that you've downloaded (so an app will appear multiple times if you've downloaded it's updates). You can re-download apps, though it's a manual process as you need to find them yourself in the app store : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 .
If the apps are in your iTunes library then the restore might work - a backup contains app data/settings, but not the app itself, so without the app available to it the restore can't install the app and therefore it's content.

I also had a few "Evil Spirits" the first couple of times using Multiple Displays.
If you are using Multiple Displays, the trick here is that there are two preference panels one for the iMac and one the NTSC/PAL for the other display. If you want all the windows in the larger 20" display go to the NTSC/PAL Preference panel and click "Gather Windows" now you should have all on that Display. Also be sure to go to the iMac Preference panel and "Gather Windows" back to iMac befor turning off or disconnecting the other display.
Let me know if that helped?
P.S. For more help you can also click the purple ? bubble at the bottom/right side of the display preference panels.

the itunes says that it knows that there isan ipod there, but it doesnt recognize it. I have reset the ipod, restarted my computer, and reinstalled itunes.
Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components (Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, etc ...) and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

  • 'Problems saing the authorization information on the computer'

Hello, I have a problem with the iTunes Store.
the thing is that when I try to download a song, search for purchases, give authorization to the computer, or anything related to the iTunes Store, the itunes keeps sending me the same message; "'Problemas saving the authorization information on the computer' Try reinstalling iTunes or repairing it".
And, after erasing it and instaling it 4 times, the same problem appears.
The problem is that I purchased 2 songs and I can't listen to them, although the iTunes tells me that all the purchases has been finished, and I lost the money.
Anybody knows what can I do?
    Thanks anyway for reading.
PS: Sorry if my english is to hard of understanding, I'm from Chile.

    Please try this:

It seems to do with deleting the Shared folder under the Users directory.

  • My computer died and I have a new one. How do i Authorize my new computer to synch the content of my iPod?

My computer died and I have a new one. How do i Authorize my new computer to synch the content of my iPod?

    Authorization
iTunes Store- Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

  • Itunes says my new laptop (windows 8) isn't authorized to play some of the purchased songs that are already on my iphone (I previously synced it with my old laptop).  It says it will delete them from the phone unless I authorize the computer.

This results in an endless loop where I authorize it, and then get the same warning.  I have already tried deauthorizing all the computers on the account, and then reauthorizing the new one yet the problem persists.  Also, only three devices are associated with the account.  I can't find the solution anywhere so help will be welcomed.  All songs were purchased through the itunes store and it appears to be older ones that are targeted for deletion; however, these older ones are still available for purchase in the itunes store so that's not the problem.  Thanks.

    Hello, ted_marx38.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The most common cause for this issue would be media present that is purchased with another Apple ID.  When prompted to authorize the computer it may show a different Apple ID.  If this is the case, the computer will need to be authorized for this Apple ID.  The article below will walk you through the process of verifying if that is the case or correcting the issue if not.

  • ITunes asks me to authorize my computer but after I do, when syncing my iPhone, it wants me to authorize the computer

I want to sync my stuff on iTunes from my iPhone 4S, (iOS version 7.0.4) but it wants me to authorize my computer. I did that and it said this computer is already authorized. When I try to sync the iPhone again, it said the computer is no longer authorized for purchaced items that are in this iPhone. It proceeds to intruct me on how to authorize the computer. I authorized the computer 7 times and the error shows up all the time. I even restarted iTunes (losing what I edited) and it still did not work. Why?

  • My iPhone Apple ID is not the same as my home computer Apple ID. This seems to cause iTunes to tell me that certain purchases can't be synced, reason unauthorized. The authorize function under Store says that the computer is authorized. What to do to sync

The home computer iTunes will not let me sync certain apps bought directly from iTunes with the iPhone. The two ID's (home Apple id and iPhone id) are not identical. The Store 'Authorize' function tells me that the computer is authorized. How do I get all apps to sync across all devices (I also have an iPad). Thanks.

you need to be signed in on both devices to teh apple id that the apps were bought on to sign out on the device go to settings>store >tap on apple id >choose sign out>tap on sign in, to sign out on the comp click on stre at top>sign out >sign back in with the correct apple id

  • HT1420 I'm trying to authorize a new computer with an itune account, but my the computer statea that I have too many devices authorized. I only have 2 computers in my possession now. How can I deauthorize computer I don't have anymore without deauthorizin

I have recently purchased a new lap top. Both my wife and I share our Itune music. When I purchesed the computer I was able to authorize my itunes account on it and move my purchaced music over from my iphone. However, I was not able to move my wifes music over because she has too many devices authorized under her account. Most of those computers are no longer in our possession and have been thrown out. How can she deauthorzise computer we don't have in our possession anymore without deauthorizing them all?

