Authorization problem in Sneak preview 2004s ABAP version

Hi all,
I have successfully downloaded the sneak preview 2004s ABAP version, I hv created the client 001 for BI. when I try to create DataSource or Transformations system saying You have no authorization for DataSource and when i try to create infosource, it is saying You are not authorized to display the InfoSource,but system allow me to created info cube.
Any in puts plz.

I run SE80 trx, i create a simple WD application and a view. I select the view, then and i have three "frames" (from the left):
- The standard SE80 tree
- In the "layout" tab of the WD application, i have the browser preview (but it shows the standard IE error page) and a window with the UI of the windows, designed in a tree (rootuielementcontainer).
But nothing about view designer.
I have sapgui 6.40 patch lev.20

Hi SDN Members,
yesterday I've installed my copy of NetWeaver Sneak Preview 2004s ABAP. The installation runns smoothly. Licence installation did not worked through transaction SLICENSE. So I logged on as User nspadm and did it on command line. But now to my problem: I can't logon with language "DE". I get the error "Select one of the installed languages". I've checked Transaction SMLT and German looks like English.

hello Gregor,
there is the 'zcsa/installed_languages' parameter in the profile (NSP_DVEBMGS00_<hostname>) set to 'E'. If you'd like to run your Sneak Preview in German language you have to remove the parameter from the profile and then restart the system.

Hi,
I'm afraid this problem was never resolved. I'm away for two weeks but plan to get to the bottom of this error when I return ( 2nd July). It may be worth posting it again and hope you have better luck than me. Be sure to state that you have checked the list of system requirements - will save some time.

View designer in Sneak Preview 2004s Abap

Hi to all,
just a short question.
The view designer with all UI elements (standard simple, standard complex & Standard container category) is avaiable in Sneak Preview NW 2004s Abap ?
If not (because i cannot find it), can i install it as a separated package (if yes,where i can download it)? Or the latest version of the NW Sneak preview 2004s (SP8)already contains it ??

Im using j2sdk1.4.2_09.
Ive installed MS Lookback adapter and updated host file with IP address. Host settings are:
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.0.1 CFLAPTOP
Users all have admin authorization
Set environment Variables JAVA_HOME to C:\j2sdk1.4.2_09
 PATH to C:\j2sdk1.4.2_09\bin
Windows XP 2003 (SP2)
Ports 3201, 3601 and 50000 to 50030 are free.

Problem in Uninstalling SAP ABAP sneak preview 2004

Hello ,I am trying to uninstall the SAP ABAP sneak preview 2004.but the main problem is that i have forgot the DB manager (DBM operator) and CONTROL passwords. is there any chance to uninstall with out giving passwords or to retreive the passwords ?

If you installed it on an XP machine, restore the system back to the date and delete all related folders.

ABAP Unit on ABAP Sneak Preview 2004s

I am trying to look at ABAP Unit within ABAP Sneak Preview 2004s. Upon trying I get a message 'The system settings prevent the use of unit tests in this client'. I have gone to transaction SAUNIT_CLIENT_SETUP but it will not allow me to uncheck 'Prohibit Unit Tests' option.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like to look at this and demo to the group as our 'real' ECC6 environment will not be available for some time.

Hi Glenn, I have the same preview and when I run the tcode it gives me a screen, where the checkbox(prohibit unit test) is already unchecked. All is greyed out, but there is a change mode icon on the application toolbar. When I click this button it is allowing me to change the value. What client are you working in, I'm working in client 001.

I've installed the same version.
After configuring the Netweaver Developer Studio (+ searching for the config) and trying to deploy a webdynpro application I was asked for an SDM password (which should be the default password from the install "abcd1234" unless you've changed it of course)
After entering it I was able to deploy it.
In other words can you check if your config settings in the Netweaver Developer Studio are correct? I cannot check now unfortunantly.

