Authorization setting for "Grant Assignment" tab in Student Master data
Hi,
I want to create a role to give "Display only" right for the "Grant Assignment" tab in Student Master Data. I was trying to exclude 1324 BP Field Group from BP_BUPA_FDG but nothing happened. Does anyone has a solution for this? Thanks.
You can hide the fields from GMS101 t-code.

Have problem about grant assignment in Student Master Data
have problem about grant assignment in Student Master Data
i want to change grant detail in Student Master Data when i choose disbursement type to Pay Fixed Amount
and then go to Grant Evaluation Run it have result
But when i choose another disbursement type such as
1. Pay Up To a Certain Percentge
2. Pay Certain Percentage Up to a Certain Amount
3. Pay Up to a Certain Amount
and go to run Grant Evaluation it can run but not have result
I need help T_T i don't know why i can't change or i miss somethinghello experts,
Our problem is still not fixed, but we have contacted SAP to have a look at this problem. In the mean time we have created a new way to calculate the grants by doing no check at all, because our client don't want to have prerequisites yet.
Therefor we made a custom function module from PMIQBP_GR_COND_EVALT_01. If the boolean ev_xok is true the system will calculate and post the grant amount.
Good luck and I'll keep you posted.

You can run a quick check using the below steps:
1. Check in backend whether there is any authorisation errors... you may use transactions SU53 or ST22 for any ABAP errors
2. Also check in NWA -> log viewer -> last 24 hours log for the particular user to see any java related issues.

Authorization checks for bank account number in vendor master
I am trying to find a way to set up authorization checks for specific fields in the vendor master: LFBK-BANKL, LFBK-BANKN, LFBK-EBPP_ACCNAME and LFBK-EBPP_ACCNAME. I am tring to set ip up so that if you have access to transactions FK03 or XK03, you can view vendor master data except for the above fields.
Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
-PeruHI Peru,
To supress a field in FK03 u will have to check
Financial Accounting (New)>Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable>Vendor Accounts>Master Data>Preparations for Creating Vendor Master Data-->Define Screen Layout per Activity (Vendors)
in that Display Vendor (Accounting) for FK03 and Display vendor (centrally) for Xk03
But there bank account no is not there.
Moreover there r no authorization objects for all the fields that u gave.
So try creating screen variant/ transaction variant in SHD0.

Defination of Department to assign in Cost Center Master Data
Hi Experts,
Can you anyone please suggest me reg, "Defination of Department to assign in Cost Center Master Data".
because, My client needs Department wise Cost Centers balance.
Pls explain in detail..
Thanks in advance..
Regards,
Balaji BhonsleIn my (4.7) version there is a field for "Department". This field is nothing more than a text field. You can populate it with whatever you wish and use that field in a variety of reports. One use would be to enter the legacy department number when going live. Another would be to group several cost centers in some desired way. However, if you are looking to group cost centers, the cost center grouping as previously suggested is a far superior choice normally since you can create many different groups whereas this field is limited to just one choice. Another grouping available for reports is the Category, which is a one letter designation. Be careful with this though, because it may be used to drive functionality as well. Like P in my category implementation means "Production" and thus allows labor activities as a feature.
I hope this helps. -

No G/L account selected for Asset Account in Business Partner Master Data
Hi All,
When i tried to raise A/P invoice for an Asset Item the system is raised the following error" why?
" No G/L account is selected for Asset Account in Business Partner master data "
thanks
SV Reddyhi Giri,
When you choose from list against the Asset Account in the business partner master data it is only displaying the Trade Creditors Account domestic and foreign acounts only. which one to choose in this case? i presume trade creditors account is the one to choose. but what is the logic for asset items to choose this Trade Creditors Account? Or else can we create a separate control account for purchasing the Asset items? what is the logic again here choosing a separate account through option create new ?
thanks

