Authorized new computer but music not appearing

I have my main computer with all the songs and video on it. I just downloaded the same i-tunes version on a new laptop and authorized it successfully, but I still don't see any of my library anywhere.

Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer.

I am trying to open up my iTunes onto our new computer but do not remember my answers to the security questions. The e-mail verification is being sent to an outdate e-mail address I no longer have access to. I updated the e-mail address in my iTunes account but it will not send it to the updated e-mail. Is there any way I can fix this?

  • Have purchased a new computer but can not install elements 12 since it has been installed on old laptop.  Is there a small fee to be able to do this.  Never installed the video editing portion, can this be installed with no problem?

Have purchased a new computer but can not install elements 12 since it has been installed on an older laptop.  This is a one time user program, is there a code that can be put in or a small fee to pay to be able to use the program again.  Never installed the video editing and hoping this can be installed with no problem.

If the laptop is still connected Launch Elements in Expert Mode. Go to the help menu and sign-out. That will deactivate usage on the laptop.

  • My iPhone is not showing as a device  in the itunes window. I authorized the computer but still not showinh

I am unable to see my iPhone in the itunes window. I authorized the computer but it still will not show. Under devices it is not listed. Any suggestions?

You do see the devices heading on the left sidebar? If you don't see the sidebar, go to View>Show sidebar in the iTunes menu and then check to see if the device appears.
If that isn't the problem, go through the troubleshooting steps. It could be the Apple Mobile Device Service issue.

  • Authorized my new laptop but music not showing up??

My new laptop is authorized and is 5 of 5 authorized computers.  All others are working fine, but new computer will not display purchased items in library so I can listen on new computer.

I received a reply to the e-mail that I sent.  The support person basically just had me redownload the songs.
"My name is xxx here from the iTunes Store.  I understand  that that you can not see your purchases in your library,  I'm sure you're looking forward to resolving this issue, and I'll be happy to help you today.
I was able to post a new copy of the "Order Number Here" to your xxx account, so that you can try downloading it once again. When you are ready, please follow these steps to initiate the download:"
When I restarted iTunes, the songs automatically downloaded again and now show in my "Library".  I admit that I was a little annoyed by the following comment by the Apple rep:
"Also for future reference, because Apple does not offer protection for the loss of data from your hard disk, I always recommend that you back up your iTunes library as soon as possible and thereafter on a regular basis."
This was not an issue of me losing the songs.  I had the copies of them.  They were showing in the "Purchased" playlist and also in my iTunes music folder.  The only issue was that they did not show in the "Library".

  • I have transferred my music to new computer but music is not showing in iTunes - although is on the computer as if I select a song from the folder it will play that song via iTunes. How can I get my music to show?

I have transferred my music to a new computer following the instructions carefully but for whatever reason the music does not show on iTunes on the new computer. The music is there as I can access it via My Computer and if I select a song it will show in iTunes and play - however I can not do this for every single track! Can anyone suggest something I have done wrong????

Media was moved via external hard disk, and I think I moved the iTunes Media folder after consolidating it.

  • I have been dealing with crashing and freezing issues on my iMac for 6 months.  A supervisor has been assisting me but the issue is not getting fixed.  The computer was under when the issues started.  He wants to get us a new computer but is not allowed.

Our iMac was under warranty when it began freezing and or crashing.  I have spent several hours on the phone with a supervisor and had the machine in 2x.  We have also had a repair done in our home.  The problems persist.  We feel apple owes us a new computer.   Help!!!

Do you have a written record of your attempts to get it repaired?  When you took the machine "in" for repairs, did you take it to an Apple Store or to an Apple Authorized Reseller or Repair Facility, and do you have copies of invoices or statements showing what repairs were made?  If the answers are yes, you need to be persistent in attempting to get a new computer.  Ask to talk to the supervisor's supervisor to "escalate" the complaint to a higher level.  Get copies of all your repair information and send a letter to the Apple Customer Service people in California and ask them for help.
If your iMac was under warranty when the problems started and the problems have not been resolved, your position should be that the problems should still be fixed or the computer replaced even though the warranty may have expired in the interim.  Do you live in the US?  If yes, your home state has a Consumer Protection agency.  File a complaint with them and ask for their assistance in mediating and/or resolving the matter.

  • Reloaded PSE 9 onto new computer but will not open.

I got a new computer and re-loaded Photoshop Elements 9 onto it. I got no error messages during install. I can open the initial "Welcome to Photoshop Elements 9" screen, but when I attempt to open 'Organize' or 'Edit' by clicking on the button they will not open. The button does change to the blue and black scrolling but after it stops the screens do not open. Can you help?

  • SD card recognized by computer but does not appear on desktop

Three SD cards used in a Nikon camera and formatted in the camera. One card shows up on the desktop and files are accessible. The other two show up on the disk utility with accurate sizes and amount of card memory used but show zero files and do not show up on the desktop. All three cards show on the desktop of my iBook G4 with a card reader and have files that can be copied and deleted. All three cards can be erased by Disk Utility on the MacBook Pro. All three are formated MS-DOS, either FAT16 or FAT32. It does not matter if I use a card reader in the USB port or the SD card slot.

Thank you Niel, for the interest. Have been busy working through the list of to do. It did not show in the General tab. I clicked that box a few times and it removed those remaining ones and returned them, when ticked again. In Disk Utlil it shows and I could get it mounted, but still it did not appear on the Desktop, even after restarting a couple of times.
So using Applescript and following Pink Mutant Wes. I put the name of the drive in "500" and clicked the run. As yet it still has not appeared on the Desk, but I was at some stage at least able to open it, from Disk Util with the magic mouse and read what was on the drive. Will see how I get on tomorrow with this, as sleep and dreams are beaconing. Dave

  • I downloaded iTunes to a new computer and authorized that computer but my music is grayed out and will not play, how do I get access to my music?

I installed iTunes to a new computer and authorized that computer but my music is grayed out.  How do I get access to my music?

Is there a way to change that?
You can easily set up the iPod to automatically sync to your current iTunes library (or just do a Restore), but that will replace the iPod's existing content with content from your current iTunes library (erasing the iPod).  If your old computer was "retired" gracefully and you were able to transfer its complete iTunes user data to your new computer, there is no problem because all of the songs on the iPod now are already in your current iTunes library.  However, if there are songs on the iPod that are not in your current iTunes library, those songs will be lost.  That may be a problem...
If you want to preserve what is on the iPod, you can try setting the iPod to Manually manage music and videos.  I believe you can do that from an iTunes library that is not the iPod's currently associated library.  Select the iPod in iTunes, so that you see its Summary settings screen.  Check the box for Manually manage music and videos.  (If iTunes puts up any warning about erasing or replacing the iPod's existing content, Revert the change and cancel out.)  Click Apply.  The iPod is no longer set to automatically sync.  But you can add new content manually to what is already on the iPod.  And the songs should not be grayed out.
However, you cannot use iTunes to transfer songs on the iPod to your current iTunes library (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  If there are songs on the iPod that are not in your computer's iTunes library, you should eventually "offload" those song files because your iPod can easily break, become corrupted, or get lost.  iTunes syncs content in one direction only (from computer to iPod), but there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like iPod "transfer," you should get some links, including a CNET article on the topic.
Once all of your songs are "consolidated" in your current iTunes library, you can set up the iPod for automatic syncing to that library.

The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a backup device.
You need to copy everything back using your backup copy.
