Authorizing my computer with my new iPod?

Hey everyone,
I have a problem, ever since I bought my iPod Touch, iTunes keeps telling me I can't transfer from my iPod to my computer because "I'm not authorized to play them on this computer". I've been reading about the problem but I tried going into my account settings and there are no options for authorizing. I'm already on my administrator account, I have the newest version and I tried deleting that folder. So what now? I'm pretty sure it's already authorized yet I can't backup all the apps I paid for now, and I don't know what will fix it, help anyone?
Thanks!

No that shouldn't make a difference. Read this info from Apple. Using multiple iPods on one computer. I normally use four different iPods off my computer and only had to authorize the computer itself once.

I sold my old Ipod, got a new pod along with a new computer. My question is how do I authorize this new computer along with getting all my old apps on my new ipod. I really don't want to pay for it all, all over again!
    Please someone help me!
    Thanks

Redownload the applications from the iTunes Store. It's free.

There's a few ways of managing multiple devices on a single computer (and keeping seperate content on each). The following document is worth checking through:

  • The software licence agreement with my new IPOD prohibits use on a non appl

the software licence agreement with my new IPOD prohibits use on a non apple branded computer (yeah, I know, no one reads these things) therefore, as I read the agreement, I am not allowed to install the software on teh CD that came with my new IPOD onto my computer - Interestingly enough, if I run just the itunes installer from the CD and not the "autorun" file, then I get a different licence agreement.
Will Apple compuer company please formally state that the supplied software may be installed on a non Apple branded computer

here is the section to which I was referring - it popped up when I first inserted the CD, and it runs when you install the IPOD updater - see the first sentence.

  • How do I sync my old itunes with a new ipod?

I have just got the latest iPod Nano, after having an extremely old version (from about 5 years ago). All my music (over 800 songs) is on my iTunes account on my home computer, but this computer only has Windows XP, which is not compatible with the new iPods. If I get iTunes 10.4 on my laptop, how can I transfer all my songs from my old iTunes to my new iTunes so that I can sync with my new iPod??
    Thankyou

    Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • Will i have to do it all over again with the new ipod?

my ipod is super beat up and it's time for a new one, so i deleted all my itunes programs off of my computer and i've reinstalled them.
while i'm saving up money for a new ipod i wanted to go ahead and reimport all my songs into a library, once i do this am i able to just plug the new ipod into my computer and all of these songs will update and i'll be all set?
or will i have to do it all over again with the new ipod?

Once you have reinstated the tracks to your library, you'll able to sync your new iPod to it automatically and update it with the contents of your iTunes.

  • I cannot download the latest version of itunes to my Mac OS X 10.5.8 to sync with my new ipod nano.  Any suggestions???

I cannot download the latest version of itunes to my Mac OS X 10.5.8 to sync with my new ipod...any suggestions?

You need to upgrade the computer's OS. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it can't sync that device.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, upgrade it as if it was a Core Duo Mac, and once done, if desired, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.
Some device models require Mac OS X 10.7.5 to sync.

  • ITunes work with a new iPod?

I have a question that just came to mind.
If I purchased another iPod and hooked it up to my computer, would I be able to use the songs in my iTunes library with the new iPod?

Yes. iTunes will recognize each iPod as unique. I am currently syncing four iPods to the same iTunes library. I use the "Sync selected playlists" option to select which music goes on which iPod.
    Best of luck.

  • Lost my ipod, can i use my account with my new ipod?

I lost my ipod, can I use my old account with my new ipod?

Yes.  There is no limit to the number of iPods, iPads, or iPhones you can sync with one computer, iTunes library, or account. Simple connect it and sync it as you wish.

  • Will the Ipod 3 upgrade come with a new Ipod touch bought after June 17

If I wait till after June 17th will the 3 upgrade come with the new Ipod which I was planning on buying?

    Chris CA wrote:
    Yes.
No. Touches purchased from Apple on or after 6/17/09 will either have 3.0 on them or will receive a free upgrade. Touches purchased from authorized Apple dealers on or after 6/17/09 may or may not have 3.0 on them. They should, however, be eligible for a free upgrade. In the case of Touches w/o 3.0 on them, you WILL need to call Apple customer service (I suggest doing so before you open the item, just to be safe).
Touches purchased from today through 6/17/09 will more than likely be entitled to a free upgrade since they fall within Apple's 14-day return/upgrade policy.
The above information comes from personal experience and calls to Apple customer service. it also assumes you paid full retail for the Touch, not a discounted price intended to offset the cost of the OS upgrade.

When you connect the iPod to your computer and go to the Music tab to select which music you want to sync, iTunes will pop up a dialogue box that if you sync your music it will replace the music that is already on the iPod.
Since that sounds like what you want to do, just click ok and then sync.