Then what are trying to get into the field with out a source field. How do you want to fill the value if you dont have mat_plant - i mean which of 100 values of matplant and attribute values should be populated. -
Authorizations setting for running the process chain
Hai
Iam planning to run the process chain for loading the data into ODS. But i dont have authorization for it.
so what are the authorizations i need to run the process chain in my system. And how can i set all those authorizations to my user-id. I have all authorization rights .
Pls let me knw
kumarHi,
Authorizations for Process Chains
Use
You use authorization checks in process chain maintenance to lock the process chain, and the processes of the chain, against actions by unauthorized users.
· You control whether a user is allowed to perform specific activities.
· You control whether a user is allowed to schedule the processes in a chain.
The authorization check for the processes in a chain runs when the system performs the check. This takes place upon scheduling or during synchronous execution. The check is performed in display mode. The check is performed for each user that schedules the chain; it is not performed for the user who executes the chain. The user who executes the chain is usually the BI background user. The BI background user automatically has the required authorizations for executing all BI process types. In attribute maintenance for the process chain, you can determine the user who is to execute the process chain.
See also: Display/Maintenance of Process Chain Attributes ® Execution User.
Features
For the administration processes that are bundled in a process chain, you require authorization for authorization object S_RS_ADMWB.
To work with process chains, you require authorization for authorization object S_RS_PC. You use this authorization object to determine whether process chains can be displayed, changed or executed, and whether logs can be deleted. You can use the name of the process chain as the basis for the restriction, or restrict authorizations to chains using the application components to which they are assigned.
Display/Maintain Process Chain Attributes
Use
You can display technical attributes, display or create documentation for a process chain, and determine the response of process chains during execution.
Features
You can display or maintain the following attributes for a process chain:
Process Chain ® Attribute ® ...
Information
Description
( Rename)
You can change the name of the process chain.
Display Components
Display components are the evaluation criterion in the process chain maintenance. Assigning the process chains to display components makes it easier to access the chain you want.
To create a new display component, choose Assign Display Components in the input help window and assign a technical name and description for the display component in the Display Grouping dialog box that appears.
Documents
You can create and display documents for a process chain.
For more information, see Documents.
Last Changed By
Displays the technical attributes of the process chain:
· When it was last changed and who by
· When it was last activated and who by
· Object directory entry
Evaluation of Process Status
If you set this indicator, all the incorrect processes in this chain and in the overall status of the run are evaluated as successful; if you have scheduled a successor process upon error or always.
The indicator is relevant when using metachains: Errors in the processes of the subchains can be evaluated as unimportant for the metachain run. The subchain is evaluated as successful, despite errors in such processes of the subchain. If, in the metachain, the successor of the subchain is scheduled upon success, the metachain run continues despite errors in unimportant processes of the subchain.
Mailing and alerting are not affected by this indicator and are still triggered for incorrect processes if they have an upon error successor.
Polling Indicator
With this indicator you can control the response of the main process for distributed processes. Distributed processes, such as the load process, are characterized as having different work processes involved in specific tasks.
With the polling indicator you determine whether the main process needs to be kept until the actual process has ended.
By selecting the indicator:
- A high level of process security is guaranteed, and
- External scheduling tools can be provided with the status of the distributed processes.
However, the system uses more resources; and a background process is required.
Monitoring
With the indicator in the dialog box Remove Chain from Automatic Monitoring?, you can specify that a process chain be removed from the automatic monitoring using CCMS.
By default CCMS switches on the automatic process chain monitoring.
For more information about the CCMS context Process Chains, see the section BW Monitor in CCMS.
Alerting
You can send alerts using alert management when errors occur in a process chain.
For more information, see Send Alerts for Process Chains.
Background Server
You can specify here on which server or server group all of the jobs of a chain are scheduled. If you do not make an entry, the background management distributes the jobs between the available servers.
Processing Client
If you use process chains in a client-dependent application, you can determine here in which client the chain is to be used. You can only display, edit, schedule or execute the chain in this client.
If you do not maintain this attribute, you can display, edit, schedule or execute the process chain in all clients.
Process variants of type General Services that are contained in a process chain with this attribute set will only be displayed in the specified client.
This attribute is transported. You can change it by specifying an import client during import. You must create a destination to the client set here in the target system for the import post processing (transaction RSTPRFC) The chain is activated after import and scheduled, if necessary, in this client.
Execution User
In the standard setting a BI background user executes the process chain (BWREMOTE).
You can change the default setting so that you can see the user that executes the process chain and therefore the processes, in the Job Overview. You can select the current dialog user who schedules the process chain job, or specify a different user.
The setting is transported.
The BI background user has all the necessary authorizations to execute all BI process types. Other users must assign themselves these authorizations so that authorization errors do not occur during processing.
Job Priority
You use this attribute to set the job priority for all of the jobs in a process chain.

Field selection for Account Assignment Tab in PR
I set up my own field selection key where only storage location can be changed after release.
But when I do the test, I found that not only the storage location field but also all the fields in Account Assignment Tab can be changed!!! (Like cost center, profit center and GL account etc)
So, please help me to control the fields in Account Assignment Tab. I can't find related setting.
Thanks a lot.You guys misunderstood.
Here's my business flow:
I enter PR with account assignment K, input cost center and then save.
After PR is released, there's only storage location can be changed.
So I set up my own field seletion key in which I set storage location as optional, and other fields as display.
But when I use ME52N to check my released PR, not only storage location but also all the fields in Account Assignment Tab can be changed!
I can't find the corresbonding setting for cost center or GL account in "Define Screen Layout at Document Level".
I can't use OME9 either, because once I set cost center as display, I have no change to enter even if I use ME51N.
Sorry I didn't make myself clear enough. Hope you understand now and please help me to solve it. Thanks a lot.

Best tool for Inverse Telecining and deinterlacing ?
I have very limited experience in encoding videos before. Recently I'm trying to transcode a DVD into H.264 with x264. All the VOB files are dumped already. As for the video part, I've decided to do it this way : mkfifo TEMP.y4m x264 OPTIONS -o OUTPU

Editing a Journal in iPhoto on iPad2
Using the Journal with my iPad2 in iPhoto, can I change the order of photos during edit? By this I mean other than the obvious way of re-sizing them. There is a randomness to that method that I would like to not have to deal with.

I have images that are the same size and resolution. They look the same size in Photoshop. When I "place" them in InDesign, however, one is the size it should be and the other is not (it gets smaller). Also, this is happening again with another image