Sneak Preview NW2004s ABAP TMS Error

Hello,
I've installed the Sneak Preview NW2004s ABAP Preview. I've changed the default language to german. When I now try to import a transport request via TMS I get the following error "Wählen Sie eine der installierten Sprachen aus" which means "select on of the installed languages" in english. Any idea? The importqueue in the TMS shows a red flash.

First define the STMS in your ABAP server. Overview -> Transport Routes. Here you can define your Transport routes. Do this after changing your language to the one u used during your Installation!

CAF Error - Sneak Preview 2004s SPS9

I have just installed the Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 2004s SPS9. While trying to work with the CAF tools I am seeing the following errors:

    at com.sap.engine.lib.x ml.parser.XMLParser.scanDocument(XMLParser.java:2792)
After digging around in the forums I was able to find a couple of SAP Notes(990460, 970429, 950429) that talk about the issues when upgrading to SP9.
My problem is that I have never installed or upgraded prior versions. This is a fresh install. Following the SAP notes I was able to undeploy the CAF components. Now how do I redeploy them without having to uninstall and reinstall the entire AppServer? Or is there a better workaround/solution to this problem?

Problem with SPS 9
This problem came with SP8. You can check sap note: 954035.
Redeploy cafeugpuidtcons and cafeugpui~actions and try to edit objects again.
One week ago I experienced this problem too. Redeployment of these components did not help and I redeployed all the gp UI components. Finally it helped.
I am going to try this... Let me know if it helps u and award points if it does.I have to find how to redeploy..

Sneak Preview Update: ABAP Edition just released!!

I know you've all been waiting a long time for this... So, without further ado, I am very please to (finally) announce the arrival of the Sneak Preview ABAP Edition on SDN!!
For the ABAP edition (Windows OS, that is), you need to download two big files - the ABAP installation (1.25GB) and the SAPGUI (500MB). I am bit confused about the contents of the download though!!! Your announcement says it is ABAP only, but download page description says it also includes Java Engine and Developer Studio.
So....does it mean this Web AS download package consists of both ABAP and Java Stacks with Developer Studio?
I understand this download package is not a full edition (meaning...it does not include EP, XI, BI etc components). But is it a full Web AS (i.e., AS with both ABAP and Java Stacks).
I would greatly appreciate your clarification.

Installation Problem with Sneak Preview SP16

Hi folks,
as I was trying to install Sneak Preview NW04 SP16 Full Java version, I am facing a prbolem as below.
As a first step to install, when I clicked the SAPinst.exe, I got a screen whenin it asked me to enter the host name and the TCP/IP port to log on, with the default host and port filled in as "localhost", "21212" respectively. I accepted the above default values and clicked on the logon button. Then, the next screen popped up with licence agreement, and once I clicked on "I agree" button, I got the following error and could not proceed further.
"An error occurred during the installation of component SAP NetWeaver Sneak Preview '04 Support Release 1 > Migration - Target System installation. Press the log view button to get extended error information or press OK button to terminate the installation. Log files are written to C:\PROGRA~1\SAPINS~1\MW04SR1\WEBAS_~1\ONE_HOST".
In the log browser, which popped up later, I have noted the following three warnings.

hi Vicky,
Do you have admin rights to install? Access denied to Registry Key Editor means you don't have access permissions to open the registry.
you should be a part of administrator group to run the installation.

Problems installing SAP NetWeaver 2004 trial version from book DVD

Hi
I'm trying to install netweaver trial version from the dvd in Horst Keller's book ABAP Objects but am having problems. I have tried to uninstall and start again but I keep getting the message below. Any suggestions welcome as I'm new to all this.

Hello Sharon,
I don't know this book you've mentioned, but perhaps it's the same trail version as you can download from SAP.
To uninstall it please go through the steps provided in the first part of the following site --> link
Then try to delete the D:SAPNSP-folder again.
Also please check your services-file under C:WINDOWSsystem32driversetc that there aren't any entries like NSP left.