Authorizing deauthorizing has NO effect at all on your itunes library.  You lose nothing.
You should also alwasy have a backup copy.
    You MUST deauthorize all.
You have the only answer there is.

  • My computer is authorized to play purchases but for one of the songs I recently purchased I keep getting prompted to authorize the computer to play the song. How do I fix this?

I recently purchased a song on my iphone. When I synced my phone to my computer, I was prompted to authorize the computer to play the song, which I did. It did not compute and thus when I try to play the song in iTunes on my Macbook Pro, I keep getting prompted to authorize the computer. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it? I also cannot play the song now from my iPhone. I even tried re-downloading it from the iTunes store and that did not help.

That suggests the track is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • I just upgraded to the iphone 5S and I can no longer sync to the AUTHORIZED computer.  I keep getting a message that the computer is not authorized.  So I click authorize, put my password in and get the message that this computer is now authorized.

After verifying that the computer is authorize, I hit sync and after a few minutes it I get the message that the iphone cannot be synced because the computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iphone.  Why????

  • TS1424 I can't authorize my new computer! There is no menu under "Store" it just sends me to the store. My old computer's dead! HELP!

Okay. My old laptop died. I didn't use iTunes much on it but I had it and I'd authorized that and my iPhone. On my account it showed the old computer and my iPhone as Authorized.
I went to the support to find out how to authorize this computer when I could not download the albums I bought. The support tab told me to open the Store menu in iTunes and choose to authorize the computer on its menu.
Trouble is, there is no "Store" menu. Clicking on Store takes me to a page that's mostly trying to sell me albums I never heard of in genres I don't like and has a tiny little section off to the side where I can check my account, redeem, look at what I purchased and something else but not "authorize new computer."
My old computer is toast. It's dead. I can't access iTunes through it. On the new one I have iTunes downloaded for the 64 bit version and I've got Windows 7.
I need to know why I don't have that menu or that option and how I can authorize this computer without it.

    Hello robertsloan2,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are attempting to access the "Store" menu, however it sounds like your menubar is not visible. The following article outlines how to show the menubar:
iTunes: Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5610
Once displayed, you'll see the "Store" menu with the "Authorize this computer" option.

  • I successfully transferred my itunes to another PC, when I click on most (not all) songs, it tells me to authorize the computer, I authorize it, it says this computer is already authorized, but when i click on a song, it tells me to authorize again. help

I successfully transferred my itunes to another PC, when I click on most (not all) songs, it tells me to authorize the computer, I authorize it, it says this computer is already authorized, but when i click on a song, it tells me to authorize again. help

Are the songs authorised to the same account?
Often people change their e-mail address over time, and also decide to set up new iTunes account names using that e-mail.  You can (and should) continue to use an old e-mail address as your account name.  Then you don't run into the issue of having different songs authorised to different accounts.
To check the authorised account for the song, click "Get info" on the song name in iTunes.  It will show the account name in the Summary panel.
If you have set up multiple accounts, log into each one, and burn the songs to CD as audio tracks (i.e. like a normal CD, not a data CD).  You can then re-import the files into iTunes without the authorisation embedded into the song.

  • When syncing apps, window says authorize this computer.  When I authorize it says computer already authoized.  Then the window reappears and sync does not continue.

When syncing app, a window pops up saying to authorize this computer,  When I authorize the computer, I am told it already is authorized.  Then the same window pops up again.  Is there a cache that can be emptied or what can I do to sync my ipad.  Thanks

Deauthorizing won't delete anything, and all your purchased content is safe.  You will just have to reauthorize any of the other computers that get deauthorized along with your computers old machine id.
To get your purchased content back on that computer, just use iTunes to redownload it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US).  Of course, music you ripped from CD or got from another source you'll need to copy those files back over.
