  • Authorizing computer for downloading previously purchased music

How do I authorize a computer to download the music I purchased on my iPad?

It sounds like you aren't doing this right.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.
You will have to contact iTunes Customer service about possibly getting a refund.

  • Installed ADE, authorized mac computer, successfully downloaded ebook but program crashes when click to read

can anyone help, have authorized mac with ADE installed, book downloaded into ADE library but program crashes
when I try to open book to read. deleted first download and downloaded again, same result, any ideas?
    thx, chengen

Same prob on Mac OS X 10.10.1 with ADE 4.0.  Crashes 2 out of 3 times and when it does crash it creates epubs that have 0 pages and are corrupt when viewed in iBooks.
Downgraded to ADE 1.7 using this discussion (ACSM files cause Adobe Digital Editions to crash) and now it works without crashing and downloads new ACSM bookmarks fine.  BUT... when I reauthorized the new version of the program I lost access to the previously checked-out books (the ACSM files created errors).
At least it effing works now with new checkouts.

  • Is there a limit of ipods per authorized computer??

I know thwre is a limit to the number of computers you can authorize to run iTunes. Is there a limit to the number of ipods I can connect to my computer or do I need to "deauthorize" the ones I don't use any more? This is my third ipod and now both kids want one.

Yes, as you probably already know, you can authorize up to 5 computers onto your iTunes account to play purchased songs. iPods are not authorized since they have to work through an authorized computer to download purchased (and DRM protected) content. So there is no limit to the number of iPods you can sync to a single computer. If your family has 3, 5, 7, etc. iPods, they can all be used on the same computer.
However, there does seem to be a undocumented, as far as I can tell, limit to the number of different libraries you can connect an iPod to. Meaning if you set the iPod to manually update and go around to different computers getting stuff off them, at some point you will get an error message that your iPod can not sync to more than X number of libraries. I forget the number, it has been reported here before though, and 7 seems to ring a bell, but I might be off on that one.
But you don't need to worry about that last one. The simple answer to your question is that your family can continue to add iPods and they can all be used on your computer at home.

  • Cannot download ebooks from public library. error "copy not authorized". not recognizing adobe account

Trouble downloading ebooks from public library. Have done it many times recent problem. Error "copy not allowed". Suspect that Nook is not recognizing the adobe account.

I've been downloading books from the New York Public Library to my PC and then I move the book into ADE and from ADE to my Nook without any problems.  I've also been able to return the books from ADE to the library although I have yet to learn how to delete them Nook.  You may want to recertify your computer for the ADE by selecting Library on the ADE b ar and moving down to "authorize computer"and click "finish" I also do that when I have the Nook connected and select device and once it has been confirmed as authorized I copy the book to the Nook.  I hope this helps.

  • Download purchased album to another authorized computer?

Hey I was wondering if I could download an album I purchased on one computer to another itunes store authorized computer. I don't want to do this with an ipod or anything. I was wondering if I could just do it through the iTunes store itself. Meaning, I just log on with the other computer and somehow go through the iTunes store to download that album again on the second computer.
I downloaded an album to my desktop. I want it on my laptop but these two computers are in different locations (one is at my studio, the other is at my house) so it's not always just a quick simple thing to transfer music. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

+it's not always just a quick simple thing to transfer music.+
Yes it is. Copy the song files to a flash drive. When you get to the other location, copy them from the flash drive to the other PC, and then add them to the iTunes library there.

  • If I download my purchased music off of Itunes to an authorized computer will Apple charge me?

Just want to download my purchased music off of ITunes onto an authorized computer. When I attempted to do so, ITunes asked me for credit card information but doesnt say anything about charging me for downloading.
Question: does anyone know if ITunes Charges you to download previously purchased music off of its website? Thank you.

If you buy it again it will charge you, yes.
Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.
Or transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:  File>Transfer Purcahses
In the U.S you can use the newly released beta version of icloud.  Open  itunes, go to the itunes store.  Look under Quick Links, click Purchased

  • IPod Touch 4G won't sync new apps on 2nd authorized computer, but WILL sync music, podcasts, etc.

    Hello.
Everywhere I've read about apps not syncing to the iPod touch while using iTunes on a second authorized computer have mentioned that they could sync nothing to the device. Yet I have a different problem, one where I have no problem syncing new music, podcasts, pictures, etc., and only new apps refuse to sync to the device.
I recently purchased a new iPod Touch 4G. My computer being away for repairs at the time that I bought it, I synced only podcasts, apps, pictures, and video to the device using a friend's computer under a different Apple ID. When I first synced it, I authorized that computer with the device, and it mentioned you could sync the device with up to 5 computers, so I figured I would have no problem when I got my own computer back.
Having now received my computer back, I connected my new iPod touch to my own iTunes under my Apple ID and authorized my computer as the second authorized computer. These are the only two computers I have ever synced the device with.
I copied my music library, more pictures, and more podcasts to the device with no problems, and they play/show on the device no problem. Also, I can still access and use all the content previously on my iPod.
I have downloaded a few new free apps that I wanted to sync to my iPod using my computer, but when I go to sync them to my iPod, they won't sync to the device. I have downloaded all the apps I had originally put on my iPod using my friends computer so that I would receive updates for the apps automatically. I have not tried to sync these, though I have (or iTunes at least is telling me I have) synced any updates that have since come up for the apps already on my iPod.
I have tried clicking and dragging the new apps from the apps tab over to the device tab, and iTunes shows them syncing, and to the best of my knowledge, shows that it has finished syncing them. It also shows that it has completely synced all the new apps when I try syncing on the apps tab under the device tab (the one that shows up when you click on the tab for your iPod, and is next to Summary, Pictures, Video, etc.). I have all the boxes checked off, and the boxes next to all the apps are checked off as if they're on my iPod, but they don't show up on the screen display next to it. When I click and drag the new apps over so they appear and click "apply," iTunes shows that it has completed the syncing process, but the apps won't show up on my iPod, and disappear from the sceen display on the device apps tab the next time I sync my iPod.
I have the latest version of iTunes, and have downloaded all updates for it. My iPod's less than a month old, so I don't think there's any updates for the iPod itself.
I also currently don't have the ability to sync over wi-fi, or have wi-fi access on my iPod at home, though I could set it up if it would fix the problem. Right now, I'm only syncing my iPod using usb and iTunes.
I would prefer, if possible, not to have to restore the iPod to factory settings, and begin anew. However, if this is necessary, any help on how to restore the iPod and back it up would be much appreciated.
Any help you can give is awesome.
    Thank you for your time.

Hey, I'm probably too late and you may have already solved it but here's a solution. In iTunes go to Edit then preferences and then click on reset dialog warnings. What happens is when you first sync your ipod, you receive a message saying something like transfer?and you've probably selected "Do not show this message again". I don't really know why but iTunes assumes that the apps on your iPod are already on your computer and therefore need no transferring.
After you've reset it, the same message should pop up about transferring. As long as you don't click don't show, you should be good to go.

  • I have home sharing enabled but still can't get my library to show up on my newly authorized computer, I have a lot of songs imported from CD's, never had to use itunes match or before, please help if you can

I cannot get my library to show up on my newly authorized computer, please help if you can.
I have home sharing enable on old computer and new one.
If I try to sync --I  get the message that ipod can be synced w only one computer and if I sync with this library (which only shows new purchases from itunes)   it will replace everything that is currently on ipod

Why can't the songs be transferred to the device?  Is it because they are not authorized?  Were these 25 tracks purchased/downloaded with the same account you have used to authorize the PC/new iTunes library?
