Authorizations for Work books in BI7

Hi BW Experts,
I have created a work book by using BI7,and the requirement is to give authorizations to diffrent users to access that work book.I have tried a lot by using diffrent methods.
Could any body can suggest me how to proceed.

Hi,
Assigning workbook to the user role:
Goto User Role > select Menu tab(Change mode)>Seelct +Report icon -->Select Radio button BW Report --> Enter your workbook technical name here(Ex:4E9QCMIXFMRS71K9Z0TP7F4T7). Finally check it in user role.

Save Workbook in end User Favorites

Sharma,
Its better to collect all queries of a Infoprovider in a single request as u can avoid locking of dependent objects in different requests..Migrating workbooks would be tricky if u have any macros.Have a look at below links on migrating front-end objects

How to inser queries in work book in BI7

Can you please explain the steps to insert queries in different worksheets in BI7 Bex Analyser?

Hi,
Follow the below steps to insert multiple queries in one work book.
1. First run one query in analyzer, once you get the output just click on Design mode.
2. Place the cursor where ever you want to insert new query and click on Analysis Grid.
3. Once Analysis Grid inserted in desired cell, By double clicking on analysis grid goto properties-->Create Data provider from General tab.
4.To Assign query to this analysis grid click on Assign Query / Query View
5.Select new query from the new dialog box and click on Open
7. Click again OK on the properties screen.
6.To refresh workbook on open select "Refresh Workbook on Open" option from workbook settings.

Authorization for Work center, logical links and components

Hi Gurus,
Can authorization be given to Work centers, logical links and components.

It can be done using Authorization object UIU_COMP. it has 3 fields :
Component Name
Component Window Name
Inbound Plug
Note : You can maintain authorizations based on components, WC pages, Direct links groups and direct links but not on views.
Authorization object for direct links : C_LL_TGT which has 2 field : Logical Link Type and Link Parameter

Authorization for work center /quick create links

Hi all;
I need nondisplay of bupa details:
no Masterdata (no authorization to search/display/create any BUPA), no workcenter, no quickcreate links.
the problem is I have one CRM Webclient Business Role and I should manage this with 2 different pfcg role :
One of them should use workcenter and quick create links but the other should not see them.
I have handled not to search/display/create any BUPA via authorization object but
not to display workcenter and quick create link I need another authorization object..
Is there anybody who knows how can it be done by pfcg role ?

Broadcasting a Work book in BI 7

I am trying to Broadcast a work book in BI7. I have set up every thing like Precal server ..etc and all running fine. But the work book received by the recipient is having empty data . But if I run the work book from BEX analyzer , the report I having data .
Please suggest where I am missing any thing in the setup
This broadcasting was working fine before we move to BI7.0(in 3.5 they were fine)

Data Authorization for info-objects

Dear Experts,
We have designed a query in costing displaying the plan and actual costs by cost center. Our requirement is that that users shoul be able to see only those cost centers in the query which are relevant to them? How can I acheive this without creating multiple queries?. Is there any authorizatin abject that I can use for this purpose?

Authorizations for working with individual InfoObjects and their subobjects.
Until Release 3.0A, only general authorization protection was possible using authorization object S_RS_ADMWB. General authorization protection for InfoObjects still works as in the past. Special protection using S_RS_IOBJ is only used if there is no authorization for S_RS_ADMWB-IOBJ.

Work book authorizations

Hi Experts,
I need a help in work book auth. Currently we are in BI7. We have created roles and assigned to respective users.Now users are able to access(Open) work books as per their authorization. But they are unable refresh work book and navigate any of the Bex options.When they click on "change variable values ", system saying that No authorization.
Could you please let me know how to enable users to refresh work book( to re-run different selections, perform bex options like swap ,filter..etc)?

Work book size increased by 4 times after migrating from BW3.5 to BI7

our client runs the report using BI web report and exports to excel sheet.
she asks us to investigate why the size of the work book isincreased by 4 times after migrating from BW3.5 to BI7.

Why authorization for cost center groups does not worked ?

hello all,
I would like to give authorization for a CO report (S_ALR_87013625) based on authorization values : cost center groups.
But, unfortunately, it doesn't work. I get a message : No authorization for x of x read records.
Is it only possible to give authorization on standard hierarchy and cost center ?
