Authorizing iTunes to transfer purchases
I am kinda freaking out here because we just got a new computer and I want to transfer all my purchases to my new library but it won't let me.
It says this once I type in my account name and password to authorize:
"You cannot authorize more than 5 computers. You have already authorized 5 computers with this account. To authuroize this computer you must deauthorize one of the other computers."
This doesn't make any sense whatsoever since I have only had 2 computers and this new computer being the 2nd.
PLEASE HELP ME! Is it because of Windows Vista?
If your system crashes or you reinstall your operating system without deauthorising iTunes first, even a single computer can use up your limit of 5 authorisations. You can't deauthorise those dead installations individually. If you've reached your limit of 5 you have the option to deauthorise them all in one go from your iTunes Store account and start over again. *Just note that you can only use this option once a year*: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation
To deauthorise all computers associated with your account:
1. Click iTunes Store in the Source pane.
2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
3. Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

Is the music not on your computer?
You buy one and only one download.
You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception, but they are under no obligation to allow.

Will hooking up my iPhone to iTunes and "Transfer Purchases" also transfer my music?
If I deleted all my music files, but the library still has the tracks (with the '!' symbol) and I transfer purchases, even though not all of them are purchased but ripped from CDs and such, would that restore the missing files?
If it doesn't is there anyway to restore the missing library files with my iPhone? An app? Thanks! It will transfer itunes purchases ONLY.
it has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use this to put all of the music back. -
Itunes disable transfer purchases
How do I disable this ridiculous "transfer purchases" every time I sync. WFT, Apple? It takes me 20 minutes to sync!
i think you go to preference under what was the file tab. now it's all in the little upper left drop menu. under preference go to store tab and uncheck as many as you want.

Transfer purchases didn't transfer?
My laptop recently crashed so i got myself a MacBook Pro. i plugged in my iPod touch to reorganize my music and apps. I clicked the "Transfer Purchases from iPod" but unfornately only two songs were copied. D: how can i transfer every single purchase i made?
please help, thank you.Normally. When you plug in your ipod then go iTunes "File" -> "Transfer Purchases". The purchases files from ipod will be copied to your iTunes autoly. If it doesn't work, you can use an ipod to Mac transfer program to help.I personally use this Mac iPod to iPod/Computer/iTunes Transfer. It helps me to copy my Music, Movie, Photo, ePub, PDF, Audiobook, Voice Memo, Camera Roll, Podcast and TV Show etc from ipod to Mac directly and safely. It works well for me,you can give it a try.
Hope it helps. -

Trying to transfer purchases from iphone into itunes I keep getting error that computer is not authorized. But it IS authorized, any suggestions? Thanks,
It's a straightforward port-forwarding issue.
You need to forward ports to the internal ip address of your apple tv as follows:
TCP 123
TCP 3689
UDP 5353
TCP 80
TCP 4343
TCP 53
This may also solve other problems you may have with homesharing... -

How to transfer purchased apps from iphone to the new itunes
Hi, how do i transfer purchased apps from iphone to the new itunes? (11.0.2) thanks!
Hi, CelineAyu,
Here is the way about how to transfer apps from iPhone to iTunes.
1. Connect your iPhone to the computer and open iTunes.
2. Make sure that iTunes is authorized and you are logged into your account. From the top menu choose Store -> Sign In. To authorize the computer for use with your account select Store -> Authorize This Computer.
3. From the left menu under DEVICES right-click on the name of your iPhone (Windows) or Control-click (Mac) to display the shortcut menu.
4. Choose the Transfer Purchases from iPhone option.
5. If you have any question about this issue. You can also use iPhone Transfer to help you. -
have purchased ringtone on iphone 4 not in my itunes library when i click devices, transfer purchases from, it appears in tones in my library but in a paler shade of print with a dotted circle to the left of it, if i try to click on it or take any other action it disappears and leave a blank space i have tried this several time i want to transfer library to my new iphone 5 but i will loose the ringtone
I had the exact same issue!! Seriously p*ssed me off when I checked out my ITunes purchased items (via my computer) and noticed that most of the additional tracks listed on my IPhone playlist was listed there too. However, I never authorized any purchases!! (I have actually written Apple Support asking for a full refund of all tracks listed on my purchased list)
Be careful when you swipe your finger to the left/right on those "additional" tracks on your IPhone playlist... I'm pretty sure that the cloud symbol is an option to download or automatically buy those tracks.
Solution for the problem:
1 - go to your IPhone settings
2 - choose "iTunes & App Store"
3 - go to "Show All" & "Music"
4 - turn off "Music" by moving the bar to the left (it should be a white color once you turn it off)
Should solve your problem :~) -
Transfer Purchased onto iTunes not working
Today, I borrowed my friends iPod to download the purchased songs onto my iTunes. When it said it was finished, it only transferred 34 out of 300 and some odd number purchased. Could you help me please? I authorized the account and clicked on transfer purchases.
I'm pretty sure I remember this working before as well. Now that doesn't work and updating apps on the handset itself doesn't work properly either. As soon as you sync with iTunes though the process completes. Annoying to say the least. I love the fact that I can browse for software will out and about but if I can't transfer it to my library what's the point?
I guess once you have paid for applications, rather than free ones, you could go home and download it again via iTunes and you won't be charged twice? -
I can't get my ebooks from my ipad (in the Kindle app) to download into itunes. My ipad has been synced and I have tried to"transfer purchases from ipad" without success. Any suggestions?
You can't transfer Kindle books to iTunes. Your Kindle books are stored in your Kindle account on amazon.com. You can download them to authorized devices from there and Amazon stores them there for you.

Can't transfer purchased music from iTunes to iPod
When I try to transfer purchased music from my Itunes music folder to my iPod, I get the following error message: "Some of the iTunes Store files in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because the iPod may only contain content from five iTunes Store accounts."
What I have done to try to address the problem: I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes, (it was only after this download, actually, that I began to have the problem) read the help article entitled "Some songs in iTunes won't copy to iPod", de-authorized and then re-authorized the computer (didn't work) and gone through my iPod to delete any songs that were on burned cds given to me by friends, which potentially originated from other iTunes accounts.
Perhaps I have overlooked something, but my iPod is only registered on three computers, and I am unable to transfer my purchased music to my iPod. Interestingly, I had no problem transfering my purchased songs onto my iPod before upgrading to the latest version of iTunes last month. It has only been since the upgrade that I can no longer transfer purchases. I subscribe to several podcasts through National Public Radio (free)-- could this be a factor?
Please help. I still have 19 GB of free space and if I can't transfer purchases, then it's kind of a waste of space. Thanks so much for your time~Greetings from Mancunia.
I am having a similar problem. After years of trouble free use, my 'pod is now giving me trouble, well the new iTunes software is, anyway. See here : http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=255305&tstart=0
Why can't I add my new downloaded tunes to my pod? ARRRRGH!
help me!

Make file backups while shooting tethered
I agree with others who have posted that LR needs to add the option of copying files to an external drive whens shooting tethered. I use NIkon and the camera does not keep a copy in the camera when shooting tethered in LR. Just makes so much obvious
